Hello I'm new to android. This is my first smartphone.
I had an ipod touch before , but that wasn't as confusing and complex as android is to jailbrake or install themes. Android overall is a very confusing system. It was very easy to theme and jailbrake my ipod touch.
I have been googling this question for some time and im still confused
My questions are:
How do install android theme?
Do all themes work for all phones?
Do you need a program to install themes (go launcher ex? what is that?)
And lastly are themes made for specific roms/phones.
Thanks.

Themes will be in a cwm flashable zip that you put on your sdcarx and flash in recovery.
Themes are very specific to the phone and rom that you are using. Sometimes I theme designed for one rom can work on another rom but that's certainly not guaranteed. Themes from a different phone will never work.
As I mentioned above, you don't need a specific program to install themes you just need to be rooted, which will install cwm on your phone.
You can find themes in the themes and apps section of this forum.

I just installed this amazing and fast rom :cm7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569895
And installed the Mate theme for ADW, so your saying that i don't need any launcher like ADWlauncher to install a theme? What the difference?
By the way the themes that come in .zip are complete?
Okay there's themes for the whole rom and themes for just the launcher. Themes for the launcher are found in the market and are only compatible with that launcher. Those will only affect your icons and app drawer. Themes for the rom affect your menus, status bar, etc. Now cm7 handles themes a bit differently. Cm7 themes are also found in the market (search for cyanogenmod themes). Once you download and install a theme you want, go to your app drawer and open theme chooser then pick the theme you downloaded and then reboot. No need to use recovery for cm7 themes.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense now
1 more question:
Do the zip themes that you need to flash in recovery don't use extra ram?
Example go launcher or adw launcher run on top of the system, while zip themes patch the system files so there is no extra service running. Is this true?

That is correct. All they do is replace the images with new themed images. No extra services running.
Guys how to change the system font color on GB ? Its white you know..
I
Before you ask a question like this search around on XDA...
-You will need a rooted phone (to access all admin restrictions)
an then edit something, you might aswell install a custom theme using ADW launcher.
have a rooted G3 running the latest cloudy rom.
how do i add custom fonts to settings>display>fonts without using LG smartworld or iFont or similar apps......?
i want to be able to add to the font list already on the phone (like on HTC, Samsung etc)...
can only find solutions to change the default system font using iFont/HiFont/Font Installer etc....
must be some way? can't find anything about this anywhere....
TIA
Hi friends
are you bored of your Stock rom UI ..?
So here's a new themes and mods where you can easily customize your Stock rom with some nice xposed modules
I Know its not new i mean its already there but i just want to make you feel good in using it for who doesnt have a idea about this
Lets start
Before installing it make sure to backup your current data and everything with a recovery. It is recommended because some modules gonna overrides system defaults so incase if you want to revert back to stock experiance for that u must backup your rom/ if not also not a problem u can flash stock firmware and can get back your stock experiance
1. Download and install xposed installer
here is the video how to install it
2. Now its time for to download modules , open xposed installer there u will see a list of profiles containing framework, modules, download, settings etc.. you just need to hit download and search for modules there
3. Some of the recommended modules for customization
--->Android theme engine (to theme your status and navigation bars icons, colors etc..,)
--->AppOpsXposed (to manage permissions for apps installed in your phone like restricting apps to use your contacts, location,sd card access etc...,)
--->Gem Xperia Xposed (to theme your xperia launcher, system ui )
---> Gravity box
--->Serajir Xperia Xposed
--->Xblast tools
--->Xstana (to change your status and navigation bar icons)
--->Youtube Adway (to block ads in youtube while streaming)
and to theme your launcher follow this guide
Sorry for not detailing about how to use mods but not a problem u can find easily videos on youtube
and its just a little brain work if you know how to use one mod and you can easily know how to use the other mods
IF you have any doubts pls feel free to post you comments
I'd like to use stock icons on G3 if that is possible.
No root, no custom rom, no custom recovery.
Is there any icon pack/theme I'm unable to find or there is none?
EDIT:
I'm on 6.0 MM

If I remember correctly a number of icon packs from the Play Store would show up as themes from within the ROM. It's been a really long time since I've run a straight stock ROM so maybe my recollection is off.
I'm currently on a debloated stock ROM where icon packs don't work (so using Unicon via Xposed for icons). When I was on Nimax Marshmallow icon packs worked via the ROM's theme settings.
If you have the LG Smart World(?) app I believe it may have some icons packs. By the way, you don't say what Android version you're on. KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow?
LG G3 D851, Clean ROM v3.2, NanoDroid (microG), MultiROM, XDA Legacy
