Hi, is there a simple and WORKING method to decrypt data on EMUI 9.1? On stock and custom ROM? ( I mean DATA section without encryption, you can interact with it in TWRP).
Thanks in advance.

Hello, I sometimes use the following methods.
Unfortunately a factory reset is required.
CUSTOM GSI ROM
Requirements:
- Root
- TWRP (installed over eRecovery, it makes things easier)
- Stock recovery
1. Download the patch
https://mega.nz/file/UptUzCpZ#GbVkUz-e7_Z09D8z3h3Vdbrcq56WDge1A-J9J-pXr0Q
2. In TWRP mount Vendor
3. Flash the .zip patch
4. In TWRP boot into stock recovery and perform factory reset
5. Reboot
STOCK EMUI 9.1
Requirements:
- Root
- Root file manager (Solid Explorer)
1. Install root file manager
2. Open > root/vendor/etc/fstab.hi6250 and
delete all references to 'aes 256' in the line relate to the /data
3. Save changes.
4. Factory reset in Stock recovery.
5. Reboot.

Does this recovery work?
I have flashed the same recovery via rom manager and it just comes up with a black screen
Koush has said he will fix it in the next few days

This was already posted a few days ago and it was stated that it didnt work and the link removed.
I have removed the link from the original post until its working and then the first person to post the information (or the developer) will have the right to post it.

for me its working well. just made backup and using SU after etc. no issue at all
but i installed cwm from ROM manager instead
How does CWM save/store its ROMS, and where does it load from? With the Xoom, without a working SD, it was not possible to use CWM.
If the onboard storage is all one volume with the OS, is the storage included in the backup, and how is the images written if the storage is needed to hold the ROMS to be flashed?

I'd like to know this too. I found something that would back it up, but you need root first. I'd like to be able to back it up before rooting if possible.

Rooting shouldn't affect the Recovery partition so you should be able to safely root then backup your stock recovery before installing ClockworkMod Recovery?
Or if someone backs up theirs you could download it and keep a copy of it?
Anyone can post here recovery.fstab ?
I have just installed Rom Manager and I get a FC but it seems to have installed the CWM OK. It successfully rebooted to CWM and I could navigate around but I didn't try flashing anything yet.
The issue may be more with Rom Manager than the recovery
Installed CWM just fine, however when i try to do a nandroid backup it says "Can't mount backup path" or when i try to browse for a zip to install "Can't mount /sdcard/".
My first guess is that it is because i encrypted my phone, but i believe it works on my Xoom, which is encrypted as well... (I will check this later when i have my Xoom nearby)
FYI, this recovery also is confirmed working on my VZW LTE version.
Backups are approximately 6-700MB and are ext4.tar files for system, data and cache.
I've modified Robin's boot.img to disable forced encryption.
With encryption gone, you'll be able to use TWRP to flash mods etc, without having to wipe your data every single time.
Other benefits include faster performance and better battery life.
Unfortunately, to actually remove the encryption - you will need to format one last time.
But once done and set up, you'll see that your phone is no longer encrypted.

Requirements:
- Unlocked bootloader
- PC / Mac
- fastboot (+ USB drivers if needed) -or- existing TWRP install
Instructions:
If you're using TWRP:
1. Perform a factory reset from within TWRP and reboot back into it (Note: This isn't required if your upgrading from an existing unencrypted stock install).
2. Flash the included zip file
3. Reboot
Manual flash using fastboot:
1. Download the zip and extract the boot.img file
2. Reboot your Robin into fastboot mode
3. Flash using the command:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x2c3f flash boot boot.img
4. Factory reset. (This isn't required if your Robin is already unecrypted and you simply want to update your /boot)
Note: If you skip this step, your phone will remain encrypted.
5. Reboot
Rollback:
1. Re-Enable encryption from Settings -> Security -> Encrypt Phone
2. Flash the stock boot.img

Thanks, worked well!
Thank tested, will se if it gets any faster. Have been having some problem with lag that comes from time to time that I haven't seen on other devices.
Otherwise, great to see support for such a small phone!
The Robin devs are trying to be Community friendly as much as possible its good to see.

Unfortunately no, because the OTA includes an updated delta for the kernel as well (which means the /boot needs to be 100% stock).
If you want to install via the OTA, you need to restore the stock boot.img (and the system partition - if you're rooted or modified it in any way, and the recovery too, if you have TWRP installed).
Alternatively, you may simply flash the updated stock ROM zip on top of your existing install - just be sure to flash the new boot.img zip immediately after (as well as SuperSU and any other mods you may have, if you want to preserve your current setup).
Thank you for this [deXter] it works great.
However does anyone have a solution for how to get rid of the 5 sec nag screen popping up at reboot?
Thanks in advance/arc.

