I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR THE WORK. I ONLY TRANSLATED THE SCRIPTS TO ENGLISH .
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK OR BREAK YOUR FUJITSU.
I have managed to find a bat file which will allow you to root your F-02E japanese phone.
I have also found a script to allow system R/W made by kikuhare
Steps Involved:
Make sure your phone has 100% charge.
Download the Root + System Mount
Extract the zip's to different folders.
Enable USB debugging under Menu > Settings > Developer Options.
Point to the folder where you extracted drivers from "usb_driver_F-02E_1.0.zip". Wait for drivers to install.
Make sure the phone is connected as PTP not MTP.
CMD into the folder "f-02e_oneclick_su_installer". It is inside the "Root + System Mount_1" files folder.
Run the runme.bat.
Download "Root Checker by joeykrim" from the Play Store.
Run the "Root Checker" app
Wait for the process to finish.
UPDATE System R/W
Connect phone to computer
Download the System Read Write Mounter_1.zip <<<<<< Only need to download if you did not download the "Root + System Mount_1.zip" file.
CMD into the "F-02E_system-mounter" It is inside the "Root + System Mount_1" files folder.
Extract the file and run the"START.bat"
Run everytime the system restarts to mount system as R/W.
Enjoy root .
NOTE: This method does not give full root permissions. You will still be able to underclock the CPU to some degree and use the CoreControl app to disable cores. I will have to run start.bat inside F-02E_system-mounter folder everytime the phone restarts to get system R/W
Drivers: usb_driver_F-02E_1.0.zip
Root Includes System Mount: Root + System Mount_1.zip
System R/W Mounter: System Read Write Mounter_1.zip

No, not enough developers and interest for the phone outside Japan. I doubt anyone will be willing to put in effort as well

Only Docomo and Fujistu apps are in Japanese. Everything else is in English.
Thats fine i suppose with root explorer i can delete those apps by deleting the apk in system app? Also if you have xposed app settings you can change the language per app would that also work?

I have just frozen them, just incase if the phone needs the at somepoint. Xposed framework doesnt work as it need system R/W and the root method has not allowed system R/W mainly because the phone bootloader not unlocked. Secondly make sure you do not uninstall/disable the Phonebook and Phonebook Service provided by Docomo. Its key to allowing you to add and sync contacts.
So Xposed wont work at all then, thats a shame what about lucky patcher, does that need R/W?
Sent from my Xperia T
Improved the .bat file. Now you will have system R/W
Download the root file again and run it. Follow the steps starting at 10 if you have already rooted. :good:
Thanks

anyone else besides the OP got their f02 rooted with this?
I may not be able to help any further. I have boot looped my phone. I cannot get it past the NTT Docomo screen. I think I know what is causing it but I cannot get the phone connected to the PC. I may need to send it into Fujitsu.
Good luck on fixing it

I have not been able to overcome the issue. It is a design issue. Because it is waterproof phone the heat cannot disperse.
The only thing I have been able to do is keep the CPU frequency down to lower the time it takes for the phone to heat up.

that should not be ... is that the international version of B107?
try to make factory default, think that should work or try to reflash the B107 ...

Have disappeared because they match the folder path CUST.
First you must be ROOT
Second with Root Explorer app, go to the folder "data" and see the contents of custom.bin
Depending on the file custom.bin say, is as it should rename folders CUST.
For example if it says "Orange/dm", that means that inside the folder "CUST" the folder must exist "Orange" and within it another folder "dm".
If not there you can rename the folder "Channel" to "Orange" and within it you choose to rename the folder to "dm" much of the country that depends on where you live, could be renamed folder "namerica" to "dm" or "neeurope" to "dm"
Finally do a factory reset
Best Regards

Of course, if it works, I've tried several times and if it works.
Maybe I did not understand the procedure.
I'll try to explain it better:
1. You must be ROOT
2. Having installed the app Root Explorer
3. Log in to Root Explorer and find the file custom.bin
4. You must remember the contents of this file.
5. Go to the root folder, using the Root Explorer
6. Go to the folder Cust
7. Rename the folders according to the content of step 3.
8. Perform Factory Reset
At no time should change the file contents custom.bin.
Best Regards
succed the process, but bring more painful problem.

