Random Poweroff - Oppo Realme 3 Questions & Answers

Hey, I am looking for some help. Let me explain the issue with my Realme3 .
The device poweroff automatically at random intervals. Mostly while using some apps. Sometimes when i switch on the device back it turns off again just after reaching the main screen after the logo(This wil repeat 2-3 times and if i switch on the device after sometime i can use it) There is no specific interval for this autoswitch off. Sometimes it would only turn off after hours. I have tried the following things:
1. Did a Hard reset
2. Device software is up to date
3. Checked whether auto power off is not enabled.
4. Removed sim card and sd card
The battery charging time is normal, discharge rate is normal. Device is not getting over heated. I am getting decent screenon time when the device is running.
Could anyone please help me to diagnose the issue?

Desire Will not shut down.

Never shuts down. I always have to take battery out. It just stays on the 'shutting down...' menu with the blured background.
How do I fix it?
This is a stock, unbranded desire from 3UK.

I used to have this problem, it did eventually shut down after about 10 minutes though.
I gave up trying to fix it and now it no longer does it.
I used to have the same problem but it seames to have dissaprared. I can't say I have a solution but you might want to try this:
- power of your phone (take out battery if needed)
- power on the phone while holding the menu key; this will make your phone enter safe mode i.e. no third party apps will be available, just the system ones
- let it finish the whole startup sequence and then turn of your phone and restart normally again
Please report back if this solves the problem.
its usually linked to task managers,
Used to have it all the time, but since i dont use any task managers, everything is fine
Good luck

I've noticed I get this problem too sometimes. I think it has a lot to do with android trying to shut down all the runing processes. Do you have a non HTC or Google live wallpaper (especially a graphic intensive one) ? do you get a lot of e-mails/tweets/texts tun up while you are shutting down, do you plug your phone in to charge as you are shutting down. All these things leave the system with lots to do and I think that if the efect is the same as if you were trying to do too many things on an underpowered windows PC, there is a logjam of things all wanting to happen at the same time. This will eventually clear, but it take a while as noted above.
I found the solution on mine after a month of taking out the battery which is not good for the phone.so to make it shut down you have to turn off the WIFI before turning the phone off.i notice no more problem..so try that and let me know if it worked.
I got this problem as well and it WAS annoying (must took out battery!).
Here is THE solution:
Before shutting down:
- Turn OFF WiFi
- Go to settings -> SD-Card -> click UNMOUNT ...
Reboot.
That's it
In addition, I also download this FREE "SDRescan" app:
http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com.bero.sdrescan/
And did rescan BEFORE UNMOUNT
The time to boot is now shorten to few seconds max 1 minute or so.
This depending how many apps do you have installed!
I hate it when people ask questions, get suggestions on how to solve their problems but then NEVER give feedback.
its went away now and shut downs instantly, i just pressed shut down and went to sleep for the night, since then its fine.

desire will not sleep - keeps turning back on

After a year + of problem free use I woke this morning to find my desire was on (and battery nearly drained as a result):
I click the off switch and the screen blanks and appears to go to sleep as normal but a split second later it turns back on again.
If I leave it the sleep timer kicks in as normal and the screen blanks but a split second later it turns back on again.
Same behavior whether on charger or battery.
Removed sim and sd card - same behavior.
Cleaned contacts and re-inserted - same.
Full hard reset - everything cleared - same.
Wifi on or off makes no difference.
Once in a while it will stay off and I think the problems solved itself but ten minutes later I check and it's turned itself on again.
Warranty expired last week of course.
Any ideas?
Thanks, M

[Q] After Lollipop, all connections or phone turns off when not on external power

Hi everyone,
I recently installed Lollipop on my ZL. Now I have some very strange issues:
- On external power, everything works as usual, even for prolonged times (e.g., navigation with Google Maps)
- When on battery power, everything is fine as long as the screen is off (e.g., I will receive SMS, mails, all notifications, ...)
- When the screen is on, cellular reception will fail after some time (~10-20 seconds), but opening apps that don't need wireless connections (or GPS) work fine.
- Cycling through flight mode will turn the phone off immediately
- The same if I turn on WiFi or GPS
- Once turned off, the phone won't boot again. It will get to the first splash screen (Sony/Xperia), sometimes even to "powered by android", but that's it. The "reset" button on the back doesn't help. The phone will reset (one vibration, then three), but that's it.
- If I connect an external power source, the LED will turn red, the first splash screen appears and afterwards, I can boot the phone normally
- When cycling through the failing boot sequences on battery power a few times, the battery appears to be on low charge after rebooting again on an external power source. However, it actually isn't, as the battery indicator suddenly jumps upwards after a while.
Now, this all seems to be battery-related issues - or even more precise, battery indicator-related issues, as the battery itself isn't drained more quickly than usual (at least it doesn't appear this way). Could the battery indicator got somewhat screwed up by the upgrade to Lollipop? If so, what should I do? Just let the battery drain on standby for some days? I'm a bit baffled and the phone is more or less useless in that state except when on external power.
Exactly the same over here.
According to this topic it's a battery problem. But before I updated to Lollipop, I didn't have this issues!

My M8 turns off by itself & afterwards settings etc are reset!

