Hi all,
I hit my watch against a tree while hiking and the bezel popped off, and I couldn't find it. The bearings and springs went with it.
Where can I find a replacement bezel? I ordered a repair kit that contains the bearings and springs, but I can't find where to order a bezel ring. The ones on amazon and Ebay stick onto the original, I'm trying to find an original bezel that rotates. Any tips? See attachment for a pic.
Ebay for instance...
Minimum good idea to tell Model Name...
So easier to search for spare parts....
Best Regards
Edit 1.

Hey so I purchased a new housing for my Universal and it arrives from Hong Kong with no instructions... I have replaced a few housings in the past but this by far is the most dificult.
I was wondering if anyone had any photos or instructions from a housing change they had done. I am right now stuck trying to remove the piece on top of the keyboard which ends up being bound to the motherboard by touchscreen connectors from the lcd. Any help would be great as I am truly in a bind.
Also, if anyone has any instructions on changing a housing on the MDA or any other IMATE/HTC product I could use those as well. THANKS.
I've changed my housing and it's pretty straight forward if you are careful and have the right tools.. A copy of the service manual with step by step disassembly and assembly is on the ftp site at..
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Universal/UNniversalL_Service_Manual_CONFIDENTIAL.pdf
The only problem I had was with the keyboard membrane in that it was slightly different to the old one. There are dimples that press against the membrane switched and these were in a different position on the space bar on the new membrane, so I found that the space bar didn't work and had to take the whole thing to pieces again. Also I found that the new housing didn't need three securing screws.
Anyway, It can be done just do it on a clear worktop with plenty of space.I printed out all the sheets and placed the disassembled part/screw on the relevant sheet, this stops screws getting mixed up!!
Going to give it a try right now. I appreciate it.
Hi Odyseus.Have you bought the keyboard too? I have found the housing but without keyboard(and mine's silver) in this shop in UK http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/10679.htm
I think it's a good idea to print out the sheets
I think the housing should come with a new keyboard pad? (Not the keyboard switch assembly. but the membrane with the keypads on).
Benbenben let us know how it goes. Why are you changing cases BTW? Different color or damaged?
I am having probems with my touchscreen and want to pull the case off it so that I can check connections.
The service manual states that after having undone the screws along the bottom edge of the screen that you should use a screwdriver to push into the hole in the bottom left hand edge of the screen case to release the catch to separate the two halves, but pushing the screwdriver in there doesn't seem to release anything.
Has anyone here managed to dismantle the screen and have any tips on how to do it?
 youv'e probaly sorted by now
anyhow ur need to obtain a plastic ended screwdriver (unless you fancy damaging case) insert at join wilst using a fine screwdriver, gently push in hole lever outwards while prising and i'tl 'pop' out do same at other end and use plastic srewdriver to pop open along join all around until it pops of.
had to change screen on mine took about 25mins total, advise u use anti static wrist band (lot of sensitive stuff near screen).
Where did you get your screen from? and how much?
 i brought unit off ebay (internally damaged) for the screen (lucky). theres a taiwanese company, selling them, but not seen on ebay for a while, if you look through archives theres also a usa company, but only repair.
Hi,
Just had an MDA Pro screen replaced by these chaps in Wimbledon:
http://www.xdarepairs.co.uk
Cost quoted was about £110 +VAT + Postage fitted, or £90 +VAT for the part on its own. All in, the screen, including fitting, was not much more than the screen on its own from ebay.
Posted to them on Tuesday at 16:45 and received back on Thursday at 08:45. Working beautifully again.
May be worth a try.
Hello,
I dropped my phone (O2 XDA Orbit) this morning and the plastic inset "border" for the screen has come loose on the right hand side and along the top. It looks like its been glued in place orginally and I'm wondering what glue I should use to repair it. Had a quick search through the forums on the site but didn't find anyone talking about this.
Cheers.
Dave.
Dont use super glue as it will likely go white and ruin your screen. Your best bet would be to have the phone professionally repaired. Alternatively, if thats not an option, try a little evo-stick (contact adhesive) sticks like crazy i fused properly. Or theres always "Gorilla Glue" if you can source it on the net, but it needs water as part of the chemical reaction...

