So... yeah, bluetooth in pixel pro is completely and utterly useless. I mean it can probably work if you only have one pair of headphones, but if you have more devices you use daily you will get problems. And lots of reboots.
So first scenario - You listen on your headphones, get in your car. It switches beautifully. Well it does take about a minute, while on my OnePlus 6t it was a matter of seconds, but at least it works. Not so much with phone calls. It will just lose the audio completely and you will have to switch back to speaker and then back to whatever device you want to listen on to get it back. Which may or may not work. Reboot.
Also, my phone, whatsapp, messenger and viber calls will randomly lose audio after about 2 - 3 minutes on BT. switch back to speaker and perhaps you will be able to reconnect to your headphones. Perhaps not. Reboot.
Today I lost audio completely after switching to my car. It was working fine at work, then I went to the car park, got in the car, wanted to listen to my book, no sound. Spotify? No sound. OK, connected my headphones. No sound. Connected android auto. Yay, we have sound. Got out of the car, wanted to listen on my headphones (oneplus btw), no joy. Reboot.
If you have a device that is paired and is on, it will switch to that. Which is fine, but you can't choose on which device to play from the volume menu like on oneplus. That's ok too, everything is retarded compared to oxygenos. Fine. So you disconnect the device manually. Haha no, f you. It will forcefully reconnect just to f... with you.
Because of all this retarded crap I absolutely hate this phone. I hate it. I have to reboot it at lest 10-15 times a day. That's Windows Millenium bad. That is completely unacceptable. I am honestly thinking about returning it.
Oh by the way, my fingerprint sensor works awesome. It is SO much better than the op6t one. Still utterly inferior to any rear mounted one I ever used and I do not understand why on earth did we get rid of those ones, clearly in a better place and 10000000 times faster. But still, fine.
The lack of the face unlock is the pinnacle of stupidity though. Especially to anyone coming from OxygenOS. I seriously only used my fingerprint to confirm purchases on op6t. Which truthfully never worked and I had to enter the pin always anyway, but that's besides the point.
I WANT FACE UNLOCK!
Oh yeah, that was completely off topic.
I WANT BT FIXED!
Hmmm. I have the complete opposite experience. Sorry to hear that. I don't know what it is, but I absolutely love this frigging phone. I haven't been excited about phones in years. This one does it for me. I don't use Bluetooth ever, except in the car via Android Auto, and it works fine for me. Bluetooth in general is a **** technology IMO, so of course sometimes phone audio doesn't work right. No issues here. Music/Spotify works fine. I would never use face unlock, so not an issue for me. Never have to reboot either. Not sure what that's about. Also, windows ME was great! LOL. Not as good as XP though. Anyhow, don't know what to tell you. Maybe return it.
EDIT: maybe try clearing WiFi, Bluetooth, etc history in the settings and start over.

Did that a million times when tried to connect to my stratos watch. Unfortunately that did not work either. BT is completely broken as I say.
Try clearing the system cache.
As js042507 said, try a network reset.
Try a hard reboot (simulates pulling battery).
Disable all power management as this can cause erratic behavior.
Try in safe mode if possible to rule out 3rd party apps as the cause.
I have three different sets of buds, a bluetooth speaker, my car, and two watches and I have no bluetooth issues at all. When I start the car, it only takes a couple seconds for the phone to switch from my buds to the car. I have not had to reboot my phone a single time. I haven't experienced any of what you described. It sounds like you might need to exchange the phone. Perhaps you have a bad bluetooth module. It's also worth noting, I am now using my 256gb, and was using a 128gb before that. Neither one had the issues you described.
Mine refuses to connect cleanly to one of my cars. It's paired fine, but the only process I can make work is
Phone:
double swipe down / settings / connected devices
select my car from "previously paired deviced"
get error message
Car:
Phone menu / find phone / select Pixel 6
error message flashed briefly on phone screen - something about SIM access
Phone:
select my car from "previously paired device"
get error message
select gear icon
select disconnect
select connect
Boom, easy as pie!!!!
I have yet to find a way to make it just work. My previous phone worked seamlessly with this car.

