It was fun while it lasted, but I think we can safely skip KA1. I'll leave everything here for those that want to play, but I'm going back to Roto-JME and crank out a new release of that.
Here are the pre-packaged KA1 firmwares, pre-rooted.
I am recommending that you flash CF-Root-Tab-KA1 to get ClockWorkMod 3.0 if you do not have a protected bootloader.
Use Roto-KA1-Full.zip if you are coming from any firmware other than Roto-JME.
Use Roto-KA1-Upgrade.zip if your current firmware is Roto-JME.
Use P1_add_hidden.pit if you're not coming from Roto-JME.
I have made the following filesystem changes so far:
Deleted Gmail.apk, Maps.apk and install_flash_player.apk to free up space for rooting.
Added AppWidgetPicker-1.2.1.apk
For those of you with protected bootloaders, either package will work for you too.

KA1
I'm still making packages, have no time to actually use it. Its smooth, especially the curtain.
JL1 modem. So far gallery hasn't went 100% cpu. Theres a new "Active Applications" widget showing how many apps are in the background, with some type of meter or display or something.

Hi, Roto
I have flashed the original JM* series ROM so the bootloader already got protected. Is there any safe way to downgrade?
I went through the whole thread of downgrading JM6, but eventually was confused and didn't dare to try.
Any of your advise will be highly appreciated.
EDIT: I will give a try no matter how according to the guidance.

essentially what you get with this is a Clockwork Recovery, so we can flash future roms instead of using Odin.....am i right on stating this?

oh, so then KA1 is the follow up to JME?
Thank`s Roto
but update fails from JME v2
The Setting`s for a full flash ?
Pit yes - no
Repart yes - no ??
Sry for my English........
Arguments for upgrading?
Excuse me, but isn't KA1 an Asian ROM?
What are the arguments for upgrading from Roto-JME, if you're an European SGT user?
Thx!
Just flashed Roto-KA1-Upgrade and CF-Root-Tab-KA1 over JME(non-protected bootloader), everything seems excellent so far, very smooth moving through apps and menus, no problems with screen auto-dim, even the Readers Hub is updating properly(hasn't updated properly for me through the JMx roms).
Edit:
Market just updated properly.
Swype v2.4.44.10881 is full-screen for those who were wondering.
Thanks rotohammer and chainfire for all your work on these releases.
Cheers,
Rob

Asian and English. The Asians lost out on JME, so now its their turn. Would be nice to combine all the locales though.
Roto,
What about us fools that have signed PBL,SBL,zimage???
Do you have anything for us signed bootloader people? Or are we screwed?
Thanks for all the hard work!

Hi,
My wife has a P6S-U06 phone (the Dual-SIM version of P6 with slightly stronger processor) and today morning the phone indicated that there is OTA firmware update. I downloaded it through WiFi and installed it, but without success. I repeated the whole process twice more, thinking that it might be an incomplete download. But the flash always 'FAILED'. (See attached picture)
The OTA upgrade should have updated the P6S-U06 B128 firmware version to B131.
What could be the problem? What can I do?
Ok, finally I resolved the problem. The B131 is out now and I flashed the full ROM. Then immediately came the 4.4 ROM as OTA upgrade and I installed it too.

Well, it's quite simple. From the downloaded zip you extract the 'dload' folder and put it into your internal memory. Then start Update app on the phone and choose local update.

After flashing B131 the phone indicated that there is a new online (OTA - Over the air) update. I downloaded it by Wi-Fi and installed it.
Now my firmware version is B202 SP03. It is Android 4.4, Emotion UI 2.3. The OTA update did not delete my data. All apps, settings remained unchanged.

Hi Tibor!
Last week I bought a P6S too. My version is B128. As I see on Huawei chinese local site, there's a newer firmware version. ( Ascend P6S(P6 S-U06,Android 4.4,Emotion UI 2.3,V100R001C17B208SP01)) Did you update yet to this version? Which version are you using?
I'm bit afraid to brick my phone during the update, therefore I would like to make a backup before. How can I make a full backup? Root permission is needed to that action?
Anybody tried this firmware? (P6 S-U06,Android 4.4,Emotion UI 2.3,V100R001C17B208SP01) Is it OK?
Thanks in advance!

Klown

I have already answered to you at another thread.
My wife is using now the same V100R001C17B208SP01 firmware on her P6S-U06 phone. The system is very smooth, we cannot recognise any bug of that ROM. So, I strongly recommend to use it!

I've tried to do the same thing with my phone but the system says that 'Update was not found'. I have the same B128 version. Does anybody know what can cause such an error?
Ok, so after I update to a new firmware, does it stay with me after flashing a different rom? Or do I have to update to the newest firmware every time I flash a new rom?

You don't have to reflash firmware.
Well, that depends on the Rom.
If the Rom you'll install requires a new firmware then the answer is Yes.
Most Rom upgrades do not requiere firmware upgrade, that is why you need to read thr thread of the Rom.
Example: viper Rom. V1 to v2 requiered new firmwar, v2 to v3 required upgrade as well. 3.0.1 to 3.1.0 was a minor upgrade so no firmware upgrade was required.

So yes, the answer is no.

If it is OTA it depends, but most of the times you need to install them one-by-one, instead if it is the full Zip you need just the last one

What? That's wrong. You can skip from 01/03 build to today's without problems even with the in-built OTA updater.

I didn't get it was related to the built-in OTA, I understood he was talking about TWRP flash.
If related to built-in you can just follow what advised
I have an unlocked S10+ (G975) and I am on the latest OneUI 2.0 Beta 7 build (ZSKL). I am trying to use the small (~135MB) upgrade package to upgrade to the official BSKO build. It can be found here, but also in other pages. I download the file, rename as update.zip, place on the root of my SD card, reboot into stock recovery mode and flash from there. The process starts and aborts with the following error:
E3004: This package is for "beyond2" devices; this is a "beyond2q".
According to this and other pages beyond2q is the name of the unlocked S10 (not S10+).
If you're asking whether I downloaded the S10 package instead of the S10+ (I did not... triple-checked) or even whether the page has the links inverted, try not to focus on that, but on the fact recovery thinks I have a different device.
Has anyone else run into this? I saw someone else's post claiming the same thing in another thread, but there was no response and thread is now closed.
Thanks in advance.

I bought it in the U.S. from the Samsung U.S. site unlocked.
I just went into my Settings > About screen and this is what I see:
Model Number: SM-G975U1
Baseband version: G975U1UEU2ZSKKL
It's clearly the model for which I am downloading the upgrade package and it's definitely not a beyond2q as the recovery flash is saying.
