Would you ever buy a oneplus device again?

I don't know about you but my answer is NO. This thing did not live up to my expectations at all. The specs read like they are all premium but the device is low quality at best. Using the device is an actual nightmare. The camera is a blurry mess, the GPS never locks, the file system is crap and freezes up when you try to load things. I bought into the gimmick and I lost... Anybody want to buy this piece of junk for a low price so I can buy an iphone and just have something that works?

OH... the bluetooth constantly bugs out... another thing that annoys me every single day.

I like the phone just don't love it. My Pixel 2 XL still feels better when I pick it up. What chaps my hide is when my photos disappear or when my phone app just disappears when I'm talking to someone.

The 7T is just perfect. But I won't buy newer phones if they have display a la "Samsung Edge". I hate the curved one.

I found the 5T to be super premium build quality. It's amazing. The Pixel 2 XL I bought at the same time was absolute junk. It had a noticeably poorer build quality and a really bad OLED screen.
I am getting a 7T Friday and will see if they maintained the great build quality (although I had an 8 Pro I returned for a week and it had excellent build quality like my 5T). I can't see where the OP is coming from regarding it not feeling premium? Is it just an OS perspective? I only ran OOS on my 5T for a couple weeks before switching exclusively to AOSP.

Sorry but this is nonsense! your argument is vague and silly. what is "low quality"? I still have my oneplus one, the oneplus 3t, oneplus 5t, all working good and now a 7t, which looks great and is great....

Absolutely yes! I find my 7T is perfect and worthy for the price paid. I don't have any issues or hardware errors.
Rooted and using a custom kernel

I don't know actually. I find the OnePlus phones to be still very good, but I'm kinda disappointed on how the team is struggling to keep them updated since they began to release lot of phones every year.
Plus, I like the improvements they made with the camera on the new OP8 Pro, but I want a phone that is totally comparable to iPhones/Galaxy phone in that area if I have to spend 900+ euros.

The 7T is literally perfect.

This is my first OP phone and I'd say - yes. I hope there'll be new OP phone without curved display.

If they release reasonably priced phones with flat screens. The price for the 8-series is too much considering it's a tencent phone.

I would gladly pay $1000 for a flat screened 8 Pro. But it doesn't exist and the S20+, even ignoring the terrible OS skin, is $1350 from Samsung unlocked. That is just too much for basically the same phone and a crippled software experience. And the S20+ has a curved screen as well! Although not as bad as the 8/8 Pro.

I have been with OP for the last 3 months, 7T is my first OP. Feel happier than with the other chinese brand X (4 years with them).
I recommend the OP, but please no pop up camera and curve edge.

I'm having the exact same issues they are. Since most are software related I was hoping updates and custom ROMs could fix,a real shame there isn't any development for this device

For me 7T is almost perfect. I love it. If only battery and average stock camera indoor pic were better. I love to tinker my phone so with gcam , camera issues are solved ?. Since I don't game , so battery is enough for me to last full day with 20% left. YMMV.
I went from OP2 to HTC U11 to OP7T. Have no regrets. Will purchase OP9T if there are no better alternative. I change my phone every 2 years.

Yes, there are as far as I know just 2 ROMs out there... Neither work with MMS on Verizon.
If you have another recommendation would love to hear it- for me just looking for stability and speed.

Yep, had three... OnePlus One, 6T, 7T (bought the 7T when the price went down, sold the 6T).
I don't buy them when they first are released. I wait until a new one is about to be released, then pick up the previous years model
typically at a reduced price.

There are three ROMS available right now. I would recommend Omni for speed and stability, but not sure about your specific use-case.

IDK, no matter what setting I pick, the ringtone for google messages does not work and the do not auto update option in playstore does not work. This is only an issue on the 7T.

If you want it to install roms forget it, the developers have it very abandoned. For example, no developer has compiled a beta version for Android 12, But if you want to use it normally, I really recommend the 9 more because the 9 Pro with the Rom stock the battery is ****.

yea im big on roms i might wait for a good deal on a one plus 8pro

As with most other devices, A12 roms are unlikely to be available until after the OOS 12 ROM is released (GA, not Beta).
There are lots of good A11 ROMs out there, and the phone itself (LE2125) is excellent. The stock OOS 11 is also very very good.
But hey, doesn't affect me one way or another what phone/ROM you use. I'm very happy with what I have!

