Thank you a lot!

Hi !
That's not the water mode...
Is to Activate the Touch sensitivity function to use the touch screen with gloves.

Phone upsidedown speakerphone question

Hey everyone, I think this is my first post ever so I'll introduce myself real quick. Im Raj from NY and I just bought a Rhodium from ATT and absolutly love it.
Anyway, When I turn my phone upside down during a call, the speakerphone doesn't turn on. I checked the settings on the phone (Stock WM 6.5, only flashed hard spl, no ROM et) and it was checked to tun on when device is placed upside down during a call. Any idea why it does not work? I recalibrated the G-sensor also. Thanks

does it work on a horizontal flat surface?

Right, it has to be upside down and on a flat surface. I.e., GSensor has to see it's horizontal and the proximity sensor has to be activated.

Keyboard case

I got this keyboard case https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Gala...D=418-%2BKpAMDL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
and really like it but one this that I don't like is that when I'm not using the keyboard and close the cover, it doesn't turn off the screen. Can anyone confirm that that's normal or am I missing something?
If I'm not wrong my screen turns off when I disconnect the tablet from the keyboard :\

Yes, mine does that. But what about if you're not using the keyboard, when it's just opened and flipped back, does your Tab S3 turn on when you open the cover?
No I don't think it does that (I'll verify later as I don't have my tablet now).
But now that you mention it, it would be easy to do so using sensors: screen facing downward and light sensor detects no light. :\
My screen doesn't turn on when I open it. Do you guys know if there's anyway to disable the auto sleep when you disconnect the keyboard? Sometimes its very annoying.

Agreed. It turns off the Tab when disconnecting the keyboard, but can't turn ON when you open the keyboard! I like this case/keyboard but that's an annoyance I could do without.

Hmmmm...... mine turns off when detaching it from the keyboard and turns on when attaching it to the keyboard. Maybe there is a setting for that :\

Yes, mine does that. But what if you're not actually using the keyboard? Such as opening the cover and bending it back to just use the Tab for reading or playing a game? I would think a sensor should detect it being open and turn on.
Yeah! I guess it could be done for example using the light and/or proximity sensor. Maybe there is such an app in playstore. I would be surprised if there wasn't one :\

Didn't even think to look (until now). There's a paid app called Smart Cover that doesn't work as we don't have a proximity sensor and another called Smart Screen On/Off that will let you double tap to turn off that works, so at least there is less wear on the Powe button.

Well if this is what you are worried about, then you can wake your device using your fingerprint without pressing any buttons.
If you want also to turn off your screen without pressing any hard button, then I guess you can use the app that I created for my Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which turns off the screen allowing it to unlock using biometrics and which is completely free (I'm happy just by knowing that people find it useful)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gr.ictpro.jsalatas.screenoff

Disable fingerprint sensor while the screen is off.

How to disable the fingerprint sensor while the screen is off?
I want to decrease the energy consumption due to the use of fingerprint sensor while the screen is off.
Thanks
Jesus christ, it's a 4000mAh battery
yes . this . also whenever i took out the phone from my pocket it always said that many fail attemp of unlock with fingerprint . about 7-10 and i have to wait fews second to unlock it
that is so annoying
i would rather turn screen on then unlock with fingerprint . that would be better

I don't have this problem, maybe because accidental touch protection in settings>display is on.

actually you can use whatever screenlock wallpaper and turn on brighten screen in face recognition settings. This feature brightens the screen illuminatemore light so it can recognize your face and then return the brightness to normal.

flip cover app that turns off the screen

Hi all, I tried several apps that turns off the screen when using a flip cover case. None of them work properly. Does anyone knows where I can find a working one.
*it isn't an official Samsung flipcover case
Thanks in advance
No one will work I think, frustrating, I used gravity screen app for turning on/off the screen via prox sensor, with past devices, but I found that with this note10+ with underscreen sensor it no longer worked, tried some othwr apps without success, my guess is that samsung no longer allows third party apps to make use of this sensor, so I think only their own flipcover case will work

Makes sense in a way
I got smart screen on off to half way work...it will turn the screen when I open my flip cover. But will not turn it off. So I just use the double tap feature to shut down.

I can recommend the samsung led view case. Its pricey (90 aussie dollars, i got it for $62 on special)
But it does what it says it will, the in-built led panel in the front of the case displays notifications, and you can design your own icon for different apps/contactsvor use one of the 20+ included icons.

Absolutely correct, sorry... I misread your post. If you want double tap to sleep, you need to use nova or lawnchair or another 3rd party launcher. Its really odd that samsung hasn't included it to their launcher.
Thanks for the info!
I made a double tap to sleep gesture with nova

Proximity Sensor Question

Does the proximity sensor on this phone turn off the always on display when the phone is placed face down on a surface or put in a pocket?

Thanks for the reply. Do you get any random wake up or key press issues when the phone is in your pocket?

Not sure, sometimes I feel random vibrations in my pocket although there aren't any notifications received. I also find accidental touch protection annoying because it doesn't let me unlock the phone in darker rooms or outside, right after sunset time :-/
I've never had an issue unlocking my device outside , at night, or any dark place w/ accidental touch protection on . Fingerprint unlock works flawlessly in anycase
