LG G7 - installing older stock camera app - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hello! I'm pissed off because of the limit recording 4K 30fps to 10 minutes only after Android update.
Is there a way to install an older stock camera app from the previous Android systems? There wasn't such an incredibly dumb limit. I cannot install them, says "Application couldn't be installed", maybe something is wrong with the certificates.
Lmk.

Camera crashes on 120fps

LG default camera crashes when set on 120fps when I press the REC button it crashes to main screen with a BEEP.
I have the European version (D855 16gb memory 2 gb ram) bought it second hand with MyaROM v5.1 Lollipop and apparently no root access (I checked with Root Checker Basic).
Is the camera broken or could be the software?

Click to collapse
first try to clear the camera cache and data and reboot the phone after that , if that does not help check if there is not software update and if there is and that does not help try custom ROM and if the problem persists might be the camera.

Hulu stopped working correctly on ALL my Gen 1 rooted FireTVs

The app runs and can play shows, but the controls do not work properly. I cannot select the shows I want to watch. I cannot scroll down either unless I use a mouse. I'm still on the latest flashed firmware available for rooted Fire TVs. I can't upgrade without losing root. Has anyone else noticed this happening? Hulu is version 2.5a
Mine is doing the same thing... Basically can't scroll through the Hulu app (down or to the right?). If I push down it's definitely moving through the menus, but I cannot see what is highlighted. Just started a couple days ago.
I was on a previous version of Hulu so I updated it and rebooted, still wasn't working. Then I used Titanium Backup to clear data and rebooted, still not working.
Does appear to work with scrolling using a mouse like you mentioned.
On Rbox's latest rooted ROM (Android 4.2.2). I wonder if they just dropped support for this older ROM version.
Same thing here unfortunately.
Same thing here too
Option 1: Quick bypass the problem with a USB/Bluetooth Mouse or Mouse Toggle for Fire TV App or some other mouse app of your choice.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fluxii.android.mousetoggleforfiretv
Option 2: Get a hold of the prior FTV Hulu APK. There must be some folks here that block app updates on their FTV & can backup & post the prior version of Hulu for you guyz. Find out what version that would be & post the request in the FTV Apps section.
Either way, just patiently wait until TWRP, Boot Menu & PreRooted FireOS 5 ROM gets release in the next few weeks.
The USB mouse allows you to scroll down, but you still cannot select anything accurately. A workaround that I did was to get the 2.24.1 apk from my phone, sideload it, and operate it with a USB mouse. Of course, the quality is garbage and the remote is useless, but it kinda works. I can't get it to stream high quality video either.
Can you sideload the android TV version of Hulu?
Ludacrisvp: Yes. That's what I did , but you need a mouse to operate it and the quality is terrible.
Then you aren't using the android TV version of Hulu. That's the normal phone version.
After disabling the Amazon App Store I was able to install and run the android "Google TV" version of Hulu on my firetv it looks identical to the version that firetv uses.
I'm running version 1.3.0 of Hulu for android / Google TV on the firetv.
i can't get the android TV hulu plus app v1.3.0 to install. it says - install failed. looks like it requires lollipop at the minimum.
I assumed you had updated to a rooted version of fireOS 5
If we could do that, we wouldn't be having these problems.
I thought that like the fire stick there was a window of time where you could update and root with king root?
yes, but i think if you upgrade, your bootloader will be locked (even though you can get root).
Try this older version (2.1.a). Works perfect for me.
So far, this works!
I am having this problem too, has anyone found a solution yet?

How to replace stock phone/dialer with Google Phone app (rooted Lollipop)

Hi folks,
My D851 (T-mobile, unlocked bootloader, I've got TWRP and am running stock rooted lollipop) frequently crashes when I try to make or recieve a call. "Unfortunately Calls Has Stopped." It's been this way from day 1.
I haven't updated the software since I got / rooted the phone in October 2015.
Everything else works, so I don't want to nuke the phone and upgrade the OS. I just want to replace the dialer/phone app with the Google one. Given that I've got root and could flash stuff in TWRP if needed, can I do this, and if so, how? The play store doesn't show the google phone app for me, so I'd need to d/l it from a mirror, and figure out exactly which bits to remove and replace.
Any help appreciated.
Why not just install from playstore and make it the default and not use the stock one?

If you want the aosp one install an aosp ROM or cm or lineage ROM instead of stock, I don't think you can flash aosp into the root of a stock rom
I'm on rooted stock Lollipop at the moment. Not interested in a custom ROM at the moment. Lollipop makes it hard or sometimes impossible to replace the stock phone. Sure you can put a new dialer on but to really replace the phone app is a challenge in 5.0. Easy to do in Marshmallow though. The Google Phone app doesn't show for me in the play store. Been looking for a workaround.
I am considering updating the phone to MM just for this but it carries risks... Lots of stuff doesn't backup/restore cleanly and things like Helium are very tweaky on this phone... I don't trust the backup process much. I really don't want to lose my text message history or some pictures in there. If t he update goes poorly I will have to wipe and start over. Uggg.
Thanks.
Marc
To avoid this problem I eventually updated the phone to 30e Marshmallow. So far so good with the Marshmallow stock phone; if it gives trouble I will replace it with the Google phone app, although it STILL doesn't show in the play store. I imagine I can find it somewhere...

Youtube problem - android 4.1.2 stock

Hi.
I have gt-i8190n version, with latest stock rom 4.1.2 with root.
There is a problem i would like to have your help. It concerns with youtube app, after it updates to latest version for android 4.1.2 it opens and start working ok. but when i close the app and later on open again, it shows me a message saind that there it a newer version for youtube app, and to update. When i try to update, clicking the button, it opens google play store, but no updates are avaiable.
The only way i can work around is going to settings, clear app data, and it works again normally like the first time. But after the 1st use (closing and opening app), it cames back the message to update again.
Is there any way to overcome this permantly (not updating android, stock rom works very nice for daily use, comparing to alternate roms like lineaageos (tried CM 13.0 - android 6.0.1 during one or 2 months it has several random reboots and lagging... and no NFC).
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Same problem here on Galaxy Core GT-I8262 but after several reinstalls,YouTube shows network error, but when I open up the browser, I can surf the Internet.
late reply but turn off google services framework

Latest OTA Update to Pixel 3a killed the camera!

I accepted the latest OTA update for lineage. After the reboot my camera app shows a black screen for the main camera and crashes after a few seconds.
What I've tried:
Messing with the camera app, permissions etc.
Trying other camera apps, same problem.
Rebooting.
Since I wanted to see what grapheneOS was like I tried installing that.
Same problem....?
Okay so then I thought they might be sharing the same camera driver. So I installed...
The latest Google factory image.
Then I tried reverting to Android 11 (everything was 12 before)
Main camera is still dead. Selfie camera works.
