My LG K10 every once in a while will start making intermittent sounds similar to the old "Pong" game. There are no text messages or window or alerts that pop up when this happens, it seems to happen randomly and sometimes the sounds come through in rapid fire succession if I am driving around town. It tends to wear down my battery faster whenever this occurs. I check to see if any functions are active by hitting the square at the lower right corner of the screen and nothing shows as running.
Also when this happens a volume setting bar shows up as a pop up at the top of the screen, if I try to mute it, it does not allow me to. If I move the slider bar all the way to the left to kill the volume, the next pong sound moves the bar over to full volume. When this occurs I have zero control of the audio output volume of my phone.
This is extremely annoying and I am about to smash this phone into a thousand pieces. Questions, is this the result of a virus? Or is this the result of someone else taking control of my phone? Is this some kind of "feature" of which I am supposed to be thankful? Is there any way on this planet to put an end to this hyper annoying BS?
This is my first Android phone, I was an iPhone user previously. I am seriously considering getting rid of this and going back to iPhone. Please help.

Yes tried admin, there are no admins other than Android Device Manager.
I have not added any apps since I bought the phone.
To me it sounds like half functional malware. Did you bought new phone from shop, or used one from someone else? However the best way of solving would be to flash stock firmware, you have tutorial for that on this forum.

I bought the phone from the T-Mobile store as a brand new phone and have not installed any apps. I assume that flashing the FW means I'll have to backup all my contacts, correct?
And thank you all for your answers I appreciate it.

Well you can backup them just in case. But they should be synced with Google so they will appear on phone once you login with Gmail account.

Assuming I have a gmail account which I don't. So backup it is. Can I do it by attaching it to one of my computers via USB, backup that is. Thanks.

Yes you can, but first you will have to make backup file on phone, or you can backup contact with some LG PC software. Also you can backup to Dropbox/mega/drive via share option from contacts. Let me know did you solved problem via flashing stock firmware.

So I did a bunch of searching and either I am in the wrong place, or no one else seems to have this problem, but I am seeing the same notifications showing up on my Moto 360 over and over even after I dismiss them. For example, I will get the Google Now scores for sports events (some for teams I couldn't care less about) popping up over and over and over again even after I swipe them away. They are not even real notifications on my phone - so not sure why they are popping up in the first place. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
You have to go into Google Now on your phone and configure the card settings there. Should be options to no longer see cards you're not interested in, or tweak their content. Otherwise it will periodically update phone & watch with cards - this is just how the service works.
Personally I leave it turned off completely as the benefits are meagre vs demands it makes on phone & watch power. There are more efficient ways of keeping yourself updated on the info you need when you need it, IMHO.

Thanks for the reply. So even if I dismiss the notification on the watch, and there is NO notification in the notification tray on the phone, it is expected that I still constantly receive card notifications on the watch? That seems broken to me...

Ok, I got that, but again, my problem is not that the initial notification shows up, it's that once I swipe it away it keeps coming back. I suppose that's an issue with Google Now though and not the watch.
You are not alone.
I'm having the same issue.
Moto 360 4.4W.2 - Wear Mini Launcher
Moto X (2013) 4.4.4 - Google Now Launcher.
I'm almost certain that those launchers are doing it. Days ago I had a friends's birthday notification poping over and over again, it would back to my watch face in like 5s after I had it dismissed, when i remove wear mini launcher all that stoped.
Today I installed it again, just for sake of testing, since is a very helpful software. The problem started again, but now with a amazon delivery notification, so im uninstalling it.

Sorry to rehash an old topic, but I'm having the same issue..
The card in question is to do with sport, and I do want to see the card so turning off isn't an option, but when I swipe it away I don't want it to come back!
Anyone found a solution?

Nope, it's the way Google Now does sport cards -- if a game is in progress, it sends you constant updates. Even if you swipe the update away, the next time anything changes, it'll just reappear, until the game / match is over (once you swipe away the card for a completed game it stays away, for me). I wish Now was more customizable.