Apart from what I stated previously you can try clearing the sim toolkit data. It will rebuild it's self. Sometimes this will resolve connection issues.
Google play Services tends to always have it's finger in the pie, try clearing it's data.
Check through all of the Google account settings as well... there are many. Some may apply.

But all of that should not be necessary. We are not at android 0.3. It's android 12 for god's sake and it works well on pretty much any other device. This is just such an amateur screwup, come on. Ridiculous.
My Bluetooth hasn't been nearly as bad but it hasn't been totally perfect. I've had a similar disconnect issue where it's connected to my Bluetooth DAC but no sound happens. I end up using the quick toggle to go to phone speaker then back and all is good. My cars have been fine with music and GPS but I haven't taken a call yet and I hear disconnects are common during or after a call.

Bluetooth may be broken in your device but it isn't broken in the phone in general. Mine works flawlessly.
Having ten reboots a day obviously isn't normal so either return it, get it fixed or get rid of the phone you hate so much.
Mine works fine with Galaxy watch and galaxy buds+. No issues at all.
But I have problem with connection to my Volkswagen car. It connects fine, but I can't make it to connect for audio only. I don't need the phone part connected, only audio but it only connects automatically if audio with phone are engaged.
In another car it won't automatically connect to Anker Soundsync. Every time I have to dive into bluetooth settings and connect it from there.
I had none of these problems with Samsung S21 Ultra.
As far as the car audio is concerned mine works with the iDrive unit in my 3 series perfectly. It has trouble (not near what you describe but definitely not as flawless) in my Cooper S with a year older iDrive than the 3 has. I think if anything it might be firmware differences with the vehicles in my case. Maybe ensure your cars firmware is up to date if updateable? It may be worth checking out but of course it doesn't explain your other issues.
I always have it paired to a Galaxy Watch 3 with no problems and Galaxy buds on and off throughout the day.
Like others have said though if I was having that many issues you bet I'd be returning/exchanging it.

Could be a mobo failure or a bad batch of mobos the wasn't detected.
During production runs components including smaller chipsets may be substituted. This can lead to unexpected deviations in performance and/or functionality not easy to detect.
There are millions of semiconductor junctions in a mobo... ever wonder what happens when one or a few are defective?
There may be no easy fix except to return it...

Ok so I took back my Motorola s9 because of skipping problems with mt T Mobile Wing & now ive got the perfect headset, Its a Insignia Ns-Bthdp paid $53.49 @ Best Buy.
Ok it charged in 3 hours ,paired up nice and re paired when I shut off the device with no problems. Its SUPER LOUD ...wow I couldnt believe how loud these things are ..but its not as clear as the s9's were, I think if I add the EQ to my phone, I can fix that.
On a call it had a small echo effect for the the other party but on my end the call is in stereo(yes). These sit on the ear not in it and wrap the neck like the s9's.
The controls will take some getting use to, it will beep when theres an incoming call so you can answer, and you can return the last call as well.
So wing lovers there you have it a cheap stereo bluetooth headset that wont SKIP and its loud, light, and did I say it dosen't (SKIP)...lol

Hi Evil:
Sorry to ask a stupid question, but you may be able to save me some research, for what I believe may be an easy question. I just got the headphones you mentioned. They are great.
I was able to easily pair them with my Tilt, but once I turned off, next time I went to use them, I turned on bluetooth, and nothing.
Is there some additional step I need to take to get them working?
Basically all I did was make sure the headphones were on, then turned on bluetooth on phone. Am I missing something?
Thanks!
PS: Please forgive my ignorance. I have never used a bluetooth device, and it doesn't explain anything beyond pairing in the manual for the headphones
I also have the Tilt (TyTN II), but have the i-Tech BlueBand R (which I love).
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but one annoyance with using this BT headset with my TyTN II is the need to go into the BT menu and manually activate the pairing every time, i.e., go to BT settings, turn on BT, go to Devices, long click on the i-Tech and choose "set as hands-free" and/or "set as wireless stereo."
Am I expecting too much? Or is this just that way BT stereo headsets work?

My HTC Touch Cruise and my Samsung SBH-170 connect automatically as soon as the headphones are turned on. Pressing play on the headphones starts my music only if either HTC Audiomanager or Windows Media Player are already running. My older Qtek 8310 (HTC Tornado) however would also start Windows Media Player on its own once I pressed play on the headphones.