A12 OOS official isn't out yet and most devs actually prefer to use finished sources before releasing anything to public. I'm sure some are building ROM's off the beta builds for testing but not releasing them. Also, only some people seem to have issues with the battery, heat, etc. I (and others) have no such issues with our 9pros even on stock OOS. I would suggest the phone to anyone honestly.

OnePlus 8 pro Oxygen OS too will get worse because of google BS.

Been using the device for over 3 months and can confidently say that nothing makes the device worth the price. The phone heats up with general use. Battery life is pretty ordinary. Not much into camera, screen and performance are the only saving grace.
If I was into ROMs, I would buy a device with the best price to specs ratio like mi 11 series or ROG 5 or even the standard 9 and upcoming 9RT. But avoid the 9 pro at all cost.

The answer for you will depend on your priorities ;-)
I needed a phone recently and found an open box 9 Pro on ebay within my budget. I wouldn't have bought this phone at msrp. My experience has overall been positive. The only time I've overheated the phone was transferring about 80 GB from my old phone before realizing both were on a heat soaked surface. Putting the phone where it could breathe resolved this. Even with extended gaming sessions, the phone has run cool since. Battery life more than meets my daily needs. PD support is ideal as that's what my pc uses at work, so I don't worry about carrying a charger. A 10 min top up at 45W from PD or 65W from the stock charger is a game changer. Going from 20-90% in ~12 mins on the included charger while making coffee & breakfast is great!
Note on battery life: I tend to power off my device for a few mins a couple times each month for consistency. Especially after the primary Google Assistant app updates (this one).
I'm a photography enthusiast and have been generally happy with the 9 Pro IQ. If you do end up getting this phone or the OP9, take some time to review the different options (like Photo, Pro, Portrait) and settings - they are extensive and can be fine tuned for your use case. Be sure to take some test shots to dial this in.
The biggest shortcoming is the selfie cam, which has low dynamic range, easily washing out. I installed gcam MGC by BSG (currently v8.1.101) and it takes much better selfie shots. For the rear facing sensors, the stock camera app vs. gcam HDR+ generally show parity.
My partner has a Pixel 5 so using her phone for selfies is also an option. I prefer the FOV on the OP tho.
The screen is gorgeous! I tried 60 hz vs 120 hz with lpto and noted little effect on battery life, so have remained on the latter. I've found FHD+ meets my needs as the screen size shows little benefit bumping up to QHD+. I appreciate the stock Screen Calibration options and find Advanced > AMOLED Wide Gamut gives the color palette I prefer.
Two things requiring workarounds for my use:
a) My previous phone had a notification light, which I used more than I realized. Rather than turn the screen on periodically, I enabled the Always on Display during my waking hours, problem solved.
b) Historically I've traveled internationally for work, so having dual sims has been a must. It looks like there is work from XDA devs underway to enable this if OP doesn't themselves. Otherwise my partner has an old mobile hotspot from her job I'll commandeer when/if work travel resumes.

In hindsight; you may be right.
But, still, thermal issues are for sure my biggest gripe.
Besides, yeah, I do feel it is a good device, but getting it over Oneplus 9 or 9RT would depend on the user's preferences.

If your into rooting and modding, warp charging then yes. If you don't root then get a Pixel 6 Pro.

Performance will be close at worst but when it comes to software and features and picture quality the Pixel 6 is on a whole different level. That's just my opinion.

Nobody really knows yet. Since Pixel 6 series is using a new in-house cpu (Tensor) and there are no reviews out yet (product ships on 10/28) so no one really knows what it's going to really perform like. I also would be curious if/how easy it will be to root or unlock bootloader since it's a totally different CPU architecture.

