I am still on OS 10, with arter97's kernel, which works great!
But I have a pair of Lypertek z7's, which advertise to support APTX Adaptive, yet when I pair them, Only "HD audio: Qualcomm® aptX™ audio" shoes up, and defaults to 16bit/44.1hz. I have all the other formats in developer mode, but only AAC and SBC work outside of regular aptX.
Is this something known about this phone? Do I have to begrudgingly upgrade to OS 11 to get the aptX adaptive?
Thanks in advance
Of course you can enable aptx and aptx hd on oneplus 7t because its supported.
Unfortunately, the first oneplus phone that support aptx adaptive is oneplus 8t.

Yes, thank you for that non-answer. The 7t should support "APTX ADAPTIVE" because it has the snapdragon 855+.
As per qualcomm's own website:
Qualcomm aptX Adaptive and TrueWireless Stereo PlusBluetooth audio is increasingly playing a larger role in our lives. With the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform and our accompanying QCC chipsets, we took an end-to-end approach to improve the experience — focusing on quality, latency, and power.
The Snapdragon 855 marks the introduction of Qualcomm aptX Adaptive on mobile. This new codec from the aptX family is designed to intelligently switch between a high-bit rate mode (for the best audio quality for your music) or a low-latency mode (for when you’re gaming). We’re also bringing Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo Plus to the Snapdragon 855, which supports the left and right audio channels to stream directly to the left and right earbuds. This makes it possible to maintain balanced power distribution between both earbuds, resulting in longer playback time and reduce latency. With no primary/secondary earbud, both are connected directly to the phone and then synchronized.

I'm looking for people who have successfully paired an APTX ADAPTIVE device with their 7/7t/7pro, with either OOS 10,11, or a custom rom.
Thanks!
Edit: Furthermore, there are reports of even 1+ 6 series able to utilize APTX ADAPTIVE.

Update: I Magisk -(inactive slot/manual downloaded OOS 11) updated, and literally the SECOND I paired, the APTX ADAPTIVE notification popped up on my screen, and they paired immediately. Furthermore, my bluetooth widget informed me they were connected at 24bit/48khz, with a VERY noticeable increase in clarity and definition.
SO
Yes, the 7t can do the NEWEST APTX ADAPTIVE, once you UPGRADE to OOS 11.
Aptx Adaptive works on OOS11 but it's broken. You will encounter some audio distortion sooner or later.

Whelp, besides not hearing much "pop" in Dora kernel, I also am seemingly incapable of installing viper4android, JamesDSP nor the Razer Dolby app through magisk or otherwise. Alas, the cake, and eating it...
Any tips for how to get a good DSP working with oos 11?

Quite frankly speaking...i have doubts if they make any difference..because i couldn't find any difference with beats on or off on stock rom with senn mx 170 and senn mx 470 earphones. So did a bit of research and this is what i came up with :
HTC wildfire have a TI Audio Chip and to support advanced features like
*SRS
*BEATS
we need at-least a Wolfson DAC or a Yamaha DAC ...which provides enhancement algorithms that is required by BEATS and SRS to work
we just have the files to port it to our devices but it doesn't have the required hardware to process it...that is why we hardly understand a difference...if it works also it cant work the way it is suppose to work..
try using beats on s2 as it has a yamaha DAC or sensation hd that comes with a wolfson DAC...and you would notice the difference...
GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION TO GET TO THE CORE OF THE MATTER...bEATS IS NOT JUST A EQUALIZER SETTING BUT IT RESPONDS TO DIFFIRENT FACTORS

