Question Any phone gimbals compatible with Pixel 6 pro? - Google Pixel 6 Pro

My mirrorless camera and the Zhiyun Weebil-S work well but I rarely carry the Weebil-S anywhere.
Curious if anyone has had success with Pixel 6 Pro and any phone gimbal such as DJI OM4/5, Zhiyun Smooth 4/Q3, or any Hohem models from Amazon. Would be nice if the app actually works (saw on the DJI forum that the Mimo app currently shows a black screen when recording).
I've never used any of these gimbals but though I'd give it a try with the Pixel 6 Pro. Any thoughts?

The zhyiune made some new stuff check out the smooth 5 and check out YouTube there's like a few people that make videos about the gimbals

Thanks. I scoured YouTube and the internet and most of the reviewers say that compatibility is worse with Android compared to IOS. And several pages mention incompatibility with Android 11 and 12. Most details are vague. Smooth 5 looks interesting though.

I would use filmic pro or any camera app and lets see what that smooth 5 app looks like if I get it later on I have 2 of zhyiune gimbles for now lol

Overall love

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Xiaomi Mi MIX, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Xiaomi Mi MIX is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
by far one of the best phones I have had in ages
I agree. Lets say I like it so much, I bought my 3rd one couple days ago. (Sadly have broken 2 since launch) Had s8 for few days after 2nd one broke, and I could not do it. Bought my 3rd one
i do same thing! i sleep right next to it....hahaha. frickin' awesome phone
It's not for everyone, but it's the coolest phone I've ever had. Love when people ask what it is and I tell them you have to import it. And that jawdropping display
The best thing about this phone has to be the design and feel in hand. It's stupidly slippery without a case, but the design is just so nice. Philippe Starck did a damn good job designing this.
also to me, I have buy again this as the only phone in use,
changed Note 8, S8 etc.. to come back to Mi Mix
Been with it for a while now and, except for that terrible proximity sensor which constantly forces me to manually turn off the screen every time I make or take a call, it's absolutely splendid.
Everything's smooth, the screen is gorgeous and it's just small enough to fit into both my VR headset and my Gamesir Gamepad.
Streaming PC games to it via Moonlight is a pleasure.
For those that wonder, I'm running on LOS nightly.
MIUI got banished from it the day I received it.
Best phone I've ever had. Coming from Honor Note 8 and my wife has a S8 plus and by far the Mi Mix is the best for speed, looks and quality. The only downside is that the phone is really slippery and can get destroyed if dropped, we have to cover this beauty with a case
Best Phone I've ever had, coming from a Nexus 6P. The (original) Mi Mix has just the best design available on the market of all phones, regardless of OS (even if the new iPhone X might have a near-borderless screen at the bottom the thing at the top is utterly ugly and while using a phoen you are looking at the top and not at the bottom...). Hopefully @pappschlumpf will continue to supply RR-updates for our device for a long time
And the biggest flaw - the camera - can easily be fixed with software: with the modded gcam version with hdr the result is as good as it was with my 6P!
I love the look and feel of it too.
The most awesome feeling Phone I have had.
I have owned most Samsung notes so far.
On the Mix, I just wish I could get Google apps to load on it in Australia.
Or I will have to replace it with a Note 8
It only has the Chinese software.
Any clues or help would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Xiaomi has already released ROM for international users which include a google app store. feel free to contact me if you can't find any.
Loved it when I first saw it a year ago. Have it since yesterday. Great phone,
premium build. Even after one year the phone is still inspired and inspiring.
The build quality is superb the ceramic frame is gorgous. I'll take this over
the 18:9 nonsencse any day.

So far so good, I'm using Linage OS.
I simply love my phone after updating to Lineage OS and installed the ported google hdr+ camera app. I just love how my phone takes better pictures at low light situations after installing the Google HDR+ camera app

Its an amazing phone, for sure my favorite even over my Nexus 6p. Love the looks and all that offers what a great device. With addition of the GcMod camera port its almost perfect now
I ran the MIX for 4 months on stock MIUI (including the latest Nougat update) and found it perfectly alright. I just used Action Launcher instead of the default and it worked like a charm. This was partly because there were some kinks in the unlocking procedure and partly to test it out.
Battery life was excellent despite leaving bluetooth active all the time (I have a Yeelight lamp and main bulb) and despite many comments to the contrary I found the stock camera to produce excellent results even in low light, and was especially impressed with how well it dealt with flash images at close range.
I finally got peed off with the updates of bloatware that I never used and the fact that Xiaomi had automatically backed up a load of my data to the cloud and am now running LOS nightlies.
Without question the best mobile I've ever owned.

You recommend a different ROM? I Ordered my phone, coming from a mi 5s plus, in which I was happy with stock firmware
Lineage OS is the goto ROM of choice, but I'm currently running Resurrection Remix because I wanted to try Oreo. Just head to the Xiaomi Mix page of the forum to see your options.

