Hi all,
I have been using ARHD ROM for a while now, version 5 for a few weeks and noticed the issue on there first and it still occurs after updating to 6.1 over the w/e. I was not aware of the issue before I went to ARHD but was not using/rebooting stock often enough to find out.
I don't think this is ROM related but am not really sure how to go about working out exactly what is causing it.
Normal working is excellent and battery drain is very low - seems to be about 2mA when idle with no WiFi or Data connections.
After a random amount of time - could be 3/4 days or less than 1 day the battery drain increases noticeably. For me it means that after an average days use the battery would be down to 20% or less rather than 40-50%.
I downloaded "better battery stats" to try and identify if possible what was causing it and it seems to be that the "LocationManagerService" is getting stuck with a "Partial Wake Lock". This prevents the phone from going into "Deep Sleep" so I can see on CPU Spy that the 51Mhz time starts increasing considerably and the Deep Sleep stops increasing completely.
A reboot solves the problem for another random amount of time.
After reboot under normal operation the "LocationManagerService" does not seem to register at all for several hours and when it does operate normally it stays towards the bottom of the "better battery stats" list with about 1s of use, even after a couple of days. When it gets stuck in partial wakelock it moves to the top of the list and refreshing shows constant updates indicating that it is maintaining a partial wakelock.
I have tried searching on Google but cannot see any mention of anyone experiencing a similar problem and as I am sure many applications use the "LocationManagerService" I am at a loss as to how I try and work out whether this is a bug in the service or an application that is causing it.
Apart from rebooting every time I notice this I am not sure how to troubleshoot any further, so was hoping one of you knowledgable guys/devs could perhaps make some suggestions as to how I can identify exactly what is causing this?
I would also be interested to find out if anyone else on any other ROM can see the same issue?
Thanks
Hi,
I think i have a battery drain problem with my G Pad since the last firmware update (V50020d).
In 10 hours standby I loose round about 5% battery power. (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS turned off)
Before the update there was nearly no standby power consumption, maybe 1% over night.
I tried to solve the problem with a factory reset, but the problem still persists.
I havent rooted the device, so I can only use the PC Version from wakelock detector here from xda.
Maybe this screenshots could help:

I hope you could help me solving this problem.

Have you tried Greenify? its useful.
Sence you're rooted, also try some xposed module like xblast tools which modifies the biuld prop, or Greenify with xposed...
Hi thanks for your answer.
I have not rooted my device.

Yes I tried Greenify but it does not help.

Try taking our your sdcard and see if the high battery drain overnight goes away. Some folks have noticed that the sdcard is now remounting several times a night and this causes the media server to scan the card over and over again all night resulting in battery drain. If the problem goes away with the removal of the sdcard you at least know what is causing it. Then you can join us in the thread where we are trying to track down what causes the sdcard bad removals....
Ok check your battery status and see if some google services is working in the background and uses some battery

Hi,
@muiriddin
I tried this last night, but the problem is not fixed.
Seems like the micro SD card is not the problem.
But thanks for your advice.
@Jhon998
When i look in the battery statistics it just said 21% Tablet idle.

For how long it eats 21%?
The tablet uses 21% battery in round about 2,5 days standby.
I still could not solve the problem, so I rooted my G Pad with ioroot.
BetterBatteryStats sayed the problem is com.google.android.gms.
See attached screenshots for more information.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
Sorry that I do not have anything to offer by ways of an answer, but in what I feel may be a relevant addition to the topic, I've found that my VK810 actually *loses* battery even while it's charging and in use. With the charger hooked up, I can see the percentage dropping steadily even during light tasks such as web browsing, albeit at a slower rate than when it's unplugged.
See this how i left it all night...
Hi,
I recently installed the teamwin custom kernel and the AOSP Android 5.1 Lollipop from adrianom but I'm now having overheating issues even if I'm just browsing. The top of the tablet becomes painfully hot and eventually the whole thing shuts down.
I've updated to the latest version of the kernel and custom rom, installed a CPU usage and temperature app but the problem has continued. CPU usage doesn't appear to be too heavy but the temperature quickly reaches 70c.
Does anyone have any ideas or experiences on resolving this?
Hello,
Sometimes my battery dies overnight, finally I managed to find the issue which prevents my device goes to deepsleep. Screenshot is attached, I need help to fix this issue.
Thanks

Anyone knows what this qcom_rx_wakelock is?
Im currently on CB8 clean flashed it.
Battery drain too high due to this particular wakelock.
Anyone knows how to get rid of it?
It's a wakelock that often happens when you are connected to a large secured network like a university or company. The network itself is waking your phone up and keeping it in an active state even when you are not using your phone. I'm in the same situation as you on 3.2.8 and I have heard that the only way to stop it is by flashing elementalx which apparently is capable of blocking the wakelock. I think there are probably some fixes that whoever controls the internet network in your building could make but I have no clue how to go about that.
I made a post recently about this here but there isn't anything too helpful in it
