Hey,
After upgrading to official froyo in India using MSU, I am facing several issues like:-
1)games like ninjump(used to work like a charm before) are now hanging.
2)no notification sound on plugging/unplugging charger.
3)sometimes touch doesn't respond while receiving calls.
4)task manager app is not showing installed apps.
5)phone seems laggy
Is anyone else also facing these issues?
Also, today motodefy is no longer listed under India at motorola update site although it was there till yesterday.
(I checked for Singapore. MotoDefy was selectable, but for Malaysia & Indonesia also there was no defy)
So does that mean that the Froyo was released just for testing? Same thing was done for USA guys as well. Moto released Froyo for limited period, took update & suggestions from users through forums & then released it officially after almost 2 Months.
Is this what is happening here?
When is the actual/ Final release date for India?
(Its still showing Planned in Q2 for APAC reason)
They probably removed from the official motorola site, probably because it has bugs and your phone operator knows that.
It happened here in Brazil also, for two of the main mobile operators.
It will probably come back in a few days. Worry not.
I had updated my defy to 2.2 India. Now sometimes when i recieve a call, my phone continues to vibrate even when I am talking and after disconnecting the phone I have to take out the battery to make it stop.
My phone also has CardioTrainer preinstalled after 2.2 update.

hmmm.. Yest I updated my defy to Froyo Indian version, So far I did not notice any issues, Everything seems to be okay, Though I faced some issues when I enabled InPocket detection The display used to go off when I was using the phone.. So I disabled it.. And I got a 100 points extra when I ran the Quadrant benchmark ;-)
did anyone try a factory reset?? Cause i read on some forums that all update bugs were gone after reset. For some users even the camera wasn't working
hi,
after the froyo 2.2.2 update in india I am having the following issue .
1. camera is taking video .But all pictures are coming black
2. earpiece volume seems to very very low after the update .
3. Getting the cracking noise in earpiece sometimes
4. fail in notification sound when putting charging and removing .
5. I also enabled the in pocket detection and then phone goes off while using .so turned it off
I will try factory update lets see
factory reset will solve it....
read somewhere that u shud do hard reset instead of factory rest......as factory rest colud not solve my problems!!
Selecting factory reset from the privacy settings menu doesn't format the cache or system memory as it does with the recovery.
Factory reset from recovery is a fresh start, as selecting the factory reset is more or less like doing a system restore on a Windows PC. It takes you back where you left off, but the data is still on the disk.
procedure for hard reset-
Turn phone off.
Wait 5-10 seconds.
Press and hold POWER and VOLUME DOWN keys until a screen appears with a "!" inside a triangle and a little android standing next to it.
Press both VOLUME keys at the same time to display the menu.
Using the VOLUME keys, navigate the menu to select Factory Reset/Wipe and make your selection with the POWER key.
Once the Factory reset is completed, navigate to Reboot System and make your selection with the POWER key.
Your phone should now be reset to factory settings.
no problem...
Mine is working fine after the update. no issue's, plus the battery performance has improved.. Its been two days after i have updated and i have checked all the functions thoroughly and all is good.

Mine is working fine.. Playing all the HD games without any lags as the same when the phone was in eclair version..
camera got fixed
hi,
After I made a factory setting my camera problem got sloved
no it no longer takes black picture.
But now the phone lags a lot of time . it also hangs during call ,
it also has no charging sound .motoblur widgets are unstable . all the same symptom as reported original post
what shall I do ?
Shall I Hard reset my phone .. or shall I take it to service centre for the downgrade to 2.1 .. anyone who got good results after hard reset procedure ???
please let us know ???
A hard reset is recommended. got better results after formatting the sd card together with a hard reset. Hard alone prior to this didn't help much.
However, some issues still persist like hanging up in google maps etc.

updated to new 2.3.3, now its all working fine
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106375
for ppl with this problem i would suggest to flash a new sbf on 2.2.2 preferable nordic edition.
trust me nothing will help to solve this cpu hangs and lags on sea15, instead for the time being update to other sbf ..if you want to take to warranty you can obviously flash the original sea15 sbf then.
All sea 15 users Try the new gingerbread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106375 (...i think all india users have red camera lens so you can "BINDASS" update...even for the green lens camera you can see the UI but cam will not work...)
now you can stop complaining about lags and hangs
No scene mode
There is no scene mode option in the camera.. any1 noticed it?
I think the "standard" step to follow when flashing a new rom is to wipe and factory reset, maybe that will help.
I seem to be one of the unique few owners of the green camera lens Defy in India. I have the official Froyo update for India. Battery life seems to have improved. But the Data Usage seems to have gone sky high with around 100MB a day!! Most of the Data seems to be hogged by the gallery. I wonder whats up with that.

