Question Dolby Atmos MD2 Edition - Magisk Module - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Coming from OnePlus 7 Pro - I really liked the audio processing/equalizer capabilities that were built in when connecting to my 2020 Corolla (that doesn't have AndroidAuto because Toyota is stupid)
I was looking at Viper4Android and reading the problems people were having keeping it running didn't appeal to me.
Has anyone else tried this? https://github.com/reiryuki/Dolby-Atmos-MD2-Edition-Magisk-Module/blob/main/README.md
It installed fine first try and the Dolby app appears to be working when I poke through the app, but I don't have any headphones at work to test with.
I'm looking forward to seeing if I can get back to great sound music in the car again this afternoon!

Viper 4 Android might be a pain to get to work on whatever devices, but it's totally worth it. Someone always finds out how to make it work. There's a thread for it in here - find it and do the one where you modify a line in a file (NOT as difficult as it may sound lol). Worked perfectly for me. You'll understand v4a once you have it working. Seriously. I've been using it for years. It's night and day, even in my Audi.

I appreciate this. While I got viper working on the speakers of my phone, when attached to my p.o.s. Toyota Corolla, it refuses to process. So I'm back to Dolby app I posted above which is working...but now I want viper to work.

viper works great with pixel 6 pro rooted

I finally got it working in Legacy mode today!
After a lot of poking around and dragging around I kind of got the car sounding better. It really takes a lot to get the quality back where it used to be,but not exactly there yet.

[Q] Volume Boost / Increase

Hi There,
I have a Galaxy Tab3 7.0 and I'm wondering how I can go about increasing the headset volume? Even at 15, it's still pretty low for me. I've tried a few of the volume boost apps on the app store but none of them work.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
Also looking for the same. Viper worked for me, but caused massive distortion even with modest settings. On the plus side, with an EQ running I find that sound quality is great via the headphone jack, it sounds nice in my car.

My bad - to clarify, I am not using Viper and don't recommend trying it, due to the distortion (which let me know that it technically worked). It sounds great in my car- without Viper - partially because my car stereo adds a 18db boost.
I dunno if this will help, but I found this volume hack/mod for the galaxy s4. I have this installed on my phone, but I dunno If this will work on the tablets. It is a flashable zip file... If any of you brave people wanna flash and confirm if this works on the tablets that would be awesome

Increase bitpool?

It looks like someone did it with Samsung source last year.... First time I've heard of it in a tw rom....
Anyone else dumbfounded by this being set so low? This was the reason I started running aosp roms on my EVO 4G.... And kept with them on my Galaxy SII.
Why isn't this more important to people? Music sounds like poop over bluetooth.
Anyone know of a fix for the Note 3?

someone actually did this with the Samsung Captivate Glide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880298
I would LOVE this to be fixed once and for all by Samsung, but....doesn't look like that will EVER happen....
Basically highs sound too compressed and scratchy almost...am I the only one who's almost quit listening to music from my phone in the car because of this?
Thanks
quick fix that (at least) make BT music sounds better...

lpa.decode=false

I missed this post, but thank you!!!
I just made the changes, but haven't been out to my car yet. Hoping for the best, but honestly, not expecting much. What do these changes do? I'm gonna google it, but....I'm asking here too.
You're welcome ^^
From what I googled: it reroute your audio stream through main CPU instead of special DFX introduced in JB+, the Low Power Audio decoder -lpa.decode- (thus increase in batt usage like playing music in pre-JB Android)...
I would be glad if it works for you as well ad solve your problem ^^

I was super excited, but ...it didn't work. Highs still sound like poop. It's hard to tell sometimes, but, when my random playlist hit In The Mall by Weezer, it became very obvious that it still sucked.
the cymbols in that song are pretty isolated, and that's where you can hear the static compression. just sounds terrible to me...and i'm far from an audiophile...
Thanks for responding though!
Ah yes, its still suck but better than using LPA Decoder...
Still have to find a way to make it at least listenable....
I'm an audiophile... And this problem made me crazy...
Some says that its intentional by Sammy, coz Sammy use APT-X protocol for streaming music (maybe its their marketing strategy to make ppl switch to Samsung Level headset/APT-X compatible headset?).

