Hard Bricked Phone - anything to fix it? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Nexus 5x 32gb LG-H790, and the device won't turn on at all. I installed LG drivers, and now it shows Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008. I'm not sure what I can do to unbrick this, but if anyone has any advice or guides to follow I would so greatly appreciate it! I've tried a few of the others I've come across Googling my issue, but to no avail. I';m guessing those are to solve slightly different issues.
Any advice or help would be so greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

So you hard bricked your phone too. I know it sucks

Then go to a technician and just say it stopped working and doesn't "open".
Don't refer to Rooting/XDA/Hard bricking AT ALL and they will most likely replace
it with a new one.

But don't actually do it if you have modified your phone in any way it may be illegal idk

[Q] [Q&A] D855 soft bricked, stuck at beta Android 5

HI guys, I need help from some caritative soul please!! I'm desperate.
Some of you might have already read about my case: I rushed, last weekend, to flash one of the beta Lollipop versions that hanged around (v19h); I only flashed bootloader and rom.
Now, my phone does not boot to LAF (download mode), nor recovery (TWRP) anymore, because of those not being signature-compatible with new bootloader.
And, since I am obviously not rooted, I am stuck to this version, unable to get out: I can't flash KDZ, or flashable zip on recovery.
Today, I have tried literally EVERYTHING suggested on XDA.. with no luck....
I am basically stuck with a extremely expensive paperweight... any ideas to help me?
RIght now, my only choice is to return it to insurance/warranty, but... what could I possibly say? .. They might laugh at me when they see the Android 5.0 version screen....
Any kind of ideas will be extremely appreciated... Thanks!
Attempts I already tried without luck:
* Flash new/old KDZ or TOT with Flashtool
* Flash new/old KDZ or TOT with Flashtool 2014
* Any ADB attempt
* Any fastboot attempt
* The dreaded RED 2? ...

The best advice I can give to you is that if no solutions become available to you, depending on the warranty, I would water damage the phone so the warranty does not reject your claim. Otherwise you may have to play the waiting game until developers create a solution.

Are G3 phone OEM warrantied for water damage?
Water-damaging the phone is a risky way to go. I was under the impression that water-damage is not covered, especially since most phones even have a moisture-indicator strip on the motherboard for detecting it. Even if it was covered, what if they do reject warranty due to any reason(including software tampering?). You'll actually end up with an expensive brick then. Atleast now you have a working(albeit buggy) phone.
I'll suggest to wait till the devs can find some way to help you. Was going to suggest you try the Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 mode method but it looks like you've already tried that.
Hi, I have the exactly same problem. But after some digging i found this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660566 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2345860
I think that is a long shot, but if somebody provide "debrick image" - (following istructions from the top of the thread) from their D855 devices with lollipop firmware (19h or 20A) it can be worth a try.
Sorry for my english.

LG would not warrantied the phone if its waterproof. They specifically asked you if you crack your screen or has been water damaged. If you do, you either pay a hefty price ($150) or they can refuse to fix it.

Many thanks! I believe my phone passed the test. It still recognizes my phone as QHSUSB and it doesn't power up, enter recovery nor boot anything.
Do you have any tip to what to do?

[Q] Hard Bricked S I I I

Greetings,
As you can already tell from the listing on this post, I have hard bricked my S III,
I accidently hard bricked my SIII, by mistaking flashing a international rom, In the description of the rom it even stated it WAS
for my model of phone. They Lied....
Anyways, I done some research and came across a few ways of debricking it, None of which seem to be working. Although I am able to
Get a red charge light on my phone when I plug it into my computer with the battery out. Also, I am unable to Boot into Recovery or Download Mode.
Can you please help me.

Yes, I am having problems finding the correct JTag jig. I have looked for ones that are for Galaxy S III's but none seem to be working with the SPH-L710. And has anyone actually used a JTag for unbricking this.

I looked on the internet and found that when you look up Jtag , you are given given results for what looks like a jig for (a given phone), and that it will let your phone boot into download mode.
Is that what you are talking about being doubtful. And I do thank you for your responses.
I have also tried using a debrick Img file and installing it to my 16gig sd card, and gone down that route, but that did not work, which is why I am considering spending the money on a Jtag Jig...

[Q] Help with Hard Brick

Welps I managed to hard brick my phone. I know its hard bricked I've already tried everything. Is there anything I can do but use a Jtag? I don't really fancy sending my phone to Texas and paying $50. Really need help here.

It's in the general thread

I totally messed everything up (stuck with brick)

I am an idiot..
Long story short my LG-D852 RGS is showing as an LG-D857 in LG FlashTool and I am unable to flash the correct rom as I keep getting an error message:
"Download fail!! Device model is different"
I somehow flashed my D852 to a D857 while messing around, and now I can not find any way to recover to factory.
Anyone have any solutions that can rescue me from this bricked phone?! PLEASE
If you want some good help to recover your phone go to this thread and ask for help or ask even if it is possible since you flashed the wrong ROM.

Yes I actually agree with that.
Here is the link to that thread which is actually closed but the OP of this thread here can have a good read and perhaps Google for the software to download.

I actually fixed it using a modified .DLL file that bypassed the model mismatch so I used it with the stock bell 5.0.1 and LG flash tool and it finally worked

I am confident this phone is basically unbrickable, much like other LG devices I've had in the past

LG G4 qhsusb_bulk After update .

Hello Xda
I tried to update my phone using LG Tool , But while the update process my PC shut down randomly . and my LG won't work anymore at all
but when i connect it to my PC , it recognize the mobile as qhsusb_bulk .
Please Advice ....
Thank you all
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, as you've guessed it though. Looks like you got a brick in the oven and can't feed your droid any new data now. Unfortunately, I don't know of any sure shot methods that will bring it up to par. I suggest either contacting verizon for a new device or the insurance for a new device. Maybe someone who's working on the bootloader, if there are any can help you but by the sound of it, you need a funeral service for your device. Sorry for the fluxed luck. Who knows though, I am not always 100,000% accurate with devices which aren't in front of me to tinker with. Best of Everything lucky to ya though.

Yeah I felt it's so complicated , I have some experience on Rooting and dealing with software issues , but this on is totally new for me.
Thank You Sir
Man that's a huge bummer, sorry to hear. If you have a spare phone and don't mind sitting on that one for a while eventually the files should be available to fix this but no eta is known.

This happened to me too, but i didnt use the LG Flash Tool cause it wasnt working for me so i used LG UP instead. I flashed the right .kdz file for my model and everything but when it finished flashing it remained in a bootloop and now it wont turn on. whenever try to put it in dl mode it doesnt show up with the screens i just see it connected as qhsusb_bulk in the device manager.
i have the open international version so im guessing bootloader so im gonna wait for fix files :fingers-crossed: although its gonna be a while im pretty sure :crying::crying::crying:

What are the files that one would need to fix this? Have they been released now? I've got a phone being recognized as a QHSUSB_BULK as well, and I'm wondering if these files would revive mine as well.