Well, as it turns out, I had a defective headset. After exchanging it, it is no longer necessary to pair each time.
Regel, you are correct, it is VERY annoying to have to go in each time, and select "set as hands-free" and/or "set as wireless stereo."
Does anyone have a workaround for this, so that it will automatically use as stereo , and headset?
Sonus:
You are lucky that yours connects automatically, I sure wish mine did too. Those are very nice looking headphones! Better looking than my new Insignias, but the Insignias were cheap, and I'm broke
Thanks!
EDIT: Sonus: You were right! If I turn on music and bluetooth BEFORE turning on headset, it does automatically connect. Thanks for the tip!

I'm happy it worked out, I usually keep bluetooth on all the time, as battery drain is very minimal. As long as the bluetooth is already on before you turn on your headset, you can turn the music player on at any time you want without any issues.
Thanks, I actually had first bought the headset over a year ago for $100, but someone stole them a few months back, and I was able to get a set on eBay for like $16 plus shipping...so the moral is that they can be bought cheap if you're really interested in a pair.
Hi!
I am in the market for a set of stereo BT headphones for the gym, S9 seems to get lots of bad reviews..especially for getting them wet which is a problem as I sweat like hog in a blast-furnace...any luck with any of the sets you have actually being sweat-resistant and not interfering with running/lifting? TIA!!

All bluetooth headphones I have used, have automatically connected as hands free, but there is nothing to show this on the phone; just the flashing on the headphones shows it is connected.
Then pressing play on the headphones starts wireless stereo, and the headphone symbol appears on the screen, and the headphones make the little beep tone.
Hi everyone!
I am quite sure my problem is not ROM related, because it happens on my HTC DHD and also on my HD2.
Following happens when i listen to music over my headspeakers ( it also happens with all different kind of headsets, even when i have the phone connected to my car over aux ), the phone suddenly starts to call the last called person and it skips the songs randomly.
When I unplug it from aux or headspeakers it ok, until I replug it again.
I know there are quite a few people out there that have had or still have this problem.
Does anybody has a solution to that problem?
I hope, somebody can help me out there.
I had a similar problem but had a little crackle as well. I found that it got progressively worse with time as well. Thought it was just my stock headphones so did tests with other types and same problem so I figured it must be the socket. I was gonna buy some Bluetooth headphones but found that a clean restart sorted the problem. Turn off fast boot and turn off, leave it thirty seconds or so and boot up. it seems like it was something up do with cleaning out the temp files with a clean boot sorted it. Hope your problem sorted itself out the same way, if not then i'm all out of ideas and you need someone with a better knowledge of the system
Failing that try checking if there's some fluff in the headphone socket that may be causing a short of sorts
Funnily enough I was using earphones a few days ago when watching YouTube and my music kept starting and flicking through songs on its own. (I was also using WiFi.) I'd never experienced it before. It was like the phone was controlled by some remote source. It even continued after rebooting the phone and not even starting the music myself. After pulling out the headphones and quitting YouTube/ switching off Wifi it stopped doing it. It could be a bug or maybe simply the Evil Google is taking over.. Does anyone actually know why the OS is called `Android'?
It is a bug caused by using incompatible headphones. Headphones without a mic. Plug has 3 bands instead of 4. Try this free app from the market as it gets great reviews and supposedly stops the issue. "Headset Blocker"
Or use a set of headphones with a mic and 4 bands on the plug.

Thanks for this information. I hope this headset blocker will do the job.
But if not what kind of aux cable would I have to buy, for plugging my phone into my car system?
Pick up something like this. It is an adapter cable that adds a mic to an ordinary pair of headphones. This stops the short between the ground and the mic connection which seems to be giving MANY people issues.

