Is there any way to hide the status bar icons? Specially the clock and battery indicator so we can avoid burn ins? Had burn-in issue on my mi 9t pro so Im not gonna take any chances...
I was easily able to hide the icons on my rog phone 2 but it seems that miui is blocking that method(having all these features, it's such a shame it still doesnt have the ability to hide status bar icons!)
Does anyone have any other way to do this?

The clock, yes I think so. But I don't know about Battery, I'm not able to check it right now
Maybe not the answer you want to hear
I use HavocOS - there you can hide all status bar icons. I do it so, but only because I don't want to disturb my home screen with these icons
For the battery status I use a thin line on the top of the screen (it's a feature of Havoc), which changes the length and the color depending on the battery level... you can choose color #1 (fully charged) and color #2 (empty). I picked 2 colors (black for #1 and gray for #2), so that this line only appears when the battery is at about 30 %. Really nice

I gave it a try it's able to remove left hand stuff and some of right hand stuff.
Still I'd like to have something that whould hide my status bar and show it on slide like it used to be in older phones.
Anyways still better then nothing.

MIUI doesn't support Fullscreen Gestures on any Third-Party Launchers.
Don't bother, you re gonna swith to another phone anyway before it gets burn in. Or you can always replace the screen under warranty since burn in is coverer by xiaomi.

I'm interested in this too. Hopefully there is a way. Waists too much screen space
My suggestion is to just root the phone and install GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys... I did that today, and it's amazing being able to use the full 5" screen for all my apps. Navigation buttons are just a touch/swipe away too.

I tried about GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys, but I don't like having to swipe up to show the keys. I wouldn't mind making them just a little bit shorter.
However, if that isn't possible, I wouldn't mind GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys if I could use the stock HTC Sense 6 system icons for the navigation bar when using GMD auto hide. Is there a way to extract them and do this?

anyone try gravitybox? that works great. change size and colors

If you have see no sense in the overload of Gravity Box features and just want to set height of the Notification bar, I would recommend "Dimensions Editor" for Xposed Framework. You can even change the position of Toasts with it (also the Height of Notification Bar).
Trying still now.

I just flashed navbar2.zip on my M8 with ARHD 5.0 without issues. Thanks!
Hello, don't know if it's a new feature from the recent update or not, however I never noticed that before.
HTC Browser after a while hides the navbar.
That would be great, but it's useless for me since the page is not resized, i attached two pictures to let you see that.
Is that normal? I'm using InsertCoin ROM with ART and it may be a ROM issue, but I don't know.

Maybe worth using GMD hide softkeys from the market place. I use it and its brilliant!
This doesn't solve the issue, I'd prefer keeping the navbar than hiding it if the extra space is white.
No it hides the navbar and gives you the extra screen space. Very awesome app. I used it on my previous phones.

I just tried the free one and it gives you an alternative bar with different icons. It doesn't hide the stock one (i can do that from build.prop file, but since the only issue is with the browser I don't want to use another whole bar)

Can I ask which Rom do you use? And do you use art?
Immersive Mode (99cents on Google Play) hides nav bar without needing root.
Same issue here, I'm using Renovate 4.4.3 on ART as well! I'm using chrome beta now, it just keeps the navbar without going immersive.

Hi. I'm using "gestures" control instead of navigation bar and I really like it. But default launcher is not ready to work without navbar and it leaves blank space under bottom icon row.
Is there any way to put this icon row lower and closer to the screen edge? Because currently it just looks wrong.

It supposed to hide nav bar. Which is not needed in my case.
This is just a launcher issue - it leaves the gap for nav bar even though nav bar is disabled and I use gesture control. I think it's a bit outdated and not ready for Android P and its features.

I use this when Nova Launcher got the same issue like yours.
and work perfectly. (I've created toggle via Tasker by the way)

another thing is, did you try to force close OP launcher or reboot to see if it resolve?

Does anyone know how to hide the Status bar and display everything under the camera hole like this.
As on S8/S9, Note8/Note9 just needs to use the command: settings put global policy_control immersive.status=* is done
But for models with this android camera hole when using the above command, the screen containing the hole camera will be a black strip.

You can use System UI Tuner on the play store to get rid of the status and navigation bars on whichever apps you want. Just need to do a couple of adb commands to make it work.

Guess I never noticed it as I use dark mode and a black wall paper.
Enabling full screen app support for the particular app in settings>display has gotten rid of the black bars for me
You can use Nova Launcher to hide Statusbar.
Use Fine lock, Install Quick star module
in quick star model is no choice to hide statusbar
Do you know the Nova Launcher? Search in Google Playstore. With Nova Launcher you can also hide Statusbar via Gesture.
Good Lock. QUICKSTAR still works.
Hide clock first then turn off every icon like wifi and data.
Samsung's GoodLock NavStar module will show/hide the status bar.
This is what I did and it works.
1. System tuner ui to hide status bar.
2. Enable full screen app support in settings>display
3. I want to give credit to whoever figured this out, but don't remember. Get goodlock and install multi-star. Scroll all the way to the bottom of multi-star and select (the app size stretch to camera hole). Set the app to overlap the camera area.
That's it. No more status bar and it will look like the target picture. All apps.

Interesting, I never noticed. But jea, this also happens when I swipe down slowly from the top.
Why I never noticed?
I never swipe down from the top.
Pixel Launcher gives you the ability to pull down the notification shade instandly by just swiping down with your finger anywhere on the home screen to bring down notifications.
For reference:
I'm not getting transparent notification pulldown no matter how I pull down at the moment. I haven't noticed in particular whether I had a transparent notification shade some other time. I'll try to pay attention.

Same it doesn't matter how I pull it down. It just end up transparent sometimes. I am trying to see if it's a certain notification that causes it but nothing yet.
I can swipe down from the screen or the top still does the same thing.
Okay now it's really messed up.. check this out. I didn't change anything and it's showing all white. Sometimes it's dark and sometimes it's transparent.

This is interesting, mine is always transparent, maybe a google backup issue from restoring? I am not sure I have always had transparent on this device with a blur effect
I didnt restore anything and have had it transparent only once. So maybe there is something to that. I'm trying to locate the background to remove it as I prefere the transparent/blurred out look.
Yeah same here, wish it would stay blurry rather than solid white or dark
Also, prefer the transparent/blurred views available full time....
I recreated the issue! To make the background transparent just pull the notification pulldown down when while you have a new notification and change the brightness then swipe up back to the notification and it will be transparent. I have test it about 10 times and it does it every time.
I swear my pulldown changes everyday haha. Now I have 4 toggles at the top and I have no clue how. Not complaining tho I think it should be like this!
