Pls help me updating my 5t to oreo.i am currently on version 4.7.6 with twrp recovery nd super su root.
After updating to Oreo I again want to root my phone
Pls share links to download compatibile ROM, recovery nd super su.zip
But you already have the OREO OOS ROM installed, why not use it? Flash the Oreo recovery from codeworkx through fastboot, make sure to follow the instructions so it sticks and then flash Magisk or any root solution of your choice. It's not hard if you do some searching.
Check in ROMs' threads and come back what your interested ROM is.
What I did was flash the ota to update me to Oreo. Then had to reflash Magisk and kernel.

If you have already installed a custom recovery and rooted your phone then you should be able to follow these instructions.
I can personally confirm that I was able to install the beta versions of Oreo and the final version of Oreo without any issues.
Here's what I did:
1. Download full .zip
2. Download Blu_Spark TWRP or Codeworkx TWRP (I personally used Blu_Spark but both should work).
3. Download Magisk 15.3 (I havent used SuperSu in a while so I can't confirm how well it works on Oreo but in my opinion Magisk is a better root method and it works in this version of android).
4. Make sure you have both ROM and Magisk on a easy to find place on your phone.
5. Boot to fastboot and fastboot flash the recovery you just downloaded.
6. Boot to recovery, wipe dalvik and cache and then install the ROM.
7. Once the installation is done, boot to system and wait till the system to finish updating. Once there you can go to settings > phone status and it should read (android version = 8.0.0 and OxygenOS version = 5.0.2, congrats, you're on the latest OxygenOS version for this phone).
8. Reboot to fastboot, and fastboot flash the custom recovery again.
9. Boot to recovery, wipe dalvik and cache again, and flash Magisk, wipe dalvik and cache once more and reboot to system.
10. Once the phone is booted up, you should be rooted with Magisk and on the latest OS.
9. Boot to recovery, wipe dalvik and cache again, and flash Magisk, wipe dalvik and cache once more and reboot to system.
10. Once the phone is booted up, you should be rooted with Magisk and on the latest OS.
NOTE: Since this is a big version update from Nougat, it's always recommended to do a clean flash although not necessary in most cases unless there are issues like big battery drain or when apps or the OS are not working properly. Also, if you are coming from a custom ROM and not the official OxygenOS, then you should definitely do a clean installation (even if said custom ROM is based on OxygenOS).

Wiping data and system partition which means you're wiping the entire OS and installing the new version on a clean partition. Think of it as formatting a hard drive and installing an OS instead of just upgrading your existing OS.
You obviously lose all apps installed, and it would be like when you first turned on your phone, however as long as you don't wipe internal storage, all your photos, music, etc are not wiped so you can use apps like titanium backup to restore all apps and data .
This method is recommended when switching from different custom ROM's and when upgrading from major version updates, like for example, going to Android 8 from Andorid 7.

I used that same version of TWRP back during the Oreo beta and it didn't work so I had to switch to blu_spark.

So i took the jump and flashed blu spark and the 5.0.3 full rom.
Yes i lost the recovery to stock, but that's ok. Just want to get OTA in the future and I don't need root at the moment.
So this is what i did (coming from 4.7.6, official twrp, magisk 15.3)
Make sure you have all the necessary files (eg. blu spark img file and the full ota file on your phone
boot the fastboot and "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.1-x_blu_spark_v8.68-op5_op5t.img"
On the phone, choose and go to recovery
(now i'm on blu spark) Wipe Cache and Dalvik cache (i did this 2 times just to make sure)
Choose install and select the full ota rom file
Let it run and install the rom (took less than 5 mins)
Wipe Cache and Dalvik cache again (again, i wiped 2 times just to make sure)
Reboot
Make take a while (less than 10mins) for android to start and do the upgrade etc
Done
So far so good, i don't see any immediate problem. I will play a bit more and will post if I encounter any problem :good:
I have updated to 5.0.3 through system update app. where it downloaded full ota file and installed. Now I want to install twrp nd root my phone so pls confirm my steps
1 boot into fastboot mode and flash bluespark recovery
2 wipe delvik/cache from twrp recovery
3 flash magisk zip
4 again wipe delvik cache
5 reboot
are above steps correct?

it booted fine
Is fp working in this and the gcam??
No brother,fp not working
I tried A only using TWRP (latest version), but it just hangs at the realme logo then reboots back to recovery.
Note: even though I flashed the img to the system partition it complained no OS was installed.
Prior to that I had done a factory wipe and then a system wipe.

