Don't see the One UI 3 update on my S20+ - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Hi all,
I recently bought an unlocked S20+ from the Samsung store and am using it on T-mobile. I have been trying to check the "software update" but I can't seem to be getting the new One UI 3 update to show up. Do i need to wait for T-mobile to release/push it since i'm on the t-mobile network or should the unlocked version get the update directly from Samsung ?

Just be patient, it will come in december.

I'd like to know the same thing, an unlocked phone on Verizon who will my update come from?

thanks much for the info. So i suppose its just a matter of waiting. It will be good to see where my update is coming from eventually - Samsung or T-mobile.

I have the S20 Ultra direct from a Sprint (now TMobile) store with firmware TK2 and still see no update to One UI 3.0 even though they have been saying for a whole week now that it's rolling out. Seems more like a smoked bee crawling out of cold honey. I even tried the stupid Smart Switch on the Windows desktop and it says there is no update. But yes there is, people are already getting it, so obviously there is. Surely there must be a file you can download from somewhere to do it manually?
EDIT: Looks like there is a program called "TMobile Network Experience" that would give me a SIm swap that would immediately upgrade me to Android 11. I also ready that people are simply swapping in TMobile sim cards, updating to Android 11 and then swapping back in their Sprint sim cards, and apparently that works great. So now the question becomes, can you safely download that TMobile ROM for the S20 variant in question and flash it yourself to your S20? If a simple tmobile SIM card swap upgrades the phone to the TMobile version, it seems all you would really need is that tmobile ROM download.
EDIT2: Just spoke to a Sprint store manager and they are giving out free TMobile Network Experience SIM cards and confirmed that my S20 Ultra will get the Android 11 update almost immediately after doing so. Those SIM cards are free too. So that is one way of forcing the update for us Sprint customers.

Well my S20+ is on a T-mobile SIM and i'm still waiting for the update. Also it seems like T-mobile has paused the rollout - no specific reason cited so far so looks like it might be a while.
It's funny i moved from a Pixel 3 to S20+ and went backwards in software.

You'll get the update from Samsung, when they release the U1 version, not when T-Mobile releases theirs. T-Mobile rolled back the update due to issues, so when they approve the new release, the U1 will receive it shortly thereafter.

vs.
Spec wise both phones are identical
the only real difference is that one has the t-mobile & Samsung logo in the front, and the other only has the Samsung logo
the tmo version also has a tmo customized boot animation, the telus version is plain samsung boot animation
tmo verison has extra tmo broadware apps, the telus version has only one extra broatware (Groupon)
which would you go for?
will you pay the extra $ for the unbranded version?
The one with bloatware crap that might get WiFi calling at some point.
I like the telus one less branding and bigger space to press the capacitive buttons. The Bloat can be removed with root. I wonder when samsung going to drop source code for this phone. Sprint and At&t already versions already have source code slightly before phones come out. Android police and engadget have already reviewed the tmobile samsung galaxy 2.
Why not just wait on the HD version of the phone? Although I'm not sure when that will be out.

the HD version is not AWS compatible
Hmm well do you really want to pay $150 more for the branding because everything else will go away when rooted

Save the extra dough and put it towards something else to play with and go for the Tmo version.

wow, if it weren't for the galaxy note coming out, I would definitely get the T-mobile version.
Really good pricing
go with the Tmobil version!!
People are saying the battery life is the worst on the t-mobile galaxy 2. I think its all that badly programmed bloatware on that phone. Also the phone is taking in lte speeds which means the phone uses more power to pull in data. It shows to say lte is over hyped. I think the adreno 220 is overclocked in this phone as well.
Good thing you can usually turn 4g off...
root will be around fast enough ...hell if they can unlock a phone on this site before the actual compny that produces it can i think root will be attainable in no time. save the money and get the tmo version. you can always call tmobile and have it unlocked for free

But hspa+ is 3g so if you turn it off you get edge. Ironically edge speeds on tmobile are faster than at&t 3g speeds.

is it safe to use Note 7 Hongkong Version SM-N9300?

Today Samsung requested all the Samsung Note 7 Owners to Switch off their phone and stop using it.
I have a Note 7 Hongkong version SM-N9300, Which has a Green Battery and the Faulty Tests shows that my phone is NOT among the Affected ones.
My Question is "IS IT SAFE TO USE MY PHONE NOW?

As far as I know the actual recall is currently in the US only (Not Australia, according to Samsung. I asked them) however I'd guess it's going to be worldwide very soon. And this includes all the replacement ones that were deemed "safe".
So, your Note 7 will /probably/ be recalled soon enough. Nobody can tell if your phone is safe though. Impossible to know.

All would include you but it's your choice.

Samsung Hong Kong just announced earlier for all people with HK Note 7s to stop using and return the phone. To be honest, the potential battery problem ALWAYS included China and HK phones, Samsung's HK and China divisions were just shady as hell and kept selling on September 2 when Samsung headquarters first announced they made a huge mistake. Samsung HK has been getting killed online by people for weeks for seemingly apathy. I'm surprised they acted so soon this time to echo what the rest of the world is doing.
so long story short, no, your HK note is included in the call for return. All note 7s are. the phone is done.
Well my Note 7 is perfectly fine. The battery and everything is perfectly fine. NO HEAT ISSUE. i am trying to contact the person who sold it to me to check what the supplier stand on this.
Anyways thanks everyone.
I just wonder the problem is not the battery but rather the processor.
The one in China are not exynos which produce more heat
The Recall is GLOBAL, as in INTERNATIONAL. NO SAMSUNG NOTE 7 IS SAFE! RETURN IT!
Seems to me this forum is frequented by Samsung-haters and/or trolls.

