ZE551ML doesn't turn on - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
So i explain the situation :
When my phone is on for the last time, I wanted to charge it and it didn't work. When i unplugged it, phone said it was charging. I did not understand what was going on so i plugged in again and went to bed.
In the morning, it didn't turn on, and during the night my friends said it was vibrating all the night but i didn't notice.
So I decided to drain the battery. When it was drained i charged it and after I test to turn on it but it didn't work.
I wanted to remove the battery. Because it's quite hard to remove it I just removed 2 plugs linked to the battery at the top. When i plugged in again, I try to turn it on but it didn't work. Every one minute approximately, my phone vibrates
So I decided to test this guide : https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/thead-bricked-phone-updating-to-mm-tips-t3452785/post70825800#post70825800
So I am trying to install Intel Soc USB driver. I disabled the driver signature enforcement. Now I need to connect my phone to my PC and to see Moorefield Device in the device manager.
Now, I recognized a pattern :
1) My PC makes the sound that means something just plugged in
2) 2 sec
3) My PC makes the sound that means something has just disconnected
4) 1 sec
5) My phone vibrates 2 times like it's turning on or turning off
6) 2 minutes
7) => 1)
Please, what do you suggest me to do? It's rare I post something on a forum since there is often an answer in the net but now I am out of ideas, and I don't know what to do.
Just some thoughts :
- I don't think it's the sticky power key problem : I hear a sound when i press on the power button
- I don't think it's the battery because it's vibrating every 2 minutes
- I think the fact that my phone was showing it's charging while it's not bricked something somehow but I don't know what to do
- Maybe I didn't drain my battery enough, I saw that I should put my phone in my fridge, is it dangerous ?
- There was no LED on when my phone was charging.
Thanks in advance for your answer !

battery issue

hi guys,
i just checked out my ARTE160 battery. when i checked out the output voltage, i found that its 3.95~4.2 v when full charged. i jus checked this out with a multi meter. the battery is designed for 3.7v only, so does this mean there is a prob???
thx guys
I'm not a pro, but I think this means that everything is alright with the battery. I would rather worry if the voltage was below 3,7 V - that would definitely mean a problem.
well i find wat u say is logical but still im having some small prob in my phone.....
it keeps working well and suddenly the phone service alone wont work and gets hanged (means no calls and sms) after couple of mins mobile just researches the network and joins.
the prob is when this thing happens and someone calls me the call is ringing but i dont get any ring or alert in my mobile.......
also sms is not delivered kater but is lost completely......
i jus looked out somewhere that these probs may be due to battery........
Battery issue reply...........

I've just chcecked the output voltage of my battery - when 45% charged - the voltage was 3.82 V.
in my opinion, your problem has nothing to do with the battery. I had same problem that you described - I switched to WM6 from WM5 - it did the trick.
now it hangs very seldom.
I guess that would help you (at least if you're using WM5).
oh but im using 6.1 at present
its TOM'S ROM.....
...
*for battery issue;
buy a new battery and
charge <----- device must be off!...
when green led light shows, its done..
this should sort your battery issue..
* for issue with - ''suddenly the phone service alone wont work and gets hanged..''
try a hard reset, if it still happens, open the device - open through the back of the device and simply give it a clean, ensure all connections are connecting, in other words, scratch the pins inside device if they need it.. assemble correctly and hope this helps..
-use cotton buds, the ones you use to clean your ears with..
-use a pin/needle to scratch connections..
*sounds like a hardware issue, not rom issue so cleaning inside the device is recommended..
*I've fixed my p3300 plenty of times now by just simply cleaning inside it.
- including the ''not charging'' and ''no sim'' issue people have experienced..

HI Geeks, I have a problem with my blackstone battery. It is getting charged only up to 50 to 55 percent. I kept on charger for one ful night. But no use. I am using official ROM. Can you suggest any solution for that?
Help PLZ
I tired both the charger and the USB cable. Still the problem remains.
A new problem
Now i am facing a new problem. When i switch off the Touch HD, it will not start. When i press the power button, it shows "Smart Mobility" then it will go off. I tried once and pressed the power button again. It lasted some more time, reaching to the HTC logo screen.
Then I Connect the phone using the usb cable to the desktop and press the power button. WOW. it started without any problem. Can you help me to get around this problem?

