Ok so I really love the MIUI ROM but I don't wanna run it with the SBC kernel it comes with. Anybody have any non-SBC kernels that they'd reccommend using?

I personally use the zen .5 sbc kernel...i would recommend using the savage 1.6-cfs-wimax kernel witch gets pretty good battery life and nice performance.

I'll have to upload it when I get home, currently at school.
with all the new gingersense stuff coming out is anyone working on a kernal that is OC's cause the kingdom rom kinda needs it
I'm sure people are working on it... as always when something comes out, the devs here grab it and do what they want with it.. seems like a pretty rhetorical question..

sense 3.0 is very nice. just a little slow for me. id really just like the lockscreen from 3.0 on a 2.0 rom

i totally agree but i have noticed even a little OC on some roms makes a ton of difference on their performance
You need source code to compile a custom kernel.

HTC will release source after gingersense becomes an OTA, but its up to them when they want to post it really.

Just be grateful you even have a gingersense 3.0 port to play with. Download Juice Defender if you're really that worried.
I don't think 3.0 needs overclock works fine for me very snappy if u have the patience to let it fully load

I'm not sure what a KERNAL is. Sounds similar to a kernel Kidding . But kernels will be released over time. You don't necessarily need the source for a kernel, because you can look back to the OG Droid's FroYo leaks had hacked together kernels without any source and it was being overclocked.

It's probably possible to overclock with a module, like what the Droid X/2 are using. I'm no kernel hacker though, just a lowly porter
There is a tradeoff, however. If you want OC, the battery life will suffer even more than stock.
Best bet is to use SetCPU to set some profiles.

What's the great advantage to it on a Desire?
litle bit faster
Better taskbar
Better memory and battery managment
Beter energy policy
gingerbread
newer system
more newer apps that support only 2.3
In other words : must .... have .... gingerBREAD!
)
id really like if it improved batter life on my desire.. i dont know why manufacturers are clamouring for faster phones with higher specs.. just give me my htc desire with a batter life of 5 days.. and id be happy.. .

But right - radios and the display is drinking most of the juice
For me its more about a sense update than gingerbread. Only if we don't get sense 2.1 with the official rom, it'll be about having official gingerbread so we can get some custom roms based on that with sense 2.1 or 3.0.
Gtfo with sense porting. I don't care what sense it is, I use LPP anyway. Bring me whatever it is as long as it is built for Desire.

Hmm... Good idea, but the camera would (maybe) still don't work, no drivers. And the second thing: Why we don't got full Sense 4.0, Sense 3.0 and Sense 3.5 wasn't so laggy.

But! Sense 3.x (excluding 3.6 of course) are laggy without some modifications like overclocking to 1.1GHz+, supercharger, and swap...
So to conclude, we need sense 4.0 and camera working because ICS is incredibly faster than GB...

Sense 3.X are NOT fine. Maybe Sense 3.6 is fine, but not the rest. In second point, I mean that Sense 4.0 is much better than Sense 4.0A, it just needs some rescaling.

So far so good!
Battery backup : AMAZING! compared to masik 1.4 and revolution os my latest masik, revolution rom i tried.
Camera : quality is good and you can install G. Cam works perfectly with front cam in low light
Over all performance : it's snappy, fast and not laggy at all compared to masik 1.4 and revolution it's SO FAST LOL.
Sound : it's like MIUI original rom, still has low sound bug on soundcloud.
