Question Its possible to update for 64 bit? - Moto E (2020)

I learned that my phone was under a 64 bit prossessor but blocked in 32 bit. Is there a way to turn off 32-bit mode?
(I am comfortable with the possibility of rooting my phone or even putting a custom rom).

Is it possible Recover from a bad flash?

I was wondering, on the WM devices you can install HSPL to recover from bad flashes, since the rooting and flashing is done via androids sd storage. Is there any bad flash protection like with other phones on the htc desire / android? I would assume that if the flash is bad it would not be able to load the sd for you to reload?
There is a HardSPL equivalent already builtin in the desire. Thus, no matter how you fail at flashing, you can always at least boot into a recovery mode which lets you do a couple of things, including to reflash your internal memory. You can even talk directly to your phone via USB and adb, which let's you do a lot of debugging. I don't know how it would be possible to totally brick the device.
Everything is possible ;-)
Well beware of the partial-root available for the desire right now. A lot of users including me, have ''semi-bricked'' the desire. no usb working, no sd card, charging takes a while ...... all these due to damaged recovery image probably and for the moment ....No solution. so imho, if you need something from root or custom roms, just go ahead, but if you just want it just for fun, then better wait
You can get SD functionality back using the qxdm commands - it SHOULD just be USB/FM/BT that are broken (which still sucks, but at least SD should work).

could this work or am i absolutely mental?

a friend of mine wants me to rescue his netbook, but i need to create a bootable USB drive to re-install windows because he doesn't have an external disk drive.
i need 4gb minimum, but i've only got an actual 2gb flash drive.
thing is, i've got a 4gb microSD card in the desire.
if i backed up the entire contents of the card, and then stuck it in a USB card reader, essentially making it a 4gb USB stick, could i then put it back into the desire and restore the backup ?
would it cause any untoward problems ?
obviously i have no intentions of re-flashing or anything, but i just need to find a way of getting 4gb's of space for the installation.
cheers

I didn't see why it shouldn't work. It will work.
Cheers. Problem i've now got though is that I need a micro sd adapter which I don't have. So i'm kind of wondering if I could mount the phone as a usb device in clockwork mod and essentially make that the bootable usb device?
Obviously I would (I assume) need to keep the update.zip file on it so I could at least flash it back to recovery and restore everything.
Would that cause a problem? Or is the functionality of the phone not kept on the sd card?
That would work you could turn the phone on and mount it as usb storage.

Thankyou for that - that's exactly what I did and everything is installed and works fine. i found out the notebook is for work purposes as well, so he can probably claim back the cost of actually making it all legal as well, so it's all good.
I keep a bootable Ubuntu flash drive around just for certain occasions like this. Runs Ubuntu right off the flash disk and let's you do what you need to do if you're in a pinch. Of course, this won't install Windows, but for emergencies it can be a lifesaver. Imagine if you were overseas and your hard drive or Windows crashes and won't boot. It'd be indispensable.

Root tutorial for AT&T Galaxy SIII?

I don't have my laptop right now, I have it over at Toshiba getting my video card replaced (fried by Ubuntu ATI drivers). Need a way to root my GSIII by itself. Wondering if there was any stable 3rd party software to do it for me, or whatever. I just got a new HP class 4 16gb SD for this phone, and I want to use it to run a good Linux distro on here without partitioning my internal storage.
What's wrong with the sticky on rooting? Maybe you should hold off on rooting until you have a computer.

[Q]Micro SD Issues

Is there way to mount 64 gb microsd xc card on desire z? I bought it by impulse (64 gb kingston, recommended by ebay for 15 euros, so is worth it). But the phone wont recognize it. Actually, 4ext recovery is recognizing it. Can format, partition even writing restoring/backups. So obviously is a limitation by OS, not the device. For now i've putted the card in my old sony dsc-s600 camera (2006 model if i remember correctly) and it's working fine. I'm running guhl's 4.2.2 perm spoof rom

os loaded from ram in 4gb version

I wonder if it's possible to load the entire os in ram in 4gb version? Can it be done or is it still low? I tried a 4.4.2 mounted form a usb stick but display is laggy like when u you run windows with an nvidia card without its driver. but still feels faster than regular nand.
Theoretically, it's possible. I remember being curious and when I ran Ubuntu from my flash drive on my PC, the OS ran pretty well. The only trouble is the memory leak in Lollipop/RAM management the way it is now. You might be stable for a little bit, but once a few apps open and run in the background, Android might kill a few of the system apps that "don't need to run" and you start getting constant FC's or freezes.