Both versions failed!
Many a times brother due to vendoe problem this loop happens. When this loop happens try to boot to recovery and flash vendor.img and you will be able to boot to rom
Step For Flashing-
1.latest twrp or r2x2 recovery
2.then backup
3.wipe system, vendor.userdata, cache, delvik cache for clean install
4.flash vendor zip first link- https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397931146
5.unpack sytem image flash to system link- https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397933944
6.wipe cache and delvik cache
7.Swipe to reboot
8.wait for few minutes it booted to bliss rom
caution-
latest system color os a.17 build vendor not worked
flash only linked vendor zip from above
then you good to go
best of luck

The same problem persists. It loads the REALME logo, and immediately reboots into the Bootloader.
Is vendor.zip flashed using TWRP Install? Or does it have to be flashed to "boot"?

whats the variants phone are you using?
4/64 or 128ufs
indian or others
are you flashing inside any mode?
just flash vendor zip & bliss img to system and reboot, wait some time
Got it to work after flashing vendor.img
Does this require a device specific kernel to already be installed from a previous ROM? When I checked the kernel in my Realme 2 Pro it was the same kernel as what is used by device specific ROMs: 4.4.78-perf+
Can I flash a different kernel from here?
https://github.com/BlissRoms-Kernels
i am not responsible for that, you may try but recommend-no,thanks a lot

I use a 4/64 model. Indian itself.
I did not flash inside any mode (that I know of at least).
I ended up bricking my phone completely somehow. It would show the RealMe logo, and then boot up into a blank white screen with an input bar, and keyboard. But nothing else. It refused to boot into the bootloader as well, saying that there was some error.
Also, I had tried flashing the vendor zip first, and then the bliss img. Whenever I did that though, it would show "No OS installed. Do you want to continue?"
Thanks for trying it but this isn't working on your device & I am also sorry, plz try stable rom from xda or stock rom that can be best for you, best of luck ?
I am Argentine and practically do not speak English, so I will use the translator and it will not be the most accurate.
I am one of the people who change the ROOM of my cell phone every week and until nothing, 1 month I almost get the "Error 7 updater" in TWRP when installing any ROOM AOSP, but in ROOMS xiaomi does not happen, I have seen videos on which said that I had to modify a text inside the room and others, which works and removes the error but at the time of using the device it does not work for me:
The flashlight, the camera, does not recognize the PC, has no audio and so on.
I can not find any way out of that error, and I'm a fan of pixel experience, I went back to Miui because I wanted to use the gestures they had a few days since I missed them when I had the buttons on the screen, but when I wanted to reinstall the pixel experience came out that error, and with any other room that is not MIUI, please the one that can help me I thank you :good:
You need to flash official twrp recovery. download recovery from https://dl.twrp.me/whyred/ and place it in you internal storage or sdcard et cetra and flash from your current recovery. I hope this will solve your problem.
But remember that the link i mentioned above is only for whyred (Note 5 Pro)
thanks your answer, but that does not solve the problem, in fact I already have installed the twrp 3.3.0.0

Hi guys! If you are like me and unlocked your bootloader on MIUI Pie and followed old guides to flash official TWRP and a custom ROM, you are surely going to face data encryption problem, where your TWRP can't access internal storage and can't flash anything.
So, after wasting 6 hours of my time yesterday on my laptop and scourging lots of forum posts, I found a solution. Mind you it's just a way that worked for me. Might work or might not for you.
1. Flash a fresh MIUI Oreo stable ROM via XiaoMi Flash Tool. (Select 'clean and save' to prevent bootloader from locking again.)
2. Enter fastboot mode and flash OrangeFox revocery using adb commands.
3. Boot to recovery and perform system, data, cache, dalvik cache wipe.
4. Connect to computer and transfer custom ROM file to internal storage of phone.
5. Flash custom ROM on recovery and reboot to system.
Never ever don't wipe data if you are downgrading ROM!
Use clean all (no need for cleann all lock).
But don't use clean and save!
What about flashing Xiaomi.eu MIUI 10 Stable version?
Hello,
It's been a while since I did any phone flashing - currently running on MIUI V11.0.3.0.PEIMIXM with unlocked bootloader, so I want to make sure not to screw anything:
- put phone on fastboot
- 'fastboot boot twrp.img'
- wipe system, data, dalvik, cache, vendor
- set data, cache to f2fs
- flash xiaomi.eu
- flash custom kernel (rad or panda maybe?)
- flash anything else (like GCam)
- reboot
Is that the correct way to do that?
