Is there a way to root the S20 Ultra to allow vanilla Android to be installed on it? I'm new to all this, so I apologize if this has already been asked or is obvious.

First of all, hello, I am new here and sorry if this is not te rigth section for this topic.
I have an old galaxy ace with android 2.3 which I am not using for anything and I would like to know if is possible to install windows phone on it, not a rom or an ui style but the OS itself.
Since I dont use it, there is no problem if something fails in the process, its just for experimentations
So, is it possible?
Thanks!

No way, different system and hardware
Hi everyone, first time poster, please be gentle...
I have recently brought a chinese smartphone, mainly as a bit of a folly to see what they are like. I have brought the Star C1000 also known as the Sesonn C1000, Kingelon C1000, HDC White Walker, Vifocal C1000, Lenteen C1000, Goophone M3 and many other names. It is 5.5 inch with fingerprint scanner.
I want to flash the rom and put either a fresh android 4.4 on there or another trusted mod e.g. cyangenmod but i'm having some trouble as I can't seem to find the necessary ROM for this phone in order to do this. Add to this non of the apps that automate some or all of this i.e. Rom Manager won't recognise the device in order to provide rom's and back up facility and when I tried the automated cyangenmod auto installation, again would recognise the phone and continue with the installation...
So could anyone give me some guidance and advice on this,
P.s. Phone is already rooted as its loaded with their custom rom which says the version is android 5.5, so unless this phone is from the future...
Thanks
Matt
Hello,
First, i dont think that there is any CM Rom for your device.
Second, check every other device with the same Hardware as your device, for one with 4.4 Android.
If you find something, a little Modifikation of the update binary should do the job
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks for your reply, that sounds a little too technical for me I think,
Now the reason I want to do this is because it has come with its own rom installed claiming its android 5.5 and that its a sony m880 when it obviously isnt....does anybody know anything about this...
Heve you found any ROM for the C1000?
So I read an Article
That states
Using a feature called verified boot, Android 7.0 Nougat will check the cryptographic integrity to detect if your device has been tampered with.

With that said, will there ever be root again for android 7 and up?
so, with cm14 at least, i believe root is included. If anything i think it will just disable certain features if the device has been rooted. although i suppose that it would depend on the manufacturer. It will certainly be more difficult with samsung, anyways. I'm done with samsung after this one, though. samsung has been bending root users over the table since knox was first included with consumer phones - since before then, but it was a minor inconvenience before then.
when they didn't include adoptable storage with their marshmallow update, i was OUT! looking at the lg v20 now, i sampled it for a bit and it literally made me want to throw my note 4 in the trash
Look at the Pixel, Android 7.1 + root, It's possible. We're not getting official Android 7.x more likely than not, but it's possible to root 7.x.
I'm running CM14.1 on this device and SuperSU is just fine.

Thank you this is the answer I was looking for.
So yeah, I have an SM-T295 (Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019)) tablet with Android... Let me check... Uhhh... 10, Android 10 installed, and I want to install LineageOS in there but I couldn't find one. I found an unofficial build for the SM-A107 (Galaxy A10s) and I thought "Hey, my Tab A 8.0 and the A10s are pretty similar, maybe it will work", but what if it doesn't? F for my tablet. Obviously, I don't want that happening so I came here to ask. Will the A10s build work? Are there any unofficial builds or (also official) betas for the T295 that anyone knows about? If so, can you link me to the file download page? I'll answer questions on replies if anyone asks them. Thanks in advance!

I doubt you will be able to port the A10s ROM to your tablet. The easier solution will be to install a generic system image.
If your main intention is to remove Google and other bloatware, try an adb dbloater. That method has the lowest destruction capability.

Hey! Thank you for your reply. I have never heard of a generic system image... What is it? What does it do? How do I get it?

Also, How do I install TWRP on my device? It's not available for my device but I think i need it for Lineage.
For starters, I am new to android. I have used an android for 5 years, but I have yet to tinker with it extensively. I have a lot of experience with Linux and command-line tools though, so my knowledge level is whatever transfers over from that.
I am getting a new phone, and I want to keep my s9 to do cybersecurity work on, particularly running kali nethunter (https://www.kali.org/docs/nethunter). As I am aware, for the version I will be running (lite), I just need TWRP (docs say root not required, but I thought installing custom recovery required root).
I read a bunch of threads on here, and it seems that it is indeed possible to root a snapdragon S9, is this still the case? If root really isn't required, how would I install a custom recovery? Would I run into any extreme issues?
Please excuse the ignorance, the information is kind of overwhelming to a newcomer.
