Im interested in buying this phone so while researching about features i noticed two things:
1.
On the official Xiaomi website it doesn't say that the phone have barometer and everywhere else it says it has;
2.
In some videos featuring the camera module it says that the forth empty camera slot is ToF 3D sensor
(I want to know is it only for show or maybe it has some other sensor?)
If someone can test if the phone have both of this features (or doesn't have) it will be greatly appreciated
Thanks and sorry if i wasted your time

As for #1 im not sure. Why would anyone need barometer sensor anyway... But it's possible that it has it
As for #2, it has some chip under that part, so it very well could be that sensor...
Thanks for the answer, upon further research including here i found that there is no barometer sensor, now if only could someone answer what is that sensor under the fourth "camera" hole.
(My dilemma is if should go for this phone or F2 pro)

It's not camera, its light sensor hole.

Anyone know if buying this would fix broken/non functional capacitive buttons on the captivate glide? Seems like a simple enough fix, i've honestly only worked on fixing computer my whole life and the occasional ps3 as well. cell phones are something I've never attempted so if anyone could lend a hand that'd be great. I'm sure tearing the phone apart i'd be able to figure out where it goes, i just need to know if that's the right part. would make my wife's day if she could use the buttons again! thanks in advance!

I can't comment if that piece will fix your phone or not, however in the meantime for a workaround::

that actually doesn't work on any of the newer stock ROMs that I've tested on. It was also less than helpful because it leaves a 2 pixel opening for pressing the shutter button on the camera. ha. i can get the nav bar enabled in cm10, but without camera my wife won't let me leave it installed. thanks though!

What is that small silver block for, and what do I use to reattach it? Solder?
Thanks!
ok, after more research (thanks to the repair manual which I've attached) I've figured out what this component is called, but still no idea what it is for. Looks like there are 2 of these, one on each side of the motherboard, so if it's not necessary I can live without it.
Component is called "Filter 0.0 Hz 0402", what is that for?
The manual also says to remove/mount using Hot Air, but this is territory I don't have experience with. Do I need some kind of glue/paste to spread before using a heat gun to remount it?
Err I think it's a microphone.
Ok, yeah, I have figured out it's a microphone, and it seems to be the primary one facing in (positioned in the spot where your mouth would be when you talk on the phone), with the secondary facing out for when recording video...
Which brings up the question, how do I mount it? I'm being told that the for "pegs" of the microphone need to remain separately attached to the MB, so some glue wouldn't work since that would make it one big connection like a heatsink. Any ideas?
I recently upgraded to M8 from old One S and missing "Flip for Speaker" feature a lot. If somebody doesn't know that was a feature in many HTC phones earlier that would turn on speakerphone during call if you flip your phone screen down on the table. Helps a lot during those wait times etc. There is no such thing on M8 and I'm missing it a lot. I thought first that may be they removed it due to the front speakers, but I tested speaker and microphone face down and see absolutely no issue. I tried a separate "UpSoundDown" app, but it doesn't work very well.
Can somebody tell me is there a ROM that has the feature that I'm looking for? Is there a Kernel that can enable it? Where to look for this and where to request it if feature wasn't implemented?

No any input on this?
If anyone interested the best solution I found so far is Auto Speaker app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hanan.android.ramkol&hl=en
It works pretty good , but still I would much prefer "Flip for Speaker" option, because of lower power consumption during those waiting times and due to the way Auto Speaker switch works.
Does anyone know xposed module with such functionality? Where would be a good place to put a rom/xposed request like this?

Bought this 3-in-1 from eBay and it works fine with my friend's ZL and my Z1 Compact. The lens simply clips on to the phone and you can position it to sit right over the phone's lens. The wide lens and fish-eye lens are kind of crappy (blurry images and round haze). The macro lens has a round haze as well, but focus is really good in the centre when you get very close to an object.

Hi, I received my new Xiaomi 12X today and noticed that the LED flash on the camera works only upper side as you can see in the photo. It is normal? Shouldn't both LEDs be lit? Maybe someone can check on its 12X does it work in the same way?

Almost became blind while checking it here, but mine seems to use both of them, the lower one seems weaker. Tested with the camera flash and with flashlight on too.
As far as I know, most dual flash setups comes with a white led and a yellow one, so you can get a smoother white balance in your pics. Maybe the camera AI choose how much of each one is used depending on the light of the environment you're taking pictures, just a guess.
When looking with the naked eye, it is difficult to distinguish whether both LEDs are lit. Try cover the flash with a piece of paper and try again. Or zoom in with other phone camera.
Yup, seems that only the top one is on, like yours! (my old Redmi struggled a little to take this picture)
I found a Xiaomi 12 disassembly video and there is only one LED! There is a some kind of sensor next to it.
So everything works as it should, thanks for your time
