Hi! I have recently flashed my hp ipaq hx2410 to wm2005, the update process went fine but the device doesn't boot anymore. It shows the loading bar and it gets stuck when it fills up. I have tried hard reseting it but the problem persists. I can't flash it because active sync doesn't "see" it anymore... just a local area connection X - limited or no conectivity. What can I do ? Is there a way to boot the device in some sort of flash mode or something? Thank you very much
I had to do hard reset about 3 times when upgrading my hx2490B.

I have done a lot of hard resets but the device still gets stuck.
Another thing... I did not hard reset the device before de WM05 rom update. I thought it should do that by itself.
And second... If I get it to work I want to flash it to WM06. I have the rom but are there some special steps to be followed for this update ?
My pda still gets stuck in the bootloader and then the backlight turns off. Should I leave it that way untill the battery is completely flat ?
Some people say that removing the battery for 24 hours may help.
Try that.
When i flashed my 2490 i did format the device and than did the flash.
But I don't think that matters cause the first time when i did flash i didn't format the drive and it was OK.

I'll remove the battery then and see tommorow. The main question is: is my device completely dead or is it "resurectable" ? I don't think that it need servicing .... but ... just asking
Thank you for the replies. If the batterry removal fix works I'll post here. In the meantime any other possible sollutions are welcome.
My pda still doesn't boot. I have removed the battery for 24 hours and nothing. I have drained the battery and nothing. Did numerous hard resets and still no result. Can anyone help me ?
Just an idea (since I had to do this yesterday) maybe try formatting the device.
After flashing 4PDA ROM to my device it would get stack on the same screen as yours. After formatting it all went OK and I had WM6.
For my device I had to click calender + power + messaging + reset, release reset - release all.

Hi evereybody.
I have a GSM galaxy nexus with 4.2.2. Since approximately a month ago the phone started to reboot itself randomly. Sometimes when I was surfing the web, other times when the phone was on standby at night. Well, since the reboots were becoming more frequent I decided to do a factory reset, because I assumed that it was a corrupt application file or something like that. One week into the factory reset it started restarting again by itself, maybe 2 times a day. I searched the web, couldn't find anything useful so I told myself that the 4.3 update should solve the problem (naive me).
Today the update popped and I intermediately installed it. What is my surprise, that in the middle of installation I get the droid icon down on his back and an ERROR message. Rebooted the phone pulling out the battery and now the phone won't pass the multicolored X screen.
I have no unlocked bootloader, and the phone isn't rooted. So I tried to do a factory reset with the default recovery mode the galaxy nexus has. I wiped the phone but I get stuck on the same screen. The funny thing is that every time I try to wipe the caché partition the phone reboots itself immediately.
I don't know what to do. I'm not an advance user, I installed the GNEX TOOLKIT and tried to flash the factory image, but seems like I don't have the USB DEBUGGING option enabled and can't complete the process.
Do I need to send my phone back? (i'm still in warranty) Or is there a way to be able to start my Gnex again?
Thanks in advance.

no problem...
Hello friends!
I've found several threads on various forums with this problem, but no viable solutions so far.
I decided to give my 2013 N7 to my wife so I performed a factory data reset. It began the process then became stuck while erasing the userdata. After a couple hours it gave me the dead Android. I restarted and it was bootlooped. I then booted into bootloader mode to just flash the stock image files. While in fastboot, the first step I took was to unlock the bootloader. I was prompted with the "Yes" or "No" options. I choose yes then it hung at 'erasing userdata'. I left out overnight hoping it would eventually continue. No luck. I have never been rooted or ROM'd on this tablet. All stock. Has anyone found a fix for this issue? Thanks in advance!
I am in the exact same boat and have spent a number of hours over the last week or so trying to get it going again. Mine was actually running Android L since the day it dropped and got stuck in a bootloop after a dead battery. Something is definitely corrupt, because it fails to erase, format or flash any partitions.
I had left the bootloader unlocked after flashing L. In a fit of desperation, I tried fastboot oem lock, and of course it locked. Now I can't get it unlocked again.
What reading I have done doesn't look promising.
Yeah. I have found zero solutions on ecru forum out there. My wife's first gen N7 will bootloop out of nowhere about every three months. I loved Nexus tablets until this nonsense. I think I'm done with them.
I have the same problem.
Any solutions?

