Other phones I can do:
file:///sdcard/Documents/myfile.html
And the file loads no problem.
Nothing I do works on the Pixel 3aXL. Is it possible?
And not where you click the file in a file browser and it is the content:// uri. My html doesnt work properly when it says content.

If browsers aren't working for that you could try using MiX, it has a html viewer.

Hi All,
Just a quick one - I'm not able to use the built in browser to open https websites. Normal websites work fine.
Wasn't trying anything in specific, even Microsoft (https) didn't work!
Is this unsupported, or do I need to change an option to make it work?
Cheers,
Raa.

Are you sure it's not your carrier? You can even Microsoft didn't work, you mean HTTPS doesn't work in WinMo? I'm able to browse HTTPS sites no problem, but my carrier provides an open internet cxn.
Works fine in WinMo, so it's not carrier related. If yours works, its probably something else then, but thanks for the heads up.
Not using any special browser or anything?

Well I prefer Dolphin browser, but I have used HTTPS sites on the stock browser.
Any particular websites you're having issues with?
I have Mobile Firefox (FF) installed. The latest version lets you synch FF desktop bookmarks to your FF on your mobile device. This is handy, but I would also LOVE to be able to export those bookmarks over to the stock android browser.
There are several bookmark synching (cloud based) apps out there - Xmarks (pay app), etc. However I don't see anything that specifically allows you to just import a bookmark set into Android. That functionality is also not built into the stock browser.
Surely, by now, there has to be a quick/easy way to import FF/IE/Chrome bookmarks directly to the Android Browser on your mobile device?
Nevermind. I did not read the OP carefully enough.
Edit: I also am looking for a solution to this. Supposedly Gmarks can do this but I could not figure out how.

MyBookmarks app (free in Market) will do this. You export your bookmarks; upload them to their site; import them to your device. Supposedly works on all phones (I have a Toshiba Thrive) and IE, Firefore, Safari, and Chrome.

I appreciate the response, I did a market search but this app must not have been popular enough to come up in the first 10-15 bookmark related apps.
I'll give it a try, there is a Free and Pro version.

Downloaded this mybookmarks app. Uploaded ff bookmarks on the website then imported them with the app. Said it was successful but the android native browser has the same bookmarks as before. Nothing new imported. Strange. Anyone else get this to work with synergy or gb based rom? Not sure why it's not importing them to the browser correctly.

No idea why this app doesn't work for me? Says it imports but my bookmarks are the same.

Same with me.
And I'm getting really upset that I can't transfer my Firefox bookmarks to my HTC. I have allot of them, and use them for work also.
Since I'm going on a business trip, I'll need it all on my DHD.
It's a pain in the ass to create one by one manually.
I hate how I always have to "request desktop site" when using Chrome. Has anyone found a way for it to permanently display desktop sites without having to check the box each time?
No, but that is the main reason i don't use chrome as my primary. Dolphin is my primary browser now.

Anyone else have problems opening GIFV files (i.e. imgur links) in Chrome? They never pay for me unless I download and open in a different app.

Me too. Gfycat works a-ok, gifv doesn't. My note 4 works fine, just my tab s has this problem.
I have ADM (advanced download manager) and it works great. But sometimes the links in pages don't get grabbed by ADM and the browser starts the transfer.
I'm pretty sure it's the stock app for the M9 because this happens with all installed browsers (6)
The aim is to have ADM download all apk files, regardless of browsers used.
Huge thanks for solving this

I want to stop this from happening..
So ADM takes over
Make sure auto intercept links is on in administration and story sharing the link to the app if that happens..

Yes it auto intercepts most files, but not all .apk files
The sites give a gibberish address that a simple copy paste won't work.
I want ADM to grab the coded .apk file within the URL and not directly copy paste.
However, I'm having trouble explaining and understanding your post..sorry

I have ADM with no defaults set

Clear the defaults for chrome then try the link again.

I have before but this is another issue from the browser
This is what I'm trying to disable, redirected to ADM
I understand what you mean, you want the downloads to be handled by only adm. The problem is that my adm seems to work fine but sometimes it won't pickup links as it should.
If you're having the problem of adm not kicking in at all i recommend uninstall and reinstall. Also, not accusing you of anything here, the proper Google play version will probably work better than a version downloaded from elsewhere.
It might be worth paying attention to what type of files and which type of website server (https or https) that it happens on. If you can post a link I can work with it would help a little.
Yep, I was using adm from another market. I'm using the google play version now and the problem still persists.
Here's the link of the culprit in subject. http://bit.ly/2qyTtzs
But as you will no doubt get the same result as you mentioned about adm not handling all generated links.

Regardless, unsolved at this time
Definitely stumped me.. Cant get adm to work with that link whatsoever.

It will be an issue with adm. You're best bet us to approach them via the contact link in Google play. Give them all the information you have and the link to test with.