Check out this thread here or in general discussion, about recovering phone from soft brick, now after hard reset (10 secs volume up and power button) you probably need wait until your battery is dead (about 40-60 hours). You've got unlocked bootloader so you need to be patient, and you need to take care about your phone. You can damage it more. If you don't understand something from that thread, feel free to ask community.

GUIDE to Solve problem
Managed to Recover my phone to good as new!
Full Guide:
Let the phone charge for 4+ hrs on wall charger (No LED).
After 4-6 hours, Red LED should appear flashing. After a few hours, Red LED should be constant. Continue charging for 25+ hours on wall charger until Red LED disappears or turns Green.
Unplug from wall charger
Run flashtool from PC, flash a stable firmware. Do not plug in phone to PC until it asks to.
While holding volume down, plug in USB - May take up to 10 minutes for the phone to be connected and flashing to begin
Green LED will appear and after a few seconds - flash will run.
Unplug USB and Charge with wall charger.
Phone should be back up and running.

(Your phone will respond & should respond to fastboot and flashmode only when charge is more then factory charging (50%) or allows flashes in between charging cycles)
Ok Now I Understand Your Problem,
Assuming you know the basics of flashing STOCK ROM via Flashtool
Do Not HARD RESET 3 Vibrations. Recovering From This Deep Level Of Soft Brick Is Very Hard, Takes Lots Of Time.
First of All, Please Connect Your Phone To The Wall Charger. Untill it Turns Green. This will Take a Long Time.
You can Work On Your Phone i.e Flashing And Stuff only When it is charged enough for working conditions.
On a working phone there are different stages of a battery's charging cycle. The stages are listed in order they happen. The cycle goes from a completely dead battery through a phone running on battery and back to a completely dead battery.
Dead battery. No response from the power button, no screen and no led.
Connect to charger
Low battery level charging mode. This is when just the RED led is on and no screen. At this stage the battery's charge is to low to turn the phone on, but it is charging.
Kernel controlled off-line charging mode. This is when the battery has charged enough from step (3) and boots the kernel to charge the battery. The phone is off, but could be turned on using the power button. A quick press of the power button will show this battery icon. Icon will fill with charge.
The kernel also controls charging when the phone is on.
Battery is fully charged. Green LED. You Can Start To Recover Your Phone.
Unplug the phone and turn on.
Battery is dead from normal use.
Repeat stages starting at (1)
If your phone is not working but you see a led or have bootloops DO NOT USE HARD-RESET. This can make your phone lock/freeze up until the battery dies. It can take as much as 60hours to die.
How to Recover?
First Calm Down And Understand The Next Few Point. @ronex1234
The memory chips need lose power to clear the bad data and reset the phone. Either by the battery going dead or by unplugging the battery.
You can to leave the phone on a charger to see when the battery dies. Usually the battery will not charge in a soft-brick state and will die while still plugged in. After the reset you should then get the red led. However if you get a red led immediately when first plugged in and no response but red led for a long time, then you may need to leave the phone unplugged and let the battery die.
Only after the chips reset will you get the red led. The RED LED should mean the phone is charging in 'low battery level charge mode'.
Once you get the red led, after the reset, do NOT try to turn on the phone. If you try to start the phone now without fixing the problem you will have to start all over.
This is what you need to do, Read Carefully.
keep charging with wall charger. A charger has a higher current rate and should charge faster than a PC.
Make flashtool ready to flash your stock.ftf file. If you are experiencing errors while flashing the entire ROM try to flash just the kernel, check off all in the exclude box except kernel. At this point your battery is very low and doing this will make the flash process much faster than trying to flash the entire ROM.
Try to connect phone in flash-mode. If your phone has enough battery you will get green led. If the flash fails on the first try, just put it back on the charger and wait about 10-30 minutes and repeat. It may take a while to charge enough to flash.
If you see the red led go out, then try for flash-mode.
If you get bootloops, try to flash between loops. As soon as you notice loop, hold volume down and plug the phone into PC with FlashTool ready. Once the loop starts you have very little time to flash, before the loops drain the battery. If you can not flash, the battery will have to die and phone reset. Then start over with red led.
After you complete the flash, unplug the phone and see what happens. Sometimes it will boot to Sony screen and then shut off by itself, if so plug in to a charger. You should get the red led then the battery charging screen then. After about 20 minutes of red led.
If you get a green led (for flash mode) then press the power button until 1 vibration. The green led should flash 1 time. This will end flashmode and start the phone. If you don't end flashmode the phone will still give a green led whenever plugged in, but it will not charge, until the battery dies and the phone resets again.
If you were able to flash the entire stock.ftf file and your phone has gone from red led to the charging screen, then your phone should now be recovered and turn on normally.
If you could only flash the kernel then you will get bootloops. Again you can unplug and try a hard-reset to turn off the phone. If hard-reset works plug in charger and wait for red led and then charging screen.
If you don't do a hard-reset, the phone boot looping should kill the battery and then plug in charger (this is what I did). Then wait for red led and then charging screen.
Now you should have a good kernel and the phone plugged in. You should have the charging screen with the battery icon and led for 'off-line charge mode'. Charge until over 50%. A quick press of the power button will bring up the charging screen.
Once over 50% then flash the full stock.ftf with a full wipe.
If you got this far but still cannot flash a full stock.ftf file then try to use PC Companion software to REPAIR your phone. Make sure battery is more than 50%.
If all fails then post a copy of the FlashTool log in this thread.

