So my bs3 (chinese rom) has been freezing up since the update to joyui12. every now and again the phone will become non responsive and then say system ui has crashed. I would love to factory reset the phone but they wont let me without the mi account which I dont have because I dont have a chinese phone number and it wont accept my credentials without one. So Im basically stuck with a phone that is barely a year old that is unreliable. Cant even say I will sell the phone over because it wont let me factory reset it to wipe my data from it. I was trying before to do the switch to global rom but I cant figure that part out either. Can anyone help me?

Hi everyone,
So I have an issue where my phone will show the google logo on boot, but will not load beyond that . Just Keeps rebooting and getting stuck on the google logo screen. I am on Rogers in Canada . Is there anyway to fix this problem and recover the data without needing to factory reset? I am on 4.0.1
Thanks so much guys.
And did this just randomly happen? Or was this after doing something notable?
I was just browsing in browser on wifi.
If you already unlocked the bootloader there may be a way to recover your data. If you have not, sorry, there is no way to access anything on your phone anymore because the only recovery is a full wipe.
You have a hardware problem. Even if your phone functions after a full wipe it will probably do this again in a few days, weeks, etc. Take it in for warranty. I had this problem too, recurring about four times, until I finally stopped it with a warranty exchange.
Thanks for the info. What is recommended as backup tools to allow for me to restore data on the phone (from apps and photos) so that if in the future this happens again, I can retrieve the above data from a refurbished phone?
Hi all!
First of all thanks for your work..it's awesome!!thanks to you i enjoyed my s plus until some days ago it has broken..very sad day
However i decided to move on with a more modern cel, so i decided for a s4 mini.
But since the beginning i've had lot of problems..
My phone after an original update from samsung started to freeze and reboot..more and more often..i read it could be an issue with original update so i decided to mod my phone since i've had great improvements with my old s plus..
first i installed cm11 but the phone keep rebooting and rebooting ..so i installed cm12 with android l..but the problem is still here!!
the more my phone became hot the more it reboot..it's unusable and i don't know what to do..i'm also begin to doubt it's a hw problem
my warranty is gone with all this mods..so what to do? any others has this kind of problem?
thanks if yo want to answer
People encountering this should perform a factory reset and wipe everything from the phone.
Then, perform a clean install of whichever rom you wish to use, without any additional apps.
I recently encountered an issue with Apex Launcher and a recent update. Android keep crashing and soft rebooting often.. only after a few days did I realise the launcher was the issue. Since I uninstalled the app the phone hasnt restarted once!
Mine restarts after i turn on Mobile Data + GPS for navigation..
It works for a minute and restarts.
I don't know where the problem is either. I tried to flash cm10, 11.. stock 4.2 / 4.4 and nothing seems to get me rid of the problem
So about a few years ago, I tried to root my galaxy note 4 (n910aucu2doi3), but I guess it rejected the root because it instantly bricked my phone, to the point where I had to completely wipe it using android recovery. The only way to get my operating system back was to download it online and install it through my PC (I had to find the exact version for my phone as well, 5.1.1 at the time, because it rejected every single other version).
Everything seemed to be working fine, except that I couldn't install software updates on my phone anymore. It was permanently stuck on 5.1.1. It was a bit of an annoyance but I didn't think much of it at the time.
Fast forward to now, and I'm getting several signs that my OS may be corrupted. My phone is constantly freezing, crashing and restarting. Maneuvering through applications causes the phone to freeze for a few seconds before either restarting or crashing the app. I want to say it's definitely a software issue, but I did install a new battery recently and it was working fine for a few weeks, could that be the issue?
If not, I want to start over, but I'm not sure how, and I don't know if it's safe to do a factory reset on this OS. Is there anyway I can get a fresh stock version of an android OS that can also update?
Any help is appreciated, I'm pretty much desperate.
I manually updated to 6.0.1 with the help of this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-att/general/updates-thread-t3663943
It seems to have fixed the issues so far, and my phone can automatically update again
hi yesterday night the phone downloaded itself and installed miui13. In addition, the new miui has a lot of bugs, one incredibly big one touched me. Namely, I cant place calls to numbers that I have never called before. The only place I can call is to people whom I have already called, and when I want to call a new person, the call is interrupted after a second. This is a big problem for me because I need a phone at work and now it is useless. I tried to upload a custom rom, but with every try and guide on youtube, when I am already at the "fastboot" stage and connect my phone to my computer, the miflash-unlock application doenst see it. In addition when he wants to downgrade miui to version 12, the phone sends a message that it isnt possible. I manually downloaded the current miui13 overlay and reinstalled with the thought that reinstalling it would fix something, but I was wrong. So my current situation is that I can't make new connections and install a custom rom (unless I'm still doing something wrong but I've watched a few hours of tutorials) and I can't install the miui12 overlay either. Maybe someone is able to help me fix my current miui13 overlay or install an older one? Phone hard reset didnt help either.
I need help with my Poco f3. Ever since I updated my OS to Miui 13, my phone keeps rebooting every time I open any applications. Sometimes I can open them, but the phone still reboots randomly. I tried everything, did factory resets, and wiped out all the data, thinking it would solve the problem, but it did not. I also tried to downgrade to Miui 12.5, but I can't do so because I cannot unlock my phone. It says it needs 168 hours before unlock. My phone is very unusable right now, and I don't know what else to do but wait 168 hours/7 days to unlock my phone and install a new ROM. Is there any other way I can do to resolve this issue?
I have the exact same problem, I tried several solutions on the internet but nothing worked.
Every night my phone starts restarting nonstop. I'm waiting until Monday to finally unlock my bootloader, install an AOSP and never hear from MIUI again.

Take it to service if it's unusable... If you're from a third world country there's a good chance they will downgrade the phone on the spot , if no you'll probably have couple days of downtime without phone
Other than that yeah nothing - except if you can find newer version you should be able to flash it from the miui updater. I'd personally do a factory reset first - then update via method below and after upgrade factory reset again! If that doesn't fix it idk, you'll have to determine whether flashing full ROM once BL is unlocked fixes it or if you should go and have the motherboard replaced...
You have to first enable "developer options" of the miui updater app , download the update firmware that's higher version than what you're on and then you can select the firmware in the app
Update: Fixed this by switching to ArrowOs, it seems that miui really is the problem haha
I believe it doesn't have anything to do with schedule turn on turn off? On miui you could schedule the phone to turn off at anytime and turn on anytime according to the settings...