What ever you want
Hi,
I am going to unlock my Arc S BL. I read many here, but need some clarifications:
My goal is to have XUHD 5.0.1 with suggested kernel (Lupus). Right now I have XUHD 3 (with mod), phone is rooted (I did it somehow:laugh. It got slow and buggy after a while, so I need to refresh it totally.
THE PLAN:
1. Unlock BL using SE Bootloader Unlocking v1.6 by quangnhut123 (seems easier for a newbie than "sony" way, not mentioning the test point one).
2. Using the same tool flash LuPuS Kernel Stock.
Now to be confirmed: All I have to do is to enter IMEI and select file LuPuS_anzu_Stock-iCsv16-full.img. Done?
What would I get after that? Shell I turn on the phone as usual (and it is supposed to run as normal, maybe fresh)?
Should I remove my SD card while doing steps 1-2? Is the contentt of the SD card erased after the process?
Gaps - totally new to me - should I do something with them?
3. Flash the ROM. Well I did it earlies and it worked, so I believe when I will get confirmatoion of above I might succeed.
To be confirmed: to "make phone as new" - what pratition should I wipe? I am going to backup everything possible earlier.
I would like to add my own ringtone. How to do that? (I was told it can be done after installing ROM - via CWM - need suggestions...)
Do I miss something? Do I have to check anything before I start (dont want to finish with not working device...)
Any help would be VERY appreciated.
big thanks in advance.

That is the "sony" way but all the process is done with this app. You lose same features as with the "sony" way.

You get unlocked bootloader, custom kernel installed. When you have installed the custom kernel, enter Recovery (press Volume Down button many times during kernel boot logo), wipe the necessary partitions (depends on the ROM) and install new ROM.

Not necessary. No SD Data is touched during this process. Unlocking bootloader though does remove all data from your phone inside (not SD), so make backups if necessary.

Gapps stand for Google Apps. They are only required, if you install non-stock based ROM (CyanogenMod aka CM or any other).

For most ROMs, you need to wipe /data, /cache and /system. Non-stock based may require you to not wipe /system.

If it is on your SD card, your phone can find it. Alternatively, you can put it to /system/media/audio/ringtones folder with any file explorer, that can edit system directory (I personally use ES File Explorer).

The reason to put it to device memory instead of card one it that when phone is connected to PC in mass storage mode it switches the default ringtone (phone does not have acces to the card)
Well, I did try copy to devuce filesystem, but I get Read Only file system warning, no files copied. I used ES with root permission. I was told it can be done by flashing, but dont know how to do that..

I backed up all I needed. I started SE Bootloader Unlockin Tool, but after I enter my IMEI and hit Get Unlock Code the text-area where the code should appear chnaged color to light-gray only, and nothing more.
I am running win764 if matters...
Should I proceed as told? (hit unlock BL even if Unlock code is not displayed?
I sould I get the code via http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/, paste it and than proceed?

Well if you mean like accessing and editing system files I'm not how to do edit them but I know that you can use a app like root explore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.explorer that's the free version the paid one is $3.99 in the US. With that you can move and add files to system folder you can edit permission of files and things of that nature.

Well system file is where all the data and software is at basically everything visible on the phone. Maybe this article could help it deals with modifying samsung rom and flashing it. If you want to read more on it here's the link: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/85703/modifying-samsung-rom-and-flashing-it-on-a-device if you wanted to remove apps or add custom apps to your phone you would modify system file.
But what I thought was important was this;
(I did not write this thread)
< "You should be able to use an archive program on PC and recompress to .tar, .gz, and others. Dont forget to re-sign the archive. Keep a copy of your untouched ROM until you have the modified ROM tested and running.
The ROMs are signed with a signature. When repacking if they don't get signed they will fail in flashing. This link will help explain it.
So basically after downloading the firmware you have to rename it so you can extract the files, change them as you need, recompress them again and re-sign them, so you can flash them using Odin." >
This thread was dealing with modifying CM rom;
< "There are multiple solutions available:
Re-Zip the Image
Advantage: You do it once, and can use the resulting image for multiple devices. That's what I did with CM7.2 for my Milestone 2. Easy enough to do:
create a temporary (empty) folder
unzip the zip file to it
remove unwanted *.apk files from /system/apps (be careful of what you remove, of course)
zip up the directory contents again
Using a graphical ZIP manager (like WinZip or the like), steps would be even easier:
open the zip file with the archive manager
remove the unwanted .apk files
if the ZIP manager requires it, save the manipulated zip
Manually cleanup after flashing, using the shell
This is what ce4 recommended in the comments. It requires you using a terminal emulator on your device:
Flash the image as-is
remove superfluous stuff from the system partition by hand (like rm /system/big/junk/example.mp4)
Manually cleanup after flashing, using other tools
Almost the same as the previous method, but a bit more user-friendly. Disadvantage: this won't do for superflous ringtones and the like:
Flash the image as-is
Use a tool like Titanium Backup or Root Uninstaller to remove unwanted system apps" >
Edit: this link explains the signature of the file: (from google) https://code.google.com/archive/p/zip-signer/