This phone vs Asus ROG Phone 2

What do you guys think? I am leaning towards ROG Phone 2
ROG Phone 2 is missing some LTE bands. Check it out before you decide.

I don't mind missing VoLTE mad WiFi calling .. I am just excited about that 120hz display and that battery
90hz /120hz
Only a hand full of games support either.
The battery is a big difference and the triggers.
That being said the camera on the OnePlus will make the rog look awful.
I'm conflicted as well. Here in India both of them(8gb ram+128gb rom) cost the same (Rs 38,000~$530). Rog 2 has a 120hz panel, a bigger battery, THE HEADPHONE JACK, a dedicated cooling system while the op7t has a better camera and community/dev support. I'm hella confused rn :/

This is the same thought I have. I'm pretty sure that the ROG won't get any dev support unless a lot of development interested guys opt for ROG instead of 7T since they've same price. At the same time, even OnePlus phones had great development support, the 7 is still very far behind any OnePlus phone. Also for last few years I don't have any interest in gaming. The only high-end game I was interested in those times was Asphalt. That's why I'm thinking why should I go for a game-centric phone.
Also in the upcoming Amazon sale the price of 7 Pro is 44,999 for 6GB version. If it is able to add another discount with SBI card it can be grabbed for 42,999. But I don't like the curved screen, also not sure about reliability of front camera sliding. As you said too much confusion. :/

Same confusion here.
I really like both the phones but feel that ROG II is a lot better on paper than the 7T, and since the price is the same, why not buy it. But 2 concerns make me want to buy the 7T over ROG II. Those are:
1. Overall UI experience (7T has to be definitely better, I assume, since they've placed extra effort on Design and the smoothness as overall, and also maybe because ROG II has just stock Android 9 UI [from ZenFone 6z] without any optimization)
2. Custom Dev support (which am pretty sure is where 7T will shine, but for now am less concerned about it because of HDR and any other such features that will be rendered useless once the phone is bootloader-unlocked)
3. After-Sales Service (again OnePlus might be a definite win, but only because I don't know of the current situation with the ASUS after-sales service, if someone can enlighten me, please!!)
But there are more reasons to buy ROG Phone II over 7T:
1. 120Hz Display w/240Hz Touch Response (although some user was reporting that he/she was able to see some flickering or graininess with the 120Hz RR, none of the Youtubers reviews mentioned any such thing so might be a false-positive, MKBHD though pointed out that the screen would light up a bit when trying to fingerprint unlock)
2. Headphone jack w/Hi-Res Audio output
3. Front-facing dual speaker with the NXP Amplifiers (They are really good from all the reviews that I've watched)
4. 6000mAh battery (just massive and a kind of a must nowadays, I like that they didn't try to compromise at all)
I have been into Android Rooting etc. ever since I got my Xperia U (my 1st ever Android phone) and have been into it till now. Earlier I would just get my new phone, dig into XDA forums and start following the bootloader unlocking process and rooting my phone if it was available. Heck, I rooted my HTC One M8 and OnePlus 3T on day 1/2.
Please provide some inputs if anybody has any recent experience with Asus Mobile Service Centres

When an update from Asus comes, it resolves 5 and adds 6 issues.

Gcam can be tweaked to perfection, but it's not a simple task mate, the drivers, hardware limitations, theres so much that can go wrong and only a handful of people who know their stuff.
Has Asus released all the code for the ROG?
have only owned the Asus prime and that was a biblical pain in the backside to work with, had some help from a talented guy over there though but I got lucky.
I'm not bashing the ROG either, I think it's a bold move and one that I really want to work, I think we're at a point now where CPU /GPU combinations have got so much grunt it's crazy, so many pc games would run on the ROG 1 never mind the ROG 2.
How's the TV out on it? Any latency issues? Can it output at 90hz/120hz?
I think that would be impressive.
You should try my pc gaming on android guide, I think you'd love it. Plus you'd be getting the maximum refresh rate.
I wrote guides for playing 3 classic actual of games locally on android. I'd be interested to see what they run like, the OnePlus 5 could run them perfectly, even with TV out via displaylink.
I'll see if I can find the link, the guys on xda did an article about it.
Games are
Quake 3 arena (works online too)
Return to castle Wolfenstein (not sure about online)
Doom 3 (not sure about online, but I doubt anyone plays it anymore)
Don't need to be rooted either iirc.

If you could link me to that guide, will be happy to check. I don't have TV and Cables etc. here right now so that's not possible.
If someone is really interested in gaming and undying battery back up he should have no 2nd thought about going with rog 2. I am oneplus fan but i miss two things in my op7t that rog 2 has, 6000 mah battery and headphone jack, specially the bigger battery.