Actually having exactly the same problem and it is specifically with sports cards. LG G3 (Verizon) 5.1 and G Watch R. I'll swipe a sports card away (last game score, next game time, etc.) and it will be back within a few minutes. Very irritating.
*Originally I posted this in the Help section of the G3 forums but got no help, so I am posting this here*
Hey all,
So I'm posting this thread regarding a couple pretty weird glitches and bugs occurring on my G3, 3 specific ones.
The first: (Probably the least serious but still REALLY annoying) At EXACTLY 12:00AM every night no matter what timezone I set the phone to (I'm in AU on the AEST GMT+10 timezone but it does this at the same time on any timezone) the phone will switch it's WiFi off automatically without warning, reason or explanation. It just goes off and then I have to manually turn it back on. Sure I could use an app such as Tasker or AutomateIt to turn it back on but I don't see why this is occurring in the first place?
The second issue (Most recent): Lately after updating to the V20E firmware for my D855 I've noticed that a graphical glitch (Specifically related to the colour Blue) occurs when there are fast moving elements on my phone's screen (Such as when I move a chat head around on my phone from Messenger, or when I'm scrolling Facebook or my App Drawer fast, there's just a blue box around whatever object/s appear to be moving on my phone's screen. I've not dropped the phone at all, and it has only been present since updating from the V20D ROM. Not sure what could be causing it.
The third and by far the MOST ANNOYING of the issues I'm having, is that for no apparent reason, whenever I am listening to Music with the stock Music player, and I lock the screen (The screen goes off) about 5 seconds later weird stuff starts to happen..
The song will pause, play or even stop completely, seemingly on its own. The "phone" will change songs, artists and sometimes complete albums and playlists completely by itself, with me doing nothing but staring at the lock screen (It keeps doing it until I re-enter the Music app, then when I lock the phone the whole cycle just repeats itself.)
I've done some looking around and careful observations on the phone itself, and it seems that before the weird stuff starts happening to my music, the phone opens Voice Mate by itself, and then if I'm not present, it apparently closes it and then that's when the stuff happens. I've tried everything I can on a non-rooted phone to stop this. I've tried re-installing the Music app, Uninstalling all updates to the Voice Mate and it's packages to the factory version, force-stopping Voice Mate, everything and no matter what I do the phone still opens Voice Mate and the weird stuff starts happening (It's like it's taking commands from Voice Mate to do something but I'm not even doing anything ) It's been doing this since I got my phone when it came with Android KitKat 4.4 (I was on the D10M ROM until I moved to the D20D Android L ROM) and I moved ROMs doing a completely fresh start ( I factory wiped the phone and then upgraded via a CSE flash and put all my stuff back on it manually) and I would've thought a completely fresh start would have fixed it but apparently not... Either it's a bug that's been present for a while, or it's something deeper than the ROM.
So yeah some pretty weird issues, if someone knows what could be causing them, please let me know, especially if you know a way to solve them.
Cheers guys.
I'd do a factory reset for bugs 1 and 2. If that doesn't fix it, then do a clean flash from LG's Flash Tool. Regarding the first one, I think that it may be due to Quiet Mode on your phone? Or possibly even Battery Saver automagically kicking in at 12.
But yeah, backup your data and do a reset. It fixes around 80% of bugs after an update (As a rule of thumb I reset just before and right after an update to avoid any issues.

the WiFi issue seems like its something to do with battery saver/quiet mode (to me anyway). Unless your router is kicking the phone off at that time?
EDIT:
oh and regarding the Voice Mate issue it could be either the jack or your headphones?

Okay this has bugged the heck out of me for ages, maybe someone knows the answer to it.
The top notification bar (and sometimes the row underneath in certain apps) sometimes is completely unpressable, as if it's being blocked. I should note this happens on my Note 7, but has also occurred on my Note 3, my old S2 and even the S7. Which makes me think it must be a setting I choose, or an app I install.
Sometimes, I'll turn on my phone, go past the lock screen and I won't be able to drag the notification bar down. I found a workaround (which has worked on all my old phones).
- Turn the phone off
- Turn it back on
- On the lock screen try to drag the notification bar down (which doesn't do anything)
- Unlock the phone
- Then it works again!!
My mrs had this too, and my workaround fixed it.
This issue has spanned over multiple versions of Android and is now doing my head in.
Any ideas?
Some app overlay is on top of it such as: Flux, blue light filter, and things like that. Once disable the issue is gone. That might be your issue.