I came from a OnePlus 3T. Overall I think this phone is great, the camera and functionality is slick. I also appreciate that having the phone on max performance levels, screen brightness and sync enabled will impact the battery.
I like that it has an active community here, and on the OnePlus forums. I've logged a few bugs and evidenced how to recreate them. Am I unhappy about the companies communication style, not being open about throttling etc, yes. However I understand that people are human and make mistakes. It's still a young device released 6 months ago. Let's see where we are in a year from now

Funny enough, I was thinking recently if I should get the 8 pro as well. Specifically for rooting/custom ROMs. I'm currently using a OP6T (rooted with CrDroid ROM), I can literally get the 8 Pro for free with a screen protector + case and some cash left from my £500 Amazon giftcard. But I just don't know if I should get a 8 pro or not and I can't justify the purchase tbh

Be careful. I am not able to send text msgs randomly I am on Sprint/T-Mobile and nothing works. It's why I'm trying to get the 9 pro.

I've purchased a renewed OnePlus 9 Pro from Amazon and will try it out. However, I am not committed to keeping the device yet. My concerns are likely similar to many: ColorOS as a replacement for OOS. I also have reservations about purchasing phones from country-controlled corporations. However, this is personal preference and no offense to others. Any input to the survey would be appreciated.

If you're not going to use a custom ROM, run far away.

I have just last week bought a new OP 9 Pro for an amount equivalent to $580 roughly. I had OOS out of the box and now ver.11.2.10.10 after updating and not ColorOS. Based on the usage of about 3 days, I am happy with my purchase. No overheating or other bugs noticed so far . I had a OP 3 before for 6 years.

You're on OOS11, that's why you're happy with it. As long as you're cool being on outdated software on a flagship device, you will probably continue to enjoy it. Everything goes south when OOS12 comes into the equation though.

I am yet to read about the issues with OOS12. Once I do, I will decide about moving to it or blocking it. I had A11 custom ROM on my OP 3 and I am happy with A11. I am not mad about upgrading just for the sake of it. My philosophy is why meddle with it if it is running and performing to my satisfaction.

OnePLus 9 Pro is still a Awesome phone.
On colorOS you will have notification bug, because notigication is made to work on chinese app/market. Not google. And clock alarm did not ring if the phone is power off (this is a problem. I have to wake up at 05.30 for work & i like to keep the phone off at night ).
On OxygeOS i did not have any issue on 12 or 12.1, but i did not root, unlock botloader.

I've been rocking OP9P le2125(which is my first OP) for about 5-6 months and I don't regret it whatsoever.
I Never gave oos, nor coloros a chance so can't say much about stock firmware besides reverting back to stock due to user error flashing this n that aimlessly.
I've always been a custom rom kinda guy ever since I discovered rooting existed many moons ago. The XDA forum is thriving with copius amounts of stable and actively maintained roms. Makes me feel like a kid in a candy store!
Forgive me once, for I'm getting a bit off course of this threads original topic.
IMO, the op9p is still a fantastic choice overall. My reasoning for buying op9p has easily been justified and continues to appease my andriod flasholism sort of speak lol.

We have just bought one each. Replacing our Xiaomi Mi 11. Even though these phone of the same time...and chipset, this phone is hugely better in every way. It feels new, fast and fresh, even though they're both SD888.
Antutu score shoe only a small jump...but everything is slick. Battery life is better. In fact, on these phones, battery life is improved by leaving 120hz on. The reason....adaptive refresh rate. When needed...the refresh rate drops to 1hz. Leave it is 60hz....and it is locked to 60hz.
We have the 12GB, 256 GB version,EU.

Its absolutely worth it. Plenty of ROMs if that's your thing and the stock firmware is really good.
I came from the Galaxy S20 with their bloated One UI and don't regret getting the OP9 Pro at all

In the past 2 weeks, I broke two phone displays while traveling on holiday = vacation in US = Without insurance which I have never forgone on a device since 2011. I have never broken a phone or display going way back to 1999 flip phones (read old man). As such, I was way overdue, I guess.

I couldn't tell you about RoMs. Personally, I find OxygenOS 12 to be perfectly ok. It is slick....and nearly stock. I have rooted mine with Magisk and removed some bits and pieces....but mostly I root to install Adaway....which is a must for me.
I think you will be happy with stock.

