Hi this is my first post in the forum,
I'd been using FireTV with XBMX 13.2 for a while. I rooted it and had a good config with Llama that made the device to boot directly to XBMC.
I have tried to upgrade to Kodi with ADB Install (Not using -r). From the Android Applications I could start Kodi fine but wanted to have it boot to kodi directly so I did a ADB uninstall org.xbmc.xbmc. from my pc After that FireTV got hanged when rebooted on the Amazon FireTV screen and could not get in anymore as it stopped to be visible on the network(Can´t ping).
Is there any workaround/solution to this situation?
I read in other site that I should plug a usb keyboard to solve it is this the only way? In that case I will have to find one as I mine is PS2.

Just wondering if there is a way to manually update drivers for Fire TV/Stick/Android in general? I know this is an odd build of Android TV, but it just occurred to me after all my years of using Android, I have never had to try to update drivers. Recently I purchased two classic SNES controllers (USB) to use with my Fire stick via OTG adapter. I was unable to map or recognize X,Y,L, and R buttons. All other buttons were recognized and functional (select, start, A, B, D-Pad). I checked on my android phone (Note 4) and same issue. I then checked on my PC and the buttons were recognized. I then checked on my Nvidia Shield TV and it was again recognized, making me think it was a driver specific issue. Thanks in advance.

Any ideas how to install HomeAssistant on Shield TV?
One idea was to install Termux from the Playstore. I managed to install Termux, but "Termux:API" isnt showing as a compatible device for Shield TV
Thoughts?

Please help me to update my TCL. My tv android smart tv but it just have some useless apps in its app store. Only useful app is Youtube and Mirrorcast , I don't have Netflix prime or an other applications. Also when i try to update , it says Its already the latest version so please help me to flash a good system and download link.

Could you help me to install this ? I tried the turning off and pressing the power button method but it didn't work , I also tried to manually go to settings and software update using USB , but it said no update package found even tho my USB is recognized by the TV

Yes sir i did extract the bin file and placed it on my USB, I tried it with a 8 GB USB Fat32.. Tried it on both USB 3 and USB 2 ports on TV.. It recognize my USB as a MEDIA PLAYER, but when i try to manually do software update from USB it shows the message " NO AVAILABLE UPDATE FILE , PLEASE INSERT USB DEVICE OR SD CARD WITH SOFTWARE PACKAGE"... I also tried to open the media player and open the bin file but it said I don't have any application to open it.
Try this.....found in older TCL pdf....
"Please save file ‘V8-xxxxxxx-LF1VXXX.bin’ at the root of the USB drive formatted in FAT32.
Put TV on standby.
Insert USB drive in ‘USB’ slot of the TV.
Press and maintain the power button of the TV until the front LED blinks.
TV will update SW automatically, and shows popup menu to inform the user is updating."

Tried it but the TV justs turns ON and turns OFF again Turns ON and turns OFF .. repeats...as long as I'm holding the remote power button

Repeat same until press and maintain the power button on TV (not remote !)....until the front LED is blinking.
As soon as it started blinking, you can release the button (take out your finger from the button).
TV will update SW automatically, and shows popup menu to inform the user about the ongoing update......
Upgrade will take some time around ~7 to 10 minutes.
Do not switch off, unplug the power cord or remove USB drive until upgrade is complete.
When reflashing is successful, TV should restart automatically after 5 minutes.
Remove the USB drive from the USB port.

I updated it , thanks but I there is no changes , still no netflix or any apps. So can you suggest some firmware of other tv model which I can install in this

Change TV......wait for 2021 models, but if you in hurry can buy also 2020 models.
You can't flash other TV models firmware.

I have the same problem for my tcl 55P2US. and I can not update with the firmware v8-s68at02-lf1v198. Could you help me install it I tried turning off and pressing the power button method but it didn't work, I also tried to manually access settings and updating the software using USB, but no update package was found even though my USB is recognized by the TV. I even tried the last procedure mentioned above and it does not work yet. Thank you for finding a solution.
Try V182 OTA file by local update in setting (or power button).
If same , try different USB.