I'm experiencing a weird problem with my M8. The unit would turn itself off all of a sudden. This happens without a low battery warning and no other error messages or warning displayed on screen. No beeps or audio cues, either. I would be looking at it and using it as per normal when it would just power down and turn off all by itself. This has happened twice in the last two weeks. In both instances, they have these in common:
a) Battery was low but not critically so. IIRC, the first time it happened the battery was at 25% and the latest incidence the battery was at 18%. The low battery warning usually given at 15% power wasn't displayed.
b) In both cases, I've just only turned the display on & started using the M8 for less than 15 seconds before it turns off.
c) In both instances, the mobile data & GPS was on. Wifi was off. Phone wasn't charging and the camera/flash was also off.
What I do after this happens is I would go home & charge the phone using the original M8 charger. The charging battery icon would be displayed and the charging level tallies with the last charge level that I see before the phone turns off. I let the phone charge for about 10 minutes or so before tinkering with it.
What's frustrating is that after these sudden shutdowns, some of my settings were reset & the phone will be wonky. I had to re-do the settings in both the settings app & also Google settings according to my preferences. Some default apps were cleared as well, so the phone would ask which app I'd like to use for my Home screen (either Sense Home or Nova Launcher, which I use exclusively). Some developer options were reset too, e.g animation scale etc. Other basic settings as well, such as auto updating apps in Google Play Store.
Also, first time it happened, I was locked out of my phone. The lock screen is displayed but all the PIN combinations I've tried seems to be wrong. The lock screen would go off after I try inputting the PIN. Restart by pressing vol button with power button didn't work at all. I'd touch the screen, the lock screen will be displayed, I'd try inputting PIN but I guess it's wrong because the screen just goes off. In the end, I had to reset the PIN number using Android Device Manager on Chrome running on my desktop PC. Only then was I able to access my phone. My wallpaper was reset, although my app icons on the desktop was the same as before. Apps were all there.
The 2nd time this happened was yesterday. I wasn't locked out of my phone but all my text messages (SMS) were lost. No other loss of data, as far as I can tell. But some of the settings, default app preferences & also app permissions were reset. Had to redo them all over again. Getting a bit tiring, this.
I don't understand what's happening. My M8 is on 6.0, stock ROM & unrooted. Never rooted. I've done the battery calibration steps once but that was before the Marshmallow update. When my M8 was running Lollipop, there were times when it would turn itself off as well but it was triggered by using the camera flash at low battery levels. However, settings, app preferences & permissions were not reset at all then.
Has this happened to anyone? What could be wrong? Would appreciate any & all feedback Thanks in advance.
This happens to me too. My battery is dodgy and it turns itself off when the battery is displaying anywhere up to 30%!! What I have found is that if you attempt to turn the phone on and it turns back off during the boot process then this is what screws up the settings. As long as it is charging and completes the boot without turning off then the settings are fine.
This is a MM problem. Wasn't present with LP as you and others have reported.
The only possible fixes on your end is to do a factory reset and then run the phone down until it shuts off and then charge to 100% with the phone still off. You can also try holding power+vol up+vol down for 2 minutes. This should wipe battery calibration stats. These suggestions may or may not resolve the problem but are worth trying.

Its happening to me!
I thought this was MM issue but i have flashed cm 14.1 and still the same problem is happening. My phone turns of somewhere between 15%-30% everytime. I have tried re-calibrating the battery but it didn't help. Now i am thinking to sell the device due to this issue.
My girlfriend had the same problem with her HTC one M8.
I've replaced the memorycard with a new one last week and it didn't happen since. Hopefully this will solve the problem
Hi together.
I want to give an information about my experience with sudden shut off. I had this issue with my M8 since about six months now. Tried the stuff with recalibrating the accu without success.
Last thing I did was changing the accu. And now everything is all right. The power is remaining much longer over the daily use and I can bring it down below 15% without sudden death.

ZE551ML doesn't turn on

Hello,
So i explain the situation :
When my phone is on for the last time, I wanted to charge it and it didn't work. When i unplugged it, phone said it was charging. I did not understand what was going on so i plugged in again and went to bed.
In the morning, it didn't turn on, and during the night my friends said it was vibrating all the night but i didn't notice.
So I decided to drain the battery. When it was drained i charged it and after I test to turn on it but it didn't work.
I wanted to remove the battery. Because it's quite hard to remove it I just removed 2 plugs linked to the battery at the top. When i plugged in again, I try to turn it on but it didn't work. Every one minute approximately, my phone vibrates
So I decided to test this guide : https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/thead-bricked-phone-updating-to-mm-tips-t3452785/post70825800#post70825800
So I am trying to install Intel Soc USB driver. I disabled the driver signature enforcement. Now I need to connect my phone to my PC and to see Moorefield Device in the device manager.
Now, I recognized a pattern :
1) My PC makes the sound that means something just plugged in
2) 2 sec
3) My PC makes the sound that means something has just disconnected
4) 1 sec
5) My phone vibrates 2 times like it's turning on or turning off
6) 2 minutes
7) => 1)
Please, what do you suggest me to do? It's rare I post something on a forum since there is often an answer in the net but now I am out of ideas, and I don't know what to do.
Just some thoughts :
- I don't think it's the sticky power key problem : I hear a sound when i press on the power button
- I don't think it's the battery because it's vibrating every 2 minutes
- I think the fact that my phone was showing it's charging while it's not bricked something somehow but I don't know what to do
- Maybe I didn't drain my battery enough, I saw that I should put my phone in my fridge, is it dangerous ?
- There was no LED on when my phone was charging.
Thanks in advance for your answer !