For Me It took Nearly 52 Hours To Die.
If you are too much in hurry..
You can even try to open the case and unplug the power chord from the motherbord of xperia
There are many tutorials to do so.
But i'd not recommend that.
The Idea is to Reset the Memory Chip of the phone my providing power to the circuit.
Just like a reset current.
it this problem in this case
04/013/2013 10:13:23 - ERROR -
04/013/2013 10:13:23 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted

If your phone LED (any color) is responding, your phone can still be recovered.

Note :
For Unlock Bootloader Sony has Developers Tool EMMA for flashing official ROM.
Your main aim should be to get back to STOCK ROM now.
I am sorry friend but if the procedure seems too hard for you,
I'd really recommend you to send your phone to repair to sony.

[Q] Bizarre charging/USB problem on my HTC One X

I'm hoping some of you wise heads on here might be able to help me out with a problem that has got me totally and utterly stumped!
Last week I was using my One X and noticed the battery was down to aorund 14%. I plugged it into a charger and nothing happened...no light...nothing. I tried various different chargers and cables to pc etc and nothing seemed to do anything.
After leaving the phone plugged into the mains for a few hours, I noticed that a very slow/long flashing red/amber light appeared. It kind of stays on for 5 seconds and then off for the same amount of time. I left the phone in this state for about 14 hours and when turning on it would say battery was somewhere between 0%, 1% and 2% and would promptly switch itself off.
I messed about for hours on end trying many different button combinations, sim in/out and came to this bizarre conclusion.........If I plug the phone into the mains for a few minutes, then press power and volume down to get to the HBOOT menu then hold power in again to reboot, the phone reboots into the OS and is functional. It still reads as having 0% or 1% battery and shows as not charging, but it must be getting some juice for it to be working. If I leave the phone in this state for a while I can then unhook it from the charger and use it as normal, even though battery is displaying as 0%. I can use the phone like this for some time, although the battery does not appear to last as long.
Also, the phone is not recognised at all by the PC when plug in via usb when in android os - nothing at all shows in device manager, but it is recognised from the fastboot menu and tries to install device drivers.
Has anybody got any clue if I can save my HOX or am I without a paddle?? Many thanks in advance

