Bad Radio Signal ( FM / DAB+) - MTCD Android Head Units General

I drive an Golf 6 with a FM Antenne in the Rear Window. Additionaly i installed a DAB+ FM Splitter .
I have an PX6 Avin Device.
The Radio and the DAB+ recierving works but not the Best. When i make the RearHeating ON DAB+ Signal is gone.
A FM Radiostation near by had a very bad receiving? What can i do? Does i need a Atenna Booster for the MK6?? Or have i a Problem with the Atenna ?

I drive a VW Touran and have also retrofitted the DAB / FM splitter. The radio reception is great.
Did you also connect the phantom power?

Hello
i have this one.
No Phantom Power is connect. Only the double Fakra in the Radio an den other in the DVB+ Stick

The splitter needs phantom power.

Do you mean? Doesn't the radio have 12V at the antenna output?

I don't think China Radio usually has phantom power in its delivery.
You have to read that in the instruction manual.

Ok the phantom power is not delivery, i think so too. I mean the Radio itself gives the Power over the Antenneoutput like a Orginal VW-Radio, or is that not so?
Somebody tells me that i can messure it at the AntenneInput from the Radio , or at the plug at the back of the rear window that goes to the switch.12v must be applied.

Ok, I have to install phantom power for my China radio, the VW radio RNS310 DAB didn't need that.

FM radio performance...Anygood?

Really interested in the artemis due to its fm radio and Gps....what's the Radio like?...Is it anygood?
I tried the radio on the o2 atom and found it rubbish is the artemis any better?
Also does anyone have any screenshots of the radio app in action
Cheers
FM Radio
Just got my P3300. I have to say after 7 PPC Phones this is by far the best. In regards to your question, the FM Radio is great. Very sensitive and sounds good through the speaker. However, the biggest downfall is that you have to have the headphones plugged in to the USBExt port on the phone. They apparently hold the antenna. The app won't even start unless they are plugged in. This is a major limitation I hope someone finds a work around. Apparently there is a USBExt to 3.5mm jack adapter but I don't know if this will trick the FM Radio software into starting with out the supplied headphones.
Anyway, hope that helps.
JBW
Ahhh thats good to know ...even more tempted now
You dot happen to have any screenshots of the radio app in action at all do you?
Thanks
The Radio performance is quite good, one thing I really like is the ability to set the radio going on the channel you want, switch off the Artemis and carry on listening - certainly a power saving feature. If you need to look at a screen shot try see the image below, there are other features such as sleep timer etc, but this really isn't a purchase decision to be honest - Mike
Does it come with 2.5mm or 3.5mm or others for the audio?
Neither, see bwallis post above! the audio is routed through the mini USB OR A2DP Bluetooth, this works very well, but the radio still needs the earphones plugged in as they are the aerial - Mike

Thanks for your information. Can I use BT headset to enjoy the radio instead of the wired headphone?
I don't think so - I have tried the radio running with the device conected via A2DP to the cars system, the Artemis Radio plays through the wired headset while any other noise is routed over bluetooth through the car deck. Even if you managed to get the audio routed to a BT headset you will still need the wired phones plugged in to get the radio program to actually work - Mike
Yep.. if I'm not wrong, the software BlueCast can transfer ALL sounds (incl ones from your TomTom and Radio) through A2DP. But in order for the Radio to work, physically plugging in something into the miniUSB port is a must.
Anyways, does the package come with a mini-USB to 2.5mm jack? or is it 3.5mm? I'm currently using a 2.5mm cable with mic.. and was hoping to use back the same if I were to get this Artemis..
Thanks
FYI, the 3.5 to USB adapter does not work to allow FM radio with your own headphones. It pops an error that you need the headphones plugged in to use the radio. Until a hack is found, you must plug in the supplied headphones.
db
erm do you actually need the headphones to be plugged in, in order to get the RDS/TMC info traffic for GPS softs like Destinator6?
Don't think it does RDS/TMC
is there any register hack that will start de fm-radio program ??
Hi fellas.. Just realised from one of the reviews that the mini-USB connector is shaped differently than the standard symmetrical one. Are they compatible?
Thanks

Hi there!
Anybody knows if the FM-radio has RDS support??
PK
RDS yes but only for the radio station name, nothing else is used - you get the station name when it is transmitted and your headphone leads can pick-up the data - Mike
Hi!
OK, does this mean that AF (alternative frequency) is not supported?

Does this require any special trick ? In my case I can't see any station names ? (I can see them on normal radio). I am using the standard headphone attached.

