Good evening, my pixel 6 USB preferences is missing from the status bar and also for some reason it will not keep the roaming network I pick and chooses to act like automatic.
I need it to stay on a specific network so u don't get roaming charges internationally, but when I click on the roaming network I want, it goes to the next one. I have automatically connect to network off. Anyone offer any help please?
Thank you in advance
Try a network reset if you haven't.
Clear system cache.
I will try that thank you, and about the USB preferences missing, anyway to add them to status bar?

Don't know. Check Developer options.
This seems to be a common complaint... you may need to work around it.

Yeah, couldn't find the option in developmer options not sure why the removed such a very useful feature
Can you fix the title to make more contextual sense for anyone browsing?
We don't want to read "Help please", it'd be better for everyone to read "[Help] USB Status Notification Missing" or whatever would better describe your issue.
I hate to say it, but the only thing I can think of to try is a factory reset. But I don't know if it'll help. The USB settings in Developer Options is present for me.
In the developer option I have a "Default USB configuration" toggle which then brings up a sub menu for the various options (File Transfer, USB Tethering, MIDI, PTP and No data transfer". Is this what you meant, or were you looking for an option to switch on a quick tile in the main notification drop down? If the latter, I don't think that exists in Android 12.

Would it be possible to develop a cab file that would allow you to automatically update the Diamond's weather each time it was connected to a PC? This would be really useful...
AFAIK it's already enabled by default under weather settings page
"Automatically update weather info"
I have the same problem. It updates automatically, but only when it is selected, not when it synchronises.
Very frustrating, cos every time I scroll to the weather app, it freezes for up to 30s whilst it updates. It also adds cost, since it updates over the phone comms if it's not connected.
Could definitely use a tweak here - if only I could find how to do that....

Yeah this is true but I have deselected this because of network charges. I just would like it to recognise the fact that it is docked and have the facitily to "update weather when connected". This would be real useful..

Did you ever figure out how to do this? I don't have an internet plan and don't want to be charged. I sync my phone everynight to my pc so this would defintely be better for me as well.
I agree, a tweak that automatically updates the weather tab ONLY when connected through active sync would be great. This means you have regular updates but no extra charges.
Does this require some advanced scripts or something similar?
Guys,
I have had no feedback yet on this one. And I have no idea as to how it could be done. But the guys out there do I am sure. It would be so useful to have the weather sync over an active sync to PC connection; that way the weather would always be up to date without incurring any GPRS charges (for those of us who do not have 3G data plans!!)
This is sad, I am just writing so that the post will be on the front page. and maybe someone with the required skills will read it and help us out.
Another thing that could be updated when connected via Active Sync ist QuickGPS.
Maybe we should post this in the mortscript thread?
To be honest I don't know what I am talking about.
But I think a lot of people would find a tweak like this quite handy!
"download weather data when connected to a pc
Yes, I agree. Already on the HTC we have the ability to auto download QuickGPS data when connwcted to the PC. If we can do this then surely we should be able to "DOWNLOAD WEATHER DATA WHEN CONNECTED TO A PC". So, i think this could be a very useful add on for our phones...please
I can remember a discussion about this topic. Someone already managed to find the database entries responsible for the weather, but there was no success changing them.
I would also like to see some success, but I think this requires some advanced techniques.
Regards,
Zuzler
Don't know if anyone else has noticed this but it's possible to get to 4G settings as well as "Device Administrator Settings".
If you install Choice Dialer+ and say "help" on launch it provides a long list of everything on the phone that can be run through voice commands.
4G settings and Admin settings are on that list so if you say "4G settings" it'll load a menu I've never seen before which allows you to turn 4G on.
Well, actually it doesn't, I suppose because it can't, but hey.
Thought someone might be interested

as the desire dosent have 4g its like having the xbox dashboard on a ps3 ...... kinda pointless lol
hi all, i have had a look through the forum but dont seem to be able to find anything. for some reason when i reboot my phone it comes back on then my mobile data will start up if i turn the mobile data off it will start an hour or so later have turned off as many of the auto updates that i can find. any sugestions or help would be much appreciated as its starting to bug me now. thank you
Auto updates shouldn't turn on mobile data, perhaps it's some kind of bad app/process/service that is starting it.
Try installing a firewall or a data monitor app in order to see which process demands data connection.
If this doesn't help a hard reset probably will.
If it happens that you never use mobile data (I don't) you can just erase your APN settings.
thanks for the reply whats a good data monitor app any suggestions ?
Try TrafficInfo
nice one will get this installed then see who is the culprit lol
hi ya 3722 i have traffic info installed and from what its saying its the dialer thats starting up my data conection this cant be right can it ? nothing comes up under user just a few things in system and the dialer is always at the top
Hm..
Go to settings>>wireless and networks>> scroll down and see if there is a tick on "mobile network", then tap on "mobile networks" at the bottom you'll see "enable always-on mobile data" turn it off if it isn't already.
As for the Dialer demanding connection, I don't know if TrafficInfo is showing it wrong or if it's really the case, anyway you can try clearing the dialer's data and cache.
lol its still the same m8, dont worry about it i'll put up with it untill i flash RCMixHD, thanks for your help its a strange one its baffled me
Yeah sorry for not being very helpful but I am running out of ideas, and yes flashing a new rom should fix this annoyance.
running out of ideas you and me both lol, ah well time to go flash again. thanks again m8.
I swear I am not an idiot (most of the time). My Tab 3 8.0 is rooted (yay!) and I'm looking for the Developer's section in Settings to turn on USB Debug mode - but I can't find this. According to Samsung, I should have Developers listed on the left side with the rest of my options, but I don't see this. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/faq/FAQ00055286/66880 I believe I've gone into all of the options to see if it was hidden, etc., but I can't seem to find this. (Maybe I just need my morning caffeine.)
Ah, yep found how to add the Developer Options.
Go to Settings > About device.
Tap Build number seveen times.
Now I can mark USB debugging and continue on with Titanium Backup Pro.
I seriously did Google this before asking my question... then I reworded my question and found how to add the Developer Options. Regardless, I figured someone else might want to know the answer.
So I just got the S20 Plus and am loving it for the most part but there's one (admittedly niche) issue I'm having with it: it is obnoxious to just turn on USB tethering, which is something I have to do quite often so it's kind of a big deal for me. Like I'm not sure if it's always been the case with Samsung phones (I just switched over from a Pixel 2 that I used for 3 years, it had this option for as long as I can remember) but you could either go through Dev Options to change Default USB behavior to USB tether or simply click on the drop down notification that pops up whenever you plug in the USB cable and select tethering from there. On this phone, in both of those instances the option's just not there; they show pretty much every other possible function for a USB connection aside from the one that I actually need.
Basically, I just want to know if there's some shortcut/workaround or preferably a widget that I can use to just hit the USB tether toggle instead of what I have to do now which is Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering > USB tethering. There's obviously the Mobile Hotspot button in the quick menu but pressing/long pressing that button both result in exclusively WiFi-related tethering but obviously that's not quite what I'm looking for here

Thanks for the quick reply and recommendation; this is pretty much what I was looking for, or I guess the closest I'm gonna be able to get to it (made a shortcut to the TetherSettings menu). Still find it odd that there isn't an option for it in either of the previously mentioned places but oh well, everything else has been great so far so I guess that's a fair tradeoff

Yea next best option, maybe suggest to Samsung using the Samsung Members app to add it in Dev options USB modes
