Hi. Does anyone know if there will be a global version of the x50 pro plus?
This phone pretty much ticks all the boxes, except for the missing band 20. Wonder if anyone has read anything about the global market?
Well sadly i do think the X50 Pro Plus won't get any Global version this phone supposed to sell in China Only..

It depends on what you consider as a global version. Yes, you ought to clean Chinese apps and settings at the beginning. And customize the phone. But otherwise, every global application I tried, works.

With a lot of these Chinese brands the global and chinese versions differ in hardware and software. For example the Chinese version doesn't support a lot of the 4g bands needed for the European market, whilst the global version does.
Also things like.google pay often don't work on Chinese versions whilst on global version they do

That depends on your telecom operator, for me it is not a problem.
The you have to check every model because Iqoo 5 Pro which is similar has b20

And you have a dedicated global model for EU markets Vivo X51 5G with band 20 LTE. Since Vivo just established a few branch offices around Europe you can expect more to come. And global rom should be purer and purer Android with just a few improvements inherent to Vivo.

But at £750 for what is essentially an x50 pro, they won't be getting my cash.

If you interested Wonda Mobile has global X50 Pro (same as X51) from India at 679 euro against 799 euro of European model. They have the same bands missing in Chinese model (b20 and b32 for lte and band n28 on 5G)

A global ROM hast he band 20?
Not at this time. Perhaps in future but it's unlikely as they reveal MI6 for taiwan and it wasn't a global version.

Does the official global rom come with Google Play installed, or does it still need to be added?
Also, can you download and play movies from Google Play, or use the download feature on Netflix? Neither of those work on my Mi4C.
This is the only thing holding me back from ordering a Mi6. Really hoping that stuff works, since the Mi6 is not China-only like the Mi4C.
Enjoying it so far?
anyone know if this would work in the usa on gsm sais it supports band 4....http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Offi...-Mi-6-6GB-64GB-Smartphone---Black-379852.html

But does this actually matter if, for example, on EE in the UK you get 4g via other bands too... so would it actually make a difference?
Curious if anyone here has tried it on EE in the UK?

I believe EE doesn't use band 20, so it's golden.
I come from a Moto X 2014. I'm on three and I've had LTE coverage everywhere I went. Mind you, I'm in London and if I venture into the country I might not get LTE there, as band 20 is also used by three, possibly in less populated areas.

Hi, thanks... I hope so, I want to get one for my wife... This site says EE do use band 20, but not exclusively, so I don't know if it is a regional thing, different bands working in different areas or what. https://willmyphonework.net

I can get my hands on a EU OnePlus 7t or 8 Pro but I want the NA LTE bands for Canada fully functional. I can see that you can switch the ROM, but I just want to confirm if that will allow me to have all the band's listed on their model?
If possible, I'd like to switch and not keep the phone rooted so I can use all apps normally. This possible? Thanks

Afaik the ROM doesn't limit the bands. Imagine buying an unlocked device and travelling abroad. It wouldn't make sense to limit the functionality with software.
However, the hardware as limiting factor is a cost and compatibility choice. Hence, changing the ROM will not make your device compatible to more LTE bands.

@sunnyd71
What someone needs to do is flash an NA (North American) image (for a HD1905 HW variant) to an EU Oneplus 7T (HD1903 HW variant) and actually check whether band 71 works.
And I mean you need to do this with the MSM-tool. You may have to flash the modem partition too I am not entirely certain the MSM-tool does that.
But no-one seems to have done this as far as I know. For the techy users on here this should not be very hard.

It depends if the EU version came with the band in the first place
Firmware does Indeed control the band's. But it is very difficult to manipulate as an end-user.
Phone manufacturers have to go through testing certifications in countries to be allowed to enable certain band's for their product to function there. They keep it well hidden from users like us.
That being said, I don't believe this works with the 7T (or any OnePlus phone).
Most likely chip specific. If the modem chip maker included ALL the bands on one chip, what fun would that be.
By making chips with different bands, they can charge multiple prices, depending on the market, and, phone makers
can sell different phones to different markets instead of a one size fits all approach. $$$$
Hi. Did anyone purchase a oversea model and use in the United States? Are you able to use the 5 G with TMOBILE
I have a OnePlus that I purchased from BestBuy and is the LE2125 version I use on TM. Which model do you have? LE21?? It should work with TMobile 5g.

LE2125 is the north america/global version. If they bought the CN version it is a different model and likely running ColorOS
You're going to be missing a LOT of bands on the Chinese version. You get 2, 4, 12, 41, but are missing 66 and 71. You're also only going to get one band of 5G, and missing out on 3, including the MMWave stuff.-
You will NOT have a good time on that phone.
Poco F3(M2012K11AG ) supports n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n41, n77, n78 5g bands while Indian Mi 11x (M2012K11AI) supports only n77 & n78 bands.So can we unlock the other 5g bands in Mi 11x? Something like this https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...nal-lte-bands-in-mido-india-specific.4028087/
please cooment
So you got 5G in India?

刷入中国版的MIUI?
----------
MOD EDIT: English Translation Below
Brush into the Chinese version of MIUI?
Not possible, if you want the same bands as the Poco F3 you need to buy the Poco F3.
Each region specific model has a different modem hardware, you cannot do anything via software mods if the hardware does not support the bands.
Otherwise, we would have all just gotten the Redmi K40 with China rom when it came out and flash it with Global rom once released then unlock the bands via software mods.

there is a difference in GPS too, like mi 11x supports less gps satellites than F3 or K40. Will I be able to catch all GPS with chinese rom in Mi 11x ?

mi 11x and pro is exactly the same except processor and camera, so yeah, no NFC, less band, less gps satellites. I also found that indian variant has no color spectrum sensor which is a big con if you are camera focused. In my country F3 is a bit more expensive but i am thinking of getter f3 over mi 11x. Cheaper doesn't always means better. K40 will be the best option but its not available.
Sorry if the same question asked before, I did the research and couldn't find the answer yet.
I bought 9 pro EU version for dual sim cards, and plan to root the phone too.
Since I'll use the phone with T-Mobile, will I get wifi calling as well as 5G? What's the best image I can use? Thanks

I believe the bands are very different from the US bands used here. You'll probably have a hard time simply connecting to T-Mobile, but if you have a SIM card lying around, it wouldn't hurt to see if I'm wrong .
I wish there was a definitive answer for this by now.... I need to buy a DUAL SIM phone with CUSTOM ROMS available that works on T-MOBILE... And I can't find anything that works for all 3 requirements

The LE2123 supports T-Mobile bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 41, and 66 on LTE which means it's only missing 71 (which unfortunately is a large portion of indoor and rural coverage) but the 5G side is pretty bleak since it's missing n71. It has T-Mobile's n41 midband but without n71, you're going to drop from 5G to LTE a lot.
It will work, it just won't be the best you can get from T-Mo. I don't believe there is a device that meets your requirements with full compatibility unless you can deal with having eSIM for one slot and get an unlocked Pixel 6/Pro.

Does this mean that it will work fine with the bands here?

It sounds like it has been converted to LE2123 software but the bands aren't changed by the software.
