slow wired internet nshield 2017 - Shield Android TV General

I've been having a dilema about my 2017 nvidia shield and wondering if anyone can shed some lights.
I noticed that for some odd reasons all 3 of my 2017 nvidia shields wired internet capped at about 250Mbps. I've tried all different scenerios....plugged directly to modem, router, CAT 5e/6 cables.......all Gigabit setup. compared to PC with the same setup, I get about 1.1Gbps. I have 1Gbps internet.
I digged up further on Google, this is an apparent issue with n.shields but none of the forums provide a working solution. So far I have no issue streaming 4K content but I still wish to sort out the difference......yes, I am ANAL!!!
posting here in hope I can get an answer.
thanx

Router

Any suggestions on the best wireless router I can buy for using Galaxy 10.1 Tab?
I'm currently using a Lynxs router that 's about 5 years old. Blue with 2 black antennas on it. I'm thinking there HAS to be something better than this.
My browser speed on the tablet is good but I am getting tons of buffering with HQ You Tube videos. Would/could a new router help this problem?
I have the highest speed AT&T (phone) internet at the house.
Thanks!
If you're technologically inclined, you might want to try installing dd-wrt firmware on your router. It made my wifi signal more stable.

[Q] sending my android screen to PC

"Splashtop" send my PC screen to my android. I have been unable to find an app that sends my android screen to my PC. Can anyone help?
I'm trying to use my Note 8.0 for teaching.
Ideally I would like to walk around with my Note 8.0, take pictures of students work and annotate on them.
I would somehow have to transmit whats happening on my Note to a PC that is connected to the projector so the rest of the class is able to see. Please advice

Try this: BBQScreen
Another: Droid @ Screen
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EAD-T10JDEGSTA
You would have to connect this directly to the projector. If it does not have HDMI input you would need an adapter.
Another option might be to try and get SideSync working on your tablet: http://www.samsung.com/us/sidesync/
You will have to be on 4.4.2 and sideload the apk. I have found SideSync to be unreliable on both my Note 8 and S5 but others find it to work ok. Might be because Win 8.1 doesn't play as well with it as Win 7? Don't know.

I use a $20.00 Chinese dongle that is smaller and more portable. It is both DLNA, Airplay and Miracast compatible and has an adjustable antenna. I tested the latency on my dongle and is about 50ms on average, which is very fast. There are two backs. One is the limit of distance you can go from the dongle. Since this one has an antenna, the distance can be up to 3 meters, as it helps when placed in line of sight. The second is that it uses 5 volts, and the wee USB cable for power may need an extension from your computer. Since this dongle has its HDMI connector built in, no need for an HDMI cable to connect in between.
Once you set it up on your tv or projector, you can put it in your pocket and take it anywhere to be used and connect with any HDMI input device.
If your display has DB-15 connector, you will need a HDMI to Analog out converter. They are about the same size and cost of the Samsung Miracast unit. You can leave the dongle in the converter, but the stick will protrude a bit.
Good VNC Server
I've used one Android VNC server that really works with usable response times over WiFi and that's VMLite VNC Server. It supports multiple VNC clients on the PC (my favorite is WinVNC) and you can use it with or without root.
It's not an inexpensive app but is less than a hardware solution and one less thing to carry.

If you have a chrome cast you can cast your phone screen to the TV
Thanks to all your suggestions. I have successfully use MirrorOP for sending android screen to PC. Would love to try out the miracast dongle once I get my hands on one.

Just a thought... I wonder how many Samsung note users use Chrome cast... It is so inferior and costly over a good Chinese DLNA / Miracast dongle. Its range is limited by the lack of external antenna as well.
Oh, I forgot... peeps running modded firmware have broken Miracast and other special Samsung functions. They should have gotten a Kindle Fire HDX or a Venue Pro 8.0 instead, if they don't like Samsung's robust feature set.

I might give MirrorOP a try to see how it compares to the Vmlite VNC server, even though it only has a 3.4 rating in the Play Store. It seems like it has a lot of proprietary pieces versus Vmlite's server using free VNC clients for almost any platform, including Android, so the features and performance would have to be a lot better for me to consider a switch. It also requires root for the Android sender, which is not a problem for me, but Vmlite VNC server does provide a method to operate without root.