Ok so I may have found a solution for you it requires a pc and to download a program. You'll need your rom and any apps you would like to insert into it. The program is as simple as right click and delete for any apps you want to remove. The program is made by a developer on XDA named "_Logie" here's the link to the Web page: http://m.tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/how-to-add-or-remove-apps-from-a-custom-rom-101986.html and the link to the program is on there or here's the direct link: http://www.solidfiles.com/d/da2dd6335d/
This program compiles the ROM into a .zip if you have TWRP recovery you could do a backup of your previous rom before flashing your current one because you'll have to completely wipe every main partition before flashing new rom to ensure you don't run into problems
Edit: backup system, data, and cache because those are the ones you'll need to wipe also before wiping them just in case I would remove any password that locks your phone because if you try to flash a new rom and fails and your left with the recovery file it'll mess up the password, fingerprints will be forget and backup password will be unchangeable and will require a factory reset to be able to change it.

Hmmmmm ? I think you want to change the boot animation (white Verizon logo red background? ) if so your gonna need to either need to flash a pre-made zip with Flashfire (can't seem to get it to apply from twrp) or your gonna need to manually copy into the appropriate directory (mount system directory r/w copy then change permissions of the file you copied to 644 and reboot) presumably with a root explorer though doable from terminal

Try flashing with flasfire enabling the option mount system r/w and use common paths (probably not necessary but won't hurt) I have had difficulty getting anything other than ROM and gapps to apply from twrp but flashfire seems to work . I'm thinking its due to the fact that flashfire flashes after boot loader and then resets prior to os load.
IF YOUR BOOTLOADER IS NOT ALREADY UNLOCKED, THIS GUIDE IS NOT FOR YOU.
READ EVERYTHING AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE PROCEEDING!
THIS GUIDE WORKED GREAT FOR AT LEAST 3 PERSONS, THIS DOESN'T MEAN IT WILL WORK ON YOUR PHONE.
This guide exist in case the ULM Q never released
This guide should do the following :
relocalize to your country (I'm only providing the files for canada, usa and eu)
Root and TWRP (useful if any custom roms get released)
debloating
volte/vowifi/vilte/viwifi
Very Good battery (see screenshots down below)
mute shutter camera
4k 60fps video recording (?some people said it wasn't available on the korean Q?)
wifi tethering
and more
WHAT'S NOT WORKING FOR ME :
lg smartworld : meaning no lg app update.. which can lead to the next problem
Drag down for search : working only if you do not update the google app
What you need:
1 to 2hrs of free time
Working QFIL with minimal knowledge
Working Fastboot on your pc (See spoilers)
I did NOT manage to make fastboot work on my amd ryzen pc (3600)
here's what I tried :
- multiple fastboot drivers
(fastboot was kinda working.. now it just never load any driver)
- plugged in a usb 3.0 hub
- FWUL : https://forum.xda-developers.com/an.../live-iso-adb-fastboot-driver-issues-t3526755
(the latest version as of 2020-11-25 couldn't even boot on this pc...)
- ubuntu
(crashed the phone to a gray screen)
- all my usb ports : 2, 3 and 3.1 What I didn't try but could work for you:
- plugged in a usb 2.0 hub
- linux mint?
Soo... what did I do? I went back to my good ol' intel pc running windows 10 worked like a charm.

