[Q] WWE App on AFTV

Cannot download/install WWE apk on my AFT saying unavailable (geolock I guess)
My AFT/Amazon account is aware I am Not is the USA even tho I do run via DNS.
In my Amazon.com account the AFT is there with a red X next to device so they are
on to me, but Netflix works 100%.as did Prime 30 day.
The Amazon App store app is android but needs GPS location no good
I tried another WWE.apk from here but mentions not my app not going to run.
Do I fudge the system again with a new email and reset the box.
Will root resolve this issue.
I feel it is more to do with how i registered the box.

Again thanks, gets a little further...
Get a white strip 1/3rd r/h side of screen,but continues, Warning about content etc
Then get error cannot play this video at this time time try again later? can stream ok on PC
Both Wifi and cable connection
Also tried on a MINIX box same deal

Error cannot play this video at this time Please try again later.
Cleaned the cache, relogged in and tried various events
Also tested on Samsung Tablet same deal.

I bought fire tv from a retailer in China. and I can't contact him now. when I want to register or use parental function, It needs the "existing PIN", but I can't contact the retailer again. How can I register my device?
when I reseted to factory, It still needs "existing PIN" !

If you hadn't figured it out, factory reset. Easiest way to start fresh. Under the system tab.
Will clear out the info from the earlier owner.
Is it factory or rooted?
If its rooted, you might check that some settings are not disabled. I am not certain, but in addition to the setting to freeze in order to stave off updates(pm disable com.amazon.dcp) there may be another that restricts communication during the registration. I don't know for sure but I think there were some less than preferred methods. Do some research in these forums at xda.

I'll follow up with some clarifications and corrections. It seems that the update does not need to be enabled. Disregard if you choose.
Check the hosts file if you can.
The second hand firetv kinda seems dangerous with the potential brick stories.

BTW: as stated before in your second spam thread. It's probably stolen. Someone else had to have put a Prime or parental PIN in there before this "retailer" got it. It's pretty much equally said to my knowledge that you got burned....also could explain the Chinese retailers sketchy contact availability.
was there another place that you could have bought it? Also are you sure that's the name of the retailer and NOT the previous owner?
Also I checked on multi-regional amazon sites including .cn, de, .co.uk and I looked at .CN and there is a Fire TV knockoff (which wasn't highly rated at all) BUT nowhere I see where you can buy the fire anywhere else from Amazon but USA. (as most services the fire tv offers are only available like hulu in the US)
so the answer to your questions are
1. yes. using a fire TV outside the united states is unauthorized by Amazon or as what Customer Support called it "illegal"
2. if you don't get in contact with owner who has the account information in that Fire TV. Be retailer or possible previous owner.. You're stuck.

Have you tried a simple code like 0000 or 1111. If for some reason they created the pin just for testing they might have kept it simple.

The only thing annoying in this thread is some guy polishing up his forum police badge and taking it for a walk. There are people called moderators, no need for nosey users.

Easy Peaches. For someone who doesn't care you certainly flap your virtual lips an awful lot.

Help...left my Firestick for a guest room and one of my guests changing the pin and reregistered the fire TV stick to their own account. I called Amazon - they have a record of my purchase for this Firestick but they won't reset it so I can use it! Is there a way to restore it?

I had this problem with a fire stick i bought from eBay.
My solution will work for you if your on a rootable version.
If you are on a rootable version 5.2.1.0 or below, root your stick with KINGOROOT, then disable parenal controls with adb, I forgot the command I used but you will get the same result using any android program that will freeze apps/services.... Titanium Backup for example.
I will post the command when I find it later.

Fire Stick not registering amazon account

Hey guys... So I got a amazon fire stick cheap from someone... And it worked fine... But all a sudden it seems to have reset, and is now not logging into any of my amazon accounts. Keeps saying cannot verify.
Is there some kind of security feature where a fire stick can be deactivated from amazon or something.. ?
Any advice how to get around this...? It asks to connect to WiFi which it does fine... Then add amazon account... Which then it keeps failing to verify.

Are you blocking any domains in your router? If so you may have issue connecting to Amazon.