Hey guys!
Sorry for the long post, I'm going to write down in one post the story of the phone, because I've had so many problems with it (probably because I'm an amateur) since day 1.
1. When I got my phone I had the usual problems, lagging interface, subpar battery life - I installed nova launcher, tried all the best, it was nearly ok.
2. When android 5.0 came out the phone by itself didn't offer it, however when I plugged it in the PC Suite said that there was new software available, so I installed it. This happened again with another update. The weird thing that after every update, when I switched on the phone it said something like 'the current version is not available for user, somethingsomething' as a notification, but I could easily press the side and it disappeared.
3. About a month ago my phone started going crazy. Firstly it overheated really fast. Secondly, which was much more annoying, it rebooted at random times. A week ago it started rebooting so often I could barely use it. I tried monitoring which apps they were, uninstalling but nothing changed.
4. For this reason I rooted, tried memory leak fix, tried greenify and amplify. The problem still persisted. So my thoughts were, that this must be a hardware issue (the reason I thought this, is because sometimes after rebooting it said it had below 20% battery, even if before rebooting it showed 60%).
5. I unrooted (I think I nearly bricked my phone), and put on stock TOT, so I can bring it back to the provider for a fix. Now it has android 4.4.1., the lagging interface is still there, the problems are just like at day 1. However there is no random rebooting, so its not hardware issue, so Im not rushing to my provider (they take a month and dont give substitute phone).
I tried software update again (I'm european d855), but it said there werent any new software available. I would like to have lollipop.
Please can someone explain why it was overheating and how I can have a stable and rock solid android 5.0 on my phone with normal battery life and without lagging interface? I would love to love this phone but it makes my job very difficult
Thank you in advance!
Have you tried any custom ROM?
Just curious to see how people are finding the new Oreo for the S7/S7 edge. For me, it's great. Definitely I do see an improvement in performance. Sluggishness is definitely reduced from what I was experiencing in Nougat. Battery life appears to be the same, if not a bit better, but it's hard to tell.
Only issue I've seen is some apps I have are not Oreo ready (such as the previous Power Amp beta, but there is an Alpha out right now that works but is very incomplete in things such as Playlists).
I have noticed that some apps no longer give notifications at all (mainly games with in-app notifications). Not sure if it's because they're not up-to-snuff with Oreo, but the important apps (such as Messenger+) do work just fine in regards to notifications.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this release which in all honesty will probably be the last upgrade for this phone. I still love my S7 and hope it lasts a long time for me.
This update is fantastic as far as I'm concerned. My phone seems to be more responsive and doesn't lag as much as it did on Nougat. Battery life has been better since the update. Somehow my fingerprint scan to unlock is 1,000 times better. Was always having issue with it before this update. I am also getting slightly better reception. I get slightly better reception in my office area where I previously had little to no reception. I like how some of the items in the pull down notification shade are compacted like your Wi-Fi connection, so they don't take up as much room. Feels like I have a new phone, and I also hope this last major update we will get will help my S7 last for a long time.
I agree, much snappier. I not having to keep putting down apps and restarting to keep it that way either. It makes my s7 a keeper for another year at least. None of the new features really apply to the way I use my device, so no difference there for me.

Adaptive icons suck. Had to download an icon pack to return all of the Google apps to "normal". Bright white circles in my dark theme....
Other than that, I'll have to mess around more before I see if there's been much change. Haven't really noticed more responsiveness.
one word. HORRIBLE! Battery life has literally been cut by 40-60% with the exact same use as before even with power saver on, weird lag issues when I'm trying to multitask, incoming calls wont take precedence over whatever else is currently on screen, screen wont light up on incoming calls when idle, VZW caller id no longer works on unknown calls, fingerprint unlock no longer works just keeps saying "wipe home key and try again", while talking on the phone if the other person gets another call i now hear it ringing on my side and this is just after 2 days...... worst update ever to what was a flawlessly performing device. Wondering if I need to do a factory reset and start fresh

