Hello,
I've had this issue since launch and I can't figure a way to fix this. Basically, when I first got my phone, the lock screen was displaying the temperature under the time, with a "tap to learn more" button. And after clicking that, it simply vanished from existence, never to be seen again. It does show itself back when there's a Google Calendar event, but the temperature is gone. And after doing a factory reset recently, the temperature is back, with the "tap to learn more" (which I don’t plan to press, now that I know this will make it go away)
Is there a way to fix this? Thanks
That's a lot of overkill
Find the app and clear it's data next time.
There may be a conflict... like with the Google app*. Could be in settings, somewhere, or in notifications. Disable all power management for now... it will cause erratic behavior.
You need to play with it.
* that nasty little permission to change system settings... can be misused.

I get it. But I had to reset my phone anyway.
My problem is that it shows the temperature, but as soon as I press the "tap to learn more" thing, it shows a slide about at a glance and it just goes away.
So I don't think it's a permission issue if it works just fine before clicking on the forsaken text

You need to track down the associated apks first then look them over. It may be a glitch that you can correct or maybe resetting the apk data is the only way to correct it.
Try clearing the system cache.
Try it in Safe mode to rule out 3rd party apps.

The question is, does it even work for you? I understood that it will be fixed eventually but nah.
Also what kind of apk are you talking about? This is literally the lock screen

I don't have that device but troubleshooting is troubleshooting. You need to dig around for the apk but it's most likely there under system apps.
It's possible the firmware flash was corrupted if so a factory reset won't work. More likey it's a glitch.
Hopefully someone here knows the answer but it's not a major issue. I would tend to just ignore it other then to play with it as a curiosity. No doubt you'll find better fish to fry...

For some reason whenever I open up a book in google books, it starts reading it aloud. I can't find a setting for this anywhere and it is driving me nuts. Has anyone else seen this? I've searched around online and have found absolutely nothing about this. I've run into this on two different ROMs now (Bugless Beast as well as Codename Android). Any help is much appreciated.
I am having the exact same problem without any luck in finding a solution. I would also appreciate any advice to a solution.
Something similar was happening to me as I typed messages in Codename Droid. It would read aloud every word I typed. I'm using Thumb Keyboard - and finally discovered that Text-to-Speech was somehow checked in settings. I had definitely not done it myself - in fact I've never realized it was there, and I've used Thumb Keyboard for years now. Maybe check there? I don't know how it would impact it - but maybe it is.
Also check in the settings for Google's text-to-speech output.
Good luck.
In google books open the book and then hold your finger down near the top of the on screen button. A slider should appear to allow you to move through the book and a bar should appear on the top of the screen. Open the menu and choose the stop reading aloud option.
Yeah, I know you can tell it to stop reading aloud, but the problem is I have to do this every time I open any book. It automatically reads every book aloud as soon as I open it.
I would try wiping data from the Google Books app...
I did that. I can't uninstall it either because it's a system app apparently. I was going to try and uninstall / reinstall after wiping data.

weird I only had to do it in one book and now none of them read aloud automatically. I just installed a 4.0.4 port with the updated gapps of course so maybe its broken in 4.0.2/3?
You should only have to change it once...
Since you've tried deleting data, I would try fixing permissions (using ROM Manager), to see of the changes are not sticking due to a permissions error...
Do you have lightflow installed? I read somewhere (I can't find it right now) there is a bug with the accessibility settings. It will sometimes enable talkback.
Bump any solution yet? It's really annoying

I think there's something to this.
I have no idea if this is always the issue, but I had this problem and when I looked at the accessibility settings, lightflow did show up and was enabled there. I turned it off, and not only does lightflow still work, google books has stopped reading out loud all the time. I'd say turning off all of the accessibility settings that are enabled would be worth a shot, even if you don't have lightflow, there might be something there that's screwing with accessibility.

This is the issue. It is a bug with ICS and not lightflow - but happens none the less.

Thanks! That definitely was the issue. Once I disabled light flow in accessibility settings, the problem went away! You rule!
So you know how when you write out something really long and detailed and triple check it for spelling, grammar and readability and realize that you've been on the page long enough that you have been logged out so you copy everything you've just spent over an hour writing to make sure you don't lose it when you log back in and then you've forgotten your password because you made it in the middle of the night and you were tired so you do a reset and they send you a new password full of random letters so you....copy and paste that into the log in.............yeah..... bye bye 300+ words.......
So I'll try again but forgive me if its short or missing a few details. Please let me know any additional information you think might be useful.
First a short thanks to the community for all of their advice to others. I have learned a great deal from these forums.
Now on to the issue. Essentially what has happened is I received an update to an app called Widgetsoid which was supposedly a complete rewrite and thus I had to recreate my toggles. At one point while using the "Screen always on/off" toggle (in the on position) my phone became unresponsive. After a battery pull and reset I was still experiencing issues. Mainly that the camera app wouldnt open and I couldnt toggle the flash on. I was already planning on doing a factory reset so i pushed up the schedule, backed up my data and went ahead with that. However, after the reset my camera app still won't load. I figured a factory reset would return the OS and the stock apps to their default state but apparently not. Unless of course the error is somehow in the hardware now which would suck.
Anyways my question is this: Where do I go from here? What do you think the problem is? Anyone see any red flags waving violently in the wind?
Thanks in advance for any light you may be able to shed on this issue.
I am getting this error message essentially making the phone useless. I got notification I had an update on Friday. It auto updated, I installed it, it rebooted, and this message continuously pops up and I cant use anything. Factory reset did nothing, and the only semi work around is I was able to get Nova Launcher on there. It semi works but the message comes up every time I lock and unlock the phone.
Nobody seems to know the answer to what the hell this is or what happened but I need someone who is smarter than I to help me fix it please. Any advice is very much appreciated. Phone is unrooted.
Thanks in advance.
Go to setting, General, Apps, All Apps, and fine "Home". Clear cache and reboot.

