Firmware for Parrot Android Mini - Connected Car

refesfrfsef

Hi
As you see I am new to this forum. About 5 or 6 years ago I bought a Parrot Asteroid Mini based on my very positive experience with the handsfree units when I lived in South Africa.
Today I finally ventured into the installation of the Mini in my Nissan Navara 2008. All went well, but the firmware needs updating. I get the message that Ëbox requires version 0.26 (the current version is 0.25). After looking all over the web for the appropriate firmware file it is nowhere to be found - I am truly stuck.
Are you able to point me in the right direction?
I understand that Mini and Tablet is two names for the same product. I have also seen that Smart and Tablet share the same firmware. Is this correct?
I gather that it may be difficult to find applications for it now. Are you aware what has happened to Markets - is it closed or migrated to something else.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Late last night the firmware issue was resolved after I pressed OK.
My only remaining question relates to Asteroid Markets. Can it be found anywhere on the web or is it gone for good?

Hi, I just bought a car and it has a Parrot Asteroid Mini, it is in Italian language, does anyone know how to change the language?

Hi there I brought a car few years ago with parrot asteroid mini gps and I need to update the software but I can't find the lasted update, can anyone help me please ?
Many thanks

BMW Driver's Please help

Hi guys,
Just found this forum and it looks great. Anyhow, i'm the middle of buying my first ever phone/pda and have decided to go for the TMobile MDA III/xda iii.
I have one major issue that needs answering prior to buying it and hopefully someone here might be able to assist.
I drive a 320d sport touring 2004 model, this has the standard bmw business tape player but also has the Bluetooth Phone option installed by factory, currently it works like a dream with my Nokia 6310i.
So, my questions is, Does anyone know if the mda iii would work in my car.
I have tried many BMW forums including bmwland/e46fans etc etc and no one can give me a answer, i have also checked the X5 forum however its not listed on there list.
I hope someone can assist as its the only thing holding me back on buying the unit.
Thanks to all.
Roger
Well I would say to give it a go, there shouldnt be any reason why it wouldnt work. If it didn't work and you bought it from an o2 shop you always have 14 days return guarantee. I have a BMW 7 series but didnt go for the bluetooth option as I have the wired factory telephone kit fitted but just give it a go.

No waY. The MDA III does not work reliably with BMW bluetooth. I've spend hours patching the darn thing. Sometimes it works, most times it doesnt. Somethings badly screwed up here.
stick the widcomm bluetooth drivers on the phone, I bet ur using the crappy microsoft bluetooth stack!
I had the Xda IIs working in an X5 with the standard BT kit, although it occasionally decides to disconnect. No such luck with the iDrive version of BMWs BT kit, pairs up but doesn't work at all. I can't really recommend it for use with a beamer, maybe after the first ROM update is released!
From previous posts on here I'd say the MDA version of the phone has even worse BT so definitely don't go there!
thanks for the reply guy's.
have decided to go for it anyway as i need somethng like a phone / pda.
Cheers

Co-Pilot Installation

hi every1,
my 3 contract runs out next month and i am thinking about getting the MDA Compact III.
My question is about co-pilot that comes with the t-mobile UK bundle. I was wondering if was able to get hold of the installation cd's from somewhere ... can i install it on my empty memory card
are there any serial numbers or anything that i might need?
//edit
just another question to add. anyone with the co-pilot bundle. i went to a t-mobile shop today to ask them about a similer question. worded differently tho lol. seem to have answered my question. the co-pilot bundle does come with original installation cds for you to re-install them on your mem card. ;-)
but the women said that the co-pilot bundle comes with an antenna that plugs into the back of the phone. now im wondering
1) is this really needed? bcoz i thought the GPS was in-built????
2) wot type of antenna would i need? and how much do they cost?
thanks,
Snoop
Ive ordered a compact III without the copilot bundle. from reading other peoples reviews, they have installed software such as tomtom on the pda and it worked successfully. Hence im pretty sure you dont need any sort of antenna. Interesting to know what they meant?

thats a good point you know. maybe she said that it comes with attenna because it would help boost the signal. bcoz my friend has a navman pda and he uses an external attenna to do just that.
it be interesting to know to excat box contents of the phone and phone with copilot bundle. can anyone fill us in please
thanks,

