I was attempted to flash my P6P with another OS and while i was in Fastboot I went to Reboot Bootloader and the phone powered off hours ago. No volume + Power combo will pull anything up phone is dead.
Any ideas?
I have a new replacement of its way away but wont be hear until 12/28 so anyone got ideas...
*edit*
After holding the POWER only button for 30 seconds she came back to life!

Could it be the battery is dead ? If not already tried I'd leave it plugged in for some time (at least 30min) to get some basic charge and then try the button combos again...
What exactly is "another OS"?

Awesome, when you are in fastboot you should be able to reinstall the original OS .

yeah I had the same issue. had to hold power and volume down for over 20 secs to get into fastboot... others experiencing this also. takes multiple tries, and holding down different parts of the pwr button (even though it works perfectly in the OS)

Hold down the power botton +vol. up for about 20 seconds. When the screen goes black switch holding vol. up to holding in vol. down.
You should boot into fastboot.

If you're not on 4.4.4 firmware you should update to it. It's already a well known fact that running ROMs with out dated firmware WILL result in excessively long bootup times(10mins + ) .

Then just try it again.
Did it actually start up again or just shut itself off? if so you can still just press Volume Down + Power to get into bootloader.

Once it reboots you won't really be able to get in, well I couldn't when I tried. As soon as the screen goes dark you should immediately have the volume down key pressed, I'm talking about a second at most in between.
If the phone is completely off it's easy enough to just hold volume down and power for a couple of seconds until it goes into bootloader. When you do the hard reset you have to hold the power button and slide down to volume down quickly before it boots up.
You didn't still have fastboot checked in the settings did you?

OH SH*T! I still have mine checked. It doesn't work any more for me (normal boot times), but I haven't been unchecking it when messing with stuff because I'm not realizing/ forgetting that it is on.
I should probably fix that before I get myself into trouble.:good:

Well another method to try that worked for me when my device hung up, connect to PC, and use adb reboot bootloader to have it rebooted into bootloader.

I'm just curious, was your phone fully charged when you were flashing the ROM? It sounds like a battery problem, but I could be wrong.
Always make sure you have lots of battery before flashing anything. The way it won't stay on is really weird. You could try the ROM's forum. Maybe you might find an answer there. Sorry.

Where did you download the ROM from? You can probably figure it out by reading your original post.
When I power on my m8 it gets frozen on htc one screen.
when i press power+volume down it just simply power on
Please help.
Do this:
1) Hold power+vol up for a minute or so, to force a reboot
2) The moment the screen goes dark to reboot (but before the HTC logo screen appears - you actually have about 3 seconds to do this), let go of those buttons, and start holding vol down only. Don't let go until you see bootloader.
3) If you fail to get into bootloader, you probably just got the timing wrong (either started pressing vol down too late, or let go too early). Just repeat steps 1 and 2, until you get it right.
Nothing happens holding power+vol up

I've never seen this fail to work, except with vol rocker broken. Do you have any reason to believe that is the case (vol rock is broken)?

It would have been broken (or was malfunctioning) before. It didn't suddenly break.
If you've never had any problems with the vol rocker, its probably fine.
Try charging the phone for a few hours, then try again. Try the button sequence with the charger attached.
You can also try letting the battery run out. Then after that, charge it and try holding power+vol down.

No. There is no way to do anything, unless you can either boot to OS or bootloader.
You have to keep trying to get to bootloader, one way or another. Its really your only option.
What happens if you just hold power (for a minute or so)?

When I hold only power button sometime it restarts and sometime nothing happens
My Pixel C is fully changed but the screen is black and won't display anything at all. I know it is on because I can take screenshots with the hardware button and hear the noise. I can also see it on Android Device Manager. I have long pressed with all the different button combinations. It reboots but the screen shows NOTHING (not even the Google boot logo).
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
It is stock and not rooted but subscribed to the Beta channel.
I has this problem today as well and I'm on beta as well. I had to press the volume down button as well as the power button to get into recovery mode and rebooted from there. I can only assume it's something to do with the beta as I have not had this before I updated to O beta.

I didn't elect to install O. I didn't see the update notification in the last couple weeks before it had this problem.
I can't get to recovery because the screen is off. How did you do it? Or were you able to see the screen after holding the volume down button as well as the power button to get into recovery mode?
I had to hold both buttons down for about 30 secs and then I got into recovery mode. From there I just restarted the device.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, that is not working. I have tried holding for 60 seconds just to be sure. It is so strange!
Not sure what it is in that case. Have you tried the volume up button to get fast boot mode?
I am having this problem aswel, on the android O beta. I can not use it and I can not see the bootloader when holding down power + volume down
edit: resolved the issue by trying button combinations until it booted (took around 2 hours total with time of disappointment in between)
edit2: oh my ****ing god it booted correctly (showed bootloader warning + bootlogo + lockscreen) but it locked and now it's black again!
edit3: was able to get into fastboot after 3 tries so i'm flashing the factory image right now (7.1.2)
edit4: flashed 7.1.2 factory image and was able to fastboot boot into twrp but still no display.
edit5: i am now troubleshooting i checked all the files in /sys/devices/50000000.host1x/54400000.dsi/54400000.dsi.0/backlight/lpm102a188a-backlight/ they all indicate 255 which is 100% anyone have any ideas?
final edit: i fixed it by trying a **** ton of times
Hello,
Can you tell what have you do to repair the pixel? Have the same issues after Oreo update :/
Anyone found a way to fix permanently? Mine started doing it around Christmas 2018, and it takes more and more tries every time (to ctrl-down power) and at some point it works... Then all stays fine until I close the lid or put it to seep.
Did someone reinstalled completly the os and got a success? I am not rooted, this started when It tried (and failed) to install 8.1 (update of oreo).
My friend has a Pixel 2 XL which has been bootlooping ever since he wiped everything in TWRP. He can't turn it off nor go into fastboot, so I don't know what to do.
If totally unresponsive your only option is a hard reboot. Either pull the battery or let it discharge until it shuts down.
Then reconnect the battery or charge it a bit to see what it does...
I believe that an extremely long press of the power button (around 20 seconds) will force it to shutdown, and then do a proper boot where fastboot should be accessible through the key combination. It is almost impossible to break fastboot (unless there is a hardware error), so don't give up!
Thank you! We tried to install TWRP earlier, but it said the partition (recovery) didn't exist. But when we booted it into recovery, TWRP was magically there. So, he rebooted into the OS, and it was there, magically working again. -Sam
