Best kernel for Pie roms? - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hey!
I'm planning to go back to Pie to test my battery life with it.
I think I will install LightROM (Pie) for my S9.
Could you recommend me a reliable custom kernel to use it with Lightrom?
Battery life is more important for me than overclocking.
Looking forward to see your advices! :fingers-crossed:

Endurance kernel is just great every time

Choosing between ROMs for nexus 5x. Coming from OPO

I'm coming from the OPO and I've used CM13 and derivatives on that device, mainly because of the better battery life and other optimizations.
Do you guys recommend any good clean ROMs for the 5x? I'm looking at CM13 and OmniROM, are these roms stable and do they have a good battery life? Would the battery life be better than the stock rom?
Thanks a lot in advance

Then choose CM13 from jgcaap. Jgcaap also build CM13 for OPO.

I would recommend Pure Nexus/Krexus + franco kernel combo for Speed, Stability and Optimal number of features.
ON contrary, if you need features, Dirty Unicorns and Tesla have quite a large feature set.

Nothing can beat the stock ROM =)
Install xposed for extra features, completely stable now.

Thinking of using a custom ROM?

Hello guys! I'm currently on OxygenOS 3.5.2 Community Build and the battery life sucks! I'm wondering if I should switch to a custom ROM + kernel, and if I should, which combination is the best?
There are so many options to choose from and it is very confusing.
1. What ROMs are suggested for best battery life?
2. Which kernel is suggested for best battery life?
3. What is the difference between the FreedomOS based on Stable and Community Build? Which is better?
4. How's the battery life of FreedomOS like?
5. What are some bugs that I should look out for?
I'm kind of leaning towards OxygenOS based ROMs for the stock camera quality. Is there anyway that the other non-OxygenOS based ROMS can achieve similar or equal quality?
I hope you experts can assist me, kind of new to this device and the custom ROM/kernel scene.
Thanks!
NucleaROM has the best battery life, it is smoother than any other ROM I have tried, it has the OOS camera port availability etc.
The $1m question, there is no one answer to this. Best advice would be to try out ROMs for yourself, personally I would stick with the kernel provided with the rom as once you start mixing and matching the chances of hitting the best combo for your unique usage becomes less and less.
Two bits of hard advice though, 1. Backup your current rom before starting and transfer the backup to a pc. 2. Judging battery life of a new rom is a lengthy process so give it a good 3-4 days for your usage pattern to settle down before passing judgement on the expected battery life.

what's the best rom for our s9 depending on usage

Hello
this thread is like a poll
this thread can be useful for ppl like me
i wanna know which custom rom+kernel combination (linOs/aosp based roms, treble rom, customized stock rom+ all kernels of our s9 including stock kernel), depending on each user, is better for a daily use.
so in your opinion ,
whats the the best rom+kernel that gives more than 5/6h of sot, without decreasing too much performance ?
whats the best rom+ kernel that gives an amazing performance and gives a new experience for the user?
whats the best rom+ kernel that gives more stability for the user (other than stock) and a balanced battery life+ performance ?
-Personally, im using stock brf8 with apkg kernel and the highest sot i got is 5h20min.
i hope all of you will interact with this thread, so as to give a better idea of s9 development
thank you.

I want to switch from AEX 5.2 to something else, please recommend.

I've been using AEX 5.2 for a quite a long while now and I want to switch to something better. What I really need is just good battery life as I don't game at all. I've also never used rebel ROMs before so if you're recommending them please do tell me where I can find guides to start.
Thanks!
I think you should give AEX 6.0 a try (if you are into for pie ROMs). For better battery life do install a custom kernel. I'm currently using moxie kernel which gives me around 5hrs of SOT on normal usage.

Any other alternatives besides aex?

Try toxyc. A feature comolete rom without the hassle. Simple, elegant and fast with a great battery life. But there are more great roms out there. This one works best for me after using bootleggers and jaguar.

Pie Rom with powerfull battery backup

Please, a very high endurance power rom pie based?
I think they are poor about battery life because the fact pie has not been released officially for p2, isn't it?
Waiting for infos!
Thanks!
I've been using crDroid. Super stable and great battery life when combined with greenify
So stock crdroid is not enough?