I would place a 90% bet on this being a carried over app problem. Have you tried a fresh reset and reproduced the problem?
Have you also tried the service test for Touch ans S Pen? *#0*#

I think so too. One example I have an issue with is the offscreen memo function. I pull the stylus out and can write on the screen off, but the row of buttons along the top NEVER work! But, I should say on a hard reset it was fine until all the apps were installed and logged into, or a setting was put in place. The service test for S Pen and Touch works perfectly. All I can think is trying to install 1 app at a time, and seeing what happens as a result. Will be painful with 100+ apps though. I'm about to replace my N7 on the recall too so I want to hold off on a hard reset too.
I feel your pain, if it were me I would rather discover the erroneous app now than later. Perhaps a backup via smartswitch on PC (very fast over USB 3) and when you know which app restore the backup and delete the app accordingly?

By pure luck. I found it. 3 years of pain and I nailed the bugger! Something you said triggered a thought process.
It was....
Cerberus security! An app that automatically hides itself from the draw once it's installed so usually never crossed my mind.
Disabling the "Block Status bar" feature in Cerberus fixed it.
PHEW!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for this (both of you).
good for you!
I've been having an issue with my Z2 Force that I've never had with any of my other phones. For some reason, it acts like I'm hitting the home button, even when I'm not touching it. I could be using a web browser, the XBox app, or any other app and it will go back to whatever launcher I have set as default. It doesn't close the app, it just minimizes it. I've tried disabling the home button for navigating & use the touch buttons instead, and when that didn't work I tried doing a factory reset. Well, it's still doing it, and I'm to the point where I'm very tempted to try to use one of the rooting methods I was able to find online, one of which does mention the specific model of my Verizon variant (XT1789-01). I can live without root if needed, but this 'phantom home button pressing' thing is driving me nuts. Any help is appreciated, and thanks.
I have 4 Moto Z2 Force in my house, 2 of them (Android 9, Verizon version) have this same issue.

I'm still working on getting myself to go through with trying the root method I found. I think it'd work, but my main issue would be with making sure I can find a rooted ROM for the phone. Assuming the method works and I don't bork my phone, I'd still need a different ROM to install in order to determine if it's a hardware issue or software based. By the way, on the chance you're thinking of trying to remove the screen protector, be aware it is realllllllly stuck on there. I almost pulled my screen off, but I was able to remove it & was rewarded with a bunch of left over residue.
At any rate, if I do actually get myself to do the root thing, I'll be sure to post my results here.

My concern is whether the root method I found is legit or not. The only reason why I want to attempt it is because the description mentions the specific model of my phone. All variants of the Z2 Force start with XT789-, but it's the number after the '-' you have to look for, and for Verizon users is '01'. Rooting the phone will let me install a different version of Android that should help me narrow down the cause of the glitch. Since your phone is doing the same thing mine is, it's more-than-likely not due to an app, so it has to be either the OS or a hardware thing.

It's possible that might work, but either way I still need to be able to root the thing and find a ROM made for the Verizon model. My phone has only been doing this for a couple weeks or so, but before that it would actually fully close certain apps (gsam Battery Monitor, RadioU, Taskbar, and some others). However, I more than less fixed that by setting the timers for those apps to 23 hrs.
How did you set the timers? That fixed the problem of minimizing the apps?

The reason why I tried setting timers on certain apps was because they were being killed automatically, this was before the 'phantom' home button thing. The following steps may/may not resolve your current issue, but you can try them if you'd like:
1. Go to Settings
2. Apps & notifications
3. Screen time
4. At the bottom, you'll see a few apps listed, and a an option to show all of your apps. Select 'Show all apps', then the app you want to set the timer for.
5. Next to each app you'll see a little hour glass. If it's empty, then there is currently not timer set. If you'd like to set a timer, tap the hour glass, then set your desired time.
Again, I did all this well before my phone started acting like I was hitting the home button in an effort to get it to stop closing my favorite apps. For the most part, it worked, but the automatic closing thing only started after the upgrade to Android 9. I did find a site where I could download a previous stock ROM, but without root it may/will re-update again. There's an app that let's you prevent updates, but the phone has to be rooted in order for the app to work. I can't really remember the name app right now, but I used to use it on my Note 4. I think there was also a way to do it through the command line in Windows (might've worked in Linux, too), or it might've been a combination of an app and the command line.
In any case, the root method I thought I'd found wasn't really all that instructive, and I need to make sure I can actually fully unlock the boot loader before attempting root. If I can't unlock it, then whatever root method I try won't stick. The auto home button thing, at least on my phone, seems to be random, though. Sometimes it'll be fairly soon after opening an app, other times the app will stay open for a good while before going back to the home screen.
Well, like I said, I have other 2 Moto Z2 Force but they are Sprint or whatever the carrier are. They don't have the phantom home button problem. But they are in Android 8. I actually don't have a problem on click the multitasking button to go back to the app but the problem is on the games and that stuff. So if I go back to Android 8 the system will update automatically to 9? I didn't know that, I thought that it was volunteer hahaha. Btw I don't even know how to downgrade since I'm not a moto user of all life. This is my first experience with a moto phone and it sucks. . Hahaha actually the home button problem happen.

