Hey all!
I bought the s pen pro for my fold 3. As a pasive pen it works, but i cannot get it to pair for smart bluetooth capabilities even if i press and hold the pairing button. Has someone experienced this? Is there any fix?
had the same issues. had to go into phone settings and type in S Pen... and play around in air action settings.
Thanks...got it. Completwly different to what youtube videos show.
Small tip when messing in s pen settings in air actions you can unpair if the pen is acting up

yea it definitely didnt work straight out the box like the earbuds do
I got lucky and mine paired immediately. Even told me how much battery life it had right out of the box which was 10%.
As soon as I turned mine on, I got a pop-up on my ZF3 to pair it. Then when I switched to SPen mode from Fold mode, I got the same pop-up on my Note 20 Ultra
My s pen pro will not connect to fold 3. It does great with tab s7. I am switching to z fold mode and nothing. My fold does not have any settings for pen or air settings anywhere. Any suggestions? Return pen as defective or is it the crappy Samsung software again? Tried the turn on and Off. It flashes blue. NOTHING. Blue tooth does not see it.
There are instructions that come with the pen, and it was ridiculously easy to pair. However, I'm at a loss finding any use for it, so haven't used it since the day it came (it was free with the Samsung credit). What does everyone use it for? (Gestures are useless to me as I won't remember them.)
You seriously can't remember for gestures that are the exact same in each Direction the only probably used to ever you can't be that brainless not trying to be rude come on the only problem I have is whenever I pulled the pin out I have to reconnect it every time for gestures to work and it's not like I can return the item

How is that not trying to be rude? Yes, I would not be able to remember what the gestures are or are for. Not that my medical records are any of your business, but I have a diagnosed memory disability since my teen years (got accommodations for it in high school). Not everyone has the same abilities you do in life.

Actually I think it is. Otherwise it be easy to commit the difference of d or b to memory for example. What you described is a classic symptom of dyslexia.

It isn't about forgetting what they look like, but the way the brain sees the letters/words differently from normal brains. It is a neurological problem.
My problem is a memory-based learning disability, as is was diagnosed after testing.

How well-calibrated are the accelerometers in your GNs? Mine seems to be slightly off. Laying the phone down on a level surface, this is the reading I get from GPS Status (which also displays accelerometer data):

The interesting parts are the "Pitch/Roll" numbers and the yellow "blob" at the center of the compass. The pitch being a bit off (N01 = 1 degree tilt down/forward) can probably be explained by the "hump" on the back of the phone, but the roll being off (V02 = 2 degrees tilt to the left) is a bit more troubling. I have to noticeably tilt the phone to the right to get a 0 degree reading. Ok, so this isn't really a problem in everyday use, since it's a pretty small deviation, but it's a bit annoying to the perfectionist in me. So I would like to know whether this is "normal" or if one should expect a perfectly calibrated accelerometer.
EDIT: Actually, when I turn the phone vertical the left tilt error seems to pretty much double. Also, even though the phone shows close to 0 degrees up/down tilt when level, it doesn't show anything near 90 degrees when held vertical. It's more like 85 degrees, and I have to go way past "zenith" (so the phone's screen is angled slightly toward the floor) for it to show 90 degrees. This means that in apps such as Sky View I have to tilt the phone up a bit to get the horizon vertically centered on the screen.
Are these accelerometers just that inaccurate, or is it just mine?
Anyone? I would really appreciate some answers!
are there not apps that you can use to "recalibrate" and correct this? With all measurements systems there will be inherent errors due to the hardware, which is why the recalibration comes in, and there are simply too many variables, eg how flat is your flat surface? Is the casing on the phone flat?

No, there's no way to globally calibrate the accelerometer. You can do it locally in certain apps, but the problem will remain in every other app.
And about the "variables": Of course such things will affect things a bit, but they can't account for all the issues I'm seeing. Not even close.
Nobody has two minutes to try this out and check what results they get...?