This mod only allows you to use your phone unencrypted - it shouldn't affect your battery or WiFi. Are you sure you flashed the correct version?
Goto Settings - About. If you're on the June 1 ROM (Build 00WW_1_350) then your kernel version should say 3.10.84 Wed Jun 1. If these numbers do not match then restore to the latest factory image/ROM and start over. Also, have you tried a factory reset yet?
For 450 Please
Updated for build 450.
Hi everybody! Just receveid the OTA notification
I'm currentyl on 6.0.1 1450 rooted with twrp, do you have the modified boot.img for the Nougat beta as well? Thanks
Many thanks for this work. Getting the Robin rooted and usable was a struggle compared to the Nexus4. This mod helped greatly.

Boot.img for N108?
Use the modified FED Patcher for the Robin from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...d-patcher-robin-forceencrypt-disable-t3352006
It worked fine for me on 108. After flashing the latest 108 7.1.1 file from the Razer forums, I flashed TWRP 3.1.0-0, then the FED Patcher, and finally Super SU 2.82.
After a lot of messing about I managed to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP but now it won't boot into the system, TWRP boots into recovery fine, but when trying to boot in system it just idles on this screen.

Stock rom will not boot if you flash TWRP & select to modify system as clearly explained in my twrp thread
All you need to do is select install then select storage on bottom left - select the storage location you have placed your super user zip
If you haven't got one just connect phone to PC whilst in recovery mode & transfer it over
Or
Format system data cache then reboot to recovery & then flash a custom rom
Also your twrp is out of date - I suggest going to my twrp thread unless you flashing the lineageos 15.1 64bit version then you need the twrp from that thread that supports 64bit rom flashing

Live l1 and lite l1 is a completely different devices
This TWRP actually partially works for Live L1 (ZA550KL, SD425). The problems are 1) it can't decrypt /data, 2) it fails to mount /xrom (which is inexistent on the Go variant) and 3) no ADB/MTP, but for flashing ROMs/addons, backing up and restoring, it works nicely. Just letting y'all know about it.

Can you link me to the one you know of? I just found another one from TWRP Builder, and it did fix most problems, but I still can't use decrypted data (shows "encryption unsuccessful" on boot). And it doesn't expose /vendor either which is a small letdown. <- Fixed by unpacking and editing recovery.fstab.

I used a GSI to update from Oreo to Pie. But the TWRP has only 2 options (boot & Recovery) to flash the .img file. However, I did a restore & back with the old Oreo. I want to upgrade my Asus Lite 1 to Pie!! Is there any possibility to get the mobile back to the factory state including recovery? So, that I can begin from one.

Well there is a fastboot rom available in my telegram channel of lite l1 check in there
Accidentally deleted the OS and now the mobile isn't even switching on. Any solution for this? Anyway I can install an OS ?
My mobile is ASUS Zenfone Lite L1.
You can have safestrap on pie android 9 which gives you some ability to modify system files flash zips etc and have access too data and other partitions that are normally blocked but you can not run root on android 9 because root on android 9 requires a modified boot image.
Phone that fail DRK or DM-Verity check in recovery and wont boot this will work on those.
All Samsung stock rom features will work just like a fully stock rom will
Anything here with a .7z extension will get unzipped before using
Anything here with a .zip extension will get flashed as zip in safestrap
Anything here with a .tar or .md5 gets flashed in odin
Anything here with a .img extension gets flashed as image in safestrap

Prerequisites Before Flashing Pie With Safestrap Roms
You must have safestrap installed. Method too achieve this found Here
Pie With Safestrap Roms
1. Copy pie system image to your phone while phone is booted normally the image is too big too copy while booted in safestrap. This image will be flashed in safestrap using install tab and the the flash image tab at bottom. System images get flashed too system partition
2. After done flashing pie rom on initial flash of pie system image in safestrap you need to wipe data in safestrap reboot too download and flash BL_G95******_LEAVE_SAFESTRAP_V8.tar.md5 in BL slot in odin and G950U_CACHE_FORCE_REBOOT_V8.tar.md5 in Userdata slot in odin the phone will boot too stock recovery where you need to wipe cache and reboot .
3. Rebooting too stock recovery only needs to be done on initial pie system image flash or a reflash of a system image in safetrap. Rebooting back too safe strap and leaving will only require flashing BL_G95******_LEAVE_SAFESTRAP_V8.tar.md5 in odin BL slot and you can just let phone boot normally.
4. To enter safestrap on pie rom you will need too reboot too download mode and flashBL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G95**_V8.tar.md5 in odin BL slot and when phone reboots it will reboot directly too safestrap. This may take a few seconds too up to a minute so be patient.
5. To leave safestrap and return too rom reboot too download mode and flash BL_G95******_LEAVE_SAFESTRAP_V8.tar.md5 in BL slot of odin and just let phone boot normally
6. Sometimes in safestrap when flashing zips you may get an error about failing too unmount system/resources busy most of the time this doesnt affect anything but if you get the error it would be a good idea to reboot recovery before flashing or doing anything else required in recovery.

How about host adblocking?
How about access to data partition?
How about ability to delete or add apps to system apps?
How about make real data backups?
How about add particular CSC features or easily change CSC code?
How about add a CSC code not available on stock phone?
How about bypass certain hotspot restrictions?
How about edit the build.prop to maybe add multiuser support
These are just a few things you can do with safetrap?