I had a bigger problem, I put my full bodily weight on the phone. double and triple cracks along the screen. I bought a new screen and casing on http://cnn.cn for 150 dollars got it within 1 week.
Replacing screen and body is rather easy - do get the right screwdriver here for the very very small screws in body (4) and holding the main pcb (3)
got the original screen - the stickyness of the top layers = touchscreens is rather good. so I wonder how hard you dropped the gizmo
The question is: is it possible to change the full housing to black? I have a white SGS2 but it has scratches all over... Also that silver edge is pretty much damaged from falls.
I was browsing around and found out that there are full housings for sale, but what about the amoled screen if I want to change the phone color?
Thanks in advance!

The screen is mounted to the frame (midsection of the casing, which is integrated with bezel) by a sticky tape -- ~1.5 mm wide all around the perimeter, and in some areas in the middle. When you buy a complete casing, it comes with the tape attached, so it's ready for you to mount the screen onto it. It will also show you where exactly the tape is located under the screen. The tricky part is do detach the screen from your old casing. Usually, it's done by heating it (carefully!) with a hot air gun, or even a hairdryer -- it will soften a glue layer and allow you to pry off the screen without cracking it. It's not that difficult, but if you are not comfortable doing it yourself, seek some help from an experienced person -- an electronics repair guy, or a seasoned DYI'er. However, keep in mind that sh*t happens, and there is still a chance to break the screen in the process, or fry it by overheating...
Thanks for the answer, kt-Froggy.
Can you give me a link to a trustworthy shop/casing?

I can only tell you where I bought mine... Not sure how trustworthy this source is, but it worked for me. I usually buy my stuff on Amazon. I searched for it, and ordered from this supplier (I was getting another item from them, so it was good to combine shipments). Delivered faster than promised, looked and worked as advertised, no problems with quality, so I was happy with it.

Looks promising... There's something else I should add. I'm using Samsung's original extended 2000mAh battery, so I should also look for the extended back cover which is different from the original one.
Take a look at this: LINK
I just broke my screen in e975..
Has anyone tried fitting a screen in e975 by your own?
Where should I get the screen from, is there a difference between this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Full-lcd-...K_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item58a0c17818
and that one
http://www.spareslg.com/lcd-e-touch...__store=spareslg_uk&___from_store=spareslg_pt
Is e973 screen going to fit in e975 and is there a difference between cheaper and more expensive screen?.. any links to good or genuine screens apreciated.
I can't tell you if they fit, I've done it on a e973 on my own. I would recommend having a proper set of tools, mainly a good metal and a plastic spudger. Back cover was a pain to get off with my finger nail as those stupid little green plastic spudgers don't work worth a ****. Also drink a beer while you do it, you may need some nerve. here is a good place to get one if you find they interchange http://www.etradesupply.com/lg/optimus/lg-optimus-g-e973.html
I've replaced my screen in my e975.
There is a difference in the two links you posted: the first on ebay is the lcd/glass only. The second on lgspares also includes the front frame.
When I repaired mine, I purchased a set that included the frame as I also had damaged the silver bezel around the screen. This bezel is included with the replacement frame but not with the lcd/glass only option.
Hi
Can i ask what have you done with the rocker buttons cable after the transfer to the new frame? Cannot make mine to work. The problem seems to be where the contacts are. I used 1mm double sided tape to attach it to the back of the frame, but maybe it just need to make contact with the metal frame. If i dont use the double side tape, still no luck. How did you make yours stay stable? Any kind of glue?
im talking about this part and the four contacts that contact the mainboard
sorry for my english
Like
Dont forget that spareslg.com has only official lg parts... the frame issue is very important on this replacement.
Best of luck.