Note 10 plus vs oneplus 7 pro

Hi guys.
I have an op 7 Pro since June and I'm thinking about to switch to note 10 plus.
Does it worth the move?
Anyone who have both devices?
Before oneplus 7 pro I had s10 plus and p30 pro.
Thank you
May the power of Oneplus 7 Pro be with you
I don' know if you want to start a controversy about which device is worse or better, or anything, but then, The S pen is the fundamental reason why the note series exists, the s pen is the core of the of it, so I always answer this question by asking another, how much interest do you have on using the s pen? And, moreover, anyone thinking about a note series device should first get know about all its capabilities, in this way, you will find your answer, if for any reason you find that the spen is not that atractive for you, or consider it as just a gimmick, then a note series device most definitively is not for you, as there are some other devices that offer similar performance , to put it simple,
note series=S pen

I'm still with 7 pro. I tried note 10 plus and no 90hz is no buy for me..
Night and day difference in response, fluidity etc
May the power of Oneplus 7 Pro be with you
I had the 7 pro. I liked that the phone was rootable, the fingerprint reader was way faster than on the note. It felt a little bit faster.
The reason i switched to the note was the pen and that it has wireless charging. Also that the auto brightness on the 7 pro was crap and annoying. To me the refresh rate wasnt that big of a deal or noticeable.
If you need the pen and wireless charging then its worth the trade. Small features make a good experience.
I had the 7 Pro. It was a great phone. I just wanted to go back to a Note. The wireless charging was one plus for the Note. It plays better with my Samsung Watch. The dual sims in the 7 Pro was a big advantage to me. The deal I got for the Note 10+ and the high resale of the 7
Pro made me switch.
Just made the switch myself. Had the pro for about 6 months, great phone, at first I noticed the difference in screen refresh rate, but a week in and I don't notice it anymore.
I much prefer the physical esthetics of the 10+ over the rounder pro. A square screen for me just feels way more natural.
I like the increase in battery life so far. It isn't huge but big enough that I get a full day now vs getting to evening time and needing to top up.
That said the charging time of the pro is much faster for me. I could get 50 percent in 20 minutes or less.
The auto brightness of the pro was still a big issue for me at times. It got real annoying.
Overall I am happy with the switch. Still have my pro, not sure if I'll sell it or keep it as an extra. It's a fantastic phone.
The only change I wish the note had was the higher refresh rate. I don't necessarily miss it, but this phone with say a 120hz refresh for me would literally be perfect.

Smart select with spen is very underrated feature.
I like fully featured phones and enjoy my note.

Two weeks in now, and I don't miss my 7 Pro at all. I was worried that the software would be my issue, but after switching the bloated carrier firmware for the unbranded version I have has zero complaints. Working like a dream for me!

Hey guys,
I just made the switch yesterday. Had the 7 pro for 2 weeks and since I am super sensitive about the display quality and brightness I decided to get the Note 10 plus. I have been a Sammy user for a long time now but I honestly feel Samsung is still ****ty with their software. For example on OnePlus I really liked how simply you could change the icon shape, change the notification bar settings icons to the custom color you want, even apply any other themes from the play store. You must be now thinking it all can be done in Samsung too but not really to the precision of OnePlus and definitely not so convenient. The FP scanner is really slow on Samsung. And one more major thing I was disappointed with is how they have taken out the different display color settings now on OneUI 2.0. I mean there are only 2 modes now. Earlier they had Basic and a Photo mode which would bring the saturation down, but now no way to do that. And finally the 90hz. Like someone mentioned here, I really didn't think it was a big deal after a weeks usage but after getting back to Note I can feel the difference again. But nevertheless I am happy with the display on Note 10 plus and I think I am going to keep it for sometime. Also few things that I didn't like on OnePlus like the rear camera quality, the overall weight and of course the display except for 90hz were the main reason I made the switch. I can't say I am completely happy yet but hopefully I will be.

Question Help me choose my next phone

Hi everyone, so i have a Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, and while it is a decent phone, MIUI and the various other issues of this phone made me lose trust in Xiaomi/Redmi and i want to upgrade to a more premium brand/phone.
my options are:
Pixel 6 pro
iphone 13 pro
Oppo Reno 5 Pro
wait for pixel 7 pro
S21 Ultra ( i dislike the s22 Ultra look/grip)
Oneplus 10 pro NOPE
I don't really game on my phone, but battery longevity and top notch performance with best cameras are my requirements but since am listing all premium phones i doubt any will have issues in those points right?
i was thinking of just going for an Iphone 13 Pro, but the switch from android to apple is worrisome as am used to the freedom of customization that Android allows, i am also a Flutter developer and debugging apps on android is much quicker/easier than on iOS, but i can't help but see the iphone 13 series just an all around premium, the look, the grip, its very different.
But if i want to go for a Pixel, shall i just wait for Pixel 7 pro when its released? or just get Pixel 6 Pro
Am very undecided...

