Any plans for making a custom ROM with OOS11 Being based on Android 12? OOS12 is color os and I'm not a fan.
I think everyone needs to wait and see what the final A12 build turns out to look like for Oneplus devices. It could look different than even the open beta we're seeing now. Oneplus' CEO: "Lau confirmed that the 2022 flagship — theoretically called the OnePlus 10 — would be the first phone with the new unified operating system. After this launch, we would see the unified OS on both new Oppo and OnePlus phones going forward."

I was about to get Mi A1 when I found out about Honor 7X... I always wanted a budget device with Project Treble and was really disappointed to find Mi A1 (which was My only hope in 2017) doesn't have Treble support even after Oreo update... I read that with Oreo, Honor 7X will have Project Treble support and Im super Excited about it... I have a few doubts... Even though it has been answer, I just want to be sure...
1. Will there be Treble for sure in Oreo (since its a Budget Phone and not a flagship like Mate 9 or 8 Pro)???
2. Is it for sure that it has a separate Vendor Partition which is necessary for Project Treble (There are methods to verify it and has anyone done verification)???
3. Will there be Good Development here as I Love trying something new and flashing new ROMs all the time (Im using Redmi 3S and it has Wonderful Custom ROM development with very active Developers and Im concerned I read complaints that Honor 6X had very less development)???
4. With Project Treble out, will ROMs created for Snapdragon devices with Treble work fine with Kirin powered Honor 7X (Since I have read only about ROMs developed for Kirin devices only working in Treble enabled Honor Devices, sorry if Im wrong as I didn't do intensive research)???

1. Yes there will be project treble when oreo is out
2. Yes one of the reason for treble to work is to have the seperate partition and it does thats the reason treble will work
3. No one can tell u this yet, but since Huawei is spreading its honor 7x all around the world more and team openkirin has the device so theres a better chance to have good development soon..
4. Why would there be a mix and match of roms? There are roms already available for our device but we are still skeptical if they would work so we havent tried them yet since it depends on the kirin processor number which matches with almost all the other devices having good development.. So they should work on 7x as well but again, we are not sure so nobody has tried it yet..
Good luck for you to chose your phone!
Treble should come (95% it will), because all Honor devices that got updated to Oreo (Beta or official) have Treble support
Since Huawei makes their own SoCs, porting Treble should be fairly easy. That, combined with the fact that they have ported Treble to even older phones (like the Mate 9), makes me fairly certain that yes, they WILL be porting Treble, and I would be genuinely surprised if they did not. Also, the fact that Treble separates the "low level" code, it shouldn't matter too much whether or not there are not many developers for this specific phone, as a OS developer (Like Lineage OS, Paranoid Android, and the like), can make a single flashable system.img for any Treble device! Thus, if somebody makes a ROM for the Pixel 2, it can run on any other Treble device, and this has even been proven with the Mate 9, running a clean generic AOSP ROM. Personally, I think it would be interesting to see Android GO ported to these midrange devices to see how fast they can be (and running, potentially, other non Android operating systems like Ubuntu, Sailfish OS, and others).
Recently when OnePlus team released some news about upcoming Pie upgrade on their forums, i wonder if Google had made Treble mandatory on devices that upgrade to Pie now?
AFAIK when they upgrade to oreo last year, they never enable Treble on OP3 as Google didn't made it mandatory...
Thanks!
Noo. It was mandatory for phones which came with oreo out of the box and pie out of the box. Op3 came with marshmallow out of the box
For newer phones launching with Oreo (or any later versions), Treble support is necessary to pass VTS (therefore get the checks needed for the phone to use Gapps).
However, this was (and is) never the case for upgrades. There is also no change in this rule, and I imagine OnePlus wouldn't bother with it.
IIRC the official update should've launched around november-december
Its february, what happened? did xiaomi drop the RN5pro from the list?

LOL! Where did you get information RN5 will get Android 10? RN5 Pro got 2 major Android updates 8.1 and 9. Be happy they even continue MIUI. Last MIUI update was in November and after that still nothing. This is not a flagship phone. If you want Android 10 go with custom ROMs.

They were launched with Nougat
Dude has right. There were serious rumors that we would get android 10.
What is the point of android 10 if it is still covered by MIUI skin? I hardly can point out any additional feature provided by android 10. There are several nice to have features, but it also brings along several critical limitation.
I flashed Havoc 3.0 android 10 early January this year, just for the sake of update, after one week immediately regret it. I am back to AEX 6.7 Pie 9.0 since then. The clipboard limitation severely damage several of my daily flows in Automagic. Any wifi/bluetooth related action now require high accuracy location feature to be on all the time. While at pie 9.0, battery saver mode is enough. There is pratically no significant new useful features I can find.
At that time most android 10 cusrom still haven't stable yet nor implementing their features into the ROM. Example, I can't yet find Smartbar DUI in AEX 7.0 Android 10, but it is there in AEX 6.7 Pie 9.0 (that's why I stay on Pie). Rather than having new version but with missing features, I better stay on old version but with full features.
Maybe battery backup is better on Q?

