Hello Everyone,
I need someone to help me about my phone Sony Xperia ION LT28H. I bought this phone so many years ago in 2013 and after a year of using it and the last time is used this phone the battery was been drained and I cannot be able to turn it on and there is no screen at all. However, I just keep my phone for so many years ago and not even to use it anymore. Last week I was thinking to try to recover my phone which been kept for long time. Once I charged into a wall charger and it shows the blinking red LED and after 30 mins to 1 one hour of waiting it shows the constant red LED and a couple of hours it's stop showing the red LED and totally nothing. Patiently I'm waiting for more hours if there is any changes might happened while I'm charging the phone and still the same nothing, no red LED lights.
I search some advise posted here and read all the instructions on how to soft bricked this type of phone and follow on how I able to charge my phone and I failed. Maybe, I miss something or I'm not fully understand the meaning on how to do it.
I'll be much appreciated to someone who might help me on this who are expert for this type of issues.

Hi, my 6 week old xperia arc suddenly went dead and does not switch on. None of the led lights are on, whether I charge it with its cable or other chargers. I removed the battery and put it back on; tried the software update yet the PC can't detect the phone.
I would like to try flashing it before I take it to the store and test a different battery. Flashing seemed to work for someone in this thread with the same "symptoms" : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829850
I would be surprised if it was the battery after 6 weeks and an excellent battery life of one day and half throughout...
Could someone tell me how to flash the phone? Cheers, Alex
P.S.: Carrier is T-mobile, phone is great, can't say I regret switching RIM for Sony but I was expecting the software to be a bit more glitchy...
If it's of any relevance: if I press the power on button it vibrates a bit when its not connected to the mains. if I continue pressing it it vibrates a bit every 6/7 seconds. The leds are never on.
Have you tried the flashtool?

More likely the battery or charger / cable is gone. Because if there is no LED what so ever then there is no power.
First off Happy New Years to everyone. Last night after returning home from our church's NYE service I decided to reflash my phone. The last thing I remember was using Viper's superwipe to wipe my phone (which i normally use and by NO means am I saying his software caused this). I woke up this morning and saw that the phone was off the charger and dead. I didnt think it was a problem so I put the phone on my charger and stared getting ready for church. I am now noticing that the orange charge light is blinking orange (it has for the past hour) and when I attempt to turn the phone on, nothing happens (usually after an hour and the phone being turned off my phone is charged or at least will turn on). I believe I remember seeing somewhere before about not flashing your phone with a low battery as you could brick your phone that way....did I do that when the phone died as I thinking I dont have a ROM on my phone since I flashed and thats the reason it wont turn on...is there a way I can get my phone on again or do I have to take this to Sprint (which im little worried about since it is rooted). Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks and again Happy New Years

So what did you do?
From the sound of his issue, he probably let the phone charge. At times the battery can get quite low on an Evo and can take some time to charge especially if you use an aftermarket power cord. (One lit supplied By HTC.)

i charged my phone over night and before i left for school the battery was at 100%. i used my phone to search for something for class then i put it away in my pocket. when in the shop, i pulled out my phone to check for any messages and i saw the green led light flashing so i pressed the power button and nothing. tried the soft reset of the power button and volume up key and nothing happened. kept trying to turn it for a couple of hours and nothing.
there is a sony store on my way home so i stopped by there, since that is where i got my phone. they said that the flashing green light means its low battery. wtf right? isn't low battery flashing red? so they said plug it in the charger and wait a few minutes. waited 5 minutes and nothing happened. they gave me a number to call to get a replacement.
i contacted sony online and they said plug it in the computer for pc companion to repair it and i got QHSUSB_DLOAD driver needed.
what the hell happened to my phone? is it bricked? i didn't even root it or anything. please help.
anybody? somebody? nobody? body? even a little help in any direction is appreciated...
I don't know, but I would keep trying to charge it. There are instructions for a hard reset, maybe that will help. Do a hard reset, keep the power off and charge it for hours.
Is there a light on when you charge, or just the same green led flash?

the only reset i know off for the phone is holding the power button and volume up key for like 5 seconds and it should vibrate but yes i've tried that and nothing happened. even held those 2 buttons for like 20 seconds and nothing happened.
yeah, the sony store reps told me to charge it and it should turn back on. i plugged it into the charger that came with the phone and no red charging light came on, just the continuous flashing green light. i left it on the charger for like an hour and nothing. sony online chat told me to drain the battery but its been almost a day and its still just flashing that green light.

yea... well, i drained the battery for a little over a day... finally that annoying flashing green led light is gone... now when i plug the phone into the wall charger i do get the red charging led light... however, it been on the charger for about 10 hours now and i'm still getting the red charging light... tried to power it up and reset it both on and off the charger and nothing happened...
god dammit, when i heard the sony took over sony ericsson, i thought the phone they would put out would be better quality and support... but, they keep messing up with anyone of their "flagship" phones...