No I'm not blocking anything... I had just side loaded xmbx and some other apps earlier... It was working fine then... All a sudden it just stopped.
Does amazon block devices in any scenario?

Try logging into you Amazon account and see what devices you have registered on there. If the stick Is still registered then try un-registering it. Then try sign in again on stick

I have an Amazon Fire stick it was working fine . Then all of a sudden when trying to go back in it asks me if I have an account or need to create one. As we bought it for $80 and had kodi we don't have an account and don't want to register because we never had to before. Please help

Who ever sold it to you probably had it logged in under their account. Either they removed that device from their account, or it was pushed out by them registering new devices. An amazon account is required.

Did you ever get your Amazon Fire Stick to work? I've had my firestick for quite awhile now and all of a sudden it stopped working. It doesn't seem to recognize my Amazon ID or password. Is there a way to get past that and maybe just reset the setting and start all fresh? Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it to work again? Thanks...

Go to Amazon.com and check if your device is still registered. if so delete it and try to login.
If it still doesn't work contact official amazon support for help, they are very helpful

Having the same problem with them asking me to register an account i don't mind but why in the blue hell do they wan my credit card number that was where i stopped and said no !

I had the same issue when I called and they said that was the Fire Sticks I had were reported lost or stolen and has been blacklisted. Their tech support team was able to unblacklist them and I had to do a factory reset.

My firestick is not allowing me register it keep going back asking for email address and password. I am allowed to go My Amazon website with the email and password but not on the firestick. What am I doing wrong?

Fire TV wiped???

I set up a 2nd gen Fire TV for my friend with Kodi and other Addons, and everything was working fine. The other day he went to use it, and everything was gone, and it was in a state like it was factory reset. Does anyone know what could have caused that to happen?

Sound like some one else in the home, kid or less tech savvy person or someone that might of done something on it that they wanted hidden hit "Factory Reset". It really sounds like user bug. Haven't heard about a hardware bug that "Factory Resets" them. Unless maybe it tried to take an update & things went really bad. But if that was the case it would probably be on a startup loop.

Is the FW still @ same version you rooted at ?
If there are no other folks or kids that could of accidentally done it. Then he either butt/drunk factory reset or he has a ghost/poltergeist.

I didn't root it, and the FW is still the same. Is there a button combination that can be pressed by any chance, or do you have to go into the settings,and choose Factory Reset?

Although I can't get it work work on my FireOS 5.0.5.1 FTVS. So not sure it's now disable. But there is a remote combination for Factory Reset. But I think you would still need to verify you want to Factory Reset.
RIGHT + BACK for 10 seconds will ask you for doing a factory reset on your FireTV.

Got it work. So it's still active. It gives a 15 second countdown to Factory Reset. So that combination will Factory Reset unless you stop the countdown.
I think we got to the bottom of that mystery.

Im glad you posted this OP, my stick did the same thing! It was wiped totally clean. his happen on April 4th or 5th, same day you posted this

There are no Jail broken FTV's. Just rooted FTV's or not rooted FTV's. On re-seller FTV's Jail broken is just a marketing term. You could of mod (jail broken) an FTV that you got from Amazon or any store just by following a few guides for much less $. And all FTV's need an Amazon account to get past the register screen no matter if rooted or modded or whatever.

I have watched it since February when I bought it and NEVER had to register it. All I had to do was connect to my wifi. NOW it's saying I have to register it.

It must of been sent to you with a pre-logged probably dummy Amazon account. The owner of the Amazon account can de-register the device off their account at anytime or Amazon can close/ban the account. But it's more then likely that the seller had to make room to have other devices registered & took yours off. And that would kick you out of it & will make your FTV ask you for an Amazon account again.
Just create one or use one you already got. Not hard & it's free to create an Amazon account. Nothing should really change in your setup. Unless you had some paid apps that came with it. And any Free apps you can just buy in your new Amazon account. Sideloaded apps like Kodi/SPMC should not be affected at all.