I don't know if it is the port loosening up and the plug has static bounces between the ground and the mic connection or if it is just buggy software but this will fix it. Most electronic and cellphone stores should sell something like this.
to be honest i doubt if what you say is true because i´ve had the same problems with the stock headphones and same problems using my wifes sensation headphones( i know they´re both the same) so considering both have a microphone and are banded the same as your pic you posted that kinda makes the idea of it being incompatible kinda redundant. i´m not saying that your lying or anything but as a technical explanation of why there is a problem it leaves a lot to be desired from where i´m standing unless i´m the exception that proves the rule.
like i said for me just a cold restart did the trick and i´ve found people on forums elsewhere who solved the problem the exact same way.
A reboot doesn't fix the issue. Just stops it for now. Using the aux cable has stopped this issue for many. So has the app that I suggested. The only people that I knew that had this issue was using headphones without a mic and this has worked. And it could be a bug in the software. Music apps stay running in the background. So if you have different music apps installed this may cause your issue too. They may be interfering with each other. It is just suggestions to try. It all could be redunant. Rebooting is redundant as the issue will come back anyways.
that may be so but turning the phone on and off again costs a bit less and doesnt require a second cable to be connected between the phone and headphones
and again htc original headphones were the ones with the problem so i still dont see the type of headphones being the problem. seeing as how a complete reboot fixed the problem (maybe only temporarily, only time will tell) what that leads me to think is that its nothing more than a software conflict somewhere as the reboot cleans out the temp files somehow stopping the problem.
Been having this problem for months when connected via a normal 3.5mm jack in my car. It will call the last person, skip tracks and then open audiogalaxy. Thought it was the phone overheating or something to do with the socket. It all makes sense now, will try this app and report back after my next long drive if it works...
I've had a similar problem. To solve it, I did a small hardware hack to the 3.5mm socket of the phone.
I used some sugru silicone (sugru.com) to carefully cover up the first contact of the socket and it solved all my issues. It blocks out the headset commands (no more random calls during music playback) and also eliminated the static noise.
The hack is very easy to do and the sugru stuff can be removed again, so there's a minimum of risk involved.
Hope this helps
Ok so far. I downloaded this "Headset blocker" app from market and I have the feeling that it does its job.
Try it out yourselves and tell us your opinion.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
headset blocker solved the problem for me, but just for a time...
since a month or sth, same problem again....
tried new clean boot of the phone reinstall of the app several times seems not to work anymore
I previously did a review on the Nokia BH-214 almost 2 years ago. Loved it & now I saw they have a newer version out: BH-221
First, some pictures compared to the 214 (white):

A lot of what I loved about the 214 remains and what annoyed me about the 214 was resolved. Namely the clasp. The 214 was fixed, could never rotate. With the 221, the clasp rotates 360! One of the coolest new features of the 221 is NFC. You can power it on simply by holding the Nexus up to it! (I've not had much luck getting it connected via this method yet though.)
You can *STILL* use whatever earphones you prefer. The headphones plug in in the middle, opposite of the screen, not on the edge like previously. It charges via micro USB (same as Nexus) unlike the standard Nokia micro pin plug on the 214.
They've also added an OLED screen that will show you caller id, track names (if the device it's connected to supports it), and displays the FM channel it's tuned to. OH YEA! It has a built in FM tuner! If your phone was like the EVO, it used the ear phones plugged in for an antenna.
It also supports mutilpoint connectivity, allowing it to be simultaneously connected to two devices. To initiate a search for a phone, press the Start/End Call button for about a second. Same thing for a media device, except you press the Play/Pause. Here you can see it searching for a phone or music device:
I use it in the car as a hands free (via the Aux In) connected to my EVO (as a pure media device) and my Nexus for phone. Works great. The only aspect that I miss is that all notifications on the Nexus won't be heard because they're played over the media connection, not phone. Also, I believe the mic to be improved as I used to get complaints about echos when on a phone call while plugged into the stereo.
It took me about 30 minutes to figure out how to connect a 2nd device. It's not intuitive and the manual has NO INFORMATION on it at all. It required a lot of button holding after initiating a search. Hold the Prev/Next buttons simultaneously & options menu is scrollable via the Prev/Next buttons. The options are:
- Adjust Bass/Treble
- Connect 2nd Device
- Language
- Factory Reset
(NOTE: I didn't realize that the 214 could connect to multiple devices as well! I don't know how I decided to try, but it works essentially the same was as the 221. Press & hold the phone to connect to a phone device, Play/Pause for a media device. You don't get a screen to show the search, but it worked. I can connect to both my EVO & Nexus at the same time with no music apps running on my Nexus, but music playing on my EVO that I can hit next/prev & the songs change and take a phone call on the Nexus. Thought that was neat!)
One of the greatest things I loved about the 214 was the battery. It seemed to last longer than advertised. The 221 seems to last about what's advertised & seemingly shorter than the 214.
The other issue is price. I paid about ~$30 more than I paid for the 214. Another cool thing for the 221 is now it comes in 5 colors (White/Black/Blue/Green/Pink, but it's just the controls, the body is still black). The 214 comes in 2 (white or black, I believe maybe a blue too?). I bought it for about $75 at Expansys.
(NOTE: I haven't found a North America 221 for sale yet, they only have the EU version. You can tell by the plug, but Expansys included a US/EU plug adapter! I almost threw the box away my order came in & while verifying it was empty, I found the adapter! Works great.)
The volume is about the same, if not the 214 being a tad louder than the 221. The call clarity is as good as your phone & I've not had any complaints about noise or whatever from others when on a call.
I keep the 221 in the car because of it's better mic capabilities & the 214 (that used to stay in the car) now is around my neck full time again. Either make a great hands free/media interface for my car. The stock stereo was severely lacking & the 214/221 is a pretty good stop gap.
Thanks for your review. I purchased the 214 based on your review.
I've liked my 214. My issues have been connectivity - I'd say about 1/3rd of the time my key presses on the 214 are not registering with my phone. Do you notice any increased responsiveness with the 221?
If you haven't noticed any change there, I'm not sure I'll upgrade. I haven't found the need for a rotating clip. I also don't think I need two connections.