Sounds interesting.
Maybe they include an RDS antenna to get live traffic updates??
Can anyone confirm this?
hi guys,
regarding this external antenna. please read below. found it on this website http://htcphonestore.com/review.asp?itemMDL=HTC_P3300
GPS Navigation
One of the best features of the Artemis is the integrated GPS. With a built in GPS Sirf-Star III chipset, navigation was seamless. The unit comes bundled with TomTom 6, and included in your purchase is the ability to download one free city-map. Additionally, there is an external antenna port on the back of the unit which enables you to achieve better satellite reception. More on the GPS capabilities in Part II.
just need to find out what type it is. maybe some with the manual can have a read through and tell us. if under there accessories section they mention anything.
thanks,
snoop
found this description about a Bluetooth GPS antenna?
http://www.yourkindamobile.co.uk/upgrades2_orange.asp?Phone=2036&Network=T-Mobile
Includes Co-Pilot GPS navigation which gives you spoken and on-screen turn instructions, satellite positioning, address-level street map, ETA and distance remaining, detour around traffic and 2D or 3D display with night mode. Bluetooth GPS antenna included.

If you really think you need an external aerial for the GPS unit in your device (which I doubt to be honest) have a search for the part number 36H00352-00M it transpires that the same aerial was supplied for the I-Mate PDA-n, you can purchase one from http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=129590 (at least I can improve the reception on my PDA-n now I know that! and I have found a use for the external GPS aerial that was supplied with my Arte) - Mike
To confirm guys...
I opened the box to an MDA III co-pilot and the package contains:
Software
Moulded Car Holder (Windscreen Sucker)
Car charger for MDA
No GPS antenna and no Bluetooth receiver. This product retails at 169.99 compared to 199.99 with the GPS bluetooth receiver (Vario, Vario 2 etc...)

wwwhoooo thanks treblechance. thanks for confirming, must mean the shop assisant meant that you can BUY one extra. like the one pointed out by mikealder. because i know a friend who has one of those navman pda's and he is using an external attenaa to boost the signal. and simply plugs in the back, similar place to what the shop assisstant showed me.
looks like i what need to buy the copilot bundle after all SAVING me a bundle of $$$ hehe
thanks everyone for the help.
If you have the hardware and only need the GPS software try using it first with the inbuilt GPS, don't go wasting money on the external GPS aerial, the receiver in the Artemis is very good without re-course to an external feed. If you have a car with Athermic coated glass you might experiance a signal drop but even so I would try it first and it should be fine with just the device on its own - Mike
ye good point mike. thats what some of my friends said. thanks
Manual

TomTom on the MDA Compact III? Anyone used one?
Hi all,
I am in the process of getting tmobile mda iii compact without the bundled co-pilot but tmobile call centre said it wouldn’t work but I’m very taken with tom tom.
So I am seeking information from anyone that has actually pulled it off.
This is because I would like to know if there are any negatives involved and what.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanx

hi,
i think they may be right. i tried getting co-pilot to work on my mda but wasnt having any of it. so i gave up in the end. i think the only way you can install it is using some kind of auto install file that is on the memory that is provided when you buy the bundle.
as for tom tom. i have managed to get that working just prefect. i tried it inside my house wasnt getting a very good signal. stepped outside...and hey presto 11 signals picked up. i havnt done full test of it i.e. driving from my house to another location. but it seemed to work fine when i did a small walk around my local area.
hope that helps.

snoop
i have a question about copilot's installation. Does anyone know where the license file is installed. I had copilot installed on one device and copied files onto another device thinking that would save me download time. Anyway now it keeps picking the licensing info from the previous device. I have tried uninstall and reinstall but that did not help. If someone could help me with resetting the licensing info so I can register the software with the new key. Thanks.

