Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab S10 YT-X705F - Bootmenu - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I have now been sitting with a Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab S10 YT-X705F, sinces just before Christmas battling to upgrade it from Android in to Ubuntu 20.10. it is rooted, but I can't find the boot menu. I saw that on a Tab S2 it where just to multi tap [F7] or let me put it in this way perhaps even better... anyone know exact how it's done to install Ubuntu or perhaps even better Ubuntu Touch on a Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab S10 YT-X705F?

stil don't know why this tablet gets the silent treatment, each and every post regarding this tablet has exactly 0 or 1 comment and that comment would be mine.
Is this tablet locked or something, 30-11-21 the device is EOL and no more updates are coming stuck with android 10. and a buggy google assistant. I'll keep looking for a custom rom but i've been looking for 2 years now

You can root the tablet. I have made a separate post about it. It is also possible to run GSI's on this tablet. I managed to run Android 12. I will do a separate post on that too

(REQUEST) Recents Screen from 4.4.2 to 5.1.1? Is it possible?

Hi, I recently installed the official Lollipop stock rom to my P600 but I found that they made an step backwards by replacing the simple and nice recents screen in 4.4.2 with a laggy full-screen new one in 5.1.1. So I am wondering if it is possible to get that back with replacing the apk or sth. This is what I mean:
4.4.2

It is not what I don't like about the Lollipop Recents... it is what I do like from the KitKat one: its simplicity. In less than 1/3 of the screen you can see clearly more previous apps than in the lollipop's one, and it becomes easier to switch to "that email you were writing an hour ago" or "that movie you were watching before remembering about the email". And it does not fill the whole screen, so it feels more integrated. Let's say like the Window's taskbar.

Well , then I guess it might be better to try out the app "Taskbar 7" ( you can google it ... I didn't find the GP link ... ) which I guess the newest version was 1.8 ... it sets up a taskbar like Win 7 's one ... also you can try out " Glovebox " or "Swapps" which are made for the same propose ... I hope they help you

Need help - pop up on screen, and what rom is on my device?

Hope this is the correct spot for this... I loaded a new rom on my old Sprint Samsung Galaxy SIII a couple years back (not sure which rom now) but I kept getting the popup shown in the image, finally got frustrated and pretty forgot about the device.

Found the device again this week and I'm now wanting to use it in my office mainly for streaming music to a bt speaker. However I'm wondering 2 things - first is there a way to get rid of this pop up on this particular rom?
And #2 any suggestions on what rom I should be using on this device to use it as a media streamer? Will need bt access and wifi, camera would be nice as well as use of the microSD slot... suggestions welcome!

Looks like the stock ROM, definitely a TouchWiz based ROM. That message on screen could be one of the settings in developer options. USB notification in status bar too. Look for settings about showing stats, turn them off.
ROMs, for media streaming, stock is fine. Just a little outdated. Lineage is on nougat 7.1.2 now. Everything works fine on it. Octos is on nougat as well. Both have currently maintained ROMs for Sprint S3.
This is because your efs got wiped or modified
I think that this is because your efs partition got modified or wiped during installation or something, you can fix that using EFS Professional.
You can go here and find out how :

Message and Call Continuity Blocked after Android Pie Update

I just updated my T-Mobile Tab s4 to Pie. I was hoping the Tab S5e message and calling feature would come to this tablet. Well, it did, but is blocked. It is baked into the Pie update and alive on the tablet (see screenshot), i just cannot access it. Any savvy geniuses out there want to get this figured out?
Any luck?
Could you flash an international ROM possibly? I'm not sure exactly what would be compatible or not.
I have a SMT835N and recently tried a Sprint ROM and Phone ability was removed. I am wondering if the same limitation is applied across US carriers and if that limitation is not present in international versions.
Hi. Your post doesn't show any screenshot. How do I get there? I have the Wi-Fi version.

Call and message continuity (as far as I know) didn't get added to the S4. Maybe for the LTE versions, but my US wifi model doesn't even have the option. Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?
I'm not seeing it on my T-Mobile S4 at all...
My UK Wifi Tab S4 got Continuity with the Pie update, but I was only able to use it when my S10+ received an update this week.
Screenshots?
My tab s4 does not have call option with any update
I found something potentially interesting. I'm not sure about the inner workings of Call and Message Continuity, but it seems like it might be an apk? There is an app with that name on apkmirror. I downloaded and tried to install it but it just says install failed..... If that's all that's needed maybe it needs to be a system app?

Forcefully Enable Always on Display Mi 10T

Is there any way to forcefully enable AOD on Mi 10T? Via build.prop or tweaking MIUI itself; I just want to try this while my phone screen is off, that's all

It's a fun novelty, we should all admit.
I tried installing the Always on apk from the m10 on my 10T but nothing changed.
Then I changed my region to India (global rom) and the AOD option appeared in settings but when I applied it, nothing happened.
Always on displays are only available on OLED screens that can illuminate single pixels. LCD will never have always on displays so this thread needs closing.

LCDs are never meant to have AODs, yes, I get the whole point out of it, but My point is, there are ways that other MIUI devices, i.e., RN9Pro curtana, with a lil bit of flashing some AOD Mods thru Magisk have proven that MIUI AOD can be enabled, what I'm trying to convey is that, os there anyone here, with the knowledge and enough curiosity that could help people like me to enjoy a bit stupid but fun way of "messing around" with the android framework, that's all. You don't need to "Close" this thread.
Honestly, ain't anyone here amazed by that MIUI AOD? It consumes power because we have an LCD panel, yes, but we can turn it off anytime. It's both the novelty and satisfaction that gave birth to this stupid but curious idea.
It's not that much of a novelty, i had aod 10 years ago on several phones... It just comes to the fact that you don't really don't need that
si think this is a good idea! probably all LCD displays know aod handling. It just doesn’t allow it because of the brutal reduction in energy use!
Iomarius said:

General Android 12 (non-beta) available for my T810S

On Friday I received a notification on my phone that an update was available for my T810S that I'm running in the USA on Cricket!

So, it's finally available!
Anyways, I just finished up backing up the images and other things from my phone, and am going to try installing it tonight.
My 64GB SD card has been full for some time, and I was saving stuff to the internal phone memory, which I don't like to do. But, I got everything copied to my PC, my RAID server and my backup drive, so I'm going to clean the items from my phone and do the update.
I sure hope that this fixes the notification issues.
Alright, I was able to successfully install the Android 12 update!
I really like the upgraded looks of the user interface changes, and it showed me a nice little tour of the Android 12 features. The extended screenshot capability feature could be really useful.
I'll give an update in a few days to let you know how it's working.
Here are the screenshots.
After clicking the install button it started showing a slow percentage increase, so I left it alone for half an hour while I did other stuff. When I came back, it was showing this.
After the update, it showed this:
Here's the About Phone screen, showing that I'm now running Android 12.
Just a quick update to let you all know that everything has been working well for my TCL 20 Pro 5G (T810S) since I installed the Android 12 update. I actually get notifications from all of my applications, and battery life doesn't seem to be any different than when I was on Android 11. Having notifications from all apps again is a real game changer for me!
I uninstalled and reinstalled some of the applications that I had previously manually tweaked the power settings on.
The only oddity that I noticed, is that if I have JBV1 auto-start with Android Auto (like I've always had), it locks up Waze and freezes Android Auto! I need to look into why that is happening, but for now I just disabled the auto-start functionality of JBV1.