Thank you for your response,
I've never had experience with oxygenos, is it comparable to MIUI?
Also doesn't the pixel 6 pro have several issues with hardware since the pixel 6 pro is the first phone to use googles in-house processor?
I am curious to see what the Nothing Phone delivers.....should be announced soon...

I like the clean android experience, so Pixel and OnePlus are my options. With Pixel 6 Pro bugs and OnePlus planning to retire OxygenOS, I wanted to check if I can survive iPhone and I couldn't. I am planning to flash Evolution X ROM on my OnePlus 8T and try it out for few days.
Pixel 6 Pro Bugs:
Missed calls (Sometimes I don't get a call when my friends try reaching me, no voice mail, no missed call. Happens after a factory reset as well. I miss important calls as well)
Consistent Bluetooth disconnection from my car.
Occasional frame drops. Animations are smooth on Pixel 6 Pro, but it has occasional frame drops.
Finicky fingerprint.
iPhone issues for me:
Terrible notifications management
No YouTube Vanced
Screen TIme bug and a few other issues
it is up to you to decide. we cant decide what phone is best for you as we all look at phone differently. you be your own judge.

If you want something that just works and you use it in the way it was designed then the iPhone is a good candidate. If you want something that you can get to how you want it to look the the Pixel 6 Pro would still be my pick of Android devices.
Jumped from OnePlus as they have massively dropped the ball. Their devices are no longer cheap and their software has become very buggy and even slower to get updated.
I'm having the P6P and honestly I'm thinking of switching to samsung.
The phone is good don't get me wrong, but the battery life for me has been quite bad, considering always high mobile network battery drain(40% rn, and no workaround has helped me with that).
It falls down to your preference of which android skin you prefer the most, all of them are great in every requirement that you need, iphone 13pm wins the battery for sure, pixel is better on cameras if you're the kind of people that wants absolutely the most details possible on any level(It's better but not by a lot comparing to other phones).
Performance wise you won't notice difference between any of those, it can be again just the OS being laggy.
I don't know pixel just feels to simple for me, there's not a lot of customization in here, so I've had to root to gain more of what I want from a phone, install the addon features module for that and a couple of others.
So far yes, you can get lucky with the unit, and if you don't mind that pixel is a little bit more simple(kind of like iphone) in comparison with others, you can go for it.
The only 2 things that I hugely dislike about this phone is the battery life and just the simple OS, but I knew what I was going for so it's my fault that I've chose a phone with such limited and simple amount of settings.
I would wait for next samsung/pixel for now, and about current pixel, I cannot say for sure since I'm struggling with battery life, so cannot recommend a phone that I have problems with myself.
The /oneplus/oppo just don't cut it because of their android skins, iphone is better surely, but that's the phone that you'd want if you just want to buy it and use it without thinking about anything else.
I'd say wait and see what the P7P offers if you're not in a rush. Chances are it's going to just be a minor bump compared to the 6, as mobile tech has pretty much reached a peak for the time being. Unless the 2nd gen Tensor completely blows away the 1st gen, but even then probably won't see much difference in terms of every day usage. You could then just grab the p6p, which will probably have a nice discount by that time.

Pixel 6 Pro Bugs:
Missed calls (Sometimes I don't get a call when my friends try reaching me, no voice mail, no missed call. Happens after a factory reset as well. I miss important calls as well)

That is actually an issue on the network side, not the phone. Basically the issue is that you connect to one network for data, and it needs to switch to another network for voice. Sometimes that network carrying voice is just not available and the call breaks. For example, if you have an LTE network that doesn't support VoLTE, then when a call comes in it has to switch down to HSPA. I've heard that "5G" networks are in a non-voice state, so they need to fall down to VoLTE or HSPA for a call. The solution is to lock your phone into a network that supports both data and voice. Like LTE with VoLTE enabled.
I had this problem *all the time* with my Pixel 2XL, which my network never authorized for VoLTE.

That was DEFINITELY a problem for a while, but it was a software issue that has been fixed.

Um, hardly worth mentioning.

Finicky fingerprint.

Fingerprint is probably not a good unlock method anyway, since it isn't clear if it is protected by the US 5th amendment or similar anti-self-incrimination laws in countries outside the US. GrapheneOS offers a hybrid unlock method that fully disables fingerprint on the lockscreen, but leaves it enabled for other places within the OS.

Well, when it comes to hardware part sort of, but not so on software side and features/possibilities

Question I have made a video with the Google Pixel 6 PRO and I would like to know your opinion.

This video is made for the company I work for, and for the first time I decided to do it entirely with the pixel 6 pro to test its camera. Apart from the edition that I'm not too good at, do you think he makes good videos?
Excellent. Good quality. It's very decent. I love the production from the pixel 6 pro