Also, this guide assume you had working volte/vowifi on your phone at some point...
Because, you will need the carrier folder from the /oem/op/ folder.. should look like this : open_us, vrz_us, open_ca..
Or you will need to retrieve it from your working firmware...
I'll be providing :
- Android 10 - G7 - OPEN_CA (Canadian operator folder) (What I'm using on my phone right now)
- Android 9 - V35 - OPEN_US (ULM/GFi) (Confirmed working by @cmrntnnr)
- Android 10 - G7 - OPEN_EU (untested) (thanks @vlad48)
!!!!!! Before crossflashing to the korean kdz !!!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crossflashing can break stuff sometime.. it is advised to do a full backup of your phone using https://github.com/bkerler/edl
if you're feeling lucky and do not want to do a full backup... you should still use qfil to atleast backup the following VITAL partitions : Fsg, modem, modemst1&2, ftm
STORE THOSE FILES PRECIOUSLY
------------------------------------------------------------------------
File you need to download :
To your phone SDCARD :
OPEN_CA or OPEN_US or OPEN_EU (untested) (Decompress this file, delete the zip)
OPEN_CA is too big, I had to delete apks that weren't from my carrier. (Bell)
(open_ca/apps/ -> kept only bell apks)
debloated-priv-app-RENAME-ME.zip (Decompress this file, delete the zip)
debloated-app-RENAME-ME.zip (Decompress this file, delete the zip)
twrp-installer-v3.3.1-v35_a.zip
Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_11.02.2020.zip
Magisk
(OPEN_EU only) : voenabler-v1.8.zip
To your pc:
vbmeta.img
30b_boot_magisk.img
30b_abl.bin (shouldn't be needed, but provided as backup)
Korean Q 30b (I went with LGU_KR since the other one weren't available back then)
The V35 engineering abl you got from here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v35/development/bootloader-unlock-root-instruction-t4052145
This file was renamed to engabl.bin in this guide
You need to use SOLID EXPLORER, not esfile or any other since I can not guaranteed it will apply the correct permission to the files and folder.
LGUP > Flash V350N30b_00_LGU_KR_OP_1015.KDZ using partition DL, select everything except FTM
Let the phone boot for the first time and reach setup screen
LGUP > refurbish phone using the kdz (this should fix potential nt error when booting the phone, it did for me)
Let the phone boot for the first time and setup the phone quickly so you can install app. (no lock or fingerprint)
Patching vbmeta to edit the operator/carrier information & patching boot for magisk/root
QFIL > partition manager > abl_a > read, store that file and name it : needed_abl.bin
How to retrieve the file: WIN+R , %AppData%/Qualcomm/QFIL , enter, pick right folder, save and rename bin file
QFIL > partition manager > abl_a > load > engabl.bin (for fastboot)
QFIL > partition manager > abl_b > load > engabl.bin (for fastboot) (Optional)
This is useful in case you need fastboot in the future, simply boot twrp then change slot from a to b and reboot.
To switch back from fastboot : fastboot --set-active=a
reboot the phone using vol- + power
command :
Code:
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta_a vbmeta.img
fastboot oem edl
QFIL > partition manager > abl_a > load > needed_abl.bin
QFIL > partition manager > boot_a > load > boot_magisk.img
reboot by holding vol- + power

magisk > modules > install from storage > twrp-installer-v3.3.1-v35_a.zip
SOLID EXPLORER > copy the carrier folder to the oem/op/ partition ('OPEN_CA' in my case)
SOLID EXPLORER > edit oem/op/cust_path_mapping.cfg and replace LGU_KR with OPEN_US ('OPEN_CA' in my case)
If you're still getting nt error at boot, you'll have to fix it in order to make the phone load open_us..
try adding a second line like this :
FFFFFF,84=/oem/OP/OPEN_US
If this doesnt do it, you'll have to share your nt error in the comment.

