Having said that..... after ten or so attempts of taking the sim tray out and rearranging the cards, its now detecting both. I'll keep an eye on it.

Problem with sim Slot 1

I bought this phone 4 days back and I am facing a sim slot issue. In slot 1 there is no spring so that when I want to bring out the sim I just have to press the sim and it would pop out...instead I have to use a safety pin to get get the sim out...pushing the sim doesn't do anything. Slot 2 works fine...anyone of u faced this problem??? Should I take it to service center already.?

Sim card not detected!

Hi guys I have a problem with my S4, my Sim card is not detected, my problem start 1 month ago, when I come back from vacations fron Mexico, I have a message 2 times a day, " SIM CARD NOT INSERTED".
Unfortunaly my waranty is over last year, so T-mobile send me a new Sim card, and still have the problem.
The strange is that my phone can read a Sim card from Mexican carrier (Telcel), but my T-mobile no, I also tried a diferent Sim
from other carrier and is not detected.
Any ideas to fix this problem? Thank you for you help. I will apreciate.
This is a very common hardware problem. Should be a recall but apparently Samsung can get away with it.

SIM not installed issue

Hi all,
Writing this down to help. I was using ZF2 with no issues, working perfectly fine. Then I have to travel and bought second sim to save on roaming. Now when i used this sim , I started facing issues of sim not installed in the same slot1 where my original sim worked fine. My other sim was now in slot2 and working fine. So i got both sims out to check. Ok the issue was the difference in width of sim card. My original sim card is slightly more big then the new one. So the sim slot1 hangs to bulkier sim perfectly fine but my new sim card would not get hold in slot1. It would look like as sim is locked in slot but if you drag it back it will come out. Therfore with some bumps in your pocket phone will show no sim card installed. How i handled, i put a small piece of plastic between both sim slots which keep sims tight and working always.
Nutshell if you see sim not installed issue check that sim is perfectly fitted in slot.
Yep, had the same issue several times. Opened up the back cover, refitted sim and it worked again. happens on irregular Intervals..
Use a piece of paper to ensure that the sim remains fixed.. Used to be a bother but now it's just fine..
I have not faced this issue yet, But my Back cover has two small Rubber bars which seem to take care of the SIMs (I guess)

Dual sim tray in single sim model?

I'm going to be traveling internationally in a few months, and more than likely going to end up on a local SIM where I'm going for while I'm there.
On the single SIM tray there appears to just be a spacer molded into the tray where a second sim would go in the dual sim version. I'm thinking about ordering a dual SIM tray from China on eBay (10 bucks) so I can use the second sim slot in the tray as storage for my not in use sim.
Anyone know of any reason this shouldn't work? I can't think of any reason it shouldn't...

You'll have to flash a dual sim firmware package but there's issues with flashing firmware that's not what originally was installed on your moto z play.
You could ultimately loose your IMEI , Which would render your phone useless.
It's just easier to sim unlock and insert a single sim.

I'm already sim unlocked (have the US unlocked version courtesy of republic). My intention is to only use whichever sim is in slot 1. I'll manually pull the tray and switch sim positions when I need to switch. I just want the second slot as dead storage space for the unused sim card. Just wondering if there's something physical in the guts of the single SIM version that could be damaged by or cause damage to the unused sim in slot 2 of the tray. Or if there's something physically different about the dual SIM tray that will not allow it to fit in the single SIM version of the device.
Definitely no flashing of dual SIM firmware happening on this device.
You should be fine. Just make sure that the active sim goes in the same slot as where it would go in the single-sim tray and the inactive sim go in the spare slot. It's a good way to not lose a sim card. I was thinking of doing this for my single-sim, carrier variant Moto x play, but never bothererd.

Thanks. Avoiding losing a sim while on my trip is my primary reason for doing this. Guess I'll give it a shot!
Update:
Received dual Sim tray from China today (13 days order to door, $10 shipped on eBay)
Visually compared both, they seem basically identical, with the exception of some type of serial number sticker on the original single Sim tray.
Fit isn't quite perfect - the angle of the outer piece of the tray isn't quite right, so it's a tiny bit recessed into the edge of the phone on one end, and slightly raised on the other end. Enough to be visually noticed if you're looking for it, and can be felt running a finger nail over the seam between the edge of the phone and the Sim tray. Don't believe it's enough to present any "catch" issues if running naked, and a total non issue if using a case or bumper.
No apparent functional issues - device connects fine using Sim 1 slot in tray. Did not feel any unusual resistance when inserting tray with both Sims aboard. Obviously doesn't see the Sim in slot 2.
Nice to be able to carry both my Sims with me, worry free. Worth the money for my use case.

Sim Slot 1 not working?

Hi,
I purchased a Lenovo P2 a few months ago and really like it. When I purchased it from the seller, he said one sim slot wasn't working so I got it at a discount and thought maybe I could fix it by changing the rom, reset to stock etc. However this hasn't worked.
When I insert a sim into sim slot 1, it shows connection for 1/2 seconds and then shows no signal. However when I insert it into sim slot 2, it works perfectly fine?
Is there any fix to this?
Thanks.
It's device faulty you need to send it back to the seller.