StagOS 12.1 is incredible. I have zero desire to go back to stock. The only major issue it has is that after a reboot, the microphone and in-call volume control don't work right on my 9 until I make a call and engage and then disengage the speakerphone once. It works fine after that and hopefully this bug will be fixed soon as it's one of the first to be based on OOS12 firmware and it will take time to fully sort out. I have been running it for a few days and the battery life is insane and no sluggish performance like OOS because the SoC throttle isn't in this kernel.
I never really messed with font sizes on stock but StagOS is like Pixelized AOSP and I just tested and can confirm that both font and UI size adjustments increase the size of the font in the status bar.
Sorry for your luck with the broken screens! I have yet to do that going back to my first phones - a cheap Cricket Audiovox I had for a few days, a Nokia 5190 my mom gave me, and the Nokia 3390 Gold I bought because it had AOL Instant Messenger back in 2001, so I stopped getting insurance too. I know it's probably just a matter of time but I do put a Spigen Tough Armor on every phone I get for those times dropping the phone happens and so far, it's been more than enough.

The '84 was spectacular fun. I got so many speeding tickets. It was unbelievably nimble.

Thank you for checking the font size in status bar! I am shocked (not really) that S22 doesn't adjust. I had the Note9 which I loved but it had the same issue with OneUI 2.0 and hoped they had changed this.
I need to get comfy with custom ROMs again. It has been so long since I used one as my daily.

Flashing ROMs gets addictive lol. If I had a 9 Pro, I would be flashing it all of the time because of the huge wealth of ROMs that were ported for the 9 Pro and not the 9.

Let it be known though that if you choose to go custom, one major thing you won't be able to have is the oos camera. Decent amount of ppl stay stock or even revert back to stock just to have it. However, there are plenty of alternatives. Along with the plethora of roms available, so is an abundance of gcam(google camera) mods. Other than that, really just minor bugs here and there(purely my opinion). that tend to get addressed fairly quickly thx to the amazing minds and talents of the devs, builders, maintaners, etc... That create such Magisk us end users get to experience. The support within the op9p community is nothing short of amazing.
I'd recommend maybe surfin op9p Telegram channels to get more insight of the community and just how active it truly is.

I would say so (worth buying it in 2022) because it has 2X the storage of the 10 Pro model supported in US and 12GB RAM (vs. 8GB), a metal frame (vs. a much more accidentally foldable/crunchable plastic one...) and couple other things. Snapdragon 888 is still a high end processor. But to each their own. I studied differences hard between 9 Pro and 10 Pro (and few other mfgr's models) and decision was easy for me.
Before I had even decided on which phone (or brand) I wanted, good custom ROM's support was a non-negotiable. Especially LineageOS for my own reasons.
As far as camera quality I am one of those "weirdos" that thinks if you want a pro photographer quality digital camera THEN BUY A PRO PHOTOGRAPHER QUALITY DIGITAL CAMERA... don't expect your smartphone to be one or you are just going to be disappointed.
Yes that is just my opinion but I've seen a lot of sales hype over the years -- and at the end of the day it comes down to how well a phone's cameras are supported even by the vendor's own software developers. So don't hold your breath -- and even more so, don't expect android developers who can only "make" a few bucks per license sold and compete in the app market to come to your rescue and support your phone mfgr's choice of camera sensors any better than the mfgrs themselves do. It is truly great and amazing how well so many independent Android camera software developers support so many different phone models when they can, and the open development platform is one of the reasons I will always choose Android over the others -- but my point is the indie camera software devs do not always have great incentive or an uninhibited shot at doing so. Sometimes the camera hardware is very deliberately just a black box...
I am glad this phone's cameras have some decent software support options (stock OOS or otherwise) but I am not surprised there is basically nothing that supports them perfectly. This isn't my first flagship model lacking in the camera software support department.... our last phones were LG V20's...
In my opinion you just have to decide whether a phone's price is worth only mediocre camera support even if it has high end camera sensors. That is usually going to be the case. AT BEST. Because the hardware vendor is most likely going to "move on" before you want them to.
(because we continue to reward this type of business model and development model with more business, ie, we tolerate it and keep buying more of their unfinished products).
I'm just being realistic.
We ran V20's for as long as we did (~4 years) for their other features, which basically no longer exist in newly manufactured phones. Like a removable/replaceable battery, headphone jack onboard, etc.
And the sooner you figure out your phone's cameras aren't there for YOUR enjoyment the better off you are gonna be...
But if you want a brand new one and you haven't pulled trigger yet, you better hurry, or somebody is gonna be laughing all the way to the bank...