I didn't mention it in this thread, but I think last time I tried an AOSP rom for this phone, I still wasn't very impressed with the sound quality. Have you tried? I think I tried a PAC-Man rom a few months ago....

Umm, nope... I never tried AOSP/AOKP anymore since my Note 2....
And I give up using bluetooth for music, can't bear the sound quality...
I tried Viper but it stuttering too much, and I don't like equalized/tuned sound... I listen to music as-is....
I'll try to get cheap APT-X bluetooth headset (not $500++ headset as I'm cheap )

ViPER4Android Audio Effects Settings

Hello,
I installed ViPER4Android Audio Effects in the effort to make my phone speaker louder, and, perhaps, sounds better.
However, after installation, I played around with all the different settings.
And for the life of me, I can't get it to sound anything decent. In fact, stock sounded much better, sans loudness.
Please kindly share your settings, I would like to mimic them.
Thank you.

Viper 4 Android is really geared for headphone & IEM users TBH. for the regular speakers it just crackles and makes the experience worse

No crackle on my notesss or tabsss. In fact sounds great!
I mainly just use Viper for my headphones but when I turned it on for the speaker, I didn't hear any crackle. As far as settings, I just play with it until it sounds good for me.

Audio Balance way louder on right side

I've noticed this for a while and it's driving me nuts. For whatever reason the audio comes out about 80/20 with 80% of the sound on the right side. I've tested with multiple headphones and LG Tone+ Bluetooth headphones. I've also used multiple audio apps including a youtube video that's made to test sound from right/left speakers. Any ideas? I'm running Viper as my daily driver but also have installed Fluent's Lollipop rom via MultiROM and it's the exact same. If it was just headphones I'd think it was something with the connection but it's also an issue with bluetooth. I thought maybe I could just find an app to adjust the balance but I can't find any app that adjusts left/right balance either.
Thanks for any input!

Care to elaborate? A mod to do what? Is this a known issue? If so I haven't found a single relevant post/article when searching via xda or google...

Than why post ? Really.....Post the link or don't post at all !
What kind of attitude is that, like all other posts where you seem to offer help but actually post nothing but random text. Making up things that the OP "might" want to do to his phone.
It comes to my conclusion that you have a very strange way of thinking/posting.
I hope you will at least consider to offer true help and post what you actually know.
Have a nice day.

Agreed!
I updated my kernel to one that works with fauxsound and was able to bump up the left side when using headphones so it sounds better via headphones but no change via bluetooth. Can't seem to find an app that edits bluetooth left/right gain... Still doesn't make sense to me why my phone would have this issue with both bluetooth and regular headphones. Very odd!

And no some devices do not have it. It's either a software or a hardware problem of any kind and should not be there. When it can be changed via audio enhancing software it's fine if the user likes that solution too.
A device that comes with this price "should" be flawless.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not sure when this issue started but it hasn't always been that way. Viper4Android seems to be the best solution I can find currently as you can change the left/right values via Channel Panning for bluetooth and headphones (0.9:0.1 seems best).
I doubt it's software since I've tried multiple kernels/roms and even reflashed firmware this morning. If it really is hardware though I'm not familiar with the process to get a replacement under warranty. Might need to look into that I guess.
I think maybe when Sprint releases lollipop I'll look into running a RUU and see if that fixes the issue. I'm s-off so shouldn't be a problem doing a RUU I don't think.

Cheers mate
Agree, since your version has an RUU, run it. If that doesn't fix it, might be a hardware issue.

Non-SoundAlive Equalisers causing distortion.

Hey all,
So as the title says really, I'm trying to use a third party equaliser in place of Sound Alive with no luck.
I really wanted to try Viper4android because I've heard fantastic things about it, however I'd rather retain the warranty for my phone, so I went looking elsewhere. A lot of suggestions on the forums praise Noozxoide as a good equaliser, so I thought I'd give it a go over stock. Except it distorts all sound when I use it. This happened with other non-root equalisers as well.
I've tried disabling Sound Alive and Sound Adapt in Package Disabler, it just won't work; all distortion.
Any way to fix this?

What's wrong with the Dolby Atmos?
Without root you can't get better sound than stock Dolby.
Noozxoide is outdated since 5 years...
