Currently using xiaomi.eu and after 1 game of wild rift, my temp can reach 65c and all my cpu core reach max, is that my phone problem or setting problem? Thanks, it burns my finger
hi,
sorry to jump into your discussion but I would be interested to know what app you use to check cpu.
Thanks and again sorry for the intrusion.

hello, you should check for battery temps, using apps like Devinfo, my CPU is fluctuative too but the battery usually under 40 con light gaming, and up to 46c when playing genshin impact

hi thanks for reply, so the main temperature to look for is battery temp? if battery temp then mine is between 40-47c

This might be a question better answered by Samsung (unless it is a carrier model). Many questions though....
Does it get too hot to hold? Are you charging it while playing? Is your tablet oc/ov? What is the ambient temperature where playing?
Here is a previous thread with this same topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251830
Might scroll through the posts and maybe even post there about it as well. Sorry, can't help anymore than this.

But its not a problem. Your device will power down or turn down CPUs when you reach a certain temperature threshold. At least I know my phone does. I've never seen temperatures like that on any of my devices. The most I've ever seen even when over clocked to 2.1 GHz is in the 50s. Even then I'm not worried about it damage isn't done until the high 80s 90s. But how are you getting these temps. Are you outside in 90 degree heat gaming? I even have my GPU way over clocked and I never seen 70.

Yeah, only problem I had with this device and my Note 2. (same processor). These bad boys heat up. Especially if you do alot of flashing of roms.
Yea I ran my note 2 really hot playing dead trigger last night and overclocked 1.92 ghz plus 733 mhz gpu overclock but I still dont have heat readings of more than 56 celcius. And I have an app that monitors cpu temperature while im playing so I can see it in real time. Maybe your device is having a problem. Oh do you have a real thick case? That can cause heat buildup. If I leave , y case on my note 2 while playing a game it causes less heat dissipation and runs almost 10 degrees warmer. You might wanna consider that

Why will undervolting harm your CPU or battery? I can see stability issues with undervolting and have experienced them while experimenting with the settings. I cant see how it would harm the hardware though. As someone said above. The device should shut down if the processor gets too hot to protect itself. Also, undervolting should reduce the temperature.
The built in powersaving option in touchwiz will underclock your cpu to 1.1GHz. you can set it back to your standard setting with a push of a single button the menu.
I overclock and undervolt and have no worries about damage. I have had issues with my tablet turning itself off sometimes, but it has only happened on particularly hot days. I reduced my OC from 1.8 to 1.7Ghz. And i reduced my undervolt from -75 to -50 vs stock as I was having the occasional crash.
Are the CPU and GPU on the same processor or located in the same area of the tablet? I hear alot on hear about the CPU temp making the device extremely warm but wondered how the GPU acted. If you underclock the CPU, does this put more load on to the GPU when playing games or will the GPU load be the same regardless.

OK, get Antutu Benchmark, run the 15-min stress test, then in the app's info tab check battery's temperature. We'll compare it. Actually note the temperature before and after test.
Antutu measures only battery's temperature but for this test it is good enough, however do not recharge it during the test.

The tablet is not thermal throttling. If you have that turned off, turn it back on. I had it off on my lg g3 once and it hit 110°C while it was updating apps. Check the thermal tab in K.A

Hi. Maybe someone can help or explain.
Is it normal, that the CPU drain the battery that much?
Thanks in advance.
Mine is showing 28.3% highest useage as well.
Not worried as I still get 12-14 hours over 2-3 days.

These numbers are pretty much useless IMHO. If you lower your brightness and use internet less you'll get higher percentage in CPU. Download BetterBatteryStats and you'll find much more usefull info there.
Thanks for your answers :good:
Allet normal
On my Lenovo P2 I had a battery drain problem, the phone couldn't go to deep sleep because there was something going in the background. With Cpu Spy I noticed that the CPU was constantly used at 625mhz in standby. At the end I realized that the problem was Root Checker app. Uninstalled immediately, problem solved.
Hi All,
I'm using my Z2 since 2017 Jan. I've unlocked the bootloader after a year (non-treble), and since then I've used AEX, Bootleggers etc. Last week after i've switched to carbon rom, I've noticed heating for normal usage. Normal multitasing (Facebook, Chrome, 9gag app) = 45-55 degrees of Celsius. I've switched between a couple roms, no change. This is when I've decided to start over - ZUI 1.9 - bootloader lock then 3.5.X for the baseband, then bootloader unlock, new TWRP, Treble this time. I've tried AEX 5.8 and now ArrowOS, but no change, when I wake up the phone 30-32 C, then when I open something up 40-45-47 very quickly. Is there a way to fix this, or maybe I have HW issue?
Thank you
Try using the sun cooling mod

There are thermal mods available for aggressive throttling of CPU for achieving lower temps. You may also try using a kernel which supports editing on fly, like nameless (using kernel editor app from play store) to underclock your CPU / GPU for less heat.

I agree that ambient temperature plays a big role in device heat management, but software(thermal configurations) play a huge role in regulating temperature, you can experiment yourself, just underclock processor in kernel adiutor to about 1.8 ghz and heating will be reduced significantly, our device has sd820, which is known to have heating issues in many devices. It's a quite powerful proccesor(2.15ghz) , so when all the cores are performing at their highest (like when playing pubg) ,heating is bound to happen . So by underclocing to 1.8 ghz you can reduce it. And regarding thermal config files, they are just files that throttle the performance of the device when it's heating, to cool down, sure your device's performance will take a hit, but this will cool down your phone

Thanks for the long reply. But being a noob it seems I am still unable to find the answer for my question.
How can a software cool down my device below ambient temps?
As far as I know, no software tweak can even push device temps below ambient. And ambient being 45c, device will for sure run a few deg over that. No matter how much tweaking is done.
So not sure how I am "mad" for calling 45-55c range normal !!