Bluetooth Gamepad Support

Hi everyone,
So it seems that someone yesterday had questions/complaints along the similar lines as mine; however, I just wanted to put this out there so it could be forwarded to the development team as well. I recently purchased a Bebeoncool bluetooth gamepad to use for gaming on my 1-day-old Nextbit Robin but have had no luck. I'm able to get the gamepad to connect and it shows the gamepad icon (as opposed to a keyboard, etc.) but no matter what input setting on the controller I choose I cannot elicit any sort of functionality. I connected the gamepad to my Note7 and it worked perfectly fine--I was able to navigate the screens on my phone and play various games with gamepad support. Any ideas? Perhaps there's a bug that needs to be straightened out.
If you're wondering what I'm referring to in my opening statement, search the Nextbit Robin forums for "Trouble with connecting a bluetooth mouse with a Nextbit Robin. Any tips/suggestions?"
Hopefully this is an issue the dev team can straighten out soon--seems simple enough. I will be [very reluctantly] turning in my Note7 to T-Mobile later this week and want to continue my mobile gaming!
Look forward to pushing my Robin to the limits!
Thanks,
Josh
Same problem here
Hey Josh, any luck about this matter? I have the exact same problem but with an ipega 9025 bluetooth controller. Any sort of hint would be very appreciated :good:
No luck!

Hey raftudela,
So since I made this post, I had a conversation with a Nextbit rep. We all agreed that it was a software issue rather than a hardware issue. Per their last message to me:
"It looks like I received a response from our engineering team sooner than I thought!
They are aware of this issue, but right now it doesn't seem to be a priority in resolving it as we have an extremely high demand for Android 7.0 from our customers. As I mentioned before, it's possible that this will be addressed when we update to 7.0, but maybe not.
Engineering is definitely aware of the issue and will work on it as soon as possible; however, I simply don't have a timeline for when that will happen."
Looks like we are out of luck until the Android 7.0 Nougat update! Even then it seems we are not going to be guaranteed compatibility ; thus, I've just ordered a Pixel XL and moved on with my life. This was kind of the plan for me anyways as the Robin was a cheap phone to use after I turned in my Note 7!
Well, Sh*t
Thanks for your reply, Josh.
Looks like I'll have to do something similar then. It's a shame, I really like the Robin
Cheers mate!
Hey fellas, I've been having this issue also and there are at least 2 confirmed responses of gamepads working on the nougat beta over on the Nextbit forums. I just got the Robin a few weeks ago and haven't flashed any roms yet. Maybe it's working on omni.

I'm on Omni. Can confirm that Gamepads work. In fact, I didn't even know this was ever an issue!
Hi, this is making me nuts. I've googled, checked youtube ,the bebencool site and can find nothing. I have a bebencool bluetooth controller that pairs with my Galaxy S8 plus and it finds it and it pairs but will not connect, I get a message saying "can not connect to bluetooth while acting as an input device" . Has anyone encountered this and knows how to fix it maybe? BTW I'm trying to use it with my Samsung Gear VR.
Thanks

Android update on Android Car Radio unit?

Hi there,
Although I have this radio head unit for a few years, I'm not using my car much(52.000km in 6 years). I was wondering if there is any android development in my car unit
P.S. I'm stuck with android 4.4.2 and although it's stable it has a few minor bugs, sometimes it might freeze(rarely happened 3-4 times in 6 years) or black screen(2-3 times per 6 years)
Talked to the seller, well he pointed out that my unit is old nowadays so I should ditch it and just get a new one. Not sure what brand it is(probably some generic?) but it says "Model: S07"
EDIT: After a google search, I've found this: "https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3246386" so probably I'm lucky. A MOD can delete this

did you upgrade successfully of your android system ? If yes. that's great !
if not, there is another way for you . ask your supplier to update it and keep it stable.
You just need wireless CarPlay dongle. then you got carplay android auto mirror link for your radio screen.

Don't know if you already get your old one upgraded? if no, you may also think about getting an aftermarket Android radio, just search "best Android car radio" on google you may get many answers.Don't spend too much, $200 can get this thing done.

Samsung 6 Series 3d FHD LED Android

Hi all, I'm Mike and I'm new to the group. I was Wondering if anyone could give me an insite to something I got told a few days ago. I have a Samsung series 6 as it says in the title above. A relation of my partners came to visit us over Christmas and explained that the TV we have, the firmware could be upgraded to the 4k firmware because its already 4k enabled when it left the factory? Is this true? If so where could I get the firmware from for it? Personally myself I don't believe them, But 4k did come out around the same time as my TV. I have spent some time looking but can't really find any info on it. Any help or info is appreciated. Thankyou all.