tried that, it didn't seem to work. Is there something I'm missing? Do certain apps cause this?
Having the same issue right after updating to 6.0; clearing cache didn't work for me either. I suppose I'll try a different launcher in the meanwhile.
"Unfortunately, Home has stopped
I am now rooted using the video instructions from ROOT JUNKY, but I am getting this error message "Unfortunately, Home has stopped" I went to the Apps setting and resets app preference and also clear the home cache but to no effect. i am able to get the simple home setting but not the other advance home setting. please help if you can. Thanks inadvance
LG G4 H815
Problem solved for Lg G4. Go to Settings, General, Apps swipe left to "All" then scroll down to "HOME" not easy home. Open it and clear cache and also "clear data" you will get a warning message when you try to clear data, but that's ok. I was afraid to do this but it works for me, It will only clear and Home screen preference or shortcut you had. You can setup your preferred shortcuts after again. restart and select "Home" as your default. Let me know if this helps
Think not.. Still home crashes
Nope, that's not a fix. All it did was wreck my app placements and settings.. Nothing else. Immediately after clearing the cache and data it crashed exactly the same way.
Home has stopped is becoming increasingly annoying, and also increasing in frequency. I'm going to try Uninstalling the app update that started it all: Voice Mate 4.70.10.
I'll see if this works. If so I'll post here. If not, consider this an open thread and hopefully someone in the G4 community with some skills and knowledge will find a solution.
Anyone found a solution to this problem?

If you have an LG G4 you may have seen this message and waited for the home screen to re-start again, only to happen again and again, I’ve searched all the forums to no avail, so I installed another home screen to got rid of the problem, now have a permanent fix, you have to disable Smart Bulletins:
Go to apps, hit menu, select home screen settings, turn off Smart Bulletins.
My LG K10 every once in a while will start making intermittent sounds similar to the old "Pong" game. There are no text messages or window or alerts that pop up when this happens, it seems to happen randomly and sometimes the sounds come through in rapid fire succession if I am driving around town. It tends to wear down my battery faster whenever this occurs. I check to see if any functions are active by hitting the square at the lower right corner of the screen and nothing shows as running.
Also when this happens a volume setting bar shows up as a pop up at the top of the screen, if I try to mute it, it does not allow me to. If I move the slider bar all the way to the left to kill the volume, the next pong sound moves the bar over to full volume. When this occurs I have zero control of the audio output volume of my phone.
This is extremely annoying and I am about to smash this phone into a thousand pieces. Questions, is this the result of a virus? Or is this the result of someone else taking control of my phone? Is this some kind of "feature" of which I am supposed to be thankful? Is there any way on this planet to put an end to this hyper annoying BS?
This is my first Android phone, I was an iPhone user previously. I am seriously considering getting rid of this and going back to iPhone. Please help.

Also did you try to reset factory settings?

Yes tried admin, there are no admins other than Android Device Manager.
I have not added any apps since I bought the phone.
To me it sounds like half functional malware. Did you bought new phone from shop, or used one from someone else? However the best way of solving would be to flash stock firmware, you have tutorial for that on this forum.

I bought the phone from the T-Mobile store as a brand new phone and have not installed any apps. I assume that flashing the FW means I'll have to backup all my contacts, correct?
And thank you all for your answers I appreciate it.

Well you can backup them just in case. But they should be synced with Google so they will appear on phone once you login with Gmail account.

Assuming I have a gmail account which I don't. So backup it is. Can I do it by attaching it to one of my computers via USB, backup that is. Thanks.

Yes you can, but first you will have to make backup file on phone, or you can backup contact with some LG PC software. Also you can backup to Dropbox/mega/drive via share option from contacts. Let me know did you solved problem via flashing stock firmware.
After the Pie update, my phone was wonky. So I did the sane thing we all do, I did a factory reset.
I then restored all my data and settings in the usual ways. All is well so far. It even seemed to fix the battery drain issue.
BUT!!! I have this stupid thing that won't go away, and I have zero idea what to do or what it is!! It seems to think I want to copy my old data from my old phone, but of course, its the same exact phone. Not sure what to do? Cannot figure out which process it is to kill it. Rummaged around ADB and found nothing
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/H...A0fSUmMvjQpzm73XCWvPpGMrL017bn8=w587-h1043-no
Just click it and at the bottom it should say "don't copy" click it. It may ask you some other things but other things like changing wallpaper or don't size.
You can try going to your setting and dismissing the "recommended actions" at the top, then restart your phone, but idk if it will help.