A factory reset would be a good place to start, especially after a major update.
I did the full reset with the Odin package and it is very smooth with better battery life, even with battery saver off.

it took 5 tries but I was finally able to get it to wipe/reset, kept giving me a "system update failed, no recovery package found" error. Resetting it seems to have cured the battery, heat and lag issues and is running smoothly again, only issue I still have is a slight delay in waking the phone on incoming calls but I can live with that

Glad it's working now. Were you rooted and/or modified any of the default system apps? That can cause issues as well. I haven't rooted the S7 ever since I first got it over 1.5 years ago because I never had the need to. It's always been pretty good and stable except Nougat. It started out fine, but as time went on it got progressively worse. I didn't have to do a factory reset and so far, Oreo has been a dream come true.
People's mileage will vary depending on their use and any mods they may have done to their phones. Also, remember that not all apps are written to Oreo specs. Whenever there is a major upgrade, certain APIs and other programming techniques that might have worked (or been allowed to happen) under older versions of Android may now be no longer allowed. That can result in apps misbehaving under Oreo and thereby causing the symptoms you see (battery drain, sluggishness, etc). That's why it's always best to see if any apps you have installed have been updated to work correctly with Oreo.
Another option would have been to uninstall apps one by one to see if things improved after they were removed. At that point, you have found your culprit.
I usually do an update of all apps before doing an upgrade because a lot of devs will push out updates to make their apps conform to the next Android version's standards. That has usually allowed me to avoid any issues. Problem is, not all apps are kept up-to-date because the developer has moved on to other things, etc. But, if any apps that haven't been updated in a long time are still on after I upgrade, I usually would remove those first and that usually cured my ills. But, it is rare that I have the problem because I usually don't keep old, stale apps around. I'm a stickler for that for some reason.
In any case, glad you got it working!

I had no problem at all updating. Went real smooth. My battery has better life and the heat/battery/lag/slow boot are so much betterer. The only things I miss is dolby and viper for sound quality being non rooted. I listen to a lot of music and now have to use an old rooted S5 for my music. Thank you for the release. I've only had it installed for a day and if I notice any issues I will post

Awful, but to be fair, the phone has been horrible for several months now. Did the update to Oreo first, but phone was slow. Decided to do a factory data reset and start fresh with Oreo. It was a little bit better, but not great. Then I installed the g930vvrs4crg2 update and it got worse. Last try before smashing this phone is to Odin back to fresh Oreo, then install the latest update. Hopefully that helps.

Hi,
I would like to create this thread to mention the problems and issues with the update of Android 10 for Nokia 6.1 and we can share some solution for those.
From experience, after doing an OS update, it would be best to make a backup and then a total restart
Buggs with Android 10 on Nokia 6.1 :
- Noise in Audio
- Sometimes UI laggs
- Google Camera work only one every device restart
- Random self restart
- Can't adjust Equalizer

Hello, due to the refusal in this update (Android 10) I have decided not to update, I am still in Android 8 (Oreo), I am doing the right thing ?? ... this team sent it to me two months ago, it is new .. the battery lasts a long time, I do not feel lag or anything, which you advise, on the other hand what is the GCAM version for Oreo? and it is also possible to be able to update to AndroidPie (9) through some file, etc ...
greetings colleagues
JC
Edit: nothing
Same bug here: The black screen is still happening (any time I open or unlock my phone, it's screen is black, then my usual stuff shows up)
I also have the error, every time I start my Nokia 6.1 the data is automatically activated, what is this? HDM Nokia please as well as we trust to buy this device we need to solve all the inconveniences in Android10, it is worth mentioning: In Android9 Pie noooooooooooooooo this happened!