This is another feature of my SGSII that I LOVE and miss on my GNEX (thank GOD I still have my SGSII).
On the SGSII under Settings there is the ability to calibrate your Accelerometer and the Gyro as well. Why they did not incorporate that into the GNEX I dont know. Maybe there is a Dev that can port the settings over?

Yeah, it seems like such an obvious thing to include on the OS level, since these accelerometers clearly aren't always perfect out of the box (I've read about several people who have similar issues with their GNexuses).
How is the one in your phone? Do you experience any of the problems I'm describing?
I just got this thing yesterday from eBay, refurbished from Asus for $209 (32gb) and one of the first things I noticed was a small protrusion from above the microphone jack. Here's my dilemma, I'm really into my electronics looking perfect although I know over time they will have little problems. But is this something to worry about or me just being anal?
I have the opportunity to get it exchanged but it would take a several days and besides being anal I'm not patient.
Thanks in advance.

Well, it's definitely not something that's supposed to be there - I just checked my tablet and it doesn't have that slight lump. The only thing it might possible interfere with would be headphones, and even then there's a really slim chance. Pop in some headphones and see if they work - if they do, there should be no other problems.

I just tested out the headphone jack and it works just fine. So basically it's just an aesthetic issue at this point.
Is it worth going through an exchange for though? Part of me feels as if it has this problem there is a chance it might have others.

For another device I would tell you to get a new one.
But for this tablet...
If you can't find any other issue (dead pixels, random reboot, touchscreen issues grounded or not, etc) you should keep it. The next one could be OK aesthetically but have other problems.

"Yet Another MultiTouch Test" from the play store is a good way to test multi-touch.
If the tablet is in a perfect electrical shape, I would simply keep it. Check the display for dead or stuck pixels, dirt or light bleeding ( though I don´t have anything against it ) and multitouch issues. If the device is usable, I would rather keep it and don´t bother about this dent. The guy who has opened the device before seems to have two left hands though...
its evident that it may have been opened (not sure for what). but as mentioned above, if all works great, no issues at all, just use and enjoy it. other units have issues, and risky to get those to replace a perfectly good one (aside from that bump).
I am coming from pixel 4 xl. I really miss how easy it was to just pick up phone and have it instantly unlock when I look at it.
This fingerprint sensor is horrible! works 2 out of 10 times. I also miss squeezing the phone to summons my assisted. quick tap not working with the case I am using.. Everything else I love. Maybe they can update fingerprint software in the future...
I don't have that much of a problem with the fingerprint reader but I do miss Face Unlock. I come from and S21 Ultra and I also miss not having to press Enter after entering my PIN.
why is Face Unlock not enabled on this?....that doesn't make much sense
It was shown in one of the promotional photos...

Face Unlock on the Pixel 4 XL was too sensitive in my opinion; every time I walked past or moved my face in the phone's direction it would come on. Tbh it's a bit of a relief not having to constantly turn the screen off... And when commuting with a mask on, I find it much easier as well. But I understand that having the choice would be ideal.
I also miss my Faceunlock/Soli combi. Let's hope that Google might bring it back with the P7 / P8 ...
Best thing would still be Fingerprint (backside!) AND faceunlock plus soli and active edge. Maybe... one day...
At worst Google should provide it as an option! cheers

Well, they advertise their phone being super secure with some fancy security firms giving them big industrial thumbs up, that doesn't really work with a cheap 2D knockoff-faceunlock being available. Because of that - I believe - they will never add what people here want, at least not with the P6.
Our best hope are developers that might find some old leftover faceunlock data hidden in the files. At least concerning the leaked marketing material, we know Google at least thought of having faceunlock+fingerprint available - or it was just a mockup about Android 12 in general and it only had the Pixel 6 stock photo as background, and later on they decided NOT to use it, exactly because people might misunderstand that "muh, looks like Pixel 6, must have feature you show!!! mighty LAWSUIT incomin'!".
I completely agree. Someone in another post said it best. Google should've stayed with rear FPR and also left face-unlock. That way you don't need this cheap ass FPR that needs you to first push the power button or have lift to wake activated. It's by far the thing I hate the most about this phone. Cheap assholes
Missing them both as well. I had squeeze set to flashlight and used it a lot for quick access to it.
Yeah same here missing active edge after two years, squeezed phone a number of times then looked at the phone doing nothing, at least no vibrate reminds me this phone does not have it. Face unlock has been annoying for mask wearing but still wish it had it as an option.
The face unlock on the Pixel 4XL is actually why I got rid of the phone. It was constantly setting off the radar detector in my car
Missing it but I'm getting used to the fingerprint. I hope they bring back face unlock even if it's not as secure as the one on the pixel 4
Just popped up on Google feed there for me, this is what iv been wanting a full pixel eco system, having G assist on a watch would be like perfect!