nope... nothing... windows detects i put something in but no program will detect it even when holding down the volume down key...
but, i caved in and just exchanged the phone about an hour ago... they told me that if i had auto update turned on for over the air that it started to update my phone and most likely glitched out during the update process... even on the replacement they gave me it has a notification that a software update is available...
maybe ice cream sandwich? charging the phone right now til it's fully charged and i'm going to update it through pc companion... i'll post back if at&t really did send out ice cream sandwich

well... i asked the sony store to keep me in the loop of the repair for my original phone and they gave me a call.
they said that the repair center diagnosed my phone and the battery became defective due to improper charging rates and duration. they recommended using the charger that came with the phone and not leaving it in the charger for a long period of time after it reaches 100% charge.
alright, lesson learned... treat sony phones with sealed batteries like a baby... i'm not really complaining because the charger and cable charges my phone really quickly, like from 60% to 95% in more or less 30 minutes. although, it is weird for me not to leave my phone charging overnight.
anyway, the update notification i was getting was for apps and not for software... so no ice cream sandwich yet...
What the title said. And I searched this on XDA and found several threads but none that cater to my exact problem, and if there are then it was simply because I didn't want to/don't have the time to go through hundreds of threads. Anyways, My Xperia Play (R800a) from Rogers (Canadian Service Provider) has been nothing but trouble for me. I got it Christmas day in 2011 and it worked beautifully for around 6 or 7 months. Then it started acting up. Like battery draining real fast, then not charging, then charging, then working for a day then not working for a week and then another day it worked then it just died (or at least the battery).
So I gave up on it and popped my SIM in my old iPhone 3G. Well I recently just bought another BST-41 XPLAY battery from amazon and I have had probably a 1% increase in some sort of success with trying to bring this thing back to life. I remember I rooted it but I never didn't anything with the root. Moving along, the phone with its original battery would blink 3 times in a pattern for maybe 2-3 minutes then there would be no blinking lights. With my new battery it just continuously blinking 3 times in the same pattern it did with my old battery.
Phoned Sony support yelled at the, its not on warranty anymore and I don't know what to do with it. I have read it could be the charger or the USB port, or cord. But right now with the 3 blinking red lights I think it means its charging... I just don't know. I wish this phone would come back to life already. I tried PC companion too and it doesn't recognize my phone. Oh and when I charge it on my PC I get the same blinking red light 3x and its also just doing that continuously.
If one of you have a solution to this, without linking me to another thread, because I have spent the past year looking at ways to fix it and I ran into some threads on here that haven't helped me, then I would be forever in your debt! Right now I am on my knees praying for this thing its just ridiculous.
Blinking would mean that the battery's dead. You could try charging the battery with an external charger and not use your Play to see if the phone would turn on after the charge. If it does, then it's probably the usb port's fault on the device.

Z5 Premium not turning on
hello everyone,
PLEASE HELP ME!
My z5 premium was working fine.. battery was charged too, and suddenly it turned off, and it didn't turn on back again. I've tried all the different ways and solutions that should turn it back on:
hard reset didn't work
2 minutes hard reset didn't work
hard reset button didn't work
plugged it in using it's OEM charger and usb cable didn't work either and LED didn't lit up
plugged it in to the computer nothing happened, wasn't detected with no sign of life
I had to take off it's battery cover (using professional tools) unplugged the battery, connected the phone to the charger while the battery is unplugged, and nothing happened reconnected the battery back, and plugged the phone again to it's wall charger, and no sign of life.
i left it there all night long since the afternoon. and when i came back in the next morning to check if the phone is charging and the LED is lit up, but again NO SIGN OF LIFE!
(BTW, the phone is in mint condition and it was never been disassembled or repaired)
Please if anyone have an idea what this could be?
if anyone has encountered the same problem and went through the same of what I've been, and was able to repair it or find a solution PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Now, I'm thinking of 2 things: either the battery is completely dead(damaged) or it's the mainboard which I don't hope to be.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS!
Now, forget about any sort of software repair, as I explained above, the phone didn't succeed in that.
So, any help or suggestion would be so much appreciated.
Thank you all for taking time in reading and participating in this topic.
Have a good day.

Not happy reading this thread. Why so many issues with Sony Android... Anyway;;
- I recently had the same issue - or an issue in the same ball park. Phone Just died and refused to charge, but would show a red LED and try to boot when plugged in.
- Sent it to Sony, Hoping it is only a dead battery
The OP sounds like a they have a USB port issue or a board issue, also OP phone will no longer waterproof after removal of cover.
Unclear as to whether you have tried the following;
- Turn on whist holding camera button instead of Volume up/down. it is worth a try
- Try to grab an official sony charging cable- basically impossible to buy nowadays, maybe a PS4 controller cable? try it
My stock unrooted Z5p died like this in April. Have the same issue as the OP and tried all the same solutions. My Z5p had only been used indoors for months with WiFi before sudden death. Replacing the charging port did nothing. Using the OEM cable and charger with a new battery gets a 2 sec red light when connected to power and starts booting up until the swirls (gets past Sony Xperia and powered by android screens). Then the screen goes dark and shows the big battery for a couple of seconds.
I didn't realize there was a sudden death problem with Sony phones until I started trying to fix this. What's even crazier is that I had (have) the Xperia Z, Z Ultra, and the Z2. The Z2 was used in the rain constantly and even survived an ejection from a handlebar mount at 15mph onto asphalt. (All these phones were rooted and using custom ROMs/kernels.) Seems like Sony has a serious QC issue they're not taking about.