Tried multiple, but I have problems with recording audio.
Equal to no sound on snapchat and camera recording.
To OP:
I were very pleased with OnePlus 8 Pro, but I cracked it and had to buy a OnePlus 9 Pro. Worst thing after android 12 came. Had some problems on 11, but its messy on 12. Even considering apple for next phone.
If i were to buy today, I would have bought samsung even knowing of all the bloatware.

Use the OOS11-based StagOS until the C.48 ROMs get fixed. The new firmware always poses new problems but I am sure they will get sorted quickly. The OOS11-based StagOS was great too though.
It's too bad that the fix I found for my microphone and speaker issues on my 9 doesn't work for the 9 Pro. Whenever I reboot, I just have to load the stock dialer, make a call, turn the speakerphone on, and turn it back off, then everything works fine on StagOS C.48. Unfortunately when I told someone with a 9 Pro to try it, they said it didn't work.

I have to switch from my beloved Google Pixel 3 XL to a new Phone. Since i love the pure Android experience i would love to buy another Pixel Phone 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254.
So my question is for all those who have bought/used a Pixel 6Pro. How happy are you with the phone?

This is a difficult question to answer simply because everyone uses their phones differently. For me, the Pixel 6 Pro is 'fine'. It does its job. It has a very good camera. There is no lag. I have it rooted so no ads, which is great. Since I've upgraded pretty regularly, going from the 4 to the 5 to the 6 hasn't been any kind of amazing upgrade for me. But since you're coming from a 3, it certainly will feel like a pretty decent upgrade.
The only complaint I have is that it sometimes restarts on its own. Typically at night while it's on the Pixel Stand. I have no idea why. I think it might have to do with overheating? I've been meaning to wipe it and start fresh but that's a royal pain in the butt so I haven't done it yet.

I've been mostly satisfied with mine. I feel that it's not quite as nice an improvement as when I went with my first Google branded device, the Pixel 1 (I came from the LG G3), but my wife and I have been lucky with rarely any issue.

I really happy with Google Pixel 6 Pro. I couldn't write anything negative about it. The Android 13 update fixed all the bugs I knew about.

A13 fixed everything, and it's just ultra smooth and fluid and animations are the smoothest thing ever, camera is actually better than S22U software is top notch, pleasure to use, no jittery lags like those Samsung overheating phones, AI and voice typing is just generations ahead, finger print senser could be better that's all

Do you like random bugs and mobile connection issues along with horrible battery life on stock? Then the Pixel 6 Pro is for you! I used to Love the Pixel Series after the Nexus Series and this one combined with the Tensor chip has gotten Google into a weird area plus with them restricting API and permissions. They advertise open source but the bootloader and Radio are closed source. Developing has been rough with every iteration of Android and now they have actual fuses for the bootloader. What ever happened to I get what I pay for? Not a pixel 7. I've been an Android supporter and Superuser since the dawn of the LG Ally. It's really all about what you need a phone for, The Camera for the Pixel Series are phenomenal but the should never have been released with Kernel and Radio bugs from Day 1.

For my usage, I sold my 6 Pro because of bugs, carrier connection issues, Tensor chip support, etc.

Garbage phone if you actually need to make a phone call. Rest of it is pretty good.

Been very satisfied with mine. Have not really had any of the issues some others have encountered.

Just spend some time perusing the P6 pro section to see if this is the phone for you. If you're not into rooting, there are better alternatives.