Would you provide a link to the dongle you are using? I've looked at them on Aliexpress and eBay before but it's always good to know that someone has used a specific model successfully with a Note device.

How's the latency on this one? Heard some dongles can be as slow as 1 sec delay. I'm concern as I do not want my pen stroke to appear on screen 1 sec after I write.
Also, is the dongle able to use for a few hours without overheating and malfunctioning?

Mine is a year old and has been tested to stay below 60ms on delays. I Mirrorcast a lot with it, so side by side and the TV is a blink of eye faster but not like many I have seen gamers complain about.
I have played 2 movies back to back for 4 hours without heat and lockup issues. The device is worth the $17.00 or so I paid for it.
The only drawback is that it has no apps like Chromecast, but I got my Wii U to stream videos just fine if needed.
There are many more now with external antenna... there was a company that had a dual antenna version which is nice for lectures and large rooms. But I was not in need for such a device, plus it was 2x the price I was paying for mine.

Is this miracast aload of rubbish or is it just me??

so i have a fairly new lg smart TV with built in chromecast..or their alternative..i can connect fine to it from my the phone, image comes up, looks clear, but its so choppy and stuttery that its unusable really..
the same thing happens with my asus memo pad..and one else experienced this or got any tips, cheers
I have had this problem when my internet speed just wasn't fast enough for streaming. We were suppose to have 30 mbps but in reality it was 2-3 mbps, Hargray said we lost all that speed due to it being a wireless connection. We got rid of Hargray, got TimeWarner, paid for 50 mbps, and in reality wirelessly we still got 50 mbps wirelessly and streaming was no longer a problem. This was not with miracast, but netflix and amazon streaming- but the principle is the same.
works very well with cm11.. yay
back to stock 4.6.1 and its ****, whats the difference between stock and cm11??

Fire stick VPN causing huge internet speed drop

Ok so I have a fire stick gen 2 which ive run into a pretty big issue with, just so we can get all this information out of the way my isp is cox. My download speed is 50 mbps normally without the vpn and its jumping all the way down to 10 mbps with it (im doing all my testing with Arnu speed test on kodi) and the vpn im using is Windscribe (great deal btw 37 dollars for a lifetime subscription) As well as to eliminate a few potential factors ive also tried to use PIA and tried my firestick on multiple different peoples internet connections. All of these different attempts show up with the same results. Kodi works great on my phone with the same vpn and same wifi connection with little to no speed loss . I even bought real debrid so i know its not being caused by the sources of my streams. Is this a common issue with fire sticks ? does anybody know if its hardware or software? If no one knows of a fix do you recommend i buy a new fire stick or just buy a fire tv? Any info on this problem would be greatly appreciated, thanks .

3 different Fire 4K devices getting very poor network throughput - Fix??

I tried searching this and posting elsewhere but not getting traction, though I see many with similar complaints, and a lot of youtube traffic about 'FIX Fire 4K buffering" etc. A close friend asked my help with an issue with their new Fire 4K. Long story short, after checking all the other potential problems, indeed I was able to isolate the Fire 4K itself as producing WIFI throughput that is about a tenth of where it should be, on a 2.4ghz band. It is sitting about 2 feet from the router. Every other device [one pc, two handsets, one macbook] get from 5x to well over 10x what the Fire 4K is, and even then it is unstable. The througput varies widely, resulting in really annoying performance.
I was quite sure that the 2 units I personally own were up to speed, ... until I tested repetitively. Though better than what I saw at my friend's place, both of these produce about the same throughput on 5ghz or 2.4ghz - seems little different, and that throughput, especially compared to good devices on the 5ghz band, is fractional also, about 30% of the average of other devices in the same exact spot, all things equal.
Anyone been through this? What is the cure?. Where are the advanced network settings for this thing? the menu shows next to nothing, and I applaud them for simplicity but the performance is out of line with the industry
