I accepted the latest OTA update for lineage. After the reboot my camera app shows a black screen for the main camera and crashes after a few seconds.
What I've tried:
Messing with the camera app, permissions etc.
Trying other camera apps, same problem.
Rebooting.
Since I wanted to see what grapheneOS was like I tried installing that.
Same problem....?
Okay so then I thought they might be sharing the same camera driver. So I installed...
The latest Google factory image.
Then I tried reverting to Android 11 (everything was 12 before)
Main camera is still dead. Selfie camera works.

So I used to be able to use the front facing camera no problem for video chats. There used to also be a button to swap back and forth from front to back cameras. Now the button is gone and I'm stuck on the back camera. Any suggestions? Reflash the Talk app?
What ROM are you running?
evodeck...but it fixed itself. No idea what the problem was after searching all day on the forums today. I was just about to reflash some different modded versions too.
I installed an APK for Gtalk 1.3 video on my stock rooted EVO 4G (android 2.3.3 build 4.24.651.1) and it caused the stock camera app to close when switching to front facing camera. I have tried everything from clearing data for camera app, clearing dalvik cache and reflashing gtalk video apk, restoring stock gtalk with Titanium backup, Full factory reset (still rooted), and finally flashing stock RUU 4.53.651.1 and then running RUU 4.54.651.1 .exe. Even after full RUU reset with no apps installed the camera app still closes upon attempting to switch to FFC. Could it be that somehow Gtalk 1.3 video actually killed the camera hardware? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi, I recently updated my camera using the system software update and since then the rear camera no longer focus's at all. I have tried wiping my phone and the camera still no longer focuses but it tells me a camera update is available (the same one as i installed before) and after updating the camera still does not work meaning it could not have been the update causing the problem.
I am unrooted on android 4.2.2.
If anyone can help that would be great! thanks:good:
I was curious about testing out CM 11, so I backed up CM 10.2 stable and updated, flashed the new gapps, etc. I didn't like CM 11, so I restored my backup. Now, whenever I try to take a picture with the front facing camera, the app (whether it be a third party, or the stock camera) crashes, and I have to restart my phone to be able to access the camera. The camera was fine just before updating. I have tried replacing the stock gallery app with a fresh apk, and clearing the cache. Is there anything short of a factory reset that will fix this issue? Is there some sort of data in the root directory that remained from the update to CM11?
I believe I fixed the issue by restoring an older backup, and my app data through Titanium.
Does anyone have this problem? Updated today to the new camera version and discovered the new playground option does not work, when launched it just sits there and does nothing. Quitting the app causes all subsequent launches of the camera app to display no images on screen through the lens just a big block of grey. Only a hardboot will restore the camera functions. I did an uninstall of all updates to go back to the November system version and the Arc Core function reacts the same way. Anybody have any similar experience?
Running the November security updates with stock kernel and only Magisk 17.3 applied.
I installed the new camera today - Playground works just fine. No issues at all. I am running a custom kernel - not sure if that matters - (Franken Kernel 5.1) and all is good.... sorry you are having issues - have you tried to clear cache/Data on camera APK to see if that helps?
Good Luck...
Tried all of that, even went so far as to do a complete factory reset and wipe to see if it would work on a completely stock system but still no go. Maybe I have a bad AR chip or something.
Reapply your animation serrings
If Google playground has stopped working, active your animation settings on your phone. This fixed it for me!!
:fingers-crossed:
I just updated my Asus Zenfone 5z to Android P (Indian update) today. However, after the update the Google Lens icon that used to show inside the default camera app of the device is no more to be seen. I tried clearing caches, data for both apps (camera & lens) but none helped. I even tried safe mode boot & then restarted the device but naah! Some end users are reporting that they still have the integration intact but a couple of them also report the contrary, on Asus ZenTalk forum. Any help? Is there a way out without factory reset?

Not in my case. I also updated to Android 9 and the Google lens still at camera app. I'm from Malaysia.
Try reinstalling Google Lens. I have upgraded to WW .175, but my integration still there.
What Asus PixelMaster version you guys have?