The only solution I ever found was to buy a broken screen tablet from eBay for it's motherboard. I spent hours and hours over a couple weeks trying to revive it. The replacement has been rock solid ever since.
Good luck
Any updates on how to fix this? I also encountered this problem. I was going to give my Nexus 7 away, so decided to do a factory reset. It took forever and just wound up showing a dead Android with an X on his chest. I turned it off and it said it was erasing, only to get the same results. I had never messed around by rooting or unlocking the bootloader, but I decided to try and unlock the bootloader, but the same thing basically happened. It hung up on erasing userdata and it never managed to unlock the bootloader. Do I have any options? My Nexus seems to be forever stuck on a screen with an Android saying it's erasing data, but it never manages to complete that task.
Thanks for any help guys.
I've had roughly the same happen to me on my Huawei P1 LTE. I can't do anything with my system partition......
From what I've seen on forums is that it can happen on any device. i.e. once your internal memory becomes corrupt, your F*cked.
As the Nexus 7 (2013) is now getting on a bit, the prices are so cheap that I would suggest just picking up another.
Hey all, I need some assistance here. So my device is Nexus 5x H790 unlocked bootloader, stock ROM, Usb debugging enabled. I had the latest October updates (90S I believe) and everything was running just fine on it until about 5 days ago. I was using my phone like normal and suddenly it turned off. I could not turn it back on and when it did it would get stuck at the Google screen and then begin to bootloop several times before turning off. I have gotten to the recovery screen 1 time and wiped cache but still same result. There was one instance where the phone completely booted up and was receiving the numerous texts over the few days and even sent a few. Then it crashed again after 5 mins :crying:
Here is what I've tried:
-Attempted to reflash October images from googles website. I have experience doing this before from using Heisenburg's method 9 (no change)
-Then began to research and thought it was the power button getting stuck issue. Brought it to a repair shop and they opened it and checked out the power button and said it was firmware not the button and to factory reset (brought it here because the device is 13 months old and figured it was cheaper/faster than sending to LG and waiting a whole month to get it back)
-Brought home from repair shop, reflashed latest October images and still could not boot up fully.
-Now I want to factory reset but cannot get to recovery screen, when I enter bootloader and scroll to Recovery it just goes to Google image again....I believe there are commands to wipe device userdata and tried "fastboot erase userdata" and "fastboot format data" but gave errors
I will try next to use a different USB port, now that just found a thread on here saying the 3.0 ports dont seem to work with that command even though I've used the same port for every image flash I've done in past
Any help/ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Same problem...
I have the same problem. Mine started bootlooping to the Google screen the same day my warranty expired...
I'm gooing to send it off to LG, but I really wish I could get my pics and texts off before they wipe it

I'm fairly certain its 12 months for manufacturer. I did not get the extra Nexus protect
In Europe there is 24 month warranty for all sold products. Kind of bad thing or kind of good thing.
ugh wife's Nexus 5x did this same thing. Been up all night trying EVERYTHING. Fastboot works but bootloader is locked so I can't do anything. Going to recovery just reboots the phone to logo.bin and then turns off again. Download mode is unreliable and when I get it to finally trigger, it doesn't go to the second phase where it waits for a firmware update (so I can't do the LGUP thing).
So I guess this is an OTA problem? Some BS.

In France LG does not guarantee the 24 months since March 2016. my nexus 5x is broken down one year and 1 day after the date of purchase with this same issue. At first LG told me that the warranty was OK then they retracted. I have a beautiful invoice with the change of motherboard ....

