[Q]Transfer sms from Samsung wave to DHD

Hi,
Here are few different options I did try before post here:
- Backup sms to memory card -> it create .vmg files.
- Tried to open .vmg in MS Excel and save it as sms.xml and open it with SMS Backup & restore from market
None of the above did not help me to restore messages from my old Samsung wave to DHD.
Is there any other option, how to do that?

[Q] Backup Apps/Settings/Contacts Without Root?

What's the easiest way to backup my apps, settings and contacts without root?
Use an app like MyBackUp Pro or Sprite.
Lack of root will limit what settings can be backed up (don't have a list of what can / can't, varies with app used and apps themselves).

[Q] How are you handling the import of apps?

As topic says, how are you guys handling the import of apps?
Are you doing i fresh start or importing them somehow?
Do I have to wait for the device to get rooted and use TB?
i use mybackup pro

[Q] Back-up, restore sms

I want to factory reset my LG G3 (D855, android 4.4.2). I have used Settings -> Backup & reset -> LG Backup service to back-up just about everything onto SD card. At the end of the process, messages failed to be backed-up while the rest Contacts, Calendar etc. are OK). Am not sure whether this refers to SMS messages (of note - I have no MMS in my collection of SMS, i.e. only text SMS), which I do want to back-up and restore afterwards (after the factory reset). I am hoping to avoid having to use an app to achieve this e.g. SMS Backup & Restore. Would anyone be able to confirm whether the LG Backup service include backing up the SMS? Thank you in advance.
In my case it backups the sms, yes.

[Q] Get my "chats" (texts) off the S8

I want to get all my messages off my S8 and onto (possibly) a Google Pixel device. However, due to Samsung's Advanced Messaging, my normal backup and restore app (SMS Backup & Restore) doesn't "see" a bunch of the messages.
Is there a way to either convert the "chats" to text messages or otherwise migrate them to any other device that is not Samsung?
Edit: I'm aware of apps to export to PDF (e.g. SMS Share 2, Legal Text) but I actually want to backup and restore to a new device, not just have an archive of them.
