[Q] ANDROID Experts.. Removing vs disable bloat/unnecessary apps

Can an expert scheme in which is better method and why?
I removed lots of bloats apps from here and feel like my phone drain faster than live them on or disable them. Any experts?
disabling an app disables it so the system knows not to use it. uninstalling an app gets rid of it so it's not physically on the phone. If you want more space on your internal memory uninstall the apps. If your noticing more drain check your battery stats and your data states in system settings. There has to be an app or something doing it. The disabled apps shouldn't because they're disabled.

I use CPUSpy to keep an eye on if my phone is doing odd things. For example the other day my battery was draining like I was constantly using the phone. CPUSpy confirmed that to be the case ... my phone was not going in to deep sleep.
BetterBatteryStats will give you an idea of why your phone isn't sleeping properly (assuming that's your problem). In my case, it turned out to be the Google+ Camera Upload service. It was constantly holding a wakelock, so my phone wouldn't sleep. I hadn't even configured Google+ so I'm not sure WTF it was doing. I froze the app in Titanium Backup and haven't had a problem since.
Also... just IMHO - I don't remove stock apps. Freeze them in Titanium Backup. That way if something goes bad after freezing an app, you can just defrost it and resolve the issue.
I have Cpuspy check for 2 conditions. Both went to deep sleep fine. The difference is stanby time. Even phone is in deep sleep, the % battery goes down faster for Rom with all bloat s removed

Check your cell standby. How much battery is it using. If your phone has to keep looking for signal it's going to use more battery.

Battery Drain and "Android OS" data hog?

Hello everyone.
Don't know if this is a known problem, but after upgrading to 4.1.2, battery doesn't last nearly as long as in ICS or GB. I need to plug the phone one or two times for a while through the day.
Besides, something is hogging the data in the background. I use Onavo Count to keep an eye on data usage, and recently an app identified as "Android OS + Others" appeared on the top list. It sucks around 5 MB a day, which isn't much, but my monthly data cap is pretty low and this never happened before 4.1.2.
Any ideas? Do you have the same issue? Thanks in advance!
Regarding battery drain I advice you to install Wakelock Detector to see which processes are using most of your CPU and battery overall.
After that, if your phone is rooted, install Greenify and freeze every app that you want to freeze when phone goes in standby.

Greenify works with system apps?
Donation version can greenify system apps.
Alternative, although a bit different, is to freeze apps via Titanium Backup.

Try doing a clean install again(wiping data)
Or disable usage and error reporting services...also disable background data(not sure if it's on jb as am on cm10)
Also if u don't use Picasa delete mediauploader.apk in System/App
Should decrease quite some battery and data use

What most people think android os is on a battery use log is wrong. For instance, write down your android os number, go watch a YouTube video through the app.. android os usage should have risen in the battery usage and data usage number. What android os is, is a catch all for apps who don't store stats for data or battery usage under their own name. YouTube comes up in data and battery usage but in tiny tiny amounts, compare it's number to even the shortest video you've watched and you'll see it doesn't match up but what's added to android os does. I use YouTube as a simple representation of multiple apps that do this. Battery usage in android devices can usually be backtracked to data usage, turn data off battery life doubles even triples sometimes.

Thanks, just did a clean install, rooted, and deleted mediauploader.apk. Will report back in a few days.
Nope. Got rid of MediaUploader.apk and the phone is still consuming a lot of data. No difference with battery life either.
I had the issue of battery drain, and phone heating up, and the phone lagging all time, for my XS. Flashed official JB, problems re-occurred after a few weeks. Now recently I again did a factory reset, and has been selectively installing apps/enabling services to locate the cause. Till now I have seen the google location reporting (not the general location settings) consumes a lot of battery. You can try disabling it (from google settings) and see the battery usage. Let me know if that was the cause for you also

[Q] Stock ROM System Battery App Data incorrect

Hi All,
I have a very peculiar issue with my Note2. The battery info (system --> Battery) is always the same, infact it does not change. Lately my battery life has degraded and i wanted to know why. It is at this point i found out that the app actually does not show correct information regarding the battery usage by apps.
Any ideas.

Are the native battery stats accurate?

Hey guys,
I wanted to know if the native stock Battery stats (under settings) considered accurate.
I suspect that a certain app drains my battery, though I cannot see it under the Battery stats menu.
Is there any chance an app drains a lot of battery and it's still won't appear under this menu?
Thanks
Tom.
I use it only for total uptime and screen on time. Other is near useless. It always show similar stat whenever you battery draining fast or not.

Not in the slightest when it comes to which app is using what. Get BMP from the play store to check wakelocks and such.
I too only use it for the total uptime and screen time. For specific app usage I use Betterbatterystats and android tuner, both paid.

Google app draining battery?

Hey, my phone has been dying super fast over the past couple days and I have no idea why. I checked my battery usage and it suggests I disable the google app because of how much battery its taking. I am not using the google app any more than I did in the past. Anybody else notice this?