I've not noticed the connectivity issues with my 214. Sometimes I do, right when I make the first connection, but it's usually pretty reliable.
As for the 221, I haven't noticed it either, other than when I power it on via NFC. I still have to hit the Send/End to get it to pair with Nexus, so it's not really saving much. I think as far as music is concerned, sometimes (with ether 214 or 221) it immediately fires up a music app by hitting Play/Pause, sometimes it doesn't.
As for a dual connection, the 214 supports it, which I didn't realize until having my EVO be the primary media device on the 214/221 (unchecking the "Connect to Phone" option under EVO's BT Settings) & making the Nexus the primary phone device (unchecking the "Connect to Media" option). Since I don't have any cell service on the EVO, I can't verify that it'd connect to the phone anyway, but I know I can get my Nexus to connect to both phone/media if the EVO BT isn't on or near.
audio clarity
how is the Bass and Audio Clarity? do you think it is good enough for gym?
Thanks for the review. It would be great if they put all these into a watch format with an extra speaker phone function.
Not so sure about the smart watch thing, but a Bluetooth headset in a watch format would be awesome.

Subjective. It works for me & I'm using Shure SCL2 IEMs (professional level). Either the 214/221 is plenty loud enough with good sealing in ears. If you want to further it, you could use a FiiO E5 headphone amp. It's about the exact same size as the 214 & will boost the audio fine. I use one on my desktop or when traveling on a plane.

I imagine you could just clip it to a wrist band or jogging arm band to get that.
One of the coolest aspects I've noticed lately of the 221 is how much easier it is to power on/off. Anyone with a 214 will tell you how hard it is to push that tiny button.
If your Galaxy Nexus has stock 4.0.4, can you please tell me whether it has a lag to play any sound other than the google music player and videos? MW600 is driving me nuts with this lag, I know it is 4.0.4 specific but I'm not sure if it is specific for the MW600 or if it affects other bluetooth headsets. The simplest way to test it is playing a game, audio lag is easily noticed while playing games...
P.s.: if you are listening to FM radio, is the phone audio still routed to the headset, and can you easily answer a call, or is it like MW600 where you need to manually switch the headset to the bluetooth mode and then answer the call?