Since I updated to Android 10 OTA Update,my Nokia 6.1 is experiencing frequent restarts whenever I try to attend a call or play a video or audio.I posted my this problem in this forum. But nobody didn't help me. So I went to the Nokia Service Centre and requested them to downgrade the Firmware to Android 9.On examining the phone they informed me the battery has become weak. That is why the frequent restart occurs when try to attend a call or play video or audio. The weak battery is because of O T A Update to Android 10.Many such complaints have come to them. So I have to replace the battery now.Anyway I got a new battery and Firmware is got downgraded to Android 9 and they charged me RS.1300.What a horrible experience with Nokia and also with the Nokia 6.1 forum users!!!
Not at all stable to use as daily driver.
1 - No notifications after some times when the phone is ideal you have to open the app, like they are in deep sleep. gave all permissions like auto start, battery restriction none, no data restrictions.
2 - Bluetooth earphones gets disconnected randomly, usually when you lock unlock the device.
3 - Wifi speed degrade when you use Bluetooth and wifi at the same time.
4 - whatsapp video call are still lagging, connecting issue, other phones on the same network works fine.
5 - Battery backup degraded by at least 30%
6 - camera quality is noticeably degraded.
7 - fast charging not working with tbe official charger as well
and there are many more.
please post your work around for this bugs, it will be helpful as xiaomi is not going to launch any update sooner looking at ter track records.
I think you need to do a factory reset.
Battery is exactly the same for me as Android 9.
Camera quality is the same too.
Fast charging works for me with default charger.
Don't know about the rest.

Already did reset 3 times, thought my old google backup setting is the issue, even after setting up without restoring the backup this issues are there, specially the notification, Bluetooth and wifi issue.
I didn't noticed that many problems like you, only the battery performance lost, I went from 10 hours of screen on time, to around 6-7, factory reset from recovery didn't help, but that was enough reason for me to dare to unlock the bootloader, so I went back to MIUI 11.0.3 based on android 9, now I have my 10 hours of screen on time and I'm more than happy, the only feature I miss from android 10, was the wifi dynamic MAC address
So have you downgraded back to android 9
Can you please help me how to do so
Can't we download android 9 package from mi website and install as package in update settings?

2 - this was not there before day i switched to andorid 10 even after reseting 2 times i am facing this issue

4 - tried telegram duo, even the calls are not coming. forget about mesgs.

I'm in last version and Android 10 but don't have any of this problems in my phone! Performance is better than Android 9 and everything is fine! You must do a factory reset to fix this problems.
I am also on android 10 on the indian variant and I can confirm that the 1st issue which is about no notifications after some time is happening to me also. Although I don't know about the rest. About charging and battery backup, I think it is same as before.

I'm only facing the notification issue mentioned in the tread. Everything same, miui 11.0.2 android 10. All settings tested. Also tried pnf app. No use. Another symptom is when I open WhatsApp all the messages are delivered only then. Have allowed it to run in background, disabled power saving, all notification allowed, auto start permission given.
anyone noticing bluetooth mac is changed to 00:00:46:00:00:01?
maybe this causing the bluetooth disconnection issue?
I just noticed it on both of my RN8pro running Indonesian fw Android 10.
Mine upgraded yesterday throught OTA to MIUI 11.0.4(QGGIXM)/Andorid 10.
I came from the Andoird 9 and everything was good, but after the upgrade my GPS in Dual Space and Second Space can´t lock my postion.
Tried to hard reset 3 times and reflashed this ROM manualy and nohing. I still have the bootloader locked and can´t downgrade now.
I made some tests using app GPS test, in te upper screen is the "normal" app and in the bottom s the dual app that can´t lock the GPS, same thing happens in the second space.
After search a lot, people say that is better to downgrade, so anyone have this issue here or a solution for it?

I can confirm the wifi/BT bug, and it sucks!
How does Xiaomi get the feedback on this bugs? Is there still testing even though this is the "stable" version?

Have you tried factory reset?
I have same issue, WiFi speed is horrible when I have my headphones connected.

No, not yet. It is a pain and I will do it if it is really necessary, I'm not sure if that would work. Anyway I saw the link that someone posted earlier that this kind of interference is a common problem; I never new about it or noticed it. On my PC there is some slowing down also, but not as dramatic as on the RN8P.

So basically it is common problem for all phones or even all device's?
Is it worse on A10 that on A9?

It is very common (if you use 2.4GHz WiFi); you'd need beamforming to get over it. But not all devices are the same - it depends on device quality and antenna separation (for example, laptops with Intel/Killer wifi modules are much less affected by it, while Raspberry Pis are having serious trouble doing both at the same time).
Of course, this only applies in 2.4GHz. Switch to 5GHz, and you'll have no more problems.
When to do factory reset? After updating or before updating?