Only if you manually purchase PRIME or if you click to purchase an App or other non-free item. You can try to use a Gift Visa or other type of card too. Not sure if it checked how much money is in it. But you might be able to get away with using one without any balance left. Make sure you turn off "in App purchases" in the settings. And you can add parental controls to make you input a pin if anybody wants to purchase anything as extra security on your FTV.

my amazon firestick updated and wipes everything what is the cause of that and how to get back my apps

Forget wired network on Fire tv 2nd gen

After a recent update that almost bricked my 2nd gen box i was able to factory reset and go back to normal. Before my box had an issue i had some smart dns addresses set up on a wired connection. i am able to set these up on wireless after the factory reset but when doing on wired the changes aren't registering. Also i have noticed that there isn't the option to press the menu button to forget the wired network and start again from scratch (and presumably be able to set up the DNS addresses within the setup). My 3rd gen box gives the option of using the menu button to forget the network.
Hope someone can help me solve this annoying issue!

So pretty much the same issue on a gen 1 unit.
So you even found after a factory reset, you couldn't make changes to the settings?
Have Amazon screwed up the software?

I am reluctant to do this as it means blowing away quite a lot of setup and the earlier poster suggested that a reset did not fix the issue anyway.

I did it twice so far, but without any result
Moreover I am in a strange situation:
I bought the AFTV when I was living in germany, at the time the service was not present i my country (Italy)
later Prime video service was started and I was able to cast videos from Fire to FTV
later AFTV stick entered my counrty, but not AFTV
So in this moment I am a Prime Video subscriber, with a AFTV device with an Italian fiormware (probably developed for the stick), but I can only see videos on my smartphone or tablet. The cast begins but immediately ends.
This situation in addition to net settings is very recent.

I don't know that they have anything specific in the software (OS) that varies depending on the country.
It might be worth having a look at your settings on the Fire TV stick and then review your amazon account settings.
You may have a mismatch somewhere.

i did a factory reset...no change. I have also posted on Amazonforum.com but no responses after a lot of reads.

Hi there, how did you get your box back to normal?
My box wont boot and I assume the update is to blame for this. I get stuck on a "Amazon Recovery <3e>" screen. Similar in your case?

the factory reset put the box back to normal. `My issue now is about putting in smart dns settings which arent being saved

I also have this problem with a Fire TV 1 and 2. I can add a wireless connection manually and for this connection I can use a static IP-address and DNS-server. But no luck with wired network on both devices. Fun Fact: My Fire TV 1 already has a static connection, but I can't update the IP-address. Both devices have software version 5.2.6.6.
I already had contact with the Amazon support repeatedly, but they basically told me to go **** myself, especially after I told them I wanted to add my own DNS-Server. They think I want to use other countries' Prime Video.

I sent Amazon Support the link to this thread. At least now they did reply to me, saying that they will look into the problem. Maybe one of the next updates will already solve this bug.

It does not really matter what the DNS settings are for - It is just a fact that sometimes they will need to be altered and now cannot be.
The wifi connections can be changed but the wired network is effectively frozen.
I am sure its just a small glitch in the code - Really hope it can be fixed.
Generally the Fire TV has been an excellent product for me.

Same problem here. Can't change or forget a wired connection. Im on Fire OS 5.2.6.7

Same for me as well on the FireTV 1, have finally updated to the latest rooted OS version and now cannot change the DNS settings on the wired connection!
Have had to revert to the WiFi connection instead for now so hopefully this gets fixed in the next release...

After installing I tried to "forget" the Ethernet connection.
It looked like it had worked - there was no connection showing - which I think is different to before - I seem to recall when you 'forgot' it would just re-appear.
I added a new ethernet connection and entered all the details I wanted - Fixed IP address and DNS servers - clicked save and it all looked ok.
Went into the About device bit which lets you check the network details etc.
IP address and DNS server details were the old details that I had 'Forgotten' - So sad to say its still knackered.

I've just installed Version 5.2.6.8 (Build 630508620) on my Fire TV 2 and editing the network settings works now.
If you select "Update Networkconfiguration", on the right side of the screen it shows your configuration from before the update. But if you edit your network again, you will see, that the Fire TV remembered your settings.
To see your new configuration on the About-Page you have to reboot your Fire TV.

Maybe a bit of sloppy code somewhere in there - but it does eventually decide to show the settings I saved and is presumably using them again.
Great stuff - Really like my Fire TV (especially when its working properly).