Since they dropped almost every new device because of the chip shortage, I wouldn't get my hopes too high. I remember 9to5 making a lot of news about the Pixel Fold, only to have other Tech sites 3 weeks later claim that it's a dead product for now.

I think they might go for it considering the amount of pixels they are selling atm it only makes sense for them to now have an eco system for it, they already have there own operating system for it wearos, so I hope they do

1) I run google free. The presence of the "assistant" was the part of the google spyware system that finally convinced me that it was time to get rid of it all. You should be very cautious about allowing anyone to spy on you. Read some George Orwell -- what they are ACTUALLY doing now was at that time seen as an unbelievable overstep.
2) I stopped wearing watches when I got my first cell phone. Why do I need to carry two things that do the same thing? The phone is a lot more convenient since it has a much bigger screen.
The whole idea of a "smart watch" is a gimmick. Don't fall into it.
Google might get into the smart watch game to compete with Apple and Samsung. I mean, it is logical. It is a good move to get into that market. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple starts making electric cars.
Oh good...another half baked device.
As long as I can sideload the Google Assistant to my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic I'd be happy
Maybe find an app that can rebind my HW Keys to replace Bixby too

That would be very frightening. They are not good at things that are complicated. If it happens, I'll be trying to come up with some means of detecting them (i.e. 360 degree visual) and alerting me when one is getting close so I can keep well clear of it.

I wish people could figure out that electric cars are not as "environmentally responsible" as they're made out to be. The reason Musk makes them comes down exclusively to the fact that you can't run an internal combustion engine on Mars. Tesla is a hell of an R&D lab for that.
Hello,
Im thinking of buying a Samsung galaxy fold z 4 for my work in the hospital.
There are two main things I want to be able to do with it:
1-Utilise portable ultrasound using a Clarius Ultrasound scanner which I have and use with iPhone at moment. Could someone please install this free app from App Store "Clarius Ultrasound App",create a free account and load a virtual scanner"demo" in the app and send screenshot in fullscreen mode please of abdominal scan?

I would greatly appreciate it as need to know if it will work for work with the ultrasound scanner I have, You don't need a scanner to view the virtual scanner in the app. the virtual scanner mode is used to show off the scan quality that can be achieved with the device.
I'm concerned I would buy the phone and the image would not work in full screen tablet mode utilising the two screens as one large one to show a larger ultrasound image.
2-Interested in using Microsoft word to annotate daily notes but may just use Galaxy notes.Let me know which is best in terms of handwriting search.
THanks for your help
Here you go.
Interface is a little big but it's working fullscreen.
About the handwriting, Note and Fold use the same system, so you're gonna have exactly the same experience, except with a bigger screen on the Fold, and that you have to keep your S pen in your pocket.

You're welcome !
If your screen is in front of you you don't even see the hinge.
On the side, with a black picture it's barely visible.
Honestly that's really not an issue and you quickly get use to it. The biggest "problem" is with the S pen when you write on it, that's surprising at first.
I come from a Note and I really enjoy it.

I think that will do a great job for keeping in pocket for when need to do quick ultrasound.
I’m Kean to see if will be good for keeping notes on for myself.

Just tried with a pdf and yeah the research is working in the content.
That's great I didn't even know that that's gonna save me a lot of time.