Radio FM and B&B 3.7

I've found that the FM radio it's always on "mono", if i switch the radio to stereo, nothing appened , just turn on on display "stereo" but the sound is still mono.
I own an O2 orbit and I have the same problem. The radio is mono even you select stereo.
I dont have this problem on my Orbit.
Once i select stereo mode it is in stereo mode with 3.7

Before that u should check whether u r rx a stereo signal. if TX is mono then switching stereo will have no effect.

i'm sure that the signal is stereo and with the maximum signal..... the frequincies are the same that i was listening before with B&B 3.0.
Have the same problem, but I found that you need 4 or more bars in the signal strength before it swiches on the stereo mode.

the same problem with B&B 4.0.... and 5 bars of signal.
i don't think so cuz with the new B&B v4.0 rom everything works fine just the touch flo which has a little problem with.
now i can hear stereo only with the maximu signal, but the channel separation is really poor.... is not so stereo like an mp3.
ther're any program or sw to improve the radio??

Dasaita V600 Head Unit not switching to reverse camera

Finally installed a reverse camera on my BMW E46, all cables are right connected and the camera is working during a test on workbench.
My Dasaita V600 head unit (MCU updated to last 2.80 version) dont have a "reverse signale cable" but is supposed to switch in reverse camera through the canbus (E39-E46 software V1.0) so my camera is only connected to "CAM-IN yellow" cable for HU.
Putting reverse gear (motor running or not) the head units dont auto switch to "CAM IN" input for showing images from camera. Anyone had this issue? Any help?
P.S.: If the camera is connected to "AUX Video IN" and manually started AVIN app images are on screen, so no troubles with camera and/or connections.
Thank you in advance

The options was enabled by default on my unit. Tried all options and deep searching for a "software solution" without luck.
Only working thing i find was cutting a wire from canbus box and direct connect the other side from my HU to reverse signal wire from my auto.
I think that was caused from BMW E46 I-BUS signals not fully decoded from canbus, i have retained all steering wheels controls but not doors open warnings, if they are supposed to show on HU display.
If anyone have some advices they are welcome.
P.S.: In my case working for steering wheel controls setting are NO CANBUS. If i try to select another BMW voice from list i lose steering wheel controls.

Can you tell me what wire you cut and connected the blue from reverse light?
BL/GE - Blue/Yellow wire
I understood that it was a wire between the headunit and the canbus decoder.
(on Automatic Gear Box it seems it works just fine)
I know that the data is send and it works The Ibus is able to detect the msg, this decoders just don't catch on older veicules with Manual Gear Box.

Sorry i did not explain correctly.
The BL/GE - Blue/Yellow wire is the one i'm going to connect to a specific wire that is cut from the headunit
What Reverse/Back wire did you cut to get the reverse signal on the HeadUnit+Canbus decoder?

i used the wire number 2 labeled "reverse" on HU side, but you need to be sure that your HU is a Dasaita for BMW E46.
Check the wire/connection label on your HU for confirmation.
P.S.: On kmy case the wire was orange

I don't think it's strictly Dasaita, as this is the same for Eonon as well. I had to tap into the blue wire between the HU & CANBUS converter. I have the power for the camera tapped into the reverse light.
I too have an E46 Touring. I'm curious, where did you mount your camera? I put mine right above the licence plate dead center of the hatch release button. It's a perfect spot! I removed the torx screws and slid it behind the plate light bracket and ran the wires through there as well. It works fantastic in this location and it even assists when connecting a trailer because it's close to the hitch.

I've seen cameras that replace one of the lights. I thought about 3D printing an adapter but I went the route I did to keep both lights and have the camera dead center.
Yes, but you need the I-BUS interface to do that. The Canbus converter doesn't do much. With the I-BUS interface & I-BUS app you're able to see what doors and windows are open, what lights are on, and you can code your car as well.

Does FM Radio works for everybody

For me the FM radio just gives noise. Even preset stations are not working.
Silly question: - Have you a Headset attached?
It needs the cable of the headset as an aerial!
I Believe, if using MIUI, you can test the Radio with the Service Menu (tap on Kernel a few times).
FM Radio apk in RR/LOS works.