in simple terms lets take the example of realtek audio manager vs realtek HD manager...if we try also we wont be able to beat the quality of realtek HD with realtek as it doesn't have the enhanced algorithim to support HD output...
same goes for our phone...we have the drivers..the filers required but as it is doesn't have the hardware to support it...it would not work like it is suppose to work....
BUT I DO AGREE TO THE FACT ALL OF THESE ARE FANCY SOUND ENHANCING EQUALIZERS BUT FOR THEM TO PERFORM LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO WORK THEY NEED A CHIP THAT SUPPORTS THE ADVANCED FEATURES
a bit more....
With or without a DAC.
A DAC (Digital-to-analog converter) is a microchip that converts the digital audio signal (MP3), into analog signal, for audio output. It is mostly found in Hi-Fi (high fidelity) systems but has made it’s way into MP3 Players and even some Smartphones. A DAC in a mobile device means top audio quality and improved power efficiency, given the fact that the sound processing is handled by the DAC as opposed to the CPU. The DAC handles all audio in the mobile device, including calls and audio recordings in Smartphones.
Beats Audio anyone?
HTC does not own a MP3 Player Division so there is (theoretically) no reason for them to “sabotage” the audio quality in there devices. However, the Beats Audio enhancement in their 2011 devices is only a software implementation. Without a dedicated DAC you can only benefit from Beats when playing back music or watching a video. Only in their latest smartphones, announced at MWC2012, did they advertise a “system wide Beats Audio” solution, through their “Authentic Sound Experience” campaign . That means they (finally) integrated some audio hardware.
FINAL WORDS : HTC WILDFIRE=NO DAC=NO BEATS AUDIO
Glad someone knows what they're talking about, most people here don't listen , so you'll still see "beats" everywhere
I've already said beats "portable to other devices" is fake, especially when they don't have the code required to run beats LOL
yeah ...
op updated.....:victory:
I'd have to disagree a bit on this.
Can't tell for the Wildfire, since it doesn't have an On/Off toggle, but on the Evo3D there are some noticeable changes to the music when you enable it.
I dont think wildfire gets full beats experience but this mod definitely enhanced bass when used in conjunction with dsp.

Looks to have good ground clearance for the vents. Cable hang could cause a wheelie. SPDIF or A/V jack? Looking forward to reviews on the S912 devices.

Received this today, nothing on screen when plugged in, with multiple cables, on all inputs into working outlets. Remote doesn't do anything. What am I doing wrong?
I don't have one of these, but some general things to check. Any LEDs on? Do you have a way to check the power supply/power adapter?
Nope, no LEDs showing on box. Don't know how to test power adapter.
If you know someone with a multi-meter or other voltage tester, perhaps they could check it for you. If you want to try it yourself, it is a simple test and many cheap multi-meters are readily available for $7-$10(USD). Power adapters are relatively common fail point on these types of devices.
You could also find a substitute power adapter, but it is very important that the substitute matches the original. This information can be found on the power adapter....
-Volts DC=Volts DC(Must match exactly)
-Amps=Or greater
-Tip Polarity(Must match exactly) ie Tip positive or Tip negative, usually indicated by symbols like these...
-Connector size and type must match(fit)
So are the Nexbox A1, Yundoo Y2, Vensmile A1 all made by the same company, Shenzhen Visson Technology Co? Looks like they are the ODM for quite a few others as well.
It may help with potential firmware development.
Bought this box, and it is problems with Tvheadend and Amlogic S912 in Kodi. It will not use HW acceleration in HD Live TV. ?

Would anyone know where I can get un-rooted firmware for this box?
Just unroot the firmware? I need to do this as well, but havn't tried yet.

I'd like to know this as well if you ever find anything.
Hi! I realize this is a small concern for many - but what is the quality of the headphone jack/amp, esp. with higher impedance headphones? The A1 had a beefy amp which could push beefier headphones, but I wonder if Xiaomi kept it for the A2L.
I remember when Mi A1 was launched that the audio output quality was highlighted. The same thing isn't happening with this phone, so I think the amp is not as good as the previous.
But I could be wrong.
I'm using it with a very low impedance headphone, and I do get a bit more noise/hiss than with my previous phone (Oneplus 3). I was able to improve the quality quite a bit through installing Viper4Android though. Just install it through Magisk (Viper4Android FX Materialized v1.7 2.5.0.5.). Works straight away.