I am still running Build AQGL and reading all the negative posts on here about the last few updates. I think I will just stay on this build. Still gonna call the big V and be put on the do not ever bother list.
It's funny they try to scare you into updating your phone. I have never ever had an issue with calling out.
well good luck not being able to make calls to certain devices. I can't understand why you wouldn't want to be informed of OS issues like this. suit yourself.

Funny I don't have issues... If I did I would just go back to using my rooted Moto X Pure anyway or the Note 4. I always have a few phones to use on standby.
Plus there are alot of negitive posts about the updates and people wanting to flash back so why take the update. I don't see a reason.
Don't try to fix what's not broke. So far my S8+ is doing well other than we can't unlock the bootloader and root.
I will move on to another device before long that is. :good:
:silly:
Another reason not to update... You do these updates and all Verizon does is put more crap apps on your phone... I would never buy a branded verizon phone again. unlocked is the only way to go.
Then you don't get to ***** when the tides are turned and the unlocked versions are the last ones to get any kind of update on them. Cause lately that's what I've been seeing...the unlocked versions may not have any "carrier bloat" but they are SO FAR behind in updates (Security or OS updates)

Don't really care about updates... If the phone works I leave it alone!!
If I was worried about it I would go back to rooting and do the custom ROM thing again.

Note 10 Plus 5G

Hello,
Long time lurker here.
I've recently purchased a Note 10 Plus 5G from Vodafone UK which I've unlocked. I've inserted my O2 UK 5G enabled sim card in it and it wont pick up 5G although I am in a 5G area. Tested on a S10 5G and it works fine.
Any idea what the issue is?

What CSC is the phone on?
Hey,
Thanks for replying.
It's on VOD although should that affect it? The S10 5G is on EVR.

I'm just guessing honestly but in theory the hardware should all be the same whichever UK carrier it's from. EVR is EE, no real connection to O2 but it is a difference.
You do have 5G enabled right? (see screenshot)
Btw, certain power saving modes can turn off 5G, too.
Its enabled and works when I have a Vodafone sim in the phone which is on CSC VOD. The minute put the O2 sim card in it drops to 4G and wont budge.
As I said when I use the S10 5G which is EVR its fine. Oddly when I tried to reflash the S10 5G to BTU it defaulted to TEL in Oz. I had to flash it back to EVR firmware which luckily is a single CSC firmware.
I'm within the first 10 days of having the Note 10+ and it wont allow me to unlock the OEM to reflash. I'm a little apprehensive to do it in case the CSC defaults to something strange like TEL and I cant flash back to VOD as it's a multiple CSC firmware and I could end up on VD1 and I might lose 5G completely.
There's a Samsung service centre in town, I might drop in and see if they can help...

I think speaking in store with Samsung will be your best bet.
BTW just wanted to be clear, you don't have to OEM unlock to flash firmware with odin and if you OEM unlock you lose warranty.

I'll see what they say, might be by design?
I thought the frequency that O2 and Vodafone UK for 5G was the same?

IS there anyway to downgrade boot loader note 10 plus n975f

Is there any solution to my problem. IMEI showing fine and when I check status by #*1234# and its showing status NG. I want to get come back the call option to make calls please help me if there any solutions. I have tried chimera and it says unsupported modem try to install different firmware. My humble request to XDA developer to look at it and get back to me with a solution, would be a genius act.

All the stuff you mention sounds really shady, as all demo units are not to be used as regular ones, in other words, the demo units are issued to carriers and official distributors, and never intended to be sold to public, thence, having one is not normal, no help will be offered here, as it is illegal in most countries to tamper IMEI numbers, which is a common practice with stolen and red flagged devices, next time gather enough money to buy a legal device
@ farhan_ali790 - Some things you have been saying within regards to this phone are quite unsettling. Either your mistaking what phone you really have, a communication/detail issue, or you got the phone second hand and this is the way it was when you got it.
Either way the following will be of interest:
If you have a demo phone then it should not work on the cellular network. Those are for demonstration purposes so people can see what the phone looks like, see how the screen looks and get a chance to use the apps on it. For this reason the phone was made in such a way that the ability to connect to the cellular network will not work. If you truly and really do have a demo phone then it will not be able to access the cell network.
If your claim is you have a demo phone and that it is showing (or had the IMEI number changed/patched to show) as a N975F and your talking about a patched IMEI number then sorry, but your most likely out of luck here. The discussions of tampering or altering an IMEI number are not allowed due to such actions being illegal in a lot of places. Contact the person whom patched the IMEI for you for help on this one.
It has been mentioned numerous times that flashing a bootloader higher then what is currently on the phone is a one way street. You can not downgrade the bootloader. Please take the time to do some research on the subject if you have further questions on it.