SGS2 A403 (Litening Rom) ... in game it totaly have lag - delay is about half the second ... I got big delay even in MX player but only sometimes ... mostly it was with the "standard" delay
there is FM mode and bt mode ... switched with one position button ... it will automatically switch to BT when calling
Im missing android app for that device to bind buttons and more (like display managment) maybe I will write it but it wont be soon ... nokia.com/support also missing that devices (only mono headsets)
maybe bug but voice recording uses phone mic to record ... the sophisticated app is really needed
when someone calling with "turn on/off" you answer the call
its small but have own weight ... the watch option is good idea
Hi Laygo,
I just bought this device from expansys, and it is working great with music player but I keep losing connection when it works as a headset for calls. If I am 1 meter away from the phone it will connect and disconnect every few seconds. The main reason I bought this was to use it for calls
My phone is an htc Titan. Have you even encountered this issue? Any way to fix it or shall I just return it to expansys?
Many thanks.
The only problem I have is with NFC: when I power it on via NFC, it won't actually connect. I have to hit the phone button for almost a second (until you hear the single beep), let go & then it connects. Once connected, I do not have ANY issues with media or phone. Works flawlessly.
Multipoint
So can I receive calls on both the devices I connect or only one device can be used to receive calls ??
I have the model bh-214 and a galaxy I9100.
When I connect it to the aux in the car who is calling me hears echo. Is there a solution? Has tried it in the car as bluethooth handsfree?
Thanks.
Well, after awhile, the screen on my 221 has not legible at all. It might have something to do with the Texas summers or not, but I rarely use the screen. It is needed to pair/configure, but I've not used it hardly at all.
Still connects flawlessly with both my Evo/Nexus with my Evo purely as Media & Nexus as Phone and/or Media (if I have the Evo off).
Hey,
I've been looking for a decent bluetooth stereo headset to use with my own earphones and I like the look of the Nokia BH-221 but I've got a couple of concerns maybe you can help with:
Low volume issue
I've read that some people are having issues with the device not pushing out enough volume, some suggest even with the stock earplugs. Apparently the issue is even worse with mid range impedance headphones like I'd planned to use (70 ohms). Anyone here having similar issue with this device?
Track ID
I've been looking at headsets with a display (this one, MW600 & MW1) as I want to be able to control my music and see track names on my commute without getting my phone out. I've read that Nokia didn't implement AVRCP 1.3, instead they've implemented v1.0 then done some black magic to make the track information work with certain handsets (mainly Nokia's). This seems like a bit of a deal breaker for me as I want a BT headset that's standards compliant so even if the track ID doesn't work on my Nexus 4 & Nexus 7 now, when stock android updates the BT profiles to support AVRCP 1.3+ then it should all start working. What are your experiences with the track ID support?
If the two points above are real problems with the device then I'll probably pick up a MW600 or MW1 as an alternative. I just think the Nokia BH-221 looks so much nicer!
Thanks
A word of warning: This bluetooth device has serious compatibility issues with the Lumia 920.

Based on the reasons I mentioned above I went for the older device: MW600 - I'll post a youtube review once I've had a week or two with it.

Send it back now!
The worst designed headset ever and the quality is dreadful.
I got one to replace my 7 year old Nokia BH - 500 and thought it would be great after reading some reviews.
How wrong i was!
Whoever designed it needs sacking.
When you want to turn volume up it never works but when you don't want to touch it you will.
It is infuriatingly bad.
Then there is the sound
I took it back and got an exchange because i thought it was broken.
But it wasn't as the new one was the same.
Anything over 3/4 volume distorts and it is not even loud anyway.
100% on that is like 50% on the Nokia for loudness and in a completely different league for quality.
To the OP in your review of the 214 you mention numerous times how Loud it is but then you have just said in this review you use something else to bump up the volume?
So.. Why would you need to if its so loud?
Ever tried Nokia BH-500?
Its great, quality and loudness are amazing (with different headphones but how does it compare to 214?
This site says it is brilliant, i have just ordered another BH-500 from Amazon and am now wondering if i should change?
http://www.gadgetnutz.com/2010/07/12/nokia-bh-214-review/
Edit, tested back 2 back with same songs and earphones and BH-500 is better.