If I were you, I probably would wait for the Pixel 7.
This phone is too hot comparing to the Pixel 3 while doing same operations

I love this phone and would 100% get it again. Battery life has been amazing. Buttery smooth animations (iOS has nothing on this). Making calls and receptions have been no better or worse than other phones Ive owned. No bugs or glitches for me. Fingerprint scanner has improved since A13. Maybe I got lucky?

I think every phone after Android 12 does that. P6 Pro, Mi Mix 2 and 1+9 Pro all reboot when I'm sleeping on A12/13.
To answer the thread question:
After having multiple phones from the 888 generation I've settled for the P6 Pro.
- Smoothest ui
- Less is more in terms of os (better than any aosp rom on other phones and their stock roms)
- Best camera for what I do (I do miss manual mode from 1+ and Sony but oh well)
- Longest battery life
- Gaming is on par if you use a cooler but Genshin/Tower of Fantasy will demolish this phone after like 20-30min

It hasn't been bad enough to make me want to get rid of it but the battery life is decidedly average and i have never had a phone get so hot so often.

Yeah its fine phone, does the job, I`m always changing phones trying to find the the phone I can use for long term, and I actually have brand new 6 pro replacement from Google coming today, since my boot-looped and hard brick, I have decided I will just sell the 6 pro replacement, and move to the Sony Xperia 1 IV, I did use Xperia 1 IV global version for few days and loved it, the US version is supposed to be released next week, I was able to find FocusCamera.com to have few in stock already, and willing to sell them before the release date, but the Xepria 1 IV is not cheap compared to the 6 pro, but the Sony has the old android features, like microsd, flat screen, led notification, headphone jack, dedicated camera button, side mounted fingerprint reader in the power button, 120hz screen and with 4k resolution. So if the Xperia 1 IV wasn`t available I would be sticking with the 6 Pro, one thing always drove me nuts is the power button is above the volume buttons, prefer the button below the volume keys, but I have no other issues with the 6 pro.

For what it's worth, my Pixel 6 Pro has never rebooted on its own at any time of the day or night, and I'm pretty sure my wife's Pixel 6 Pro hasn't, either. We've had ours since late last October. I'm rooted, she's not.
She probably would've mentioned it to me, since she mentions any problem she does ever have every few months, which is usually solved by rebooting. I think she (and maybe my brother too) is finally used to just trying to reboot manually when they do have any weird quirk before they ask me about it.
It's funny since she's the one who introduced me to the I.T. Crowd. I digress.

How long is your battery lasting ?

Personally, very satisfied.

It's the okayest phone I've ever owned. I won't recommend it to anyone though. It's the first phone over ever owned (and I've owned Androids since 2.3, and even Windows Mobile before that) that didn't impress me in some way. Camera seems only ok for me, and lacking certain features. Camera app is harder for me to figure out than others too. They finally fixed one of the most glaring issues in not having the option for Tap Tap to trigger the flashlight (how did they even miss they in the first place). Also it's somewhat buggy, using picture-in-picture causes me problems, especially in Google Maps (you'd think that Google Maps would work fine on a Google made Android phone, but apparently not).

Question Anyone upgrade from 8T, is it worth it?

I made the jump from the 8T to the 11 and I like it (mostly). The phone is super-fast and the software is pretty darn good. I'm starting to get antsy for some custom ROM's though (eg: paranoid android, pixel extended, etc).
The only thing I didn't really like (at the beginning) was the waterfall display on the edges. I don't really notice it any more but (personally) I prefer flat displays.

Good deal. I just feel like 8T is still plenty fast until they discontinue the update support here in a year or so. How's the camera on 11?

1. This is not OxygenOS. I wouldn't say it's complete crap but it's leaves a lot to be desired.
2. Battery life is poor.
3. Camera is barely any better than for my even older than yours OnePlus.
4. Yeah, it's fast, too bad it's overheating even when using light apps like Google Maps.
I've no idea what to upgrade to but I'm not a fan of OnePlus 11 by a long shot. I've heard some Lenovo/Motorola and Asus phones feature a ROM which is close to stock Android.
Oh, and the Pixel 7 Pro is certainly an option as well, though stock Google Android is missing a ton of features from OxygenOS, even simple ones such as double tap to wake (it can be single tapped to wake but that leads to an extreme number of unnecessary wake up's).