[Help] SWC only works 50% bottons Alfa Romeo 159

Hi

My Car: Alfa Romeo 159
Since a month ago, I´m trying to resolve my problem. Only 50% buttons swc are working:
My android radio has canbus box. I have accessed and configured canbus in "factory settings tap" but my problem continue ( by default canbus wasn´t configured ).
The app to remap the buttons does not detect any button on the steering wheel, it only shows "Reset" and "Save" but I can not do anything with it.
I have reading a lot of post... Is possible that I need to connect wire Key1 and wire Key2? How should I connect "key1" and "key2"? Could it be the solution?
Any kind of help is welcome. Thank you very much

Check that allí connectors from/to canbus and to the headunit are well connected (sometimes they require some force press to really be plugged)
On the link you provided there is a guy that commented that everything worked as expected including the SWC so....if you can't fix it contact your seller for support

Found said posts and they were for car which communicate with resistive signals via canbus (or something ), so wiring the canbus from car harness directly to key1/2 gives access to the buttons.
If Alfa uses no resistive signals, you wont get away with this.
GM cars like mine have the buttons via hardcoded addresses via canbus and you can only try to find those codes in android or mod MCU profile it seems... too nub to do so in my case.. trying hard

Theyre not the posts I was talking about - pretty certain theres a way to programme CAN Bus SWC.
Alfa 159s have CAN Bus SWC.
I've had a similar problem with my Alfa 159 when I installed a PX3 unit. However, for me all the SWC buttons except the centre button on the left set work (i.e. pic 1) and only the left and right SWC buttons on the right set (i.e. pic 2). It is weird as the buttons that do not work mimic the other buttons for some reason so it's like crossing of signals or decoding it wrong.
As I didn't find anyone else having a problem I assumed it was either the CAN bus decoder (I opened it up and flipped switch 4 which helped I think but maybe it isn't suitable?) or the connection behind the steering wheel is loose. I haven't got round to checking the connection (apparently it's simple to open) as I can still control most things.
BTW, my car had the blue&me installed from factory.
SWC on Alfa Romeo 159
H all, I just installed a new Android head unit in my Alfa Romeo 159 SW (2006) and all the SWC's work and I can map them from the app. Below I will explain how I did it, hope this will help.
My head unit:
Xtrons TE706PL
PX 5 octacore 4GB 32BG Android 8
My car:
Alfa Romeo 159 SW
Upgraded from original radio (so not the navigation unit)
My car did not have Blue&Me
Required hardware:
Dedicated CANBUS adapter
Connect2 (company that make it) CTSAR002.2 (product number)
Patch lead to go with canbus adapter
Connect2 (company that make it) CTMULTILEAD.2 (product number)
I ordered both from Amazon Germany from seller NIQ. The patch lead was included with the CANBUS adapter, just make sure to select the correct one meant for Chinese head units. Price was 60 euros.
Installation
The CANBUS adapter is connected between the original car connections and the head unit. This looks confusing at first (it has connections on three sides), but in the end everything only fits one way. On one side connect the patch lead, on the other side it is connected to the head unit and on the last side it is connected to the original car plugs. All these connections are very simple with plugs that only fit one way. (I did need quite some force to push in the 2 of the 3 original plugs into the CANBUS adapter)
As mentioned, the patch lead is connected to the CANBUS adapter on one side. On the other side you need to connect it to the KEY 1, KEY 2 and GROUND wire coming from the head unit. This was the only connection that is not made with plugs, so either crimp them together (which I did, very simple, but you need a crimping tool), solder them, or make another good wire to wire connection.
Important notes:
The connection need to be made in a specific order!
First connect KEY 1, KEY 2 and GRND wires
Second connect the CANBUS adapter to the head unit
Last step is to connect the CANBUS adapter to the car connections
My car did not have Blue&Me, so I don't know if this changes anything. I think I read somewhere you can just leave it in the car and not connect it. But maybe do a little research.
All this is also specified in the manuals provided with the products. Connects2 has some nice youtube videos on the CANBUS adapters, just google them.
I did quite some research myself before I figured it out, but now all is installed and working perfectly! I reprogrammed all the keys to my own preferences, including google assistant speech activation button.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info, but what unit do you have ? - "TE706PL" is a made up name, your MCU will tell us what unit it is, I m guessing a GS ?

I have a PX5 and have the same issue.
I see people talking about their chinesses mtcd/e read all the can protocols (open doors, all the swc, radio info to main pannel...)
Talking to my seller, he told me that may be the can decoder. Offers me a refund but I want one that works 100%.
¿Someone have the full functional decoder?

More likely that its just not supported, some cars have even less support.

That's what Im trying to find, a canbus decoder with more options.
I had the alfa 159 android 5.1 unit and It shows temperature, doors and full keys function. I upgraded to a new unit android 7.1 and now I haven't temperature, doors and only half of keys are working.