Also, some come with MIUI 9 and others with MIUI 10. You received an updated batch.
If you search "Redmi Note 5 Nougat" you will see that this device was launched with Nougat.

Installing that Nougat on my whyred is going to break my camera, which means that 7.1 wasn"t meant for my device. Indian whyred was launched with 7.1 . Not global one

That's true, I agree
But I still think xiaomi won't update it to Android 10
Dear Mi 10T lite community,
I am new to Xiaomi, originally coming from a OnePlus phone.
This is a Mi 10T lite phone bought in Germany from a German carrier.
Even before installing my personal data and apps, I had updated to the latest global version 12.0.8.0 of the Xiaomi stock ROM.
Today I get the notification, that the second (first after real install) update is available and my phone wants up UPDATE from 12.0.8 to 12.0.1 !?!?
What kind of update is this. The version number is being reduced?
The patch level is said to increase from January 2021 to February 2021, which sounds okay.
The current ROM (12.0.8) is Android 10 based. The new ROM (12.0.1) claims to be "Stable MIUI based on Android 11". Is this the upgrade to Android 11? I thought the Update to Android 11 will be with MIUI 12.5 in summer!?
Would you advise to upgrade this stock ROM? -- For me this sounds strange. On OnePlus I have always relied on the ROM upgrades. What about this?
Thank you for any advise in advance!
Best regards
Ethan

If you notice that the update ROM has R instead of Q in the string *JSEUXM that denotes next update - R follows Q. The numbering is for Miui version 12 and the iteration .0.1 means it's the first one in this R cycle.
And it is android 11. Going to install it myself - if it's now out of beta and ota'ing

Hello Gazblade,
thank you very much. This is quite interesting. I had only looked at the "human readable" part of the version number, not at the "machine readable" part.
You are right. This is an update from QJSEUXM to RJSEUXM and thus it should be a new version. It is good to learn the "Xiaomi-style".
Nevertheless it should NOT mean, that their GUI, MIUI is downgraded to an earlier version from 12.0.8 to 12.0.1. This is intriguing.
Obviously the third digit of the MIUI version number has nothing to do with respect to the currentness of Xiaomi's GUI software. Right?
Also the text "based on Android 11" is at least misleading.
Nevertheless, based on your feedback, I will try the update later.
Have a great day!
Best regards
Ethan
Just a note for "Based on Android 11" - it is important because you can have MIUI 12 based on Android 9 or Android 10 or Android 11. Most of the features will be shared among different Android versions, with some exceptions (or freshly introduced underlaying Android bugs/design changes).

I am not sure whether I got the point. Xiaomi had offered "MIUI 12.0 based on Android 11" for my Android 10 phone and this upgrade MIUI 12.0 is still using (or based on) Android 10.
Android 11 will come with MIUI 12.5 Right?
Thus does this "based on" read "has been compiled with Android 11"? Or "Is running on Android 11 and older"?
I had planned to install the update tonight, but in the meantime the OTA update disappeared again and is no longer found by the Xiaomi updater! What a strange policy.
Has the "R" version been withdrawn and is back to beta status?
With my old OnePlus updates were pretty straight-forward. I do not understand the Xiaomi update policy until now...

MIUI is only skin (albeit quite heavy) on the top of Android. Xiaomi decided to offer the same MIUI version on top of more than one Android version. So our phone came with MIUI 12 + Android 10 and now it's being upgraded to MIUI 12 + Android 11. Next major upgrade will be MIUI 12.5 + Android 11. But it's possible that Xiaomi will offer also MIUI 12.5 + Android 10 for other (older) phone models..
It can be a bit confusing, but you don't need to stress too much about it.
The Update to 12.0.1.0 RJSEUXM is back and I have downloaded the OTA update already. Currently I am charging my phone before applying the update. -- Be safe. At least on the battery.
Did anybody already apply this update to Android 11?
There are so many rumors about problems with this update, but there are not many clear facts.
Would you recommend adopting to Android 11 already now or wait for MIUI 12.5?

I will put it this way. For every bigger Android update there are a bunch of people who hate it and they will make a lot of noise on forums. They don't like some design changes or cosmetic bugs. Most people are not bothered by them or they barely notice them. Of course that there is always a chance of serious bugs, but problematic updates are usually pulled down quickly and the information is often covered in articles (on XDA or similar pages). There is no known serious bug in this update and it's considered as a safe update. I am very sure that MIUI 12.5 update will be "the worst update in the history of all updates" for some people (like it was with MIUI 12 or MIUI 11; or Android 11 or Android 10 etc.)..
I updated one or two weeks ago and except already mentioned misaligned (but still functional) text in notifications I haven't noticed anything worth mentioning. I personally recommend the update, but as always, YMMV..

I have just updated to 12.0.1.0.RJSEUXM. My Mi 10T lite is now running Android 11 absolutely flawlessly. Good recommendation! And probably a very correct explanation in your message above.
Could someone upload and share the MiQT Lite XQCN file (EEA or Global)? I need this file to test some things on my 9 Pro 5G.
