No caller ID on lock screen anymore - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

When my phone rings I would like it to show the contact information like the phone number. It no longer does this. I think it changed with the upgrade to OneUI 3. I would like to see the number of who is calling me from lock screen, even with Do Not Distru turned on.

Maybe it's an upgrade brake.

OneUI 3.0 isn't stable, lots of users are having issues after updating their devices. Not only with S20's but S10's as well. Can't understand why Samsung hasn't scrubbed this update, it makes no sense.

Stop Text Messages Appearing on Lock Screen

Is it possible to stop text messages flashing up at the top of the screen as I would rather not have personal texts read by colleagues etc when I am away from my desk at work. I see nothing in settings to allow you to stop this..
Doubt it. Why not take the phone with you when you leave your desk?
Why don't just take the phone with you?
Also I don't think your txt would show up on the lock screen, just a number for missed calls and unread txt. If it did indeed show up then I'm sure you can disabled it in the settings.

Just tested it on my Samsung Omnia 7 and it flashes up the first line of the text message at the top of the screen even when the screen is locked. I think this is a basic privacy issue and there should be an option to not display it as there was in windows 6.5
I often walk to a colleagues desk for a couple of minutes why should I have to take my phone everywhere?? I also demonstrate things to colleagues at my desk and I dont want personal texts being viewed by other people. I dont think this is unreasonable and should be fixed quickly as I know it would put many people off.
Is there a forum where these issues can be flagged to microsoft to fix in a future release.

I agree. This is not an unreasonable request. Hopefully support will be added for it.

HTC has given a powerful device without the characteristics and potential

I have purchased a device, one X, but I did not see features in the system impressive when seen on the subject of galaxy S3 See some of the properties that characterize the system ((i say the system and not the device)) my question for programmers and developers you can add features that our system beloved of (one x) and such
1 Property of lock the device (which is linked to eye)
2 Feature video calling(
It's supposed to be present because the camera front available)
3 Face to open the device footprint
And many things I do not remember
It is well known that the device (OneX) features a powerful Hardware
But I do not see anything useful on the system
You need the Samsung eye sensor hardware to use the screen on feature. There are apps for video calling. I didn't know HTC removed face unlock but it should be in most of the dev os. Sense is not going to grow much on this so if you need Samsung then sell before it drops value any further.
My one x has face unlock, go to settings then security then screen lock and pick face unlock.

There is a new property which is not mentioned when the arrival of a new message and the message you want to contact the owner all played by the lifting device directly at the ear and it will automatically connect to the owner of the message
samsung only. just tap the persons name at the top of the message and hit the green call button

Video calling IS available. You just need an app like Skype or Fring. Do note that carriers are moving away from "video calls" and are servicing video calls through your 3g data connection instead. Years ago, phone plans included credit for calls, sms and VIDEO calls. They don't do that anymore. It's all through your data plan/Wi-Fi now.

Very gimmicky. Just like Facetime and Siri, it's something that will rarely be used outside of the first week/month.

I think Samsung has people hypnotized. I mean seriously, your hands are already on the phone working in either a contact, e-mail, or text. So how difficult is it to press the dial key or long press and then the dial key? They slap a name (Direct Dial) on holding the phone to your ear instead and people are awe struck. And what is it going to do if there are four numbers listed for a contact? By the time it asks you which one you want and to confirm pressing the dial key would have been faster.
I'm curious to see what kind of battery life the phone gets. Keeping all these sensors active 24/7 waiting to detect movement or watch you blink has to take a toll on battery life. That and S-Voice constantly listening in case you say something.
Don't get me wrong, some of the soft features their introducing are cool; but they're not life changing (to me). I had Vlingo and it was neat but I never used it and activating the listen feature just killed the battery in the i9100.

Weird Quirks on my Moto 360

Hey everyone.
So I am the proud new owner of the (admittedly old) Moto 360.
After receiving it yesterday I feverishly connected it to my phone, synced everything and all was going great, and it still is.
One thing that is happening that I can't figure out, though, is this blank Google Now card showing up every hour or so. Besides from the Google logo the card is completely blank, even when swiping up to show more information. Swiping left gives you options like "More from Google" and "Open on Phone".
Does anyone else experience this? For the record my phone is the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 (MT7-TL10 Gold model).
Another quirk is that smart lock does not work, as I have to input my password / scan my fingerprint every time I switch on my device, regardless of whether I'm connected to the watch or not. It isn't really a major inconvenience, as I literally never use the power button or screen for unlocking, as the fingerprint reader is so quick and convenient. This could very well just be a case of Huawei software not playing along (I'm replacing this phone soon purely because of the crappy bastardized Android), however I'm curious to know if anyone else has this problem?
Cheers! :good:

Hardware issue or just a bug with ZUI?

I just tried turning on the 'Show surface update' option under 'Developer Options'. The screen flashes randomly even if I just keep the screen on without touching or doing anything with the phone.
I have a Xperia T2 Ultra, and if I try the same thing, the screen will only flash if I touch the screen, it doesn't flash the screen randomly like the ZUK Z2 does.
Is it happening to everyone on Stock Nougat ROM or just me? I am mainly concerned with the touch sensitivity of the phone, cause sometimes I feel, I'm missing out some screen swipes.
Any advice or suggestions?
I don't think the 'Show surface updates' setting is actually intended to show when the screen is touched. I believe it is used to indicate when the content of the screen changes; for example it might flicker if one of the icons in your statusbar changes like mobile/Wi-Fi signal strength or the clock. I guess the option you're actually thinking about is the one which says 'Show taps' under the Input heading, which displays a spot on the screen when the display panel is touched. (I don't know whether this is available in ZUI since i'm running AEX 4.5)

Thank you for the reply. Whatever you said makes complete sense. But the issue is, I have got few Android phones running kitkat, lollipop and marshmallow, these devices only shows surface update on statusbar area if I don't touch the screen. In Z2's case it flashes the complete screen randomly and frequently, I tried leaving it in settings, a picture opened in full screen etc, but same result.
I don't mind if it's a bug with the ROM, I can flash a custom ROM. But if it's caused by a hardware issue, mostly related to touch, then I'm planning to send the device back for repair or replacement. Just going to be 1 week since I bought this device.
Any suggestions?

I don't think there's anything to be worried about. I actually upgraded to a new phone today, and so flashed the Indian version of ZUI (2.5.104 ST) back onto my ZUK Z2 in preparation for selling it on Gumtree. (Which is the British equivalent of Craigslist, for those in the US) I had chance to test what you were talking about and sure enough, the same thing happens on mine; where the entire screen will occasionally flicker even with an image displayed in fullscreen, so that the statusbar icons are hidden. So unless you are noticing any actual problems whilst using the device, I don't believe there's anything to be concerned about at this stage.

Thanks a lot for checking it out for me, really do appreciate it. Was getting increasingly worried about this issue. You are a lifesaver. Thank you again :highfive:

Full screen In Call Caller ID wanted....

It has always been a preference of mine to have a full screen image when calling someone. Rewind back some years, I believe maybe the Hyoerdrive ROMs time period and this was the norm. I believe it's similar to what appears on iPhone during a call. Basically the full screen background is the contact pic of the person you are talking with. There was a mod available on XDA for my Note 8 I believe which dropped off with an OS update to Android 9 or so. I never have understood why Samsung keeps the contact pic so small, even when the sizes of the phones increased. Now, with the latest Android 11 and Samsung UI 3.0 update, there is an option to make a pic or video the background when making calls. So while this is heading the right direction, it's still not exactly there.
Anyone in the themeing world have any insight into this, as far as the capability to provide a full screen in call caller ID image as the background?
