Greetings.
The screen of my Desire Z seems to be acting weird when displaying certain shades of gray and transitions from black to gray. Gray that is near black becomes much lighter than the rest of the image, although the color should stay the same.
I did a test with an LCD test image to see if I could find out what was wrong, and I discovered that displaying the image in vertical position gave quite a lot of flickering in the middle. Could someone download the picture on their phone and see if they get the same result as me? I get flickering when displaying it in vertical mode all zoomed out, but when I turn it horizontaly everything is fine.
Bump. Also, 10 characters.
OneX EU Version vertical dark line on the middle of screen.
For me, I think it is related to LCD signal quality, maybe panel problem or screen cable problem. Anyway, it should be a HW problem.
The dark line is about 1 or 2 lines. It is okay with white screen, but has problem with light blue, yellow, green and light red pictures. It is not a constant problem. I can get the line removed by changing color with flashlight app. Sometimes, the dark is disappeared when you change screen colors in the app. Then it will come again at sometime.
Reboot, no help.
Anyone encountered such problem?
does sound like hardware, can you take a picture?
Attached pictures, you can see the line on blue screen and yellow screen. But nothing with white screen.
you could try safe mode (i think you have to hold volume down when restarting the device, until you feel it vibrate a few times), and then a factory reset if safe mode doesn't help, if it still persists, i'd go for replacement/repair
does look like hardware, although strange it doesn't show on white screen, but then again a dead pixel wouldn't show on a black screen, so can't rule out hardware
Many thanks for your advice. Since there is no such issue reported on the net, I just shared findings here. Maybe I will try factory reset later when I get backup ready.

Have tried factory reset, no help.
I also can see this issue even on boot screen. So it is related to HW. But also I can make it fix sometimes with some screen fake out conditions. (by "color flashlight" tool).

It is faulty, simple as that unfortunately.

So I've been using my Galaxy Nexus for quite some time and have had no issues with the LED notification light. Last week while on a drive I noticed that the light didn't seem to be showing the correct color. Green was more turquoise all of a sudden, white was pink, and a few other oddballs. It was in my car cradle the whole time, its never ever been dropped nor exposed to water. I've reinstalled Lightflow, completely wiped the phone, installed a new OS and nothing seems to fix the light. Tonight I tried LED Tester and sure enough, the colors didn't match what they were supposed to be and the turquoise light that is supposed to be green almost has a stutter or something to it . Now last week when I first noticed the problem I disabled lightflow, and a few minutes later the green light started flashing properly, almost like the phone was trying to make up for its mistakes. I reinstalled lightflow, and of course, green and white still don't work. I've tried other LED programs and nothing will bring green back
I can only assume this is a hardware issue and the green working all of a sudden was just a fluke. I've put the light on using LED Tester and given the phone a few flicks, giggled the USB connector GENTLY, thinking maybe a lose wire was the culprit and doing that would temporarily make it work, reinforcing that something is loose but no, it just won't work any more.
Any suggestions?
Maybe I have an issue with my phone, maybe all Zenfones are like this? I can see a light blue line (1/8" maybe) going down the screen, but it only shows up on certain colors (Like a very faded lollipop blue color)
Does anyone else have this, or do I have a defective phone? I've reached out to ASUS via e-mail and still waiting for a reply. This is defintely hardware based per my testings, and again, you almost cannot see it with a complete white background...Only certain colors show the line...I'll try to grab of photo when I'm home...

Edit: It's reaaaally hard to see with a picture, but it exists
Hey all,
I was playing a game on my S9... Not sure if it's relevant but it was a boss battle with lots of stuff going on
Suddenly the screen became bleached out. It remains this way, even when I reboot. I see 3 colors. White, whitish pink, then whitish green. If you know video editing, just imagive you turned up the exposure by 1000% so it's almost just all whited out. I can see faintly some of the icons but nothing I can really make out. It seems to respond when I swipe as I see icons swiping around, so it seems to be a display issue.
I tried turning it off and on, but no luck. Also can't figure out how to do anything else with it because I can't see what's on the display.
Just wondering if there's a way I can fix it with a data cable to the computer, or if I'm gonna have to take it to phone repair.
Thanks