Just curious how much the new motherboard was quoted for repair? At this point I finally reached the recovery screen and performed a true factory reset but havent tried flashing latest images from google. I will update and let you know if that worked. If that doesnt work, I will be getting the pixel on Verizon on black friday for the $10/ mo
ok so bottom line is, I was in the middle of flashing official rom when at about 25% it failed. Don't ask why! (i still had recovery at this point) so I went ahead and cleaned absolutely everything thinking i'll just try and reflash as before. Now with power lead out it won't switch on at all and when power is supplied it shows message "An error has occured while udating the device software." loops at approx 3 sec intervals cant do anything with it.
Ive tried everything I can think of all to no avail! yes its my own fault bla bla bla just wondering if i act have f***** it.
Thanks to anyone with any ideas
You probably going to get a better help at TAB S2 board this is for the tab S1.
If it is hard bricked there is JTAG methods that can help, just need to find one for your device, not easy though.
But all I can do is share my experience with something like this, in a more "cheap" way than JTAGs, dunno if it helps:
I never had a similar problem on the tab S. But in the past a galaxy player 5.0 of mine had a very similar problem (as far I remember the screen just powered the back light but without any letters or simbols)
in 2012, I bricked it trying to mount a swap partition (280mb RAM ftw) accidentally pointing the wrong partition, and got the entire internal storage corrupted.. everything.. system, bootloader, recovery etc
My player was turning on only connected to a USB or charger, like yours. in fact It was hard bricked
I was able to recover it using Linux (because it is the only system able to communicate with the bricked device I had)
The problem is that everything need to be very specific, for example I used a software made for the galaxy s1 to "revive" my player 5 (both have the same hardware) it just made the device be detected via ADB. So I needed to prepare a SD with the same size as the internal storage (in this case 8gb) using the Linux terminal to mount in the SD an exactly schematic of the internal memory using a dump of another device that a xda user shared, (the dump was empty only with the bootloader, recovery etc) but it still had 8gb decompressed. So after that I used ADB to push the SD card content to the internal memory. And it get back to life \○/
Well.. it took me 1 week with a guide!! On the trial and error method. But it worked.. not perfectly, I get bootloops every time I try to flash a rom via Odin, but recovery works, and I have the device working until today
Hi, I Greatly appreciate your reply and advice. Think tho that your solution is a bit beyond my know how I know a little about ADB etc but i would have difficulties in compiling necessary files to sideload. Also many tanks for the link din't realise. Thanks Pal!

thx for reply but it reboots approx every 3 seconds so I dont have enough time to do anything with it :/

Stinka ure a superstar (atm!) I did as you suggest to no avail but I noticed a slight increase in the time it took to start rebooting again. I do not know which buttons did this but some 20 later it lasted long enough for me to be able to flash twrp. Now i havent actually tried that as yet as i wanted to check with you first... I have the battery logo on screen, i tried recovery and it started as it should but then rebooted, now im unsure at this time whether the battery is almost dead or not so i got it on charge and have the grey battery with a white flash inside... is this what i want for now until its charged? if so i'll keep you informed thamnks more than u know if uve helped me fix this, the reason i was flashing was because when i received it (no warranty!!) the screen sometimes flickered and it would constaly end up rebboting after digging around re that im lead to believe it need a new battery and for the connecting wires to be resoldered. Anyways thanks again n as I say i'll keep this updated
Cheers
Tony
one of the probs i hab/have with this unit is that it takes approx a day to fully charge!!! when i received it the screen flickered on the odd occasion but it was rebooting much more frequently. It came with stock n not messed with previously (i new this prior to purchase so got it for right price thinking it only needed flashing, how wrong was I!!!) so I flashed and encountered the above mentioned problems! thanks to stinka I surprisingly managed to flash a recovery... now provided all goes to plan, which rom would one suggest for stability and generally hassle free and prusuming the aforementioned probs, rebooting etc are still there what could i try to stop that? other than a debloated stock I found Lineage an excellent rom but still the problems got so bad the unit became unusable and was lucky not to go out the window. Im thinking do i start with a replacement battery and check the wires etc or could this still be a software issue??
if i endevoured to do the hardware myself would I attempt it by removing screen or the base for access to battery/connector??
Thanks again
In the tab s1 the best way is removing the back cover, but for some reason tab s2 seen to be the screen... at least in this guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Samsung+Galaxy+Tab+S2+Battery+Replacement/56616
Look like alot more complex than the s1 :/

does look somewhat OTT!!!

My guess is your issue is lack of charge in the device. That's the reason for the flashing failure and the reboot loop with the firmware error.
Bang it on charge for a while then irrespective of what it's doing, whether it's looping or not, hold POWER + HOME + VOL DOWN until download mode appears.
Reflash the stock firmware with odin.
swapped battery and reflashed stock via odin. It has helped although the issues are all still there its just they happen less frequently which doesnt mean its any less frustrating.