It may not immediately update the OS after a downgrade, but you would get a notice there's an update available, even on a rooted phone. Since root only removes the barriers that're usually there to keep the less knowledgeable from hurting their phones, you'd still get any update notices a non-rooted phone would usually get. There is an app called NoBloat Free, and with it there are two files you'd be able to block that'd keep your phone from updating when you don't want it to. I'm not sure if the app is still in the Play Store or not, but I did use it on my Note 4, and it worked pretty well.
On a side note, I've had Opera open on my phone for a while now, and so far it hasn't gone back to the home screen yet. As for the phone itself, Moto phones are pretty good phones, my Z2 Force is my fourth phone from Moto (the other three being the RAZOR smartphone, Bionic, and the original RAZOR, which I sometimes miss). For all we know, our issue could be caused by a software glitch, hence my desire to root and test a different ROM.
Do you know how to downgrade to 8.0? I'll try it, it's a good phone and I didn't pay so much por this, that's why I'm not that angry. I won't root the phone since the games I play would kick me from the game. So just for make me sure I understand, do you reestablished the phone with a computer or from the same phone?

I think I may have finally given my phone the smack in the pants it needed to start behaving itself again. I followed the link you provided, and one of the comments suggested installing any updates for a couple Verizon apps and disabling them. Not sure if this would work on a non-Verizon phone or not, but I've had the XBox app open on my phone for over 20 minutes now, and so far it hasn't minimized yet. To be accurate, I even closed & reopened the app. The apps mentioned were Verizon App Manager & My Verizon Services. I was able to disable the first app, but not the second, and rebooted my phone after doing so.
If your phone isn't from Verizon, there may be a similar pair of apps you could try disabling, though I'd probably look it up first to be on the safe side.
Update: It's been almost two hours now and the app still hasn't closed. Now, to get the screen protector residue off my phone.
Hello,
I've had this issue since launch and I can't figure a way to fix this. Basically, when I first got my phone, the lock screen was displaying the temperature under the time, with a "tap to learn more" button. And after clicking that, it simply vanished from existence, never to be seen again. It does show itself back when there's a Google Calendar event, but the temperature is gone. And after doing a factory reset recently, the temperature is back, with the "tap to learn more" (which I don’t plan to press, now that I know this will make it go away)
Is there a way to fix this? Thanks
That's a lot of overkill
Find the app and clear it's data next time.
There may be a conflict... like with the Google app*. Could be in settings, somewhere, or in notifications. Disable all power management for now... it will cause erratic behavior.
You need to play with it.
* that nasty little permission to change system settings... can be misused.

I get it. But I had to reset my phone anyway.
My problem is that it shows the temperature, but as soon as I press the "tap to learn more" thing, it shows a slide about at a glance and it just goes away.
So I don't think it's a permission issue if it works just fine before clicking on the forsaken text

You need to track down the associated apks first then look them over. It may be a glitch that you can correct or maybe resetting the apk data is the only way to correct it.
Try clearing the system cache.
Try it in Safe mode to rule out 3rd party apps.

The question is, does it even work for you? I understood that it will be fixed eventually but nah.
Also what kind of apk are you talking about? This is literally the lock screen

I don't have that device but troubleshooting is troubleshooting. You need to dig around for the apk but it's most likely there under system apps.
It's possible the firmware flash was corrupted if so a factory reset won't work. More likey it's a glitch.
Hopefully someone here knows the answer but it's not a major issue. I would tend to just ignore it other then to play with it as a curiosity. No doubt you'll find better fish to fry...