I have the same problem with my BH-221 in India. I just bought it yesterday. Did you find a solution for the brightness issue?
I apologize for re-posting -- I had originally posted this in the "Jellyverse FK23 ROM thread" and have yet to receive a response. I have parsed as many pages of threads as I can bear to read, and searched over and over. I refuse to believe that no one else uses bluetooth headsets!!
I recently tried several FK23 ROMs (including this one), by ODIN EL26 safe recovery and installing the ROM from SD.
Everything went great, running smoothly, etc... until I received my first phone call. Turned on my headset(s) and either can't hear the other party at all, or it is very muffled.
It appears to be an inherent problem in Android 4.1.* with various reports.
Have I missed something? Does anyone know if it would work to copy the bluetooth drivers/stack from a previous, working ROM? I really like the updates otherwise.
My headsets are 1) Jabra Supreme and 2) Plantronics Voyager Pro 3) Plantronics Voyager Pro HD
In regards to the problem being related to the "contact picture" or "mute bug" -- I tried several calls after a full wipe, with the stock leak, before even entering my Google account info, so no pictures (or phonebook) were present.
I was optimistic when I read this thread and comment #11 -- but I tried the suggested modifications with no luck.
Have tried disabling "Media audio" completely to no avail, although the A2DP media itself comes through fine (at least the clicks and such)
Thanks in advance!
Josh
Samsung h840 runs fine
Same issue with motorola HX550 BT earpiece
Having same issue with my earpiece on E4GT
Symptoms:
- digitized chipmunk sounds out of earpiece during call
- person on other end of call gets massive of static
+ media (on the other hand) sounds/works fine
this bug is NOT/B] present on FI27/earlier builds, and also not present on AOSP 4.1.1 build.
Noticed issue on FK09, FK23, and FL04
does same thing on friends E4GT with FK/FL builds
and friends earpiece (moto 720) works fine on his & my E4GT
My Plantronics Voyager works just fine.
Josh, I know nothing, so I use garwynn's one-clicks and so far no issues with anything on JB. I use the Aliph Jawbone and it has worked fine on fk09 fk23 and fl04 builds.
Maybe try that, if you haven't.

Thanks for the responses... Foodbaby, glad to have some affirmation of the issue, unfortunately I've yet to come to a determination/fix. Can someone who uses A2DP (media audio) on their headset, confirm that FK23 is working fine for them on phone calls?
P.S. The way to check and see if you are, in fact, using A2DP is go to to Settings -> Wireless -> Bluetooth and click on the settings "gear" to the right of the headset in question. See if you have "Phone" and/or "Media". If "Media" is present, then you're using A2DP.
I have a hunch, probably incorrect, that the A2DP is throwing a wrench in things. I've since flashed to the miui ROM but it's starting to irritate me. I'll probably try to use the Plantronics headset updater app and disable media audio on the headset. I know for sure that just "unchecking" the media box has no effect.
Headsets tested: Plantronics Voyager Pro, Plantronics Voyager Pro HD, Jabra Supreme, BlueAnt Q2

I have the exact same problem with FL04 and a Plantronics M50...
When I switched to FK23, I used the no data option and had to re setup my bluetooth connections (car, Bose Series 2, Jawbone Era). They didn't work initially, so I removed the pairing and redid them, and they worked fine the second time around. The only anomoly is that my car connection, and the Jawbone don't show in the list unless they are connected. Not a big deal since everything was working. Yesterday I got a JBL Flip bluetooth speaker (very nice portable speaker BTW), connected it, listened to some music, and though all was well... Until I tried using it for the speakerphone function. It would ring normally, but as soon as you connect, the caller gets nothing but horrible static, and there is no incoming audio at all. Then to top it off, after the phone has connected to the speaker, bluetooth phone audio will no longer work with any headset correctly until I reboot the phone. No issue with A2DP, but phone audio is borked until a reboot (I did a battery pull as well, but that might have no been necessary. I tested the speaker on another phone and it worked fine... I hope this is sorted out on FL16...
BTW, A2DP and phone audio work fine for me with the Bose, Jawbone and the car...
I had the same thing happen maybe I should try again without the jbl flip so that the plantronics discovery 975 will work
For now, I have just disabled the phone profile for the JBL Flip (I don't really need the speakerphone function anyway) and am just using the media profile. The setting is sticking for now and all works.
same exact issue here