[Q] Can't boot up SmartWatch 3

Guys,
I've updated my SmartWatch 3 to 5.1 yesterday via OTA
Everything worked fine.
When battery was low, I charged it up from 9% to around 80% (I switched it off though)
It stuck charging at 80% as it was very hot I removed it from charge.
After 2-3 hours I charged again to complete from 80% to 100% even after 1-2 hours of charge It would not charge.
Today morning I did the same I wouldn't charge. I switched on the watch I got android wear logo and it directly switched off.
Now it's not switching on.
Any help I can get?
Yeah same issue here but it is harder than that ...
I installed TWRP on my watch, and when I received the 5.1 OTA, it seems that it did not want to install the update because I was not on recovery stock. Then, my SW3 started to lag, I was not able to install the ZIP via TWRP, and it was superhot, I was unable to boot Android Wear..
That's so ****ed up, man. I can't even know what should I do. xD
I've got the same (or really similar) problem my watch was out of battery, I put it on the charger, it showed normal charging battery icon, then when I tried to turn it on it doesn't show anything, the display is black and when I held down the power button it vibrated once. The problem is that it isn't only display fault because I can't connect to the watch with my mobile phone. Wat do?

edit: Well that was weird, I unplugged it from the charger and put it there again and now the charging icon is back and when I pressed the button it started to boot. Weird.
Me, too.
After OTA today, my watch is dead. Even long press power button can make freeze screen reboot.

Okay guys, here my solution, it worked for me :
If the screen of your SW3 is completly dark:
1) Just let it plug. In fact, the watch is charging, it's just not shown up (I dunno why...)
2) Let it like that for 1 hour, and then unplug it and let it cool down for 10 mn.
3) Install the Sony Companion App on your PC.
4) Keep ressing the power button of your watch til a screen with the watch and USB appears.
5) Plug It to your PC, open the Companion App.
6) Somewhere in the menus, you can resinstall the OS of the watch, RESET it, find the menu.
7) Let your watch restart.
And you're done ! It worked for me, so try.
I left it aside from morning to evening. Didn't even touched it. It completely discharged. So I kept to charge once again and it magically booted up and now working fine. Seems pretty weird. ?
Sent from Galaxy Note II using XDA Premium App
As I read in other post, I can confirm there is some kind of bug when you are charging your SW3, if you turn it on with the usb cable charging and the screen showing the battery %, the smartwatch gets like frozen and doesn't do anything.. In case you have this problem, you should wait until the battery goes to 0%, start charging your sw3 BUT when you are going to turn it on again first unplug the usb cable and wait until the battery % display dissapears.. I did it after I read it in other post in XDA (I don't have the link here.. I was searchig for it on another computer) and worked for me.
I hope it works for all.. sorry if my English it's not perfect hehe

ZUK Z2 Completely Dead

Ok, so I think that my zuk has completely gone under.
This is what happened, My phone started to get random restarts and battery swelled, so naturally, I went to the service center & got a new og battery for zuk z2. After charging the new battery for around 2 hrs, I went on to wipe the phone since, I wanted new battery to gel with a new ROM. After wiping off everything, my phone goes completely blank. NO REACTION whatsoever.
This is what is happening to my phone:
1) No initial vibration.
2) No LED blinks whatsoever.
I've tried the following:
1) Pressed power button (& other combinations) for prolonged period time both with & without charger.
2) Left the phone for charging for like 6-8 hrs.
3) Left the phone as is for a day.
4) Disconnected the battery and everything & let the phone(in disconnected state) sit overnight.
5) Disconnected the battery and connected the phone directly to charger for 7 sec and then connected the battery again. (https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/288970/Phone+won't+accept+charge-turn+on)
6) Tried the Deep Flash Cable Mod.
Nothing is working and phone doesn't show any sign of being alive. Anybody who went through the same or give some new ideas to try?
My phone also randomly turned of with no signs of life. It does response to my pc though when I connect I hear a sound