SOLID EXPLORER > Rename the folder /oem/op/LGU_KR to LGU_KRori (this will make your phone lag/glitch/freeze real quick.. proceed with the next step ASAP)
Quickly go in magisk and use the reboot menu to get to twrp. (reboot to recovery)
Format data
Reboot to TWRP/recovery
Flash Magisk-v21.1.zip, if it doesn't flash, reboot using the reboot menu to TWRP/recovery again until it works. (no red text)
Flash Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_11.02.2020.zip
Reboot to system
if the vowifi toggle is not working for you
For OPEN_CA/OPEN_US :
SOLID EXPLORER > move debloated-priv-app-RENAME-ME to /oem/op/priv-app/
SOLID EXPLORER > Rename the new folder to OPEN_US or OPEN_CA
Reboot

FOR OPEN_EU : (these steps are from the v40 community telegram, Quote from Lucky)
magisk > modules > install from storage > voenabler-v1.8.zip
If you transplant the KR OP with OPEN_EU, and are based in EU, this module should add the props that enables the VoLTE and VoWifi options.
Only if this fails, do you need to tinker with the xml files.

Optional.

change the sign on the following lines (from - to + and + to -)
-com.lge.fmradio:/system/product/priv-app/LGFmRadio
-com.android.mms:/system/product/priv-app/LGMessage
-/system/app/SmartMessagingEngine
+com.google.android.apps.messaging:/system/app/Messages
Example
-/system/app/SmartMessagingEngine
to
+/system/app/SmartMessagingEngine

Do not forget to enable developer option and adb AND
Plug you phone in computer, open adb shell and type su

It is useful to have a root shell in case the phone is stuck while booting (not boot looping)
you can also just reboot to twrp and undo your modification from there.

No prob!
Added OPEN_EU files, but they are untested.. no clue if everything will work... Some people in the v40 community got it to work
Good luck everyone
I've completed all the steps (except for lg weather) and I didn't notice anything different in call features until I saw the description of the international roaming setting referenced "outside of US PR etc." instead of "outside of foreign territory or whatever" which indicates a success.
Then I Applied the vomaster.zip from somewhere else (prob the same thing as the OP's not sure) and flipped on wificalling on the settings and got the setup prompt for wificalling from my carrier and later a "wifi setup's been completed" notification, so I guess things are finally good again. Unfortunately RCS doesn't seem to want to cooperate either way =\
Not sure why I did it because korean q on its own was usable, but I did it it anyway and it is nice, performance feels better too but this could be because I went from LG firmware to open_us. Both the incoming and outgoing calls and texts feel much snappier as well and doesn't take 5 seconds to go anywhere. Also it doesn't ask me whether I want to listen to the call recording or not at the end of every phonecalls so that's nice. thank you
-edit
one question, is there any way I can use the korean AOD's? I liked the one that shows calendar and time.

odd! you really shouldn't have to flash that vomaster.zip at all if you're located in the US.. honestly.. I don't even know if rcs is available in canada and I'm really not sure how to test this feature.. That file is a zip file with two different files in it, do you mean to rename this zip file to engabl.bin?
After step 5 I started to get some weird outputs.
fastboot.exe oem edl
FAILED (Status read failed (Too many links))
fastboot: error: Command failed

Seems like that output is normal because I have the rom rooted and twrped right now but I did have to change the active slot to B at this point because otherwise QFIL wasn't able to read the partitions afterwards. Oddly enough that was the only change I had to make, every other command worked as is referencing abl_a even though I changed the active slot to B (and when I flipped the steps to target slot B instead I just got bootlooped).
Everything's looking good so far. I had not been able to setup twrp on this phone so that's welcome. Hotspot wasn't working on Oreo either so that's another good improvement at least for me. Hopefully, this update ends up being a little bit more stable than Pie.

that's somewhat ambiguous, I ended up putting the abl_a in the a slot and the abl_b in the b slot. Not sure if they're interchangeable or if that's the reason why I experienced the issue I experienced. Shouldn't be but who knows.
I'm noticing that locking the screen takes a while using double tap. At least a second or more before the phone responds and actually locks the screen, is anyone else experiencing this?

Apparently it was due to my launcher, they're having some issues with that gesture on Android 10.
The Korean Q is solid, I'm surprised that it's performing better than Pie on this phone. Thanks for doing this guide. Anyways, I still get the camera shutter sound any idea as to why? Also, is there a way to disable the vibration for the fingerprint reader when the read is successful? I managed to do it for Oreo but haven't found a way to do it for Q