after doing lots of reading and a little bit of luck finally all 3 of my bluetooth headsets working flawlessly.i hope this will fix your problems also...
first connect your bluetooth device to your phone and unpair your device.then turn your bluetooth device off then on phone go to settings>application manager>go to all>find bluetoothshare>click on clear cache if you can or/then clear data and turn bluetooth off and restart phone.do not turn it on till you reset your bluetooth device.
now reset your bluetooth device ( not every brand and make the same when it comes to reseting so do your research and reset your bluetooth device) and pair it again and things should work fine.
when i did my first try fixed the problem partially ( I heard them but they could not hear me) so I did it like 3 times and everything ended up working great.
some headsets like moto hx550 and moto elite flip have up to 6 settings when you are resetting them.I turned all those futures off when I reset mines so also might help to know...
my phone is S II and on FK23 4.1.2.
I did this fix on my brothers evo 4g lte and fixed his bluetooth problems also.
I love my phone more then ever now with this rom.It runs super fast and smooth.the only complain i have now is the battery drain.i have 4 batteries and I use an average of 2 to 3 batteries a day but i use my phone all day non stop due to my business and personal needs...
I also had the wifi dropping and reconnecting every 5 to 10 seconds like others.I fixed that by resetting the modem and the router ( turn them off and turn off everything that uses internet.wait at least 3 to 4 minutes and turn modem on first and wait for all the lights to come on modem and just then turn router on and reconnect everything one by one which you can connect your phone first if you like).
I wanna thx xda and the all the developers here.
I hope these fixes will work for you all and good luck...

Thanks Z,
This helped me with my HX550.
Defaulted the HX550, turned off all settings, then followed instruction approx 3 times, then it worked.
I was able to turn back on all the settings except the WBA(wide band audio) on the HX550. Dont know for sure, but turning WBA on reproduced the issue, then turning back off fixed it again.
Also, I'm currently on GA10 of the E4GT - rooted. issue was present on this build stock & rooted
Thx again YO!!!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT: dont go to GA10, there is a major call bug unrelated to bluetooth issue found in post on sxtp forums. would post , but apparently im too new to forums.
going back to FL16 and/or 24 to test bluetooth fix again. will post after

Same worked on FL16(JB):
-turned off WBA on HX550
-paired to phone, verify crappyness
-unpair
-clear blueshare data
-reboot phone
-pair to phone again, verify goodness
issue not present on FL24(ICS), assuming Sprint/Jellybean build issue. i dont think AOSP-4.1.1-A6 had this bug either.

I can finally use my Bluetooth again with Jelly Bean Thank you, Been driving around using speaker phone since first leak PITA but liked the new TW so much couldn't go back to ICS.:highfive::good:
Sorry I wasn't around.I'm glad it worked for you.You are very welcome...
My Bluetooth in car works great until I either get a phone call or try to make a call. It only comes through the phone. I've deleted both profiles, car and phone, reconnected, still nothing. When I pick up the phone there is no option to use the cars multimedia system. I'm on the pixel beta program, maybe that's the issue, I don't know. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. 2011 Toyota Camry.
Welcome to Google fixing bluetooth issues, ever since they said they fixed the bluetooth issues (I never had any) they broke them for me, since Feb update my bluetooth connections to every device I own drops the connections. I have repeatedly removed and readded, even at one point my phone lost every connection anyways and had to add them again.
THe call issue you raise happens to me on any bluetooth device, I generally have to switch bluetooth off and on again, or just switch to the phone no bluetooth. My car also looses all the information on the display from bluetooth, music will drop and if I press play it will start to play again with no info until I disconnect the phone and connect again, this happens in two of my cars
My Bluetooth has been fine all along, since the end of October when I got my phone, and is still fine now in the car or with anything else I've paired it with.
I wish I could offer some helpful suggestions. I hope the issue gets fixed for you. On a side note, I wonder which old Bluetooth standard your car is based on and if that has any impact on whether someone has an issue or not.

You could try changing AVRCP to v1.4 (in Developer options), then re-pair phone.
Last option would be to reflash Android using AFT (back to public stable)
That's what I was afraid of, I'll try the first and most likely end up doing the second.
