If you mean secure folder, then check this information:
What is the Secure Folder and how do I use it?
Find out how you can set up and use the Secure Folder on your Samsung Galaxy device
www.samsung.com
It needs some modifications to the system in order to work, or it could be implemented into the rom

Hi folks,
I've rooted the stock lollipop ROM on my M8, how do I delete the stock apps? They seem to come back after rebooting.
That's because system write protection enabled.
You have these options :
1. install a custom kernel like elementalx which has system write protection disabled.
or.
2. install TWRP recovery .. in recovery mount system then go advance - file manager - browse to which file that you want to delete and delete it.
... Or make your phone S-OFF and get rid of all of them.

I would, but Sunshine is an expense I can do without at the moment. Unless there's another way?

Far too many options to play with, I left most of them alone
Hi,
As you probably know we can't acces to the hidden menu "EngineerMode" to increase the speaker volume... until now
I succefully modified the app to work on rooted XA :good:
I will not explain how to use this dangerous menu, you can find many guides for that.
How to install:
- Download the attached zip, copy the 3 folders to "/system/app" and reboot.
- On the phone dialer enter *#*#3646633#*#*, the menu will appear.
- Don't forget to make backups of your partitions before playing with this !
Some features are greyed because of missing apps, I don't know if it's usefull to try to add them ?

Yes you right, just tested on the last firmware and no changes in volume level. On my previous tests I'm sure it worked but on what firmware version and as said before when worked my rom was heavily modified. Maybe it need something more to work, I will try to find why.

Hey,
I've copied all 3 folders as you said but I still can't access the egineer menu to deactivate some LTE bands.
How have you managed to get into the Engineer Menu? Is there a trick or something?

Hi,
This thread was created on december 2016, you have to downgrade your phone to a Marshmallow firmware older than that.
I don't remember if it works on later M firmware but I'm sure that will not works on Nougat.

Thanks for the answer despite the old thread.
Is there no way to access it in the Nougat firmware? What a bullsh*t Sony did with that then.
To downgrade the phone I would need to get the MM Firmware from anywhere. Do you have any link for it? Would reformatting and flashing it through TWRP be enough to get it to boot?

There is probably a way to acces it with Nougat but you have to find updated MTK apps.
To downgrade you have to download the firmware with Xperifirm inclued in Flashtool. Be careful with Flashtool, read/watch guides on how to flash firmware to avoid hard brick.

Did you find the system folder where an 'app' file is meant to be in and then placed them in there? If so then type in the code that was given in the original thread and the menu will appear
QUESTION: how did you find the 'system' folder where the 'app' folder is? Please help

Secure folder, samsung health and other are not working because root.
I rooted my phone following a guide and everything works just fine.
I wanted to use secure folder again so I applied the smali patch to allow for me to bypass the samsung know trip,
but everytime i open the secure folder it says it cant create it.
Am i doing something wrong?
You can't use secure folder once you knox counter has been tripped
Until TWRP is available for this device, root must be done by flashing patched boot image via fastboot. I'm still in the waiting period for the bootloader unlocking, but I prepared files in the meantime. Maybe someone will find them useful. Attached are stock boot and patched image with Magisk 21.1, EEA ROM version. Just unzip them and flash from fastboot.
Full version: V12.0.6.0.QJSEUXM_20201117
Edit: patched boot image reuploaded, the previous one didn't work (at least on my phone). This one has been tested and is working fine.
hello,
having the EEA version 12.0.6.0, as a boot patch can I immediately give the modded boot, in fastboot?

You can flash patched boot image directly, or just hotboot it (fastboot boot patched_image.img) and install Magisk from Magisk manager.
hello,
I did and at the moment everything is ok.
thanks
but there is a strange thing, Mixplorer, it does not change the permissions of the files, yet it has root permissions
I think the root is not perfect, I can't change the permissions of the files

Which files on which partition with what kind of permissions? RO partitions must be remounted as RW, but it's not always possible and using Magisk is usually a better and safer approach.
hello
let's talk about system partition files how can I remount as RO?
using Mixplorer, if I click comeback as RO, it tells me failed

I keep my system partition RO so I can apply OTA updates, so I haven't tried it. You could try another app (for example Total commander), but you will be probably out of luck because of Android 10 limitation. Read more detailed explanation here https://android.stackexchange.com/q...m-partition-locked-to-read-only-in-android-10
I would suggest using Magisk module for system modifications.
hi
i tried other app manager like root explorer and es explorer, but the result is the same. i also installed magiskhideprops module, but my phone is not supported as fingerprint yet
What are you trying to achieve?
the terminal command to try to mount as RO would you know?

Why don't you do it with a Magisk module? Once you install a module, you can edit it directly in /data/adb/modules folder.
i read android 10 problem, would you recommend me to mount with termux, installing vim?

If you know how to edit system mixer files, you should be able to build your own module (or adapt one of the existing ones). But of course it's up to you, I'm just offering a well known and working solution to your problem.