That worse sw quality + unreliable USB-C connecter made me looking for other devices.
After watching some reviews I got an incorrect impression that the OS/SW is better on OnePlus11...
But it's not...
- constantly fighting with android auto, when you connect the phone to your car, usually 1st attempt works, 2nd and any following doesn't and you need to do some dance like usb debug enable/disable or reboot to make it working...
- now with latest update, it has broken pressed state so most of apps don't have it visible
- whole UI is weirdly bloated, I prefer more dense content, I was already using the custom DPI value to override it, now the number must be even higher, but this value doesn't survive reboot... what a pain, if I have to reboot every other day...
- Notifications UX is somehow weird comparing to pixel 7 with A13, I have hard time to just dismiss it by swiping it out, very annoying.
- I don't like much the oneplus photos app, so I just disable it to get rid of it. What a surprise to see that the camera app has the oneplus photos app hardwired, so it it doesn't open any photos app, so I had to reenable it back again just to be able to see a history of photos directly from camera app...

Thanks, guys. My wife has a pixel 7 (non-pro) and I don't like it at all lol I hear youtubers raging about xiaomi and other Chinese phones (hell, OP is one also), but I'm on the fence on those due to security and update support.
Is Samsung any better than when it had that weird UI back in the day?

I must be one of the lucky ones because I haven't had any issues with the USB charger, battery life (I can get almost 2 full days if I really stretch it out), Android Auto, the notifications or the photo app. I agree that it's not the Oxygen OS we've grown accustomed to but it's not the worst thing in the world (in my opinion).
But to each his own. Everyone has to make their own decision on what they can live with and what they can't.
I'd love to have a Pixel for the streamlined OS but the charging speed to stupid slow compared to the OnePlus 11 (hell, even the OnePlus 8t is way faster at charging). The camera on the OnePlus 11 is (for me) fine for the daily quick photo but I have a Canon DSLR that I use if I really want a good photo.
RussianBear, my suggestion is the try the OnePlus 11. If you like it, great. If not, send it back.

I just can't seem to justify paying full retail for this thing. It'd have to be that much better than 8T for me to drop near 1k (looking for max specs) on a new phone. Their 100 day gimmick is cool, tho lol

I have 10-9hrs average screen on time while traveling.
Nothing overheats while having gps navigation active during my trips.
SOT are great, especially when I switched from OP7Pro.

I enjoy using my OnePlus 11, it's my first day to day device back with Android since I left behind the 6T and went to the iPhone lol The camera has improved to the point where it can be in the conversation with the Pixel and Galaxy phones, OxygenOS isn't as clunky as I thought it would be, and 80W charging is amazing.

I jumped from 6T to 8T

Camera is snappier, fast charging, more battery, faster device.

I moved from OP8T to OP11, and the first big thing is the vastly superior battery life of the 11.
Wiht my OP8T I had grown used to the idea that i would need to take a powerbank with me if i was going to be out all day, and that it would need to be left on charge overnight to ensure it was full in the morning - before going out for day , my new OP11 - at the moment easily lasts all day - and no longer needs an overnight charge
So OP11 has
better battery life
much nicer screen
its faster/ more responsive
havent had enough time to use the camera yet - but first impressions are its an improvement over the 8T

I have the 11 and 8T and much prefer my 8T. I'm actually actively trying to sell my 11. I probably would have a different opinion if OnePlus didn't take away a person's rights to fix their phones themselves with MSM, but that's mostly an Oppo issue. I tinker with my 8T because I know if I botch something, MSM will save my ass.

Then you can wait a bit for a lower price and I think the 100 day offer ended on April 30th. I've upgraded from both OP6 and 9 and I think it was worth it. Some people have hardware issues as it happens with any brand, while some just need a factory reset to straight up things. Everything is running perfectly here. Everything launches faster, haven't had heat issues, not even with Maps and the five year updates gives the thing longevity. Battery life is also lasting much more than OP9 despite using OOS. The only thing I wish is to once more have tools like MSM publicly available and of course, custom development which might come one day.