Hiss was a problem with the A1 too, precisely because of the amp, when paired with low-impedance phones.
Well, I guess I will have to wait for the phonearena review...

I should add though that I'm using modified Etymotic ER-4P's. They are already pretty treble rich out of the box with a 27 ohm impedance, but I've changed the cords so that the actual impedance is probably closer to 10 now. I like them this way, but they aren't very forgiving and reveal anything..
For those who can understand those numbers:

Hello fellow xda's
Planning on upgrading from a still verry buggy Poco F1 to a F3 and as the title says i need to know if the Poco F3 officially or unofficially suports AptX.
Thanks in advance
Best regards.
No official information on AptX support for the Poco F3, however I think it's pretty safe to say it support AptX since the SD870 has all the features from the SD865.
Take from Poco F2 Pro specs: Support AAC/ LDAC/ LHDC / aptX™/ aptX™ HD/ aptX™ -Adaptive.
Source: https://www.po.co/global/poco-f2-pro/specs
DeviceSpecifications also says the Poco F3 support AptX: https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/c79d55ee
Although, DeviceSpecifications does sometimes gets the specifications incorrect.
Yes it has APTX, I have an Aukey 2-in-1 Wireless Transmitter and Receiver that has an APTX indicator.
And When I paired it with my Poco F3 (V 12.0.5), the indicator is on and on the bluetooth screen you see this :

I have the HD 450 BT and Poco x3 NFC, thinking of upgrading to Poco F3, do you think there would be an improvement on sound? Theoretically, better cpu could mean better sound I guess but maybe not?

My guess is, it won't make any difference, at least one that is noticeable, but it's just a wild guess.

Google is bringing several new features to Bluetooth enabled audio devicesBluetooth-enabled hearables and other home audio devices have gathered great momentum in the past few years thanks to OEMs skimping out on the headphone jack on smartphones and the general increase in audio-only content like podcasts. There’s massive potential in this space, both for growth and for the technology to mature, and the growing interest from consumers and manufacturers is testimony to that. Google is now playing its part in the maturity of these product categories, as it has announced a range of new features for Bluetooth-enabled hearables and home audio devices that improves their utility within Google’s ecosystem.
Bluetooth Multipoint, but made by GoogleGoogle is building a tech similar to Bluetooth’s multipoint, but for Chromebooks and Android devices. Google’s press release is sparse on details, but considering that Bluetooth Multipoint already exists and that the supported devices are going to be Chromebooks and Android devices, we suspect this is something that will leverage Google Play Services or some other proprietary solution.
“We’re building a technology for Bluetooth-enabled headphones that will enable them to automatically switch the audio to whatever device you’re listening to.”

Google says that this audio switching will work in situations where you are watching a movie on a different device, and receive a phone call on a second device, the movie will pause and the headphone audio will automatically switch to your Android phone and then switch back to the movie when you’re done. This sounds very similar to what can already be achieved with Bluetooth Multipoint, so we are indeed curious to see what new tech Google is building to achieve this. This feature will be made available on supported headphones in the next few months.
Spatial AudioGoogle is also bringing Spatial Audio features to supported headphones when used with Android and ChromeOS devices. Spatial Audio adapts sound based on your head movements, positioning the audio in the space all around you.

Spatial Audio was a highlight feature for the Apple AirPods Max at its launch, and many attest to it being a more noticeable feature than lossless audio. This feature will be made available on supported headphones in the next few months, so we hopefully get to experience what the hype is all about.
Expanding Chromecast built-in to more speakers and soundbarsChromecast is a nifty way to move playable content across devices. The most common use-cases for Chromecast have been sharing videos playing on Android phones to TVs with built-in Chromecast. But Chromecast is also useful for audio-only content as well, leveraging the speaker and soundbar ecosystem to more conveniently playback songs and audiobooks.
With this announcement, Google is bringing Chromecast built-in to more home audio brands, starting with all Bose smart speakers and soundbars in the next few months. We’re expecting more brands to be added to this budding list.
